Delicious food. Value for money and extremely good service.

It's a tradition for me the last day of staying in Edinburgh to have dinner at wagamama, i always liked their ramen, as i did this time, sadly the server that got our table, felt like a robot, always coming at our table while we were eating (rude) and asking stuff to us (again, while we were eating) almost like reciting a script, i know he was trying to be friendly but, my guy, that is not the way.. when he was taking the order he didnt wrote down mine (i know that i speak english fine) i guess i lost his attention for a moment , so i had to wait after my friend got hers. He was very eager to get a feedback so there you go Zlatin i left a little tip just because the girl that brought me the POS was supersweet

I really liked the establishment. The open kitchen, where you can watch the process of preparing dishes. Despite the fact that we forgot or missed items in our order, this did not in any way affect the impression of the establishment - the veal salad was magnificent! An explosion of flavors!

Standard Wagamama experience, you always get the same no matter where you go, great all around

Staff where great a credit to the service industry. The ramen disappointing very bland and not much beef,tbh wetherspoons does a better 1.ive lived in Asia for 10 years so I know.at 17.50£ I felt blagged.the place was lovely well set out and clean.should have got the katsu that looked great

I recently visited Wagamamas on Lothian Road with my daughter and had an amazing experience thanks to our server, Ollie. We ordered quite a few sides and that was more than enough! We usually visit the one at St Andrews square but the food quality and service was just as brilliant’ Will definitely come back again, thank you again Ollie!

My first time at wagamamas, my partner has been loads before. Loved the food and the drinks asahi is top notch on draught. Seba is a great server too very kind and helpful 10/10 would be served again

honestly the worst ramen and soba noodles i've ever had. flavorless ramen, driest soba noodles. got charged £5 for water and charged for extra sauce (?!) to make it edible (and wasn't informed that it would cost extra) the sauce didn't help anyway. 1st and last time trying wagamama.

Well, where to start. Went in spontaneously on the way home at 9:15 p.m. The menus were first handed to us as we were brought to the table. Before we even sat down, let alone took off our jackets, the head waiter (?) explained to us the “concept” of the restaurant and what was NOT available. He talked incredibly fast and pointed to about 5-8 dishes on the menu that they no longer had. Ordered food, appetizer came before drinks. But still within limits. Edamame delicious (£4.90 - portion good), wok fried greens taste great for £5.70 but an absolute joke in terms of size, Yasai gyoza vegetarian tastes good (5 pieces - overpriced) While we were still with the starters, waiter No. 1 asked us if we still needed our sauces etc. box, we said yes. The main course came separately, a few minutes apart…uncomfortable for those who have to eat alone… Tofu raisukaree £13, taste more like a 3/10… a shame. Portion ok Kare ouroso £14.20 portion tastes ok, only edible with a lot of soy sauce I asked for no chili... it was still there, spicy yes taste rather no While we were eating, waitress 2 came and asked again about the sauces etc. regarding clearing up, at this point it was twenty to 10... according to Google they close at 10 p.m.... but no restaurant closes at that time but stops serving... this one takes that probably a little too serious... Atmospherically, such behavior urges you to leave the store as quickly as possible - but definitely not to come back. As we were putting on our jackets, someone with a cleaning bucket was standing behind us and more or less said goodbye with an impatient “Bye.” What a disappointment! £54 for such an experience… thanks but no thanks! Once and never again!!!

Wagamamas is my go to place when I visit the city. No need to book as it’s first come first served, The food is excellent and service is quick and friendly. Definitely worth a visit The kids are vegetarian and plenty of choice for them.

Food was very good. Price completely okay You can watch chefs cooking... Cool concept Service nothing to complain about, absolute professionals The ambience is nice but the volume and music is not recommended for people with autism.

I dined at your restaurant yesterday and wanted to share my experience. While the waitstaff were friendly, I was disappointed with the service. My partner's meal arrived well before mine, and by the time my food came, it was cold. I had to approach a waitress to inquire about my order, and while she apologised and reheated my meal, the delay was frustrating. Additionally, the food itself was a bit underwhelming; I've experienced better during my previous visits. Unfortunately, I don’t think I would return based on this experience.

