Vujon - Contemporary Indian Cuisine in Croydon

Ammetto di essermi trovato egregiamente in questo ristorante indiano; cibo perfetto con un equilibrio nella piccantezza che raramente ho trovato in Italia, il che mi fa rivedere tutte le mie precedenti esperienze. Il servizio è perfetto in ogni suo aspetto, dalla simpatia dei gestori all'attenzione del cliente, i piatti abbondanti e a prezzi assolutamente nella media. Manca ovviamente una birra degna di nota, pur essendo in Inghilterra, ma non si può avere tutto se non una cucina davvero ottima. Mi avevano parlato molto bene della cucina indiana in UK e devo dire che, da Vujon, le aspettative sono state più che rispettate, anzi, se possibile si è andati oltre. Abbiamo mangiato antipasti ricchi di salse (bhajee, samosa e pollo) e piatti unici (io ancora pollo) serviti con riso e pane indiano (dire fosse chapati) il tutto spendendo, insieme al bere, circa 20 sterline a testa e uscendo dal locale decisamente sazi. Se siete nella carinissima Croydon un passaggio è quasi d'obbligo.

No update on app when delivery was due said 6:45 and turned up at 6:30 said he couldn’t get through but I was on the phone as estimated delivery was 6:45. Rice was stone cold had to reheat it

First time of going to this local restaurant, after family members recommended going for a mid week meal. Pleasantly surprised and the weekday deal (£14.95 for started, main, side and rice or nan bread) is good value for money especially as you order from their regular menu. Lemonade was non branded as flat, but the food was tasty, served nice and hot and made a nice midweek change to cooking at home. Whilst we paid with a card, I think the preference is for cash.

Vujon is my regular and I make the same order every time, King Prawn Jalfrezi, tandoori chicken starter and poppadoms. Usually very tasty however tonight was disappointing. Firstly the poppadoms tasted like they had been "out" for a while as they had gone stale and soft. The KPJ lacked it's usual vibrancy and spice to it, almost bland. Really surprised by the poor quality and just hoping it's a one off. I will order again but I hope the feedback is read by Vujon so they can check what went wrong

Madras had no flavour. Very bland. liked the thickness of the mint sauce

we ordered again from this restaurant as the food was lovely last time, but this time round the food was luke warm, onion bagees were dry, ordered poppadoms and didnt receive them. ☹️

You can’t go wrong with Vujon, taking out or sitting in. It is my main curry house of choice and would recommend it to anyone. The delivery driver was quick and very pleasant

Their food isn't as good as it used to be. The lamb shanks have almost no sauce with them and the fish curry is a new recipe which isn't very nice. It's expensive too, so I doubt we'll use them again, although we've been regulars for years.

This time it was very spicy and difficult to enjoy from the hot spices. Usually it’s not like this. Please don’t put hot spices into your lamb biryani or dishes that are not marked as hot spicy

Didn’t read notes on order and cooked it incorrectly. Was really looking forward to spicy curry but instead I got a bland inedible dish.

Had meal with my Uncle and Aunt who said that this was a fantastic restaurant. They were not wrong. The service was first class. I had the lamb & potato balti. It was delicious. The lamb was so tender and the best I have ever had at any Indian restaurant I have been to. 5⭐ A++++

Voujon in Rayne is always superb. The chef cooks amazing food and the specials are outstanding. If you have a specific request, such as a hotter than normal dish, they will try and make this happen. My husband has requested an egg curry next time we go and they’re going to make it for him. On a Tuesday evening the have a band! Male singer, incredible voice, he also plays his guitar. His partner sings and plays the saxophone! We get up and dance!!!

What a Joke over an hour late.

Gone down hill food was 5 like it was , I order most weeks, and the order I received was nothing like what I ordered. I ordered a Kushboo hot, and it just tasted of le.on, obviously leftovers from someone's plate in the restaurant. No complimentary salad or chutney as in the past.

The order arrived at i8.3515 minutes later than the given estimate 8.00 -8.3. It was cold

Usually very good, but this time the food tasted very bland, I asked for a spicy vegetable curry but they forgot and the samosas were squashed.

Delicious as always, however, I was disappointed not to receive salad and raita withy starter order. I have ordered it before, so I know it normally comes with salad etc.

Nan was slightly undercooked. Delivery was late, and the lady rang not only on my doorbell 2, as stated but my neighbors (flat 1), which wasn't cool.

Veg curry dish only half full and onion bhajis very soggy. Nowhere near as nice as last time. Disappointed

The restaurant has gone downhill. We ordered the pangash jalfrezi and the last few times, they've change the recipe and it's not acceptable food. Huge chunks of onion, that didn't get cooked through and it tasted like someone just threw curry powder over some ingredients. It was our go-to restaurant for a long while, but I don't know if we will give them our custom again.

Really good food - totally ruined by a shocking service. Table booked for 2100, turned up on time - but was clear that starters weren’t really an option and everything rushed thereafter. If 2100 is too late - decline the booking, really simple.

Very tasty and the chicken was tender. We had chicken tikka madras and chicken tikka dupiaza, lovely. 😋

Just back from another excellent evening at Vujon. Terrific flavours, really friendly service, and excellent value (Banquet Night offer). Our kids (3 & 6) received loads of attention which made them feel special and meant they behaved well all evening - bonus!

Ordered at about 1945, told it would arrive between 2025 and 2045, finally came at 2115, more than 10 minutes after calling the restaurant and being promised delivery in 2 minutes. The food is ok, not the best around but ok, the service is atrocious.

Food was excellent, slightly disappointed by the late delivery though. Had to call the restaurant and the food hadn't left, but the spo said it had been delivered.

Lovely tarka Daal. I ordered vegetarian dishes and they were lovely. It came with a side salad and onion salad too. The coconut rice was sweet and delicious too.

Naam was burnt, limited amount of chicken in chicken tikka masala than usual and rice slightly undercooked

I don't even know what could bring this back from terrible from every aspect -food to delivery. Everything was just not worth my hard earnt wages. So much need to improve before they continue to rip Croydon off, its simply unfair to recommend. One plus is i liked container serving the usual 'over a certain amout ya get a free salad' option which was not the normal cheap offering of a baggy containing 3 day old brown lettuce and other uncooked veggies. I'm so sad about this but know i wont get any compensation as Just Eat has given up so why would these establishments bother to gain popularity with their clients😪😪😪

Wonderful food. Wish we could have the choice of what naan we can choose with mix grill, as didn't get Peshawari like when I normally ask. Also would be nice if you sold little pots of masala/curry sauces etc, like you do pots of raita. As, maybe it's the football, but normally you are kind enough to follow my notes, as you're the main takeaway, and only curry house takeaway I use. Really tasty food tho, and got free poppadoms, so thank you!
