A few days earlier, we went for a meal, and none of the food met our expectations. The Veg biryani and salad were the worst of all. We got smelly and rotten taste of potato in veg biryani. We shared it with them, but they didn't response properly, though they didn't charge for that food at the end. Worst experience ever and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The food here is amazing. I have eaten in and had take out and the quality of the food is always excellent. The staff are attentive and accommodating if you want a small change to something on the menu. The meat is always high quality and tender. I highly recommend a visit.

Myself and partner went to sangri to order food today and when we received our order went home to enjoy our food for fathers day. Once home I opened my chicken korma only to find the big chunky pieces off chicken pink all the way through. My partner rang the restaurant to make a complaint and they said they're sorry and sent another korma which yet again it was pink. They said it was cook and yet again it wasn't and I do not eat under cooked chicken pieces . So anyone who's going to order chicken korma please check the big chicken chunks. Eating under cooked chicken pieces will make you very very ill. I highly recommend not to eat or order from sangri especially the korma. How can any chef keep saying it's cooked !!!. Got another korma and even the second chicken korma was pink. 2 photos to prove it. Please check any meat dishes you are going to eat from sangri

They’ve gone down hill and we’ve tried to support them again and again and tonight delivery was wrong and apparently this was our fault. I give up……..

Although I am always trying out different restaurants. Sangri Indian is one that I return to because their food is comforting just like this restaurant in Stepney Green which closed down. I love their vegetable side dishes as well as their rice. The lemon rice I had is fluffy and appetizing which goes well with lots of dishes and the spinach mushroom side is amazing. Also tried the butterfly king prawn which was massive as they use a whole tiger prawn.

Does not serve authentic indian food, they just put it in the name.we had bad experience

Good service and wide menu choice. Fresh popadums and not the stale ones you’d get elsewhere, with a healthy dose of onions and sauces (also a rarity these days). Warm towels to wipe hands and face after. Reasonably priced.

We've always had great meals here and often bring family too. Food was particularly delicious on our last visit with less oil but still packed with flavour. I'd particularly recommend the aloo puri.

Don’t buy from here they can’t follow simple orders. Asked for a vegetable masala they sent chicken. And all that could do rather than send the right dish is offer a small discount on the next order.

We enjoyed a meal here four years ago, and I wrote a positive review, so we were looking forward to returning. We booked a table to be sure since it was a Saturday night however there were plenty of tables free. We were not disappointed with the meals, I ordered a Jalfrezi, always a good measure of the food standards. Good quality and flavour but a little more sauce would have been more to my taste. The side dishes, rice and naan were very good and the pint of Cobra perfect! Pleasant staff and surroundings ensured a most enjoyable evening. I look forward to returning in the future.

We've been going to Sangri for years, but the last two visits the food really was not up to par. Lamb Karai not served in a karai and it was basically stewed lamb with oil no sauce. I am sorry to see this, because they have been on the High Street a long time and were one of the best in Croydon. No fault with the service and they credited me for the food that I didn't eat. I hope they will get a new chef as I believe the original chef passed away. When the Sangri chaps read this, they will know who I am and I hope this criticism is seen as constructive.

The Restraunt catered a buffet at an event I attended. I was so impressed with the quality of food that we ordered a take away the next week. It was top notch!

Ordered last week from this restaurant and ever since I have had severe stomach cramps and so has my partners son, it's been over one week and still not right. Conclusion is food poisoning or possible E.coli. DO NOT EAT OR ORDER FROM HERE. Food Standards Agency informed.

We love Sangri, the staff are fabulous and welcome us with open arms every time the food is always sensational and the service is personable and friendly. There is so much competition locally, but the Sangri rises above them all, every time.

Small modern Indian restaurant in London Road near Coombe Road. Lovely decor and great service. All the classics and plenty of southern Indian meals you may never have heard of. Good fair prices for drinks as well.

Very bad Service.. This restaurant believes in racism..staff treated us very badly, he just threw the serving plates on table.. and didn't even bother to come and ask about the food, it's an Indian restaurant but the food didn't have 1% taste of India.. He treated the britishers very well..

Best curry around without a doubt. Don't expect huge spiciness, but do expect good produce and lovely flavour.

