Wagamama in Edinburgh, City of

Look myself on a solo date for lunch. Went along on a Saturday at peak time. When I arrived I didn’t wait long to be seated. The host Yaimg was very friendly and asked my seating preference because as a short person I prefer a bench to a stool. I was seated by a window and it was a lovely day so I got some nice sunshine. I have an allergy and told him when I was seated and he explained their process very well (that only a manger would take my order and he gave me an iPad so I could check the ingredients). Another staff member took my drinks order which was an yuzu and lychee tonic (so delicious) and said a manger would be along to take my food order which I also didn’t have to wait long for. I ordered the pork belly panko bao buns and the teriyaki soba chicken noodles dish. Both delicious and arrived very quickly. They were so good. I ordered another of the bao buns. However these did take ages to arrive due to a mix up but the staff were amazing and comped them and an additional drink for the wait. They were nothing but nice about it. These things happen but they felt with it very well from a customers point of view. Overall lovely solo lunch. Will be back again!

This was the last time we will visit Wagamama, there was nothing wrong with the food and nothing wrong with the service. It’s the prices, We paid £84 for two starters two adult mains and 2 kids meals and one round of drinks. Why does street food have to be such a rip off, and I swear the portion sizes have got smaller. So we made a decision last night that even though the service is good and the food is tasty we cannot justify the price.

We came in with just under an hour left till closing. We were greeted and served by Jaime who was very welcoming, full of energy, and very happy to serve us. He is the main reason we are writing this review. It was very clear that he enjoyed his job and went above and beyond to provide a great customer see experience for us. The food was made quickly and we both really enjoyed it.

What a fantastic day. Carlos was a brilliant waiter. Very attentive. Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend. 😁😁

Wednesday evening about 7:30pm we arrived for dinner without a reservation. Waited at the door for a few minutes. Host welcomed us well and sorted us at a long bench table. Menu presented and water served wile we studied the menu. Double cleanse drinks was served and was not enjoyable. The drinks were served warm. Ramen with belly pork was served and was disappointing. Noodles wasn’t good. Overcooked. Chicken Katsu Curry was not exciting .

The spot is good to grab a quick meal. The service was good and both my kids enjoyed their meal. Definitely recommended.

A couple weeks back a friend and I came in prior to closing, food was good as always but the service was exceptional. The lovely lass serving us, who was definitely not called Grace was one of the best servers I've seen in a long time and as someone who works in the industry, I wish there were more like her, even more impressive it isn't even her main job! The manager on shift also remembered us, but unfortunately didn't get his name. All the best, Christopher

Disappointing. My husband and I ordered food through Deliveroo. Food arrived cold and soggy. It used to be a nice food here but now wouldn’t recommend

I ate here last night with 3 friend’s and it was our best Wagamama experience ever One of our friends had a gluten allergy and she felt that she was given excellent attention. Our servers I think Jamie or a Spanish version of that name and another young lady were absolutely fantastic and the food was lovely too

My wife, 2 y/o son and I went for lunch before going shopping. Had heard great things from friends and family so we were eager to see what all the fuss was about. Walking up, it looks lovely and has that warm feeling. Unfortunately that feeling of warmth soon left as we had to stand in the doorway for about 20minutes to be sat, even though there were plenty of tables ready which were available to be sat at. We then got sat on a bench toward the kitchen end of the restaurant. Another 10minute wait the waiter then came over, who was friendly but alarm bells soon started ringing when he didn’t write down any of our order. We ordered: • Teriyaki Salmon Soba (main) • Chilli Chicken Ramen (main) • Chilli Squid (side) • Korean BBQ Beef & Red Onion Hirata Steamed Buns (side) • Crispy Fish Bites with Amai Sauce (kids meal) • 3 soft drinks We waited about 10 minutes, my wife’s main appeared by itself, still no drinks at this point. A further 10minutes pass then our drinks arrive. That’s 50minutes so far and still no sign of our child’s meal, my meal or either of the sides. Then the squid arrives by itself after a further 10minutes. Followed by the other side 5 minutes later. The waiter (who impressively didn’t need a notepad) then came over to apologise for the wait we were experiencing… nice touch shame he didn’t do this 30minutes earlier. 10minutes later, our sons meal turns up with mine shortly afterwards. (1hr 15m) In all fairness both sides were very tasty, the mains however weren’t a very good experience. The Teriyaki salmon was very bland the noodles it came with were the best part. My wife enjoyed her Chilli Chicken Ramen at first, but as she began to feel guilty eating in front of our very hungry and now grumpy 2 y/o and I, it went cold then majority went to waste. When I went to pay the bill, they have a very clever system in place where you can scan the QR code on your table mat then all you have to do is type your table number in…. Shame the impressive waiter forgot to write our table number down. I personally won’t go back to another wagamamas restaurant, tried it and do not understand what all the hype is about.

Went to Wagamama for late lunch . The service was ok …… the food was delicious- no complaints at all . My friends enjoyed their lunch also

Me and my husband and daughter visited here today for tea this was lovely at first but got worse . First of all the lad that served us was not writing any of what we were ordering down and sure enough the food came out wrong we had 2 of the same starter which was wrong and after telling him my husband was gluten free his food come out with gluten in the sauce so it had to go back next it then duck one come out and that had gluten in it also but there was 3 different people who served us and the manager come over and handed us a gluten free menu to which my husband picked something with brown rice and it came out with white rice . We had to wait ages for 2 nd round of drinks as the manager didn’t put the order through then an extra sprite come out we had not ordered. The manager was supposed to serve us and only came over when he was told about him been gluten free . The food was absolutely lovely but this set up was absolutely terrible what a shambles and we still had to pay £63 we sat there for 2 hours it should have all been free disgusting and my husband has been in bed all day today in pain can I please have a reply to this or I will have to take this further it was our holiday and was not good today

Had fantastic service from everyone we met here and they were dealing with very difficult situation of the kitchen having run out of a number of things. All staff were well informed, cheery and helpful and should be commended for coping so well.

I love food from Wagamama - sticky vegan ribs and gyozas are amazing;). Fort Kinnaird team adds a personal touch to a service provided -love handwritten notes from click and collect. Can't wait until can go for a dine in!

I have been in St Andrews, Lothian r and ocean terminal for so many times but this one is the best. Have to travel a bit longer but it is definitely worth it! If you didn’t visit Wagamama at Fort Kinnaird, you should! ;)

Fort Kinnaird branch opened recently in Edinburgh and we went for a takeaway during Covid 19 social distancing restrictions. The takeaway did not disappoint. The firecrackers were a nice as you would expect. Wagamama isn't the cheapest place to eat but you are left wanting...

We ordered takeaway. Pick up was easy and on time. Food was cold, hardly any sauce. No where near the quality of other Wagamama restaurants.

Our server was Adeta (apologies for spelling), she was so pleasant, kind and welcoming! We had such a gorgeous meal very impressed for luckily grabbing a table at the friends and family event before public opening. One of the best Wagamamas we’ve had.
