Food perfect as always- Wagamama is my favourite thing to have when out and about with my partner. Service was absolutely fantastic I can’t fault the staff at all- we were a party of 11 for a birthday and they were honestly so lovely and efficient about it all. Food and drinks came without fault. A massive thank you to the staff that brought out my birthday cake! (I do apologise if that’s not the done thing usually) and I hope you all enjoyed the bits that were left for you. Genuinely the nicest staff and the best food I’ve had. Thank you so much for being part of a great weekend!

Top marks for the asst manager Zenette. After waiting for more than 30 mins she came by to say that our orders did not reached the kitchen. She apologized profusely and offered us complimentary appetizers and drinks without us asking. This is quite unusual for restaurants nowadays. Our server Lesi who has been working there for only 8 shifts came by regularly to make sure everything is alright. She showed exemplary care and service.

Food is ok, Zlatin and Holly are really nice people.

Bland food, got told there was a 10 minute wait but it was 25 and it was not even full sat. My partner got a noodle dish with chicken and shrimp. There was 3 small shrimp and 2 pieces of chicken. The dish had absolutely 0 flavour. Cool concept and overall Nice resturant but honestly do not recommend the food, was also way to loud. Our server Jen was brilliant atleast!

I went on September 21st, 2024, at the Wagamama Restaurant on Lothian Road. Despite ordering a vegan meal, I was served meat. When I initially brought this issue to the attention of the restaurant staff, they insisted that the dish contained mushrooms, not meat, and refused to acknowledge the mistake on two separate occasions. It was only after we escalated the matter to the manager and chef that they reluctantly admitted it could indeed be meat and apologized. I have taken photographs and videos to substantiate my claim, and I also have a copy of the invoice, which shows that the manager waived the charges after the incident. However, this situation goes beyond a financial issue—it is deeply offensive to my religious beliefs, which strictly prohibit contact with meat. This incident has caused significant emotional distress, especially as it directly violates my dietary restrictions as a vegan and my religious values. Chilli fried mushrooms are bliss.

Cool restaurant with a wide ranging menu. Had the hot chicken curry katsu and it was super good, and seriously spicy. Staff was extremely attentive to food allergies. Amazing precautions taken.

We went during the fringe so we did expect it to be busy. The food was as good as ever. There is an upstairs section that they did not have open (at such a busy time, which seemed crazy), and as a consequence, we, along with lots of other customers, had to wait outside for about 35 minutes. It is a great place, just seems a shame that they did not bolster their resource levels to accommodate demand at a time when they would know it is going to be busy.

Maggot in the edamame six year old child was eating. Apparently they "can't check every pod"? Best restaurant would do is comp the dish. Customer care haven't responded.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch yesterday. Great service and drinks. Especially recommend the ramen and raisu curry.

ツアーに行った後 さっと食事したかったのでホテルのそばにあり 利用しました。アジア 料理の店 と思った方がいいかもしれません。 ビール とか 日本のが多いですが、 その他は日本料理とは全く違う感じでした。 これが日本食と思われると日本人としてはかなりつらいですね。。。

Nice staff but food was not very good and the place was extremely loud! It was almost empty and the music was so loud and the staff decided to sit next to us and polish cutlery and as soon as they were finished with one, they would just throw it in a box. I usually don’t might a loud place but this one was a bit too much.

Chicken curry’s sauce is not enough, also food taste is bad

Ate at another location 2 days prior and it was so good had to have it again. The bang bang cauliflower is wonderful, as are the curries. The pad Thai was good as well. The Macha latte strawberry drink (iced) is delightful and light. It's not something I would typically order, but ended up having it at both locations.

Wagamama Lothian road is the best one in Edinburgh. Always so welcoming! Janeta is hands down the best server I've ever had☺️ my go to is the kids yasai ramen, mushroom boa bun, edamame beans, apple juice and the fresh mint tea! Made with love!!

