At least 2 days to 3 days minimum old chicken, not fresh at all. Very sandy texture-like chicken with very plain flavouring. Try peri-peri at Gosforth or Manjatros in City Centre, that's very fresh chicken in comparison to this. First time as well to this place. I would not recommend.

Nice food place could do with a bit of T.L.C great family rum business and would definitely go back if ever in area. No customer toilets which was also a bit of a disappointment

Cancelled my order 2 minutes after delivery was due when I’d already waited over an hour. No idea whether the food is any good because they didn’t deliver it.

I've been going here ever since the shop opened, the new owners made it go down hill slowly to a point where they serve old chicken, half black bone deep. stale chicken Strips that are chewy as gum. The chicken wings are so tiny and don't even resemble a wing. they put no thought into their food no more and will never order again.

Been going here since I was a kid. Good food as always. Peri peri burgers are just the best option from here. New review as of 2024, originally 5 star. But it's gone downhill, old chicken strips, "grilled chicken" is not fresh and probably is half fried half grilled, I probably will have diarrhoea tomorrow. Avoid unless your planning to get a peri burger, only thing that's survived the massacre of chunky chickens standards , The wings have shrunk in size. They give you fresh chips atleast to distract you from the rest of the stale old, unseasoned food. But your in luck if you vape you can buy one of those.... Bit of a joke really.

I hope no one allows him to just add a service charge to their meal. I queried it to be told if was for the bag and the boxes or it was because I was sitting in. Either way he was charging it.

I went to Chunky Chicken to get a meaty mighty pizza. The order was taken very quickly and efficiently by amazing staff. The food was cooked and served in 15min it takes around 10 - 15min to prepare and cook a pizza. The taste of the pizza was fantastic, if im in that area i would definately go to Chunky Chicken!

The fried wings were okay but the chicken pieces weren't that good, weren't crispy spicy and were kinda bit soggy. No spoon, fork or tissues were provided with the food that's again not a good service.

Got food poisoning and the pizza was horrendous. So salty I couldn't eat more than 1 bite. AVOID!

Attended Chunky chicken for the first time. Ordered chicken wings,very greasy. The chips were crispy.

I bought piri piri chicken but I can't feel piri piri taste completely, waste of money. Have smell in chicken as well.

First time ordering from here. Bought extra thinking the portitions were going to be small, god was I wrong, excellent food, great value for money, and delivery was 15mins before it was meant to arrive. We're definitely going to order from here again. Highly recommended.

Shocking what we got delivered, ordered boneless box spent nearly £30 to not even be to eat most of it, forgot our sides and the boneless strips, were basically chickenless strips rock solid and just all batter no chicken. Another chicken place off my list!!

I’ve never in my life felt the need to write a review on a takeaway but after today’s experience with chunky chicken I can no longer hold back. This is by far the worst takeaway I’ve ever eaten, me and my flat ordered chicken burgers, strips and wings. The chicken inside the burger was dry, thin and bland; three things a burger should not be, furthermore the wings looked like deep fried testicles that a prisoner would refuse as there last meal. Finally the icing cake the chicken strips had such Minimal flavour it resembled chewing on soap. Not just any soap, the sort of bar of soap you would find in youth hostel in Central Asia. To conclude if you would like to eat from this restaurant please bring a carrier bag because you will vomit.

Decided to try this place for the first time. Ordered a whole peri-peri chicken. It was gone off so had to throw it away. Glad I didn't order a larger order. Very disappointed. Wont be back.

Chicken wings are really good as long as they are fresh but sometimes you get old ones served

Always love the food. My son loves the chicken nuggets from there, wouldn’t eat anything else. Chunky Chicken no longer delivers to our new home so have to drive there every now and then. Thank you.

Just had a meal from this place expecting the quality I've experienced from several other branches across the country. (Mainly Rochdale and Cardiff.) The chips were disgusting, cheap and soggy. My drink was from multi pack although I was charged full price and the burger was thin, dry and salty. This branch is putting profit above any attempt to provide decent food. A terrible experience.

