Wagamama in York

Personal amable. Me dio suficiente tiempo para elegir en el menú. La comida era buena. Los niños tenían ramen, que se veía bien. Tenía ramen de carne de res, y podría haber tenido un poco más de carne, aparte de ese lugar.

i ordered wagamama through deliveroo for the first time and there was a hair in my pad thai as well as burnt, inedible gyoza. i have emetophobia so the hair made the food completely inedible for me, a waste of money :(

Only 3 bits of chicken with the noodle dish and the meal was so greasy. Disappointed there was no plum wine or mochi pudding on the menu

lovely food! great drinks!! definitely a good place to go wether youre looking for some light sharing plates with friends or something a bit heavier.

Absolutely dire. Plastic food that is more akin to a motorway cafe. This place has gone downhill faster than an Olympic champion. Avoid unless you have an overwhelming desire to spend 24 hours on the toilet!

Friendly service, lovely hot and fresh food

Ordered pork ramen via Deliveroo and got this: extremely small portion (4!!! slices of pork and tiny bit of noodles/veg), missing tea-stained egg. It looked as if sb just put whatever leftover together. This is ridiculous.

Gran opción para veganos y genial que se pueden ver las calorías en el menú para tomar una decisión informada al hacer Noom. Tomé la soba vegana de yaki con fideos de arroz y pedí los bollos de bao de hongos, pero solo tomé 1/2 de uno que tenía aproximadamente 50 calorías. La soba de yaki carecía de sabor pero me satisfacía sin sentirme demasiado lleno. Pedí el grano de pimienta rosa y el té de fresa rooibos, ya que era cero calorías y era encantador! No nos preocupamos por el desierto, ya que no había nada vegano que mi marido quisiera. Gran servicio, buenas opciones veganas y un entorno agradable.

This place is absolutely amazing! We were seated as soon as we came in, and if you have any allergies, they have a manager come and take your order to make sure everything goes smoothly. Me and my partner ordered miso soup as a side dish and it was AMAZING, I loved it so much. I then ordered the coconut kare curry with the tender vegan chicken, the portions are so big, it was really good, I just couldn't finish it! 😆 My partner got the teppanyaki noodles, yaki soba mushroom, with no egg. It was really filling and the service was amazingly quick. I also got an iced coffee with oat milk and it's the best iced coffee I've ever had. The servers were so polite and nice too, there isn't one thing that I would change about this place. I really recommend it.

We were seated immediately by server and shortly ordered our drinks and food. Only took 10-15 mins for all of the stuff to come out to us. Everything was cooked well and tasted delicious. Our server was also very friendly and keen to help. Definitely will be coming back

The food is absolutely amazing along with the service, very friendly and welcoming. One thing however is that it is somewhat dirty, with trash laying around and dirty cutlery left on the table.

Wagamama are pretty reliable all around the country but we are very spoiled in York to have such a belter - lovely place to sit, food is great and every staff member we have encountered has been spot on. Extra special mention for Ben who we have had looking after us on the last 2 visits - very attentive, funny, offers solid menu advice, great with younger diners and very patient. Highly recommended dining experience.

My first Wagamama experience was when I visited the Harrogate branch a couple of years ago, when I left feeling very underwhelmed. Fast forward a couple of years and we were in York, all hungry, and walking past Wagamama, so my wife and son suggested we go in for dinner. This was a million miles away from my first experience: great service and amazing food - the best I've had in ages. We shared roti + raisukatsu and I had silken tofu gochujang rice bowl for my main course. The food was simply amazing, so fresh and incredibly tasty. I'm now a Wagamama convert...

Great food but had the rudest interaction with Mike on the phone. I always order chilli chicken ramen from deliveroo and call to remove beansprouts which is done every time, however, I talked to Mike today and he did not listen to me, asked me to stop talking as I was explaining the issue and then hung up on me, with no confirmation whether the beansprouts were removed or not. The order came with beansprouts.

