It was a dull and rainy day so we decided to take the bus to the Waggon and Horses for some great comfort food. We always enjoy it here as it’s cosy, with great service from Lisa and the amazing food. We had the steak and ale pie with triple cooked chips and the leek, potato and stilton pie with vegetables and stilton sauce. These were proper homemade pies and we couldn’t fault a thing. We’ll be back again and recommend you give it a try.

Marmalade (the pub's ginger cat) the landlord and chief food taster greeted us with cuddles and floops. Food was lovely and exactly what we hoped for when ordering - Leek, potato and stilton pie was very tasty. Great customer service and the view is outstanding.

We came for a family meal on a Sunday evening, my wife had the Sunday beef roast which she describes as absolutely superb - she said the cut of meat was one of the best she’s ever had My daughter had a child’s beef dinner and my son had the Burger (it actually came as an adults meal by mistake but they was happy to charge a child’s meal for it as it was their error) The BBQ pulled pork burger was simple the best burger I’ve ever eaten - everything was perfect - there wasn’t too much stuff in which would of made the burger fall apart - the burger buns were solid so it all stayed out - and the beef was succulent I can’t give much more praise that the full experience was amazing - the lady behind the bar was friendly and helpful and the young lads serving were great as well Unfortunately we was only staying in Oxenhope for a couple nights so we can’t go back soon but we will make sure to get back before the end of the year as it was superb HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We are a family of 5 who visited on the spur of the moment. Food was absolutely fantastic! Our three sons had burgers which were excellent however the real star was the steaks that my wife and I had. Having had plenty of disappointing steaks we couldn’t have faulted the plates of food put in front of us. Perfectly cooked steaks, homemade onion rings, the chunky triple cooked chips and a tasty blue cheese sauce. It was nothing less than superb and in relation to other places very very reasonably priced! Even though full we were tempted by the sweets which again were great. I had the rhubarb and ginger sponge which was great! Mention must be given to the waitress who was attentive, friendly and a real credit to the establishment. This is a place not to be missed and we’ll definitely return if ever back in the area.

We decided to go on the spur of the moment and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was as it was reasonably priced. I ordered the mixed grill, it was excellent and plenty full. We walked up the hill to the pub from where we were staying which was a bit hairy as busy road but it was well worth it. We both had the steak and ale pie as there was a Tuesday special as 2 for £20 on pub classics. The pie was definitely one of the best I’ve had , good meat and tasty gravy. I had sticky toffee pudding and my wife had rhubarb and ginger pudding and both were delicious. As other pub in Oxenhope didn’t do food this place is a great place to eat.

My son and I enjoyed a very good quality steak and burger cooked just as we asked with our overexcited dog, who is a large breed, we were treated amazingly well with friendly, helpful, and thoughtful service we will be back

When we arrived there were only a couple of cars in the car park, made us wonder why? The pub was really chilly, I asked if they would light the fire, was told they had no wood!! ?? The staff were young and not interested in us, no smiles no welcome, no apologies. Asked for a certain beer, told they’d run out, the beer that was served was like dishwater! Asked for lamb shank for dinner, told they’d run out! At that point we felt like walking out but as it was a Saturday evening we felt that we wouldn’t get booked in anywhere else. The food when it came was nice but we won’t be visiting again.

As locals to oxenhope this is one of our favorite places to eat. Whether it be a meal out for me and my partner, a celebration with family and friends or just a quick visit after a walk with the dogs, the food, drinks and service are always spot on. Today my partner had the fish pie and I had the lamb shank, it came piping hot, very well presented and the portions were perfect. Danielle who served us was very accommodating and always has a lovely smile and fab conversation. All in all this is a lovely, clean, welcoming place and best of all it's dog friendly! I love this place. The welcome is incredibly warm and friendly, and the food is excellent - do try their pies, they're amazing (and filling!) It's just a shame I lived 150 miles away and can't visit more often. If I lived in Oxenhope, this would be a regular haunt.

The place is a little run down since the last time I visited but the food was delicious and piping hot Only negative is the young staff being very vocal about their social lives and messing about, this aspect seriously needs to be addressed

After looking at trip advisor for pubs near Keighley we chose this pub, we have never been before so didn’t know what to expect , one review did say that it was freezing but we were welcomed with 2 lit fires. The 2 girls running the bar were very friendly . The food was very good and portions just right. The reason we haven’t given it 5 stars is the access . We brought an elderly relative with bad mobility and she had to manage the steps up to the pub with difficulty. We would visit this pub again .