Service second to none, staff remember you and your family and greet you personally, food is fantastic, lovely ambience. Particular favourites, onion bhaji, chicken dhansak, stuffed paratha

Poor quality food. Ordered two curry dishes and could not taste any real difference between them, very bland. The veg in both the curry dishes were clearly frozen supermarket veg containing broccoli, baby carrots and brussel sprouts, not typical or authentic. Potatoes in another dish were microwaved and unappealing.

Didn't know the area too well. Chanced it on cold winter's evening. Had the Chicken Tikka Jalfrazi, Saag Aloo side and Mushroom Pilau. Delicious food! Excellent service.

Really bad attitude of the staff. They treated us rudely and the food was awful.

I went there at 5.30 when the restaurant had just opened and the only customer there in an empty restaurant Took a seat and then was rudely approached by the waiter and told to nice and I couldn’t sit there! I left immediately The restaurant was empty… needless to say I left immediately … I did go previously and the food was adequate without being anything special and the Service is appalling. I waited to pay the bill whilst they talked to a friend of theirs. If you appreciate spending you money and like to feel welcome then please avoid at all costs

Nice and clean restaurant on the BRIGHTON Road in South Croydon. Was busyish for a Friday evening (we went at 830pm) but they had enough space for 3 of us. Good prices and food service and food was lovely. Shame they don't do any alcohol free beers but other than that great evening out. Staff are friendly and prompt (but not too 'in your face').

Good food, wine and service. When I asked if there was ghee in the food the waiter said they can make it without if I asked and he checked when I ordered that the food I wanted wouldn't have dairy. Will be coming back again

Never visit again .I went there with my family as we entr receptionist looked on us n said yes, no me n my husband looking on each other what we can say of course we were thr to eat . No welcome nothing. Only one waiter with little long hair took the order very nicely but other two looking on us like we are not matching to thr standards. In Indian restaurant Indian are not liked very shameful. No smile on there faces n even not friendly with little kids Seriously very bad experience will never go again in Sangri never.

Read the reviews and was keen to try it. Prawn dishes were very disappointing. Tandoori king prawns weren't as described but they were lightly burnt, chewy, tight and tasteless. Pleased we didn't order a portion each! Crumbed prawn starter was equally disappointing; not sure there was actually a prawn inside the crumb. It was a flat mass of crumbs with something inside. However, the chicken tikka, ordered as both a starter and main, were absolutely delicious. Succulent, tasty, good portion. Rice, naan and chana were also perfect. Cocktails were warm; though tasted good. They just needed to be over ice and in a different glass. I won't return for a while.

Love coming to Sangri, the food is always excellent and presented beautifully. Having been to many many curry houses in London of v the last 20 years, this is probably my favourite....and it's local too!

Lamb tikka masala was 100% off, I'm sure the yogurt was expired or something. They didn't want to change the order or rectify. Their meat samosas were nice though. Won't order from them again

I went with my husband and 3 year old son for dinner few days back. The food was average and the restaurant staff was very rude and the place is not at all friendly towards young children.I would not recommend and would not like to return to this place ever.

Made an order through Deliveroo, half the order was missing, when I contacted the restaurant who admitted they packed it said it is not there problem I am not there customer. No apology, no compassion not a care in the world, no desire to help or communicate in anyway just pure refusal. I have never been treated in such a way from someone in the service industry. Absolute DISGUSTING.

Online booking didn't work/felt rushed to order and finish/food was ok... for me it lacked salt/very loud hard to have a conversation. I had not had Indian food in over 5 years. After reading the reviews and the menu my friend and I decided on Sangri. I made an online booking for 2.. Didn't hear anything back. Arrived at the restaurant to find our booking didn't go through and that they could squeeze us in for an hour. We agreed as it was a Friday night and doubted anywhere else would have a short notice booking for 2 available.... Wrong decision from the moment we sat down we felt rushed. We ordered the lamb Balti and the paneer korma with rice, saag aloo and paratha as sides. My friend was very happy with his korma dish and found the added pistachios gave the dish a really nice flavour. I however was underwhelmed by the flavour of my dish which consisted mostly of largely chopped onions and tomatoes/peppers and not much meat. We were asked if we were finished... Although we still had our sides to finish we just left it and paid and left. I personally wouldn't return as I found the food underwhelming on the other hand my friend really enjoyed his choice.

