Vutie Beets in North Hertfordshire

The food is always on point, the baps and the sweet treats are 10/10. My only complaint sadly is recently, going on a weekend has become very busy with small children/babies so it can get LOUD, and doesn’t exactly give you the best atmosphere when trying to enjoy your breakfast/lunch after a long working week! Especially for the price, if you’re spending £30 pp for brunch to then be subjected to babies crying etc… doesn’t exactly make you feel relaxed. Which is a shame, as I do love this cafe and think the chefs are very talented, I just don’t love the recent demographic it’s attracted… maybe I’ll try and visit during non peak hours

I'm a meat eater, but if I could cook like their chefs I would easily be able to give up meat. I had the "chicken" and "cheese" toastie. So flavourful, and if I didn't know it was vegan I wouldn't have realised. Banana bread cookie was excellent too.

We travelled to visit this vegan establishment & I’m so glad we did! Not being used to being spoilt for choice, we consumed far more than we needed! Everything was incredible, the coffee (roasted on site), the buns & bread (made on site), the staff. We’ll definitely have another day trip to Letchworth & visit to Vutie Beets. Thanks for the lovely warm welcome & service.

Heard good things about Vutie Beets from vegan friends, so very pleased to finally get the opportunity to visit. It's comfortable with lots of indoor and outdoor seating, friendly, and with a fully vegan menu which has plenty of options for everyone. I had the Sri Lankan Dahl (delicious), while the mister had the chick'n and pesto toastie and declared it the best ever. Looking forward to coming back!

Delicious vegan food right in the heart of Letchworth. Tucked away in the Wynd, it's worth a minor detour. Sells sourdough bread some days! 🍞

I loved everything about this cafe; I was passing through town for work and stayed for a couple of hours working. The service, food, drinks and atmosphere were all excellent. If I’m ever visiting this part of the country again I will certainly go out of my way to come here so I can continue to work my way through the menu.

Friendly staff serving us brunch. We did have to wait quite a while for the pancakes. On arrival the dish looks lovely but the pancakes were cold and chewy Its good that its all vegan but menu is abit too unusual and probably wont return

Wow some people are very fussy in the reviews (or just unlucky?)! I've come here many times over the past year and never had a problem with the food nor the coffee. They change their menu often enough for me to not complain, of which they always have delicious choices. I'd also definitely recommened trying their fresh treats by the counter! 🥐 I've also always found the staff to be friendly too, so I don't know what people are talking about. It's possible they took something the wrong way.

Vutie Beets maintains it's original community plant based coffee house form and pleasant environment even though it has grown. Dishes do change but the quality is always amazing from this small kitchen in a very popular diner.

Lovely cafe which I stumbled upon during my trip to Letchworth. The cauliflower ragu bread was delicious and the flat white with oat milk was so silky. The barista was really friendly and asked if I needed any help when I was browsing their in house roasted coffee range. Lastly, the toilets were clean and nicely decorated. The whole place has a really cool vibe. I'll be visiting again.

10/10 and I’m not even a vegan. Could have eaten 5 of those Biscoff cookies.

Absolutely loved my brief visit here. Came in a few weeks ago in the afternoon where they were closing soon and ordered a Biscoff bun and cinnamon bun, they were very tasty and very good sizes with good prices. Excellent customer service, the young lady greeted us with a big smile and decided to give us two extra buns for free as they were closing soon and the buns would be thrown out if we didn’t accept, Very thoughtful and kind of her. I will definitely be returning. Place was very hygienic too.

Really enjoyed visiting, will definitely visit again. The food was amazing, we had the bubble and squeak rosti and also the pancakes. Oreo Milkshake was just right and so good, the vanilla milkshake was okay but could have done with more vanilla, you could still taste the soy milk quite obviously… which wasn’t the case with the Oreo one. We also had the ginger cake & apple crumble swirl. Ginger cake was nice but the apple crumble swirl was incredible and definitely overshadowed it. Only downside is I’m not a fan of ordering at the counter, I get it’s a cafe but when you’re having a sit down meal I would have appreciated the table service and also would likely have tipped, whereas I don’t feel comfortable tipping upfront.

Great food served by lovely, helpful staff. Their menu changes a few times a year, for a little seasonality. So nice to be able to take our dog with us as it’s a dog friendly venue.

Amazing vegan food. We loved the choice and tasty choices. Staff are friendly and atmosphere at the cafe was very nice. It is a must for veg and vegan lovers. All menu is vegan only.

Amazing. Friendly, good food and coffee

I visited VB by bicycle with a group of eight others. Located in a quiet side street, it's a present location for a city centre. When I visited, VB was quite busy which meant a wait to be served. Once I was served. I was dealt with efficiently. Note that this is a vegan only establishment, but don't let that put you off the vittles that they serve are excellent, vegan or not. I had a good latte made with oat milk and an amazing Biscoff bun. Our group sat outside under a canopy. Probably because it was so busy, coffee took a little while to arrive. I can highly recommend VB for the food. I would be more than happy too, indeed, I look forward to returning. I would go more often if it went so far from Cambridge.

The cinnamon rolls are to die for. I buy the coffee beans to have at home but also the staff make great espresso. Love it to bits

I’ve only put food at 4 as I’ve only tried the baked goods! But top tier I also love the places as I was a barista for years and l spent a lot of time in cafes, this place is a really amazing vibe. I travel from Luton just for the cakes!!!

My first visit here, but definitely not my last. I popped in for a coffee and ended up staying for a black bean quesadilla for lunch. It was delicious!! Fresh guacamole and crispy salad on a well filled and well sized black bean ‘wrap’. Service great too, really friendly! Thank you.

everything good but menu needs to be more clear for example ( everything is vegan including the extras and the drinks)

I like vitie beets, the people are always friendly and the food tastes good. I like that it's vegan and gluten free and they organize nice things for the community. I also really enjoy the roasted coffee and the smoothies.