Mi primera experiencia en Wagamama fue cuando visité la sucursal de Harrogate hace un par de años, cuando me fui sintiéndome muy abrumado. Avanzamos un par de años y estábamos en York, todos hambrientos, y caminando por Wagamama, así que mi esposa e hijo sugirieron que fuéramos a cenar. Esto fue a un millón de millas de mi primera experiencia: gran servicio y comida increíble - lo mejor que he tenido en siglos. Compartimos roti + raisukatsu y yo había seda tofu gochujang plato de arroz para mi plato principal. La comida era simplemente increíble, tan fresco y increíblemente sabroso. Ahora soy un converso de Wagamama...

First ever visit to Wagamama and boy, I was impressed. Thanks to Jasmine Trinity for her amazing service, she helped us from start to finish and was a joy. Great asset to the company.

As a loyal customer of wagamama all over the country, this time in York I was so disappointed with the quality of the service we got. Service was alright and it was a good start when food arrived in less than 10min of ordering. But it went downhill from the point we tasted the food... First of all the food was overly salty, to the point that we had to leave some of the food on a plate because of that reason. Secondly, as a person who is not keen on meat I ordered a salad bowl with pulled shiitake mushrooms, which was mixed with other mushrooms underneath and the flavour profiles didn't match between the bits for supposed shiitake mushrooms. My partner had a beef brisket rice bowl which was so salty that it was impossible to eat, even plain rice didn't help to balance the taste. Overall, a highly disappointing visit this time, food was the worst i ever had from any wagamama restaurants i ever been to... I really hope that this place will improve, to the same standard as the other locations.

Food is good, well prepared, healthy and tasty. However they have a system and a process and if you are new to their system it is a tad disconcerting. Lots of staff but had to ask three times for glasses of water!

1st Nov 24, Party of 6 showed to our table by staff, close to the toilets and was aware of smell of drains .. ordering from the menu was poor as there was item shortage.. on visiting the toilets saw toilet bowls backed up with sewage hence the smell,.. reported to manager who said they were aware of the drainage issues ongoing fro August

Fui con un amigo y cada uno pedimos el mismo plato, que supuestamente venía con pollo y gambas. Apenas se notaba que hubiera pollo, eran solo unos hilos, sin trozos. Tengo dos gambas y mi amigo recibió tres. El plato estaba soso y tuvimos que dosificarlo con salsa de soja para darle sabor. El restaurante está bien y el personal era amable y atento, pero la comida era mala.

La comida y los sabores aquí son increíbles. Nuevo menú así que defo probar la olla caliente y pollo de miel petardo. El personal es amable y está muy bien sentado.

The food is everything here. It's really, very good. Unlike the service and the canteen like atmosphere, which are both lacking. There are better places to eat, but it's reliable and tasty, if expensive.

We do not recommend this restaurant as we had an aweful experience. Urinals out of order. Toilets not flushing. Starters and mains served at same time. Unable to validate voucher..therefore charging us twice

Typically efficient service at this Wagamama. Sat down instantly, beer and noodles out within 10 mins of ordering. Great service too, very friendly and explained everything clearly. I can’t remember the name of my waitress but my order ID was 8980

Experiencia horrible, no recomendaría a nadie. No queda ningún número de mesa en mi hoja, así que no pude pagar a través del código QR. Pagado en su totalidad a través del mostrador, y tenía un recibo físico en la mano. Tuve que ser apartado delante de los clientes para comprobar que realmente había pagado. Qué horrible experiencia. NO recomendaría este lugar a nadie. La coordinación del personal es ridícula por lo vacío que estaba el lugar. Este NO es un lugar para tener una buena comida en York.

Left no table number, so could not pay via the QR code. Paid via the counter and had a physical receipt in hand. Had to be stopped whilst walking out to check that I've actually paid. This is not a welcoming environment, and would not recomend this place to anyone.