My favourite Indian restaurant in Croydon. Friendly and good service. My favourite is the Garlic Chili Chicken Masala with Naan and Pilau rice. Very tasty indeed. I prefer to eat at the restaurant but they also do pick-up service and Deliveroo.

Perfect food and nice atmosphere, you can't go wrong here, best curry house in the main part of town.

I've been coming here for almost 12 years and the friendly service and food are always great, hence my continuous return. Really recommend the sag paneer, garlic chilli chicken or Darsha and the tandoori mixed grilled. There's a reason this place has stood the test of time in croydon. Nice and clean and easy to reach location. I also saw many take out orders whilst I was dining in, which is a great sign for a local business

Reasonably priced Curry house that does everything as you’d expect.

NICE BUT BE AWARE Friendly attentive staff and generally a good menu. However the “modern” menu is a little out of the ordinary. Correct me if I’m wrong but if it doesn’t have a symbol of a chilli pepper next to the dish, it has no spice in it at all?! So I ordered my fav dish. A lamb rogan; lovely spiced dish with tomato etc. What arrived was tasteless and bland. Brown. No spices or tomato. I asked the waiter and he said, “oh we don’t add spices to this dish” Of all my Curry house experiences, this is a 1st. …..Also the place is deceptively small. You have to walk past the kitchen deliveries to get into the toilet.

Aug 21 - first visit yesterday for a while and it is as good as ever BUT needs your support - It does take away and delivery (if you cannot get there) and if we want our favourite restaurants to survive we must support them!! - South Croydon is blessed with several good Indian restaurants with Sangri one of the very best...would happily recommend and very good quality and reasonable value for money including drinks.....I usually go for Madras hot and it's perfect.... also quite artistic in additional plate garnish etc

Visited a Thursday night. Mixed kebab starter for 2, undercooked chicken tikka. Replaced but had that been eaten would have ruined our whole weekend with the Epsom races planned for the Saturday. Madras was nice

Superb food and amazing atmosphere

Sangri is one of our favourite restaurants. First visit since easing of restrictions. Covid safe. All staff wore masks and gloves at all times. Tables spaced out. Staff very pleasant as usual. Food and service excellent. Lamb very tender. Glad to be back!

Whilst the restaurant is really vibrant and colourful the covid takeout was not that good. We picked up our meal and the chutneys were missing, we had missing curry mains and they didnt deliver till an hour later. The rogan was too thick but flavours...

I have been craving their food for a while. I have been praying lockdown would be lifted soon, so I can go for a sit down meal. I was so pleased, when I learned they were delivering!! Food was lovely! Prawn madras, garlic nan, lamb...

The food wasn't nice the too greasy Prawn in sauce was hard to find and too much sauce.

Under lockdown we really wanted a curry. It was delicious. Jalfrezi, Saag, various starters and naans with sauces. Absolutely delicious. Fab staff / delivery staff who understand that not all residences in London have a house / flat number......only a name! 😳

We've been to Sangri quite a few times since lockdown and is now our go to place. We've eaten so far the prawn korma, pistachio curry, chicken Karahi, chicken Madras and mixed grill. All dishes we'd recommend. My absolute favourite starter are the onion bhajees, so crispy and delicious! We've only ever ordered takeaway so can't comment about service. The only downside we've experienced and to no fault of Sangri but feel worth mentioning is that when we've ordered delivery with Ubereats our food is never that warm, I end up heating it up. When we've done collection it's always been a lot warmer.

Visited the restaurant. Very poor service and staff very unprofessional. The manager always argues with the customers. Very pathetic restaurant ignore it. Manager passed very unethical comments for the customers. I knew there language and it was utter trash. Very poor

Have frequented pre lockdown. Went post lockdown and was very impressed with face sheilds, gloves and social distancing measures. The food is excellent, rich and full of flavour. I had a mixed grill, friends had the chilli chicken. Well done guys, great place, grest food...