We stopped at The Waggon and Horses Inn on our way through to Hebden Bridge for refreshments. We decided to have lunch there and the food was an excellent standard and all homemade, wish we had room for pudding!!! The young lady that served us was welcoming and friendly, she told us about an alternative route to Hebden Bridge as the direct route was closed, she recommended a route that took in the views of Widdop Reservoir. We decided to take that route and was not disappointed. The views were amazing. Thank you to the young lady for her exceptional service and advise.

We ordered a takeaway during the lockdown and it was fabulous. We ordered 2 pies with veg & chunky chips and a burger & chips. Ordering was easy & we were told the food would be an hour. It arrived well within that time & was still hot. I had the leek & Stilton pie & it tasted lovely. The pastry was as crisp as if we were in the pub, no detriment at all for being packed & shipped to our house. We all enjoyed our food as much as we would have if we’d gone to the pub, the chips & veg were chunky & superb. I would definitely recommend a Waggoner’s takeaway.

My husband and I had a lovely meal here last night. The black pudding was delicious, we shared and then had game pie and steak pie. Don’t order this unless your really hungry ! The lovely lady lit the fire for us so it was cosy and warm and was very attentive. All in all a lovely evening. Thank you. I would highly recommend.

Three of us went to the Waggon and Horses for Sunday lunch today. I had tomato and pepper soup which was delicious followed by roast lamb and all the trimmings. My husband had a chicken pie which he enjoyed but said the pastry was over cooked. Our relative said her roast beef was undercooked so had difficulty cutting the undercooked part but her veg etc was good. She said her pudding was delicious so all in all we were satisfied with our meal. We were asked if everything was ok so we said yes because we knew there was nothing the waitress could do at the time. The pub was very busy despite the bad weather but the pub was warm with an open fire and welcoming efficient friendly staff.

Booked a last minute meal on a Monday night - The pub has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was beautiful. Plenty of it and cooked perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return.

We booked lunch for 8 of us on a drizzly and gloomy Thursday. The food was really good. Between us we had:*Child’s lasagne for an older member of our group- it looked big enough for an adult main meal* sharing deli board- very tasty* burgers with chips and the best tasting battered onion rings ever!* thai green curry^ a wonderful lamb meal* gammon steakFriendly service and a log fire. Visited here for Sunday lunch based on the excellent reviews, which stated huge dinners, couldn’t eat it all etc. It is a lovely cosy welcoming pub, real fire nice decor. I wouldn’t put the place down, we had lovely starter of mushrooms with tarragon and Stilton but, the dinner itself was mediocre. Mainly because the roast leg of lamb, served as just two medium slices, was a little chewy and fatty and I would have preferred an added vegetable or more of the green vegetable. The service was good, but we did have to ask for accompaniment sauces with our meal. We would definitely return, as I’m sure all the other tempting dishes on the menu would be worth sampling. Dessert was delicious...Toblerone cheesecake.

Part of a group of 9 we booked last minute on a Sunday and they staff were very helpful and accommodating! The food was amazing and the venue is really nice. It was a rainy day but can imagine on a nice day it’s such place to be with fantastic views! Definitely worth a visit!

Fancied a meal out with my house mate and decided to give the waggon and horses a go and what a great choice!! I ordered the lamb kofti and my friend ordered lasagne and both were very nice.. the service was warm and welcoming with polite and pleasant staff. The food was really nice and the portion size excellent (so much so that I didn't manage to finish my mixed grill). The garlic, stilton & tarragon mushroom starter was to die for. The waitress & bar staff were helpful & knew the menu. Ample parking outside & nice quirky additions - slate menu holders, Scrabble reserved table markers were nice additions.

We had a really good meal at the Wagon and Horses reopened after a period of closure. Great service and a lovely location

We stayed at The Stables holiday apartment attached to the pub itself and we have loved it. Ate at the pub every night and the food has been excellent. Fish pie, steak pie, fish & chips, chicken in sauce & steak all super tasty. Service all friendly and excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. Barely any noise from the pub at all. Bed super comfy too, after a long day out and about in the area. All in all we have had a brilliant and relaxing few days. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

Stayed at the accommodation attached to this pub through Air B&B; recently for two nights. Cannot recommend highly enough. Extremely cosy with superb views from the lounge. Warm, clean, tasteful and welcoming. Bed very comfortable. Great base for seeing West Yorkshire. Will be back!

Returned after two years, The meal was just as lovely and the staff were very nice and helpful. Everything was very fresh and well presented, would certainly return again.