Went for lunch today and was impressed with the greeting at the door and led to our booth of choice. Menus were placed, and within a few minutes had drinks ordered while we were perusing the menu's. We placed our orders and didn't wait long for food to come out. They took care to check for food allergies, which is brilliant, as I am allergic to crustaceans. I had hotpot beef brisket, my wife katsu curry chicken. We were both very happy with our meals. Staff were friendly, and efficient. Would definitely go again. Loved it.

Excellent food and even better service from the staff. OrderedJanetta (Zee) and Zlania served us and they were absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. We will be returning because of them.

Went on busiest day for lunch. It was on waiting. Not friendly for kids. First dish came in quick but rest of them took at least 40-45 mins. Cocktails were great - We ordered Pandan Passion fruit colada & Thai Chilli margarita.

All the dishes are delicious. I tried more than one dish. They are excellent and the flavors are clear I recommend trying it in Edinburgh..

The food was delicious... when we finally received it. We were a party of 5 seated at 8pm with a half full restaurant. One person got food in a matter of minutes. The second dish came 45 minutes later. Then the third dish in another 10 minutes. It's now 9:30 pm, the kitchen is technically closed, and we're still waiting on 2 dishes. There's literally no one else left in the restaurant. We're totally confused and hungry. Turns out they prioritize to-go orders. This is the worst run restaurant/kitchen I've ever experienced. Definitely will not be back.

The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food (all vegan) was excellent. The service was great. Paying the bill was extremely easy considering that we split the bill and paid individually!

Really nice place with well seasoned and flavorful Japanese inspired food. Everything is a bit on the spicy side, so be careful with their firecracker sauce. We really liked the shareable plates, bao, chilli squid and gyoza.

Food was undercooked and I was served raw chicken in the katsu curry, absolutely disgusting. Told the manager and she said she would speak to the head chef about it.

We ordered takeout from here. Maybe we ordered the wrong things because I’ve heard only great things about this place. Got the yaki soba and vegan katsu curry. They were not good. Yakisoba lacked flavors and the vegan meat in the vegan katsu curry did not taste of anything but oil. The curry was ok, nothing great.

The food is consistently excellent, so fresh and tasty! The spicy margaritas are phenomenal! To top it all off the staff are so friendly, really knowledgeable about the menu, and great with recommendations. Thank you Janetta and team for looking after us!

Only had dessert and I liked it

If you’ve ever enjoyed authentic/high quality ramen and gyoza you’ll instantly recognize that this place’s food tastes low quality, inauthentic and very much like you’re eating at a chain. If this is your first time eating this type of Asian food maybe you’d think it was fine, it wasn’t horrible just to be avoided if you are looking for a quality meal. Given the low quality, I’d also say it was slightly overpriced. Wheelchair accessibility was superb, and the service was overall good as well, the food really just lacked.

This is by far the worst restaurant in this chain! We waited over hour to get a table! The food was undercooked and burnt and took 45min to get to the table for our last dish! Every other person in the party had finished! When this dish was send back to the kitchen we requested another plate of food, but here to we were give a dish we did not ask for! We have been keen Wagamama customers, but this was very very very poor! Think twice about going to this restaurant on Lothian Road!!

Got to Edinburgh late Friday night and lots of places closing as it was around 10:30pm , not been to wagamama before and despite late hour,Jen our server took time to explain dishes and even spoke to chefs to see if they could make a mild version of one for my wife (which they did),nothing too much trouble for Jen and despite lateness no rush to finish our meal ,final bill was pleasant suprise as well ,was so impressed went back day after ,and despite being a more sensible time and a lot busier was still excellent,great food ,great service ,and reasonably priced ,will be going again to local one

Overpriced rubbish. This is westerners take on Japanese food. Very bland, food brought out randomly, stupid idea. 3 people finished their food before mine even arrived. Don’t serve irn bru in the capital city?!