This was the worst Katsu chicken curry I have ever had the chicken was inedible rubbery and tasted horrible I couldn’t eat any of the bits also they have cut down the portions a lot no sauce and they used to give u 2 chickens but not only one and the meat is disgusting like frozen worst quality and microwaved it’s rank! Never going to wages again

Comida perfecta como siempre - Wagamama es mi cosa favorita para tener cuando fuera y alrededor con mi pareja. El servicio era absolutamente fantástico No puedo culpar al personal en absoluto - éramos una fiesta de 11 para un cumpleaños y eran honestamente tan encantador y eficiente sobre todo. La comida y las bebidas llegaron sin falta. ¡Muchas gracias al personal que sacó mi pastel de cumpleaños! (Os pido disculpas si eso no es lo que se suele hacer) y espero que hayáis disfrutado de los trozos que os han quedado. Genuinamente el personal más agradable y la mejor comida que he tenido. I just wanted to come on here and tell you all about the best service I had ever experienced. Zenetta, a waitress who went above and beyond. Beyond service. Beyond kindness. A truly wonderful human being. She was really a prime example of the outstanding service that Wagamama has shown over the last decade. The whole team as a whole were honestly outstanding. A true pleasure to visit this restaurant and to meet Zenetta.

We tried Wagamama tonight while visiting Edinburgh. The staff was friendly and efficient. Our wait time was short and once we ordered our food came out relatively fast. Unfortunately neither of our entrees had very much flavor. I had the beef ramen and my wife had a rice bowl. We also had edemame which was fine. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night?

Wagamama is my top choice for a restaurant chain because it consistently delivers a unique and satisfying dining experience. Wagamama have NEW items on their menu. Highlights include the vibrant, chicken and plant-based additions of the Hot Honey Chicken and Hot Sweet Fried Vegan Chicken. I feel the menu has a lot more options for vegans and vegetarians, and they have some new additions to their No and Low Drinks such as Spicey Mindful Mary and Spiced Plum and Orange. We tried mostly NEW dishes and got tucked in straight away to NEW Koko ‘prawn’ Crackers - Asian style crackers tossed in a coconut, chilli and lime salt served with a sweet chilli sauce. These carry the Pringle Effect, once you start you cant stop! - they are just a delightful fusion of flavours and textures. The Asian-style crackers are light and crispy, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. Tossed in a mixture of coconut, chili, and lime salt, they offer a unique combination of tastes. The coconut imparts a subtle sweetness and creamy undertone, while the chili adds a gentle heat that tantalizes the taste buds. The lime salt brings a burst of zesty freshness, cutting through the richness and enhancing the overall flavour profile. Paired with a sweet chili sauce, the crackers are elevated to another level. The sauce is both sweet and tangy, with a hint of spiciness, creating a perfect balance that complements the savoury and aromatic seasoning on the crackers. Each mouthful is a delightful explosion of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavours, making it an irresistible snack. Hot Honey Fried Chicken - Yuzu. Chicken coated in hot honey and yuzu sauce Hot Honey Fried Chicken - Teriyaki. Chicken coated in hot honey and teriyaki sauce Hot Honey Fried Chicken - Firecracker. Chicken coated in hot honey and firecracker sauce. All dishes are topped with mixed pickles and served with a zesty mayo. Now as for the Hot Honey Fried Chicken - wow! These have made it onto my must-have list. You’ll bite into pieces of deep-fried chicken that's perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The hot honey adds a luscious, caramelized sweetness with a bit of a kick, while on top, a mix of pickles adds a refreshing crunch and a tangy acidity that further enhances the dish's complexity. The zesty mayo, creamy and slightly tart, ties everything together with its smooth texture and punchy flavour. The coating of hot honey and yuzu sauce creates a delightful balance of sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy flavours. The teriyaki sauce adds a rich, savoury depth with its slightly sweet and umami notes, creating a harmonious balance, while the firecracker sauce adds an intense kick of spiciness with its bold, tangy notes. I always have the Chicken Gyoza—it's a must-have for me. This time, we also ventured into trying the Tama Squid Balls, which were a delightful surprise but not for me. The real highlight of our meal was the collaboration with Spoons—The Crispy Tofu Sambal Fry. This dish features firm tofu coated in a flavourful blend of garlic and red pepper powder, served with a mild tomato sambal that perfectly balances the heat. Alongside, there's a vibrant pickled slaw, fragrant coconut rice, a chilled turmeric-stained egg, and a bowl of amai sauce to tie it all together. You can choose between crispy fried chicken or crispy fried firm tofu for this dish. We tried the tofu, and I was pleasantly surprised. Having never tried tofu before, I found it to be somewhat like halloumi cheese but without the squeak. It's an excellent canvas for absorbing flavours, making it perfect for this dish. The tofu coating was wonderfully crispy on the outside leaving the tofu silky and tender on the inside, creating a satisfying contrast in textures. It's definitely a great option, even for those who haven't been fans of tofu in the past. Wagamama strikes the perfect balance between fast food and quality cuisine.

Las mejores notas para el asistente del manager Zenette. Después de esperar más de 30 minutos, ella vino a decir que nuestros pedidos no llegaron a la cocina. Ella se disculpó profusamente y nos ofreció aperitivos y bebidas de cortesía sin que nosotros preguntáramos. Esto es bastante inusual para los restaurantes hoy en día. Nuestro servidor Lesi que ha estado trabajando allí durante solo 8 turnos vino regularmente para asegurarse de que todo está bien. Ella mostró un cuidado y servicio ejemplar.

