Couples Sunday lunch. Great pub. Live music lovely Sunday roast. The mrs has chicken which was delicious. I had beef. Which I asked for pink. It came out grey dry n a bit past its best. We are at 2 pm. Maybe it has been sat on the heat. The Facebook pictures of the roast dinner that enticed us in were fairly accurate bar the awful beef. I know I should have sent it back. But I’m English so I just ate it. They could do with some sharper cutlery. It was a bit blunt. I’d go again but would serve the beef. If I want a beef dinner I’d go next door to qsf now

Very happy with our stay. The rooms and the bar itself are clean and well cared for. The breakfasts are enormous and there are options for all tastes. The staff are lovely and we will certainly stay again. We were well fed and had great nights sleep.

Perfect location for a weekend away in Lancaster. Excellent value for money.

An unscheduled stop in Lancaster as a result of a storm affecting the railways, and I happened across this place via Booking.com. I was warmly welcomed and shown to my room. The room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed - decent bathroom and a wonderfully hot and powerful shower. I don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel with such good quantities of tea / coffee / milk and biscuits! Downstairs, I found the very popular public bar with a great pint ( Dizzy Blonde). There was an extensive menu and the food was lovely. There seemed to be plenty of non-residents eating which is always a good sign! After a comfortable nights sleep I went down for breakfast which was lovely. Plentiful in quantity, choice and cooked beautifully. The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and I'd have absolutely no problem recommending this place to anyone.

Clean rooms with good facilities but could do with a USB for phone charging. Pub has a welcoming atmosphere and occasional entertainment. Breakfast was 5 out of 5 with a fab full English,well cooked and presented.Breakfast service was delivered by a pleasant and competent lady. Couldn't fault anything during our stay really

A very welcoming atmosphere, live music was great, staff were helpful and friendly. The eight of us all enjoyed our delicious, well presented food and we would certainly return and recommmend to anyone.

Breakfast was lovely, fresh and cooked to our liking. The service was especially good. The lady serving was so caring and thoughtful to everyone she really is a credit to the pub. We will definitely be returning.

10 of us ate here & every one of us loved our food! The Sunday roast was amazing, the curry, the fish & chips & desserts all delicious. Lovely reasonably priced cocktails too. Friendly staff & service good. Only thing I’d change is make it table service & charge service charge. Bit of a pain up & down to bar to order food & drinks etc especially in a large crowd, wouldn’t stop me going here but would def improve it for me.

Food was excellent. The bar staff were friendly. Highly recommended as a venue for a meal. We went on a non event night and the ambience was lovely, not rowdy and noisy, very relaxing and conducive for chatting.

Lovely little pub and great service. We was meant to come for breakfast this morning but we slept in and had to leave for home so we was gutted! Will definitely return when we are in the area

My son and I made an overnight stop at Wagon and Horses. It was very comfortable, had a very helpful staff and provided a delicious breakfast. The interior was also extremely pretty, decorated with lots of fairy lights which gave it a particularly welcoming feel. We will certainly stay there again if we visit Lancaster in the future.

We stayed at The Wagon and Horses for two nights and found it delightful. The staff were deligted to help in any way they could. The room was very comfortable and clean. We asked for a walk in shower if possible and ended up with a wet room. The meals were excellent and so was value for money. We will certainly stay there again when we return to Lancaster.

We've always loved the cosy ambiance in this pub & visited with friends who had never been before. Although we had only intended to call for drinks we stayed for lunch, which was excellent. The only disappointment was the charge of £4.50 for a small bottle of 'no alcohol' lager - the cost of a pint of beer. Always assumed 0% alcohol beers were untaxed, which makes the price seem exorbitant. Next time I'll make sure I'm not driving!

We had dinner on Mother’s Day for 9 of us and the service and food was absolutely faultless. We enjoyed every minute and will be coming back. I recommend the Sunday lunch!

We were visiting my husbands family so decided to come here for food just the 2 of us. We ordered a drink at the bar and then asked about food. Young lad ask if we booked we hadnt he goes to speak to another lad. To then return and say were not taken anymore sittters. Which is fine if your fullu booked was this the case🤷‍♀️. All tables had reserve on them again fine but we sat oitside having are drink we were there for more than 1 hour upon leaving all tables still with reserve signs had absolutely no one sitting on them. Also a gentleman was getting served food at the bar. Very disappointing if your booked then my fault for not booking but why after over 1 hour was there still no one sitting at these tables and it was a good portion of the bar .

RIPPED OFF. I paid a £15 deposit for a Christmas meal which I couldn't attend due to covid, and they still charged the party another £20 for my meal! This is an absolute disgrace, a deposit is there to cover the losses of the restaurant if the guest doesn't attend, yet they still charged the party even though they didn't have to serve me anything! I was shocked when I recently found out that they were exploiting customers in this way. If they expect full payment they should request it upfront, not ask for a deposit and then ask for more money after the fact. I will never attend this con place again.

The Wagon & Horses is one of the best establishments in Lancaster. I don't go regularly, but have been a many times over the years. When you walk in, it's immaculate & extremely cosy & welcoming. The soft furnishings are well thought out, the dining furniture is of high quality. The team are fabulous, well trained, attentive & professional, can't do enough for you & enjoy being there. Great selection of well kept beers & a delicious array of wines. The food is different. Not your average stuff, but a small menu, which I like as it shows care & thought. High quality & tasty & beautifully presented. My only one criticism or observation; I had the venison, which is a pricy choice, served with creamed potatoes, celeriac & a scrumptious gravy/sauce. Formerly a favourite of ours. Old menu lovely, with everything you would want from a pub and not overly expensive. New menu and direction is not great. Menu is limited, twee nonsense and is far too expensive for what it is. Sadly what it is hasn't been executed very well either - disappointing duck, and desserts (undercooked duck and suspected microwaved pud). £17 for 2 glasses of wine is also not on. Get back to what you did or lose all your customers - good open sandwiches, a nice burger, a catch of the day and a roast. This was a crying shame guys please go back to what you know.

We stayed at the Wagon and Horses on a journey up to Scotland just because it was convenient and what a wonderful suprise. The room was spotless and all the fixtures and fittings were of a high quality. We had an evening meal at the Wagon and Horses as the weather was awful and it was another great suprise wonderful tasty food excellently presented and breakfast in the morning was also of the highest quality. Highly recommended a great find in a great position by the river.

Lovely hotel, country cottage decor. Very comfortable bed, lovely white sheets, fluffy towels, good shower. Room was small but the comfort level was great, but it was too hot. Had the window open all night but there was a little traffic on the road outside which affected my sleep but not my partner. Breakfast was excellent but coffee was terrible. So bad i couldn't drink it. Dinner menu was expensive and menu was a bit of a strange mix. Had fillet steak which was delicious and very well cooked. Nice setting overlooking the river but a little noisy with the road outside.

This was my first visit even though I live in Lancaster. After my brother, his wife and friends ate enjoyed a meal at The Wagon and Horses, we decided to book our dads retirement party here. It was just immediate family so small and intimate. We were put in the corner so that we had our own little section which was great. The food was really delicious, I even ordered my starter again instead of a dessert! Very friendly and helpful staff and the restaurant is really cosy and clean.