A local artist Cathy Smale recommended the place when we visited her for Herts Open. It’s honestly the best vegan food and treats! And amazing coffee 💚 so happy it’s vegan. Will be my new regular!

I’d heard about this place online, so thought I’d check it out for brunch while in Letchworth for a short visit. Glad I did. As my first meal of the day, I wasn’t up to trying the meatier, spicier sounding offerings, but the mixed berry pancakes were just lovely; an indulgent, but relatively healthy treat. The latte coffee was great, too, and the staff were cheerful and friendly. The unisex toilets deserve a mention, too; always a plus point in my estimation when toilets are clean and attractive. I’ll try to make a second visit if time permits during my stay.

We like loaded hash browns. We think the bap is on the small side, some garnish may make it look more tasty. Overall a good brunch experience.

Nice place for coffee - they roast their own beans too. Vegan so they use oat milk. Plenty of seating inside and out.

Lovely vegan restaurant in Letchworth with friendly staff and tasty food that came in a timely manner and was not outrageously expensive. Have only recently been able to go there when there have been tables free ! We will be back.

Tried the breakfast bap and it was a hit I've tried tofu scramble before and didn't like it AT ALL, but in this bap it was A1 I stuffed it before I could even take a pic!

Great food, great coffee with friendly service in a very cute location. Plenty of indoor and outside seating and a big car park right behind the cafe. An amazing find for vegans and non-vegans. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Chance visit after a meeting in the area. I was seriously impressed with this vegan cafe, one of the better ones I've been too globally this year. The menu choices are thankfully none of the normal boring obvious dishes but well thought out more original items. What came on the plate surpassed expectations both in visual terms and very much in taste. Was driving but love that can get (decent indy vegan) beer. The coffee smelled excellent, good cakes too. Polite , helpful service from attractive and smart & sharp team. It's on my map for future visits when in this part of the world!

Came in for a coffee and was spoken to very rudely by a girl behind the counter saying "we are very busy and you go and get a table" it's our first time and will never be coming back. It's a shame as we live local

Had a really nice brunch here. The food was hearty and creative. Will definitely go back to try some of their sweet options. I felt it was great value for the price. Very busy on a Saturday so there could be a wait for a seat.

I have been before and have enjoyed the breakfast here. However, had dinner here today and was very disappointed to learn from the server that the quesadillas are pre-made. My jerk bowl had elements that appeared microwaved/heated up and my stomach is now feeling unsettled as the food was not heated hot enough - it was lukewarm. Disappointing as would love to support a vegan place.

I am not a vegan but my friend is. Clean and tidy cafe. Good selection of food available. Do really lovely pancakes and mixed berries. Nice outdoor sitting area. Dogs welcome

My son and I used to love coming here, such a shame about the new menu situation. The only things he will eat are from the breakfast menu. We can’t come earlier on either due to school and busyness on weekends. Definitely recommend the breakfast menu, if you can make it on time.

An experience worth having. Particular and varied food. Delicious desserts and even the smoothies. I don't like the use of coriander in food but it's a problem in all places with this type of menu.

Birthday lunch with family - lovely vegan pancakes with lots of fruit & coconut yogurt & hazelnut latte - good portion - good service - a bit cold but busy. Would visit again & definitely recommend.

As a self-proclaimed vegan breakfast food enthusiast, I’ve searched far and wide for the perfect tofu scramble and need look no further! The breakfast bap was unreal. Reasonably priced, good coffee, lovely atmosphere, cinnamon buns?! I’ll be back.

Lovely spot to have lunch or to grab a coffee! Great atmosphere, food was fantastic, loads of flavour and plenty of options to choose from. They cater for gluten free too. Service was decent for a cafe.

Great place...well run. Very filling. Good portion of hash brown bites with guacamole...enough for 2 to share and enjoyed by sometimes fussy son. Milkshakes good and the cinnamon/ coffee walnut buns were sweet and satisfying!

I love coming here with friends for a meal! I’m dairy intolerant so it’s nice to eat food without the worry. I do miss the Spanish Scramble! Regardless, I like the pancakes also along with the kombucha or a latte!

Purposefully drove here from Baldock and so glad I did. Ordered a takeaway Mozzarella and Tomato sandwich. Best ever.

Had tomato and basil soup £7, very tasty, didnt want the focaccia which came with it, as bought focaccia toasty with mozzarella tomato and pesto! Shame a discount wasnt offered off of the soup as I didnt have the focaccia, this would have been a nice gesture as I paid £5 for the toasty! This is why I gave it 4* instead of 5*

Have been here several time but the menu today wasn't great and the food I chose wasn't good. Only ate a small amount. Very dissapointed.

They make the best peanut butter smoothies and quesadilla. I also recommend trying their BLTs. The staff are always so welcoming. Highly recommend.

My favourite place to eat in Letchworth. Nice vibe and nice people who work there. Food is very good. The owner is a decent chap who cares about the place.

Enjoyed a late breakfast here, I had the berry pancakes, huge plate of them and gorgeous 😋🤗 Will definitely visit again. The only slight improvement would be quicker service however it was busy on the day.

Superb food, super friendly and great location. Letchworth has loads of choices to sit outside for coffee/cake/food but this is one of the best.

I could leave some less than complimentary reviews about other places in town but I'd rather just leave this short note of appreciation. If you like good coffee, not just variations of on the theme of "milk with a shot" (though they do that as well I believe) this is the place for you. Knowledgeable, experienced and well trained staff who actually drink and enjoy coffee. Save yourself the frustrating walk around town and head straight here.