A very good example of wagamama done right. Bright room, not dark and hot, attentive helpful staff and well-executed dishes. Tonkotsu ramen was good as usual, and saku saku soba duck was also well cooked.

Pretty standard ramen! The spicy chicken ramen (pictured) was kind of watered down and not that spicy, but the hot pot (not pictured) was surprisingly spicy and really tasty! Broth was much thicker! Overall recommend for a quick meal!

Very long wait for delivery. Luke warm food, and lots of grit in the vegetarian noodle dish (leek or spring onion?) Extremely disappointing. We won't order again.

What a cool environment an delicious food. The portions are small so it left me wanting more dinner. Highly recommend getting the miso ice cream with out any Carmel as it ruins the flavor of the miso. Staff was great. Kids menu! Clean bathrooms. Great food just give us more lol. Food will also come out at different times so everyone eating at different times. My waitress seemed to have forgot my change in the order an I was just to hungry to say anything so I just ate. Since I hit my plate last an asked for noddles but for rice. Still I’d eat here again!!!!

Bland food, got told there was a 10 minute wait but it was 25 and it was not even full sat. My partner got a noodle dish with chicken and shrimp. There was 3 small shrimp and 2 pieces of chicken. The dish had absolutely 0 flavour. Cool concept and overall Nice resturant but honestly do not recommend the food, was also way to loud. Our server Jen was brilliant atleast!

I went on September 21st, 2024, at the Wagamama Restaurant on Lothian Road. Despite ordering a vegan meal, I was served meat. When I initially brought this issue to the attention of the restaurant staff, they insisted that the dish contained mushrooms, not meat, and refused to acknowledge the mistake on two separate occasions. It was only after we escalated the matter to the manager and chef that they reluctantly admitted it could indeed be meat and apologized. I have taken photographs and videos to substantiate my claim, and I also have a copy of the invoice, which shows that the manager waived the charges after the incident. However, this situation goes beyond a financial issue—it is deeply offensive to my religious beliefs, which strictly prohibit contact with meat. This incident has caused significant emotional distress, especially as it directly violates my dietary restrictions as a vegan and my religious values. Chilli fried mushrooms are bliss.

Cool restaurant with a wide ranging menu. Had the hot chicken curry katsu and it was super good, and seriously spicy. Staff was extremely attentive to food allergies. Amazing precautions taken.

We went during the fringe so we did expect it to be busy. The food was as good as ever. There is an upstairs section that they did not have open (at such a busy time, which seemed crazy), and as a consequence, we, along with lots of other customers, had to wait outside for about 35 minutes. It is a great place, just seems a shame that they did not bolster their resource levels to accommodate demand at a time when they would know it is going to be busy.

Maggot in the edamame six year old child was eating. Apparently they "can't check every pod"? Best restaurant would do is comp the dish. Customer care haven't responded.

Nice staff but food was not very good and the place was extremely loud! It was almost empty and the music was so loud and the staff decided to sit next to us and polish cutlery and as soon as they were finished with one, they would just throw it in a box. I usually don’t might a loud place but this one was a bit too much.

Ate at another location 2 days prior and it was so good had to have it again. The bang bang cauliflower is wonderful, as are the curries. The pad Thai was good as well. The Macha latte strawberry drink (iced) is delightful and light. It's not something I would typically order, but ended up having it at both locations.

Wagamama Lothian road is the best one in Edinburgh. Always so welcoming! Janeta is hands down the best server I've ever had☺️ my go to is the kids yasai ramen, mushroom boa bun, edamame beans, apple juice and the fresh mint tea! Made with love!!

Went for lunch today and was impressed with the greeting at the door and led to our booth of choice. Menus were placed, and within a few minutes had drinks ordered while we were perusing the menu's. We placed our orders and didn't wait long for food to come out. They took care to check for food allergies, which is brilliant, as I am allergic to crustaceans. I had hotpot beef brisket, my wife katsu curry chicken. We were both very happy with our meals. Staff were friendly, and efficient. Would definitely go again. Loved it.

Excellent food and even better service from the staff. OrderedJanetta (Zee) and Zlania served us and they were absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. We will be returning because of them.

Went on busiest day for lunch. It was on waiting. Not friendly for kids. First dish came in quick but rest of them took at least 40-45 mins. Cocktails were great - We ordered Pandan Passion fruit colada & Thai Chilli margarita.

All the dishes are delicious. I tried more than one dish. They are excellent and the flavors are clear I recommend trying it in Edinburgh..