We visited for Sunday lunch, the lady behind the bar was pleasant and told us where to sit, we had to ask for menus after 10 minutes of being sat down, we were sat a while before they took our order, starters came out promptly and were very nice. However we were sat for around 20 minutes before they removed the empty plates from our table, we eventually got our mains but we weren’t asked if we wanted any sauce and I had to get up and ask, the lamb wasn’t edible and I did flag this up with a staff member who very bluntly said ‘well what’s wrong with it?’ And walked away with the plate no apology or anything, we had to ask to pay and our empty plates still hadn’t been removed. Bad experience this time and probably won’t be visiting again. We were looking forward to a nice Sunday meal out. And this was unfortunately ruined by the customer service.

First visit to The Waggon and Horses after a day out with our daughter. All of us ordered a roast beef and caramelised red onion sandwich and chips each all of which were delicious. Staff were lovely and friendly and food arrived quickly. I tried my first ever pint of pearl jet stout it was so good I had a second. Happily return again and sample more of the menu.

We went on Friday night with friends for a birthday celebration. We all love this cosy pub as it’s a great place to relax with a friendly atmosphere. We received great service from Amy and Tegan. Our food choices were the fish and chips, belly pork from the specials board and the mixed grill. We all enjoyed our delicious food and know from experience not to have a starter as the portions are generous. We’ll definitely be back again and recommend you give it a try.

Having visited before, the whole family were again pleased with our meals. I am especially pleased as this eatery is local to me. It seems to be able to consistently provide great food, which is really nice; not all places I visit manage to do this. The atmosphere was quiet when we first arrived (though this was early evening), as more groups arrived the atmosphere did pick up. In any case there was some nice music in the background which was at an appropriate level! Personal-taste-wise, I found it to be a nice mixture of music I hadn't heard from a while ago, but not too long ago (think mid to late 90s!).

The Waggon and Horses was recommended as a local pub for a group of 25 of us for lunch. So that we could be quickly served we chose in advance steak pie chips and veg for all of us except a couple of people with dietary needs who booked directly.

Fabulous pub food. An extensive menu in addition to Sunday Roast, and a good choice of quality wines and gins. Friendly, casual atmosphere in the heart of the countryside. A roaring fire in a cold winters day. Everything was great. The only downsides were that portion sizes were too big (is that bad?) and the table was a bit sticky. Xx

We called in for lunch as we were passing on New Year’s Day. When we arrived there were a couple of tables in but it soon filled up about 1:30pm.

A quick stop off at the W&H; today, first time eating there having only dropped in for a drink once many years ago. We arrived while it was still quiet and it got very busy shortly afterwards creating a typical country pub atmosphere.

We tried the pub for lunch. It was very quiet when we arrived- the only customers- not a good omen!

Booked for a weekday evening in advance as I know how in demand this pub is for its food, and I fully understand why. I was met at the bar by a lovely member of staff who was very polite and informed me my table is ready but if I wanted to order a drink at the bar she would bring it over to the table for us. We were given the menus and then our drinks were swiftly brought over our drinks. I had one of the Christmas special ales which was fantastic. We were spoilt for choice on the main menu with nearly ever dish sounding delicious. I decided to go for the fish pie and my girlfriend went for the lamb duo. Both dishes were unbelievable in flavour. We had to share the dishes due to how nice both were and not wanting to miss out!

Great Sunday lunch table of 8 accommodated great even though we had booked at very last minute. All food perfect - Sunday meal offer great value with 3 courses to choose from. Worth a visit.

What can i say about this place.... it is a gem of a pub nestled up in the hills with a beautiful view of Oxenhope and over towards the hills.

So we arrived. Drinks were ordered. They came quickly. The table sort of collapsed around us - but was sorted out. So then We ordered food - we had 2 small kids with us and asked their order cake with the starters. The starters took 45 minutes to arrive. Way too long. Kids utterly disinterested at this point and had past it. The chips were lovely. The fish was greasy and the mushy peas were crushed peas with Mint. Hard and not at all fresh. Not great for the kids.

Friendly staff, good selection on lunch menu - evening menu was also varied. Good selection of ales also. Would visit again!!!

Family meal out, my sirloin was cooked as well as it could have been, and we all could not fault the meals. Chips, and other accompaniment's were top notch. Lovely county pub too. Beer, Saltaire Blonde, delicious.

We lived in Oxenhope in 2016/17 and enjoyed many meals at the Waggon,always good,we moved out of the area for 18 months but returned to live in Haworth recently.

Excellent food and menu good service great surroundings and ambience. plenty of choices on menu but a little pricey.