Cool big space with a diverse menu but the food is awful. Ramen came out with a tiny bit of soup, overcooked noodles, and lukewarm at best. The curry is also lacking in flavour and the rice is overcooked. The best way I can describe the food is that it’s perfect for those that are not familiar with Asian cuisine.

I travel a lot for work and as a Wagamama fan I’ve eaten in a lot of of them around the UK. But the York city centre Wagamama is the best one I’ve been to. Yes, it’s a chain Restuarant, but they can vary quite a bit. The food here is PARTICULARLY good and the seating in the front windows is a great place for 1 or 2 people to sit and watch the buzzy world go by from. It’s very comfortable for single people dining alone. And like everybody in York, the waiting staff here are super friendly and engaging. Highly recommended.

Wagamama is one of those multiples that always seems to be consistent whenever I eat there. From the friendly welcoming service, to the freshly cooked foods arriving to the table quickly, never a disappointment, though portions may have shrunk a little or my eyes got bigger! For a high street outlet value is always a little contentious, but on the basis of a a quality meal in a nice location cannot complain. Update. Returned once again. Excellent throughout.

Today I was served by Max—huge cheers to you! Thanks for the amazing service. I ordered the Chilli Chicken, and Max recommended a side of crispy chilli mushrooms, which was an absolute banger! This was my first time at Wagamama, and I’ve always wanted to try their ramen. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was top-notch. Definitely a great experience overall!

I had the duck bao buns which may have contained traces of duck, there was little filling in there and so were disappointing. My friend had the shiok chicken and said it lacked flavour. I usually love Wagamama but this experience was disappointing.

Had dinner with my partner before heading back to Glasgow, and the waiters were lovely with such bubbly personalities. The meals were great, and we even tried some new items from the menu. The next day, we realized my partner had left their work phone on the table. The staff were amazing, handling the situation quickly and sending the phone through to Glasgow. We really appreciated how helpful they were and will definitely be back next time we're in York. Thank you so much!

Having had a couple of disappointing dining experiences on a recent trip to York; despite visiting restaurants that had impressed on previous occasions, we decided to eat at Waga. The food is of a consistent standard so we knew what we'd be getting. Wagamama in York is a firm favourite. The food here is excellent (on this occasion we had Duck Gyoza's, Terriyaki Salmon and Beef Hotpot with veggies on the side) but the service is first class and this is what rather sets it apart from some others. Love Waga York!

Had a nice meal with my son, one of the servers jasmine, I asked for her name as I left so I could write this review, she was very positive, with a lovely smile, loved how she engage with me and my son. I'm not one to write reviews, so was impressed.

In my two weeks in York, I ate at Wagamama more times than anywhere else. It was that good! It was the perfect place to sit and chat with friends, and enjoy an evening of excellent food! The food was fast, fresh, light and unbelievably tasty. The Asian menu was quite varied, with soups and curries and excellent broths. Wow!

Tina was amazing such good recommendation

Wonderful experience, went there with my partner for lunch and had Tina as our server, she was brilliant, extremely patient and smiling, good humoured too. Had a minor issue with the tofu hotpot when there was no tteobokki, however Tina quickly sorted this and whilst he didn't need to Dan, the chef delivered it back to our table in very good time. Seems to be two very good members of staff, definitely lucky to have had their service. All round very good time and will definitely be coming again.

The usual wagamama food, piping hot. However, the service was rather poor. 4 different people came to our table and getting the bill was a 10 minute game of trying to catch someone's attention.

Placed our order with the waiter and then waited, and waited, and waited. We watched tables around us order after us and get their food and drinks where we sat with an empty table. After 30 minutes we asked our waiter what was happening, where he disappeared for a few minutes, came back and said that the order hadn’t gone to the kitchen. No real apology, just the suggestion that we needed to order again. We asked to see the manager but surprise surprise the manager didn’t arrive at the table either. Eventually just walked out.

Food was great. Perfect dinner for 4!

Wagamama in York is truly a fantastic restaurant. The food is delicious, the space is large and comfortable, and every staff member is friendly and welcoming. I especially recommend Chris, who provided excellent service!

Staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Service was good and food was great. Most importantly they are open until 11pm when vast majority of other restaurants in the area close at 10pm.

Wagamamas is for sure my favourite chain restaurant and its always lovely to have a walk around harrogate before coming here for lunch!

We were served by Jasmine with her huge smile and electric energy she made us feel extremely welcome, her knowledge of the cuisine, (especially tea eggs) was nothing short of amazing. Her and my old uni Pal (who usually resides in China) really kicked it off over the Eggs. She offered me some very user friendly chopsticks too, which were way better than the real thing. If I could make one criticism, her drink suggestion wasn't so great, but I appreciate her enthusiasm never the less. Thank you Jasmine!

Again great service from restaurants "Oop north" , the chap who dealt with us was friendly and helpful and the food was as usual very tasty! Recommend this Wagamama (yes I'm a "southerner" from Bournemouth but we've dined at a Pizza Express in Nottingham and this Wagamama in York, both times impressed by the friendly staff!)

The food quality of this location is so good comparing with the other locations. I really like most the vegan dishes of this restaurant . My dish this time was “Kare burosu ramen without tofu “.

MISO CARAMEL ICE CREAM TASTES LIKE CARAMEL FLAVOURED CARDBOARD BUT IN A VERY PLEASANT WAY :) WOULD RECOMMEND

Beautiful place and great food. Not used to this fine cuisine, it was a treat. I had a seared tataki. I found my katsu banana a bit dry and needed more caramel sauce, so I hawk tuah on that thing.

At first the service was wonderful until I had an issue with my meal. When I complained my duck that was deep fried to the point of shoe leather I was signposted by a blond member of staff she would raise my issue and return. She never did come back to my table. For a £50 meal I was left in utter disappointment barely eating my meal or side if gyoza, everything was fatty oily, overcooked and entirely unpalatable. And not recommended at all.

Mitten in York gelegenes Restaurant mit dem gewohnt superleckeren japanischen Essen. Der Service war an dem Abend etwas zurückhaltend, was sehr wahrscheinlich daran lag, das ich relativ spät erst zum Essen erschien, aber Essen und Getränk waren fein.

It’s not Chinese food, it’s not Korean food, it’s not Japanese food, and it doesn’t even count as Thai food. The food is the taste of the food, and the noodles are the taste of the noodles.

Brilliant, friendly service, really fast and the food was excellent

One of the best restaurants that I ever visited, food was so delicious and tasty, we ordered prawns and chicken pad Thai and teriyaki soba , we both enjoyed and the waitress helped us to pay the bill by card instead of paying online which was a little confusing for us. 😊😊😊 definitely we go again.

Ate here about 6 years. Liked it then. so a revisit. We don't have this chain in our home city. I seems to be mainly a you persons place. We were two oldies. But staff were delightful. Holly & Max. Food good. Drinks too. Atmosphere fairly good. But personally I and she doesn't lke loud music. didn't like the 'very modern' music. It wasn't TOO loud. I did get used to it. It didn't bother my partner. Lovely surprise at the end. Holly came back with a ticket which gives us £15.00 off our next Wagamama meal. She said it was because we had been lovely customers. More like, take pity on the 'oldies'... 😄😄😄 I did explain we didn't have one near our home city. But it's valid for a few months, so we have a few places we might still visit in 2024, and so may be able to use it.

Considering this is a chain, the food is absolutely the best and very very tasty veggie or vegan options. We are going to try recreate your dishes back home in the US, an absolute must visit

Always go in for my takeaway order and Ellie has been my server multiple times. i usually wait outside so i can have a smoke while waiting and bring me my order out always fantastic service and knows my order when she sees me. Always going back.

Me and my Partner come here all the time its one of our favourite places to eat, and yet again you always impress we decided to come with some friends and we were treated by amazing service thanks to Marta and the team, the food was incredible and we love the new menu