The food was delicious... when we finally received it. We were a party of 5 seated at 8pm with a half full restaurant. One person got food in a matter of minutes. The second dish came 45 minutes later. Then the third dish in another 10 minutes. It's now 9:30 pm, the kitchen is technically closed, and we're still waiting on 2 dishes. There's literally no one else left in the restaurant. We're totally confused and hungry. Turns out they prioritize to-go orders. This is the worst run restaurant/kitchen I've ever experienced. Definitely will not be back.

The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food (all vegan) was excellent. The service was great. Paying the bill was extremely easy considering that we split the bill and paid individually!

Really nice place with well seasoned and flavorful Japanese inspired food. Everything is a bit on the spicy side, so be careful with their firecracker sauce. We really liked the shareable plates, bao, chilli squid and gyoza.

We ordered takeout from here. Maybe we ordered the wrong things because I’ve heard only great things about this place. Got the yaki soba and vegan katsu curry. They were not good. Yakisoba lacked flavors and the vegan meat in the vegan katsu curry did not taste of anything but oil. The curry was ok, nothing great.

The food is consistently excellent, so fresh and tasty! The spicy margaritas are phenomenal! To top it all off the staff are so friendly, really knowledgeable about the menu, and great with recommendations. Thank you Janetta and team for looking after us!

If you’ve ever enjoyed authentic/high quality ramen and gyoza you’ll instantly recognize that this place’s food tastes low quality, inauthentic and very much like you’re eating at a chain. If this is your first time eating this type of Asian food maybe you’d think it was fine, it wasn’t horrible just to be avoided if you are looking for a quality meal. Given the low quality, I’d also say it was slightly overpriced. Wheelchair accessibility was superb, and the service was overall good as well, the food really just lacked.

This is by far the worst restaurant in this chain! We waited over hour to get a table! The food was undercooked and burnt and took 45min to get to the table for our last dish! Every other person in the party had finished! When this dish was send back to the kitchen we requested another plate of food, but here to we were give a dish we did not ask for! We have been keen Wagamama customers, but this was very very very poor! Think twice about going to this restaurant on Lothian Road!!

Got to Edinburgh late Friday night and lots of places closing as it was around 10:30pm , not been to wagamama before and despite late hour,Jen our server took time to explain dishes and even spoke to chefs to see if they could make a mild version of one for my wife (which they did),nothing too much trouble for Jen and despite lateness no rush to finish our meal ,final bill was pleasant suprise as well ,was so impressed went back day after ,and despite being a more sensible time and a lot busier was still excellent,great food ,great service ,and reasonably priced ,will be going again to local one

Overpriced rubbish. This is westerners take on Japanese food. Very bland, food brought out randomly, stupid idea. 3 people finished their food before mine even arrived. Don’t serve irn bru in the capital city?!

Came in at 3:20, Very bad food the food was so burnt and the noodles I ordered pad Thai and teriyaki soba noodles and yaki udon was so crispy like you eating crackers, that are burnt I am a regular customer in this Wagamama the customer service was horrific they had so much staff and none of them bother coming asking if everything was ok with our food or bothering to ask if we wanted any more drinks ,there a staff member who took are order she had blonde hair and we felt that she was discriminating us as we was Asian ,never eating here again left the restaurant so disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend anyone eating in Lothian road Wagamama.

Went to eat here having autsim asked for some where quite to eat a little away from People the guy seating us refused and told us we had to sit right next to other people. Even though they were less than half full. We love visiting other Wagamama's and never had this issue before but won’t ever be going to this one again

Morgan, the waitress who showed us in, was extremely discourteous. Her behavior felt outright rude as well. She was indifferent right from the moment we stepped in. She carelessly threw the menu cards on our table, scribbled a few details, and left. When asked about the table number to order, she rudely responded that she was supposed to take our order and abruptly left to serve another table. We were extremely put off by her behavior. This was unexpected at Wagamama because we've always had a good experience there. We simply left the place without ordering. People like this can ruin the reputation of establishments. We are never going to this place again.

Friendly service and tasty food.

Have visited quite a few times in last year. Even on a rare occasion where I was not happy with an aspect of my meal, it was sorted quickly. This is to their credit. Most recent visit excellent.

Wonderful food and staff. Went in last night around 1700 and got a booth for the 2 of us. Food was fabulous and Zoe our server was spot on. First time for my other half who can’t wait to go again!

I really liked this place; it had a good atmosphere and the good was good. The prices were not high. Quantity/Quality/price wise is a good option to eat if you're in Edinburgh.

It’s always a good experience at Wagamama, though everything’s so expensive. It works out about £40 for an adult and child to have lunch.

Went here for lunch on the 13th Jan. We were a large part of six and seated immediately. Our server Zenan was absolutely fantastic and really lovely. The food was amazing as always and a particular favourite of the table was the cherry blossom lemonade and the ramen.

Very good, will definitely come here again. I had the katsu scalad.
