Voujon in Walsall

Apologies for only giving 1 star last week. Pressed the wrong button. Just wanted to put things right and say definitely a 5 star service and food. Have been back again tonight. Wonderful staff and food is so delicious and definitely value for money. Will be back again soon.

Ordered takeaway and tasted good but real shame they can't cook what was actually ordered. Ordered lamb and received chicken which I don't like.

Food ok Service terrible Callas a waiter 3 times only to be told 1 moment and for him not to return to us Over an hours wait for food and it wasn’t even busy When we commented on the lack of service reply was well it is Father’s Day No apology

First visit to Voujon in a long time (10 years) as we weren’t impressed with the food, however on this visit food was excellent and so was the service. Had a great experience with our friends and will definitely be going back for more.

Haven’t been here since early 2023 and before then I visited probably monthly. I was shocked and embarrassed as I praised this Indian restaurant up for a date night! What a let down! Absolutely rubbish!

We went to Voujon with friends with high expectations. The food was very bad and bland. The service was even worse. We like to go out to different places for a meal but this was by far the worst experience we had. I could understand if they were busy but the restaurant was half empty so I would have expected better quality and attention from this place. We won’t be going back there again!.

The food here is absolutely amazing. It takes a little while to arrive, which is absolutely fine because you know it is being cooked fresh - and you can tell from the taste and quality. Service is friendly and attentive and the pricing is reasonable. The fact we keeping going back with our family says it all. Highly recommended.

We had a party of 21 for my dads 70th great service from all members of staff especially Mohammad not just that evening, every experience when dining Mohammad has always been exceptional. Thanks again we will be back

It had been 5 years since I last visited but drive past this restaurant frequently. The food was delicious, hot, and just the right amount of spice. The meat platter starter between us was perfect. Service was quick and efficient although could be done with a bit more of a smile by the waiter we had. It was quiet when we first arrived but soon became quite busy by 7ish. The portions are huge and every bite was tasty. They provided us with ice cold water and an ice bucket for a bottle of wine, which they allowed me to taste initially. They don’t accept the blue light card but did give us a £5 gift card for next time. This might be something to consider given the amount of NHS staff who travel up and down the Chester road each day, it will be noticed! The environment was clean and the guy behind the bar was lovely and was the friendliest person we met there. The naan bread was actually the best I have ever eaten. Plenty of parking. Efficient service and prices are good for the quality and quantity of food we ate. We will most certainly be back and I won’t leave it so long next time. Thank you.

I haven't been here for a number if years, I wasn't let down. Starters were delightful and of top quality. We had chicken madras duck jalfrezi which was absolutely amazing. We will see you soon!

We are frequent diners. Love eating out. Indian is our go to. Beautiful starters, main and pudding. The Bangla beer was super - never tried it before. Mohammed our waiter was brilliant. Thank you. We are local and always drive past and say we’ll try there - so glad we did. We’ll be back! Oh and the lamb in the biryani was lush!

Mains were very good, plenty of meat and tasty dishes. Naan bread nice. Sadly the guy who was serving us (Tall, thick-set with beard) was one of the most miserable and unfriendly I've ever come across. Didn't speak a word, didn't smile and looked really pi55ed off. Spoilt things a little tbh. Customer service is not his forte. Oh, and the plates were freezing cold, no excuse for that.

Whilst visiting the area on business we discovered this gem. Highlights for us were a seafood curry and a creamy tarka Dahl . Service excellent and helpful waiter with our choices. Even better this was on the Wednesday special price deal.

I have eaten here a few times before and the food had always been excellent but last night it just average. The last time I went the chicken bhuna was probably one of the best I had ever eaten and that's saying something with amount I have had! So, I was really looking forward to it last night. I don't know if the chef has changed but I felt like I was eating someone's left overs, the chicken was tough. The mussels I had for my starter were quite bland. The place was really busy when we got there but emptied pretty quickly. I did feel that they could of waited for us to leave before moving the tables to sweep the floor beside us. I felt they were pushing out and it was only 10.10pm on a Saturday night. Perhaps I'll give it a while before going again, it's not as if we are short of Indian restaurants around here...

We visited Voujon very early on a weekday night (6pm) and initially we were the only couple in - which we expected as it was very early - other diners arrived about 7pm. As usual the staff were very pleasant and attentive and we had a lovely evening. Our meals were excellent and we can definitely recommend this restaurant. The car park is large with a good disabled parking area (which we used as my companion requires a walking stick) and easy access to the restaurant. The décor for Christmas was just right - not over the top. My favourite dish is Salmon Mumtaz with a peshwari naan and I can highly recommend it.

Staff courteous and very helpful, restaurant was very clean and tidy,food was hot and delicious. Mohammad was a star he explained all about the offers and banquets. We will definitely be going there again.

Me and my partner decided to try here as it was somewhere new and wanted to try the Wednesday four course banquet. All I can say is I'm not sure what the four courses were? We were charged for poppadoms and to our amazement also charged for the chutney tray!!! In all the restaurants locally we go to, never do they charge for that. Secondly there was bottled water on the tables, thinking it was complimentary..was charged for that too. Overall the food was nice but what we thought was a going to be a cheap mid week curry for £10.95 each turned out to be £50!it's the little things that make the difference. Disappointed. Won't be going again .