Very helpful people with lovely food hot wings are the best (kfc and dixy chicken are no competitors). Called and asked for plates with large order and was given what I wanted. Should be called GO TO CHICKEN. as this is were you should go to if you want chicken that isn't dry or greasy like big chain suppliers

Good value for money, the chicken is divine!. The batter is tasty, crispy and cooked to perfection, the barbecue specials are gorgeous too.

Missing items, rang shop, man said it was just eats fault saying it was a meal when it’s not and a delivery driver gave me a ripped in half £5 note change folded over so didn’t notice till he got in car. Very bad service!

The pizza was put in the bag upside down and was completely stuck to the lid when I pulled it off all the toppings were on the lid so couldn’t be eaten

Chicken was suppose to be boneless but was not at all and was also quite spicy which it didn't state on the menu

We ordered a meal deal and got so sick after eating it that I hope people keep this in mind if you are deciding order. I don't ever want to feel that sick again so please be warned. Honestly Chunky Chicken doesn't even deserve any stars at all

Usually I'm very pleased by the food I buy there, just this one wasn't as good as usual, the chicken wings I usually buy were very very tiny, I've ordered two chicken meals and drinks, hot wings and large fries but for the two chickens meals I've received only chickens and drinks, so it wasn't really meals. but hopefully better next time

Only ordered 4 items and they forgot one item out of that. We didn’t get get the peri peri wrap. Didn’t bother phoning them as it was late already had put car in garage. Daughter was upset but wife prepared something quickly. Haven’t been to chunky chicken for a couple of years as they always messed the orders up. Somethings never change. Wont be going again

HONEST REVEIW. I order from here regularly and also live on the street. After ordering a meal that came with a drink according to the menu the my didn’t deliver it and and point blank refused to send me one as they didn’t believe it did. 2.99 popcorn chicken meal please sort this out chunky. Got to say as a regular, the fact you wouldn’t even have someone drop me one off is absolutely awful customer service, especially when on the website it tells you it comes with something??? you need to have a word with the staff as they were arrogant on the phone and genuinely not nice to deal with.

Food quality was good, taste ect. However it arrived 27 mins late causing it to just be warm instead of hot. There was also an error as we ordered a chicken wrap but received a chicken burger instead (we ordered 2 of these but received and extra instead of the chicken wrap) overall the food was nice.

I’ve had Chunky Chicken a few times and always loved it (especially when I lived on Chilly Road). But I was very disappointed with the delivery today. It arrived 35 minutes late and the food was cold as a result. I rang the shop to check that status but the guy who answered didn’t want anything to do with me. I felt sorry for the delivery guy as he clearly had a lot of drops before mine, which to some extent explains the lateness...why can’t the app update us on this instead of sticking to the original delivery time (it misleads people and is bad service). However, the food was nice once reheated. Disappointing overall :(

My order took 1hour, 20 mins to arrive which was longer than expected. However, the food i got was amazing! The whole chicken was huge, everything was fresh, hot and tasty. I would definitely recommend. The only minor thing was the size of the portion of coleslaw.. it was tiny. I will definitekt order from here again.

It’s Chucky man. Was late but. They can take as long as they want, when that chicken smacks your lips you just forget about it instantly. 10/10 would wait again.

Wont be ordering again. £20 wasted. Got party bucket. Food cold. Chicken very pink. Other bits funny coloured too. Checked with chef friend who confirmed shouldnt look like that. Smallest tub of coleslaw about spoonful. Salad lettuce brown. Only thing eaten was nuggets, popcorn chicken and chips. Not much when shared out so safe to say we are still hungry! Rest of chicken binned. May aswell have hoyed the money straight in bin. Side of spicy rice was ok. Stick to KFC next time. Shocking!