Came in at 3:20, Very bad food the food was so burnt and the noodles I ordered pad Thai and teriyaki soba noodles and yaki udon was so crispy like you eating crackers, that are burnt I am a regular customer in this Wagamama the customer service was horrific they had so much staff and none of them bother coming asking if everything was ok with our food or bothering to ask if we wanted any more drinks ,there a staff member who took are order she had blonde hair and we felt that she was discriminating us as we was Asian ,never eating here again left the restaurant so disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend anyone eating in Lothian road Wagamama.

Went to eat here having autsim asked for some where quite to eat a little away from People the guy seating us refused and told us we had to sit right next to other people. Even though they were less than half full. We love visiting other Wagamama's and never had this issue before but won’t ever be going to this one again

Morgan, the waitress who showed us in, was extremely discourteous. Her behavior felt outright rude as well. She was indifferent right from the moment we stepped in. She carelessly threw the menu cards on our table, scribbled a few details, and left. When asked about the table number to order, she rudely responded that she was supposed to take our order and abruptly left to serve another table. We were extremely put off by her behavior. This was unexpected at Wagamama because we've always had a good experience there. We simply left the place without ordering. People like this can ruin the reputation of establishments. We are never going to this place again.

Friendly service and tasty food.

Have visited quite a few times in last year. Even on a rare occasion where I was not happy with an aspect of my meal, it was sorted quickly. This is to their credit. Most recent visit excellent.

the food is delicious, and the spicy mayo is spicier than I expected, but after about 5 minutes the spiciness went away, but people who are sensitive to spicy advise to be careful

Wonderful food and staff. Went in last night around 1700 and got a booth for the 2 of us. Food was fabulous and Zoe our server was spot on. First time for my other half who can’t wait to go again!

I really liked this place; it had a good atmosphere and the good was good. The prices were not high. Quantity/Quality/price wise is a good option to eat if you're in Edinburgh.

It’s always a good experience at Wagamama, though everything’s so expensive. It works out about £40 for an adult and child to have lunch.

Went here for lunch on the 13th Jan. We were a large part of six and seated immediately. Our server Zenan was absolutely fantastic and really lovely. The food was amazing as always and a particular favourite of the table was the cherry blossom lemonade and the ramen.

Very good, will definitely come here again. I had the katsu scalad.

The place was lovely and spacios. The staff was kind and helpful. The food was brilliant.The kids meals were great and it was a great experience to be at wagamama.

Squid was over cooked and the pad Thai was just bean sprouts with a complete lack of noodles. £28 for a bottle of white wine with no way to keep it cool. Very disappointed.

very bad experience. I ordered a prawn rice, the waitress confirmed order, she did even say the word prawn. But first they put a ramen in front of me. I said I did not order this. Then a chicken rice was put in front of me. I asked that waitress but she just say that what I ordered was chicken and she does not admit that she said the word prawn. This is outrageous!

Das Essen bei dieser Kette war bisher immer gut und die Ramen sind auch eine ordentliche Portion. Außerdem wird auf Allergien etc gut geachtet! Das Essen hat lecker geschmeckt! An unserem Platz hat es lediglich dauerhaft gezogen durch die offene Tür im Winter.

food was awful, just spicy with no flavour, I don't know if its gone downhill or if I just didn't realise how bad it was before (I know I was trying to like it, but I remember it being a bit nicer) the woman I dealt with at the door while collecting my order was absolutely lovely though ^_^ when she came over while another staff member dealt with the person in front, I thought she was about to tell me to get my assistance dog out (sadly a common occurrence when out and about despite all businesses being legally required to allow assistance dogs), but no she just came to serve me and was very pleasant and went to chase up my food for me cuz I'd arrived way too early. it's just a shame the food quality didnt match the excellent service, especially when the ramen cost £16.50 :/ they could at least throw in a cool re-usable spoon rather than a disposable cardboard one, it wouldn't cost them much (I've bought £2 instant noodles before that came with a cool spoon and bowl) but would make me a bit less bitter about the ridiculous price :p

Enjoyed the food, some servers were really nice but others seemed quite awkward. The Oyster mushroom starter was lush!!