This was our first visit to the restaurant. We pass the premises regulary and decided we would try their food out. We saw that the restaurant had an offer called banquet Wednesday, therefore decided to visit on such a night. The restaurant has h a very pleasant ambience and has a large veranda type seating area at the front of the main dining room which is where we were seated. Although located near a busy road we were unable to hear any passing traffic. As already stated we visited on a special deal night and had the choice of their 3 or 4 course deals. Which were priced at 9.95 or 10.95 respectively, we chose the 4 course. We could choose any starter, main and either nan or rice with a side for two. There was a slight extra charge if certain higher priced dishes were chosen which again I thought were reasonably priced. The food we chose was excellent and very tasty. My wife had a fish dish and I had a chicken dish which was cooked to pefection. The service was spot on as waiters were very quick with the order and drinks. The restaurant has fitted to each table a call button for service, drinks bill etc which means that on a push of a button a waiter will appear at the table. This worked very well on our visiit and on finishing our visit it was just a case of using the call button for the bill which arrived at our table within minutes. The restaurant is going to be visited on a regular basis by ourselves as we were very impressed by our visit. I fully recommend trying the banquet wednesday as this gives great value for customers. Well done Voujon Management and staff.

What a great meal, I had the chicken Tawa, a well flavoured dish and plenty of it! It was a busy Wednesday night but the special offer was great and service excellent. I am already looking forward to our next evening here.

First time visitor, won't be my last. Lovely restaurant and spacious surroundings. Food was impeccable. I asked for a dish ghost wasn't on the menu and it was cooked to perfection. Prices resonable too... enjoy.

Myself, husband and daughter visited the restaurant for a birthday meal. We were greeted by a very pleasant waiter and given a choice of table (which is not always an option if the restaurant is busy but I think its a nice touch)

Called in on a Wednesday evening and the place was packed. Food presentation and taste were excellent. Charred yet soft naan breads.. Waiters were very helpful. We will return soon.

Been coming here for about a year and never had a bad meal. Heard people say its all the same but we dont have loads of dishes only one and tat tastes great to me every time. I used to enjoy Kalahandi Chicken but never found it anywhere since Diva at Bentley Bridge closed .. this is by far the best we have found since and we enjoy the half hour ride there. Staff are extremely friendly once you engage with them, they can be a bit stand off ish as not everyone wants to engage - thats your choice .. 5 stars every time from me !!

A few of the table had the Wednesday banquet but three of us just wanted a main course. At first they stated we could not do this unless everyone was having it but then agreed as obviously realised we would be spending a bit of money here.

I popped in here after driving past it many times and not really paying much attention.

Not only were the waiters rude in every respect, “move the spoon, move the phone” when plating the table, their attitude and petty rules were absurd. 4 people having banquets but the 3 healthy eaters could not have any of anyone’s banquet or they would itemise the bill and make us pay more. Which is fine we’re healthy eating so wouldn’t want anyone else’s but to stop us doing that they bought the 3 peoples mains after the banqueters ate their starters, so we had to eat alone, then when we had finished our mains they bought the banqueters mains so we had to sit watch them eat. This ruined our night, they were watching us with hawk eyes, and made us feel uncomfortable. I will never return. Royal Oak rushall is and always will be best.

We visited here last night for our wedding anniversary meal. At first, it wasn’t too promising, I had booked online and received a text confirming my booking but they didn’t appear to have this information in their diary. I was questioned as to whether I had booked in a different name?!?! There was no problem anyway as the restaurant was relatively quiet throughout the whole evening, I don’t know why.

Went on a Saturday for a birthday meal was quite busy but still well looked after. The food was great and reasonably price. A very good combination. Food was tasty and well cooked. The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Some good meal deals on there menu. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a great meal here, found it difficult to underdtand the waiter..but food arrived quite quickly.. lovely presented.

After having an enjoyable meal, we asked for and were given the dessert menu. On asking to place an order for dessert we were told that we could not order any as it would take a long time as they had to make it from scratch.... Err excuse me are you not a restaurant? In then trying to order ice cream for dessert we were told that dessert takes an hour to make!!!! Obviously even ice cream out of a tub, as that was all we wanted for dessert. Apparently they were very busy and told us we should not of been issued with the dessert menu! Obviously NOT a fully functioning restaurant.... Best if avoided like the plague!

Great welcome. Lots of choice and they will amend dishes to your liking. Staff know about the dishes and are happy to advise.

This was a first time visit for us and our friends, we went as two couples. The interior was really lovely and the welcome was friendly. We were immediately taken to our table and orders taken for drinks and food very promptly. We choose a platter of starters which were beautifully presented and gorgeous. Our main meals arrived again very promptly with the same high levels of presentation , flavours and good portion sizes. We didnt have any coffees or puddings and we left very satisfied. Highly recommended

Found the food choice very good, was cooked well, with plenty of choice, waiters happy to advise and help. Presented well, but, found the drinks rather expensive. The food was well priced in my opinion.

Went for a meal with a party of 15 last night. Staff were polite efficient knowledgeable about the menu. Food was excellent and we all ate at the same time which sometimes doesn’t happen with a large party. Highly recommend.

I went on recomendation from work colleagues and was embarrassed by the shocking service we had.

My partner and I went on the 6th January 2018 and were disappointed. I booked online & said it was my partners birthday, when we arrived they hadn't got us down. We did get a table but waited a while, the staff weren't very friendly, the food was ok but very small portions. They seemed to look after their regulars rather than new customers. Overall it was not what I expected after being recommended & won't be going again.

Whilst looking for a restaurant late on Friday afternoon / evening, we called Voujon to see if they had a table at short notice. They were fully booked. However, whilst trying other restaurants in vain, Voujon called me back and said they had a cancellation and could take us. Star number 1. On getting to the restaurant, we were pleasantly greeted and shown to our table straight away. Star 2. The restaurant was packed, yet they managed to serve us really quickly and efficiently. Star 3. The food was excellent too, interesting and packed full of flavour. Star 4. Finally, the price was very reasonable also. Star 5. Overall a good experience and we will be going back again for sure.