I loved the menu! We had the premium cut steak hot pot which was spicy and warming up my soul and the chicken katsu curry which was really good but can be strong if you a re not used to spices. For drinks we ordered the amazing cherry blossom lemonade. We finished with a chouxnut and the smoked chocolate caramel cake, personal preference for the cake.

Wagamama invariably is consistent - which must be hard for chain restaurants. Never had a bad experience at any and this one is added to the list. Staff friendly and helpful. Food quality great.

This was our first time visiting Scotland and Wagamama. The wait was not terrible and once we were seated, we were greeted by Zee who was absolutely fantastic. Service was prompt and she was a delight throughout our entire dinning experience.

Nicht die Art von Restaurants die ich mag. Alles auf :"ess schnell und geh wieder" gemacht. Der Innenraum erinnerte mich an eine Bahnhofshalle... Und grau so laut war es auch. Unbequeme Stühle und Bänke. Ohne Lehne. Egal... Die Kinder fanden es toll... Ich muss da nicht wieder hin. Essen war ok. Zahlen über QR Code am Papier Set scannen... Natürlich 🙄... Kein Problem

It’s good for vegans as it has many options but the noodles were tough, the mango, orange and apple juice tasted purely of apple juice. Overall not the best. EDIT: Noodles were painfully undercooked and dishes were under salted/seasoned aswell.

I like Wagamama. I remember my first visit in Soho over 20 years ago. Lovely friendly servers (special thanks to Jennifer) but my grilled chicken ramen…. salty lukewarm broth. I might have needed kidney dialysis, had I not left most of the broth and its unnecessary salt load.

I had the pleasure of dining at Wagamama in Scotland recently, and I must say, it was a fantastic culinary experience! The hot chicken katsu curry was a mouthwatering delight, with its perfectly crispy chicken and flavorful curry sauce. The Chicken prawn pad thai was a true fusion of flavors and textures, creating a harmonious dish that left me craving for more. For those seeking a vegetarian option, the tofu raisukaree curry was an absolute winner. It was rich, creamy, and bursting with delicious curry goodness. And let's not forget the prawn firecracker, which lived up to its name with its spicy and tantalizing flavors. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was inviting. My visit to Wagamama in Scotland left us with a memorable dining experience that I'll cherish. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable menu. Highly recommended!

We’re Wagamama’s regulars & this one didn’t disappoint. It was quite empty as it was late Wednesday night when we went, but the services was fast, friendly & really efficient. The kitchen did a great job on the meals as they were full of flavour & tasted fresh. The booths are a nice touch as you feel like you’re getting a much more private dining experience so we were grateful when the host allowed us to sit in one after we requested it. Overall a great place to get a good meal.

Few staff though welcoming. Main super-tasty & filling portion, Hen Udon Noodles & Ginger, 3 other diners I ate with equally pleased with their starters & mains. Small green teas refreshing, in lovely stonewear beakers. Delish, zippy fresh fruit/veg juice. Niggle= BBQ pork buns I ordered for 'starter', (NB I joined 3 others last) arrived part way through my devouring Noodle dish. :(

Went during lunch hours, wasn't too busy and they had room for a baby too, food was superb (despite not being able to finish it) and the staff were kind, friendly, and approachable

Chicken katsu curry was the worst I have ever had. I lived and travelled in Japan for many years and even the worst one there was much better. The rice was terrible. Sauce tasted off. First and last visit.

You're sat too close together, knocking elbows with strangers on big long tables, truly awful. However the food is actually good and the service is fine, as long as you don't expect food to come out at the same time.

Absolutely perfect, hot & spicy ramen got my stomach pumping like a steam engine, nice and informative staff , the chefs groove with the music while cooking, and the food(asian food) is incredible
