Fantastic bar in the centre of Hebden Bridge serving a full range of Vocation Ales and guest beers to. Space to sit outside with ample seating inside too. Tasty Burgers on offer as well.

Good pub with decent atmosphere and wide selection of beers and ciders.

My favourite Vocation bar. Great food and service every time. Can get really busy so avoid peak times.

Both the beer and the food were excellent. We had the burgers, loaded fries and onion rings and enjoyed everything. The Vocation beers have something for everyone and very tasty.

Great bar with a wide selection of beers and a burger offering. Burgers were tasty. Sharing platters of fries feed 4, we had the mock duck hoi sin which were fab.

Amazing beer selection sorted by a lovely wine menu. Absolutely nothing to criticise other than it gets absolutely rammed busy on Saturdays, which is hardly their fault but you need to know.

19/03/24: Swinton A Relief day out! Vocation: Brass Monkeys IPA 5%, Vocation: Naughty & Nice Chocolate Orange stout 5.5%, Vault City: Fizzy Watermelon Slices sour 4.1% 02/10/23: Team day out! Death by Mangoes sour 4% and Naughty & Nice Coconut 10% and U OK HON?: Pineapple Hot Honey sour 6.5%. 12/08/22: Hebden Bridge Ale Trail: Vocation are outstanding at brewing beer. When I say beer, I should state Craft Ales, Porters, Stouts, Sours and general Session Ales. They have catered and created something that everyone can find a favourite of. Part of our Hebden Bridge ale trail, it was our first stop and for me, probably one of the best places in Hebden Bridge. We didn't sample any food, although thr menu also looked impressive (burgers and fries). We drank Death by Cherries cherry sour, Life & Death Session IPA and Sunset Overdrive piña colada sour.

Delicious food. Love that every burger can be made vegetarian or vegan. The vegan duck fries are the best

We've eaten A LOT of burgers in our time and this was quite possibly the best we've ever had. We both had the Smokin Bun - juicy, but not greasy and very tasty. And goes without saying, but the beer was great too 😀

Called in here New Years Day. Lovely setting, plenty of seating, great choice of beers (including sours), very friendly knowledgeable staff. As well as having a drink on site we bought some cans & new glasses to continue the joy of Vocation beer at home. We’ll visit again next time we’re in this area, but I’ll still continue to buy my Vocation beer via their web site too. (Didn’t order any food, as not ready to eat when we were there, but their menu looked very inviting)

Fab place. Great selection to choose from. Great lads behind the bar tonight. Chatty and willing to offer opinions and alternatives. Burgers were great (apparently). Thought it might've been busier, but good to get our gang sat together 👍. Shame we had to leave suddenly due to train cancellations 😞

Very popular place for eating and drinking 🍻. The food 🍲 menu looked like an assortment of burgers and the beers is a huge list 📃. Very friendly atmosphere.

Our last visit was on Friday 15th September. We live in Hebden Bridge & love the ecletic mix of bars & restaurants. Vocation has an impresive selection of over twenty beers & has its place in the town, catering for the metropolitan recent arrivals discernible by their lack of any regional accent & slightly entiteled demeanor. The interior is a little on the minimalist side & not over comfortable & certainly not cosy. Having said that we visit on a regular basis to enjoy the beer & eavesdrop on the occasional pretencious conversation. My only real issue with the place is the surlyness of the staff, not all but in general, who act as though they are there under sufferance without any welcoming smile or gesture. This is easily remedied by a lead from the managment & once witnessed by the staff is infectious, it's not a big thing but would make the Vocation experience a whole lot more enjoyable.

Burgers were so good, we both had a Hans Solo and shared some chips. Food was fresh and full of flavour. Really enjoyed the food.

I do wish I’d not bothered. Came here last year and thought we’ll it’s busy it’s a decent place but no nothing has improved. Toilets never have loo roll yiu have to look for it. Bar staff look sour AF and actually the brewery beer selection is not all that. It’s just been picked up as a trend. Food is alright and it’s dog friendly

Popped in while we were in Hebden Bridge. Great selection of their own beers and some from other brewers. Food very nice and came quickly even though it was busy. Well worth a visit

We all enjoyed our beers in this tap room. Unfortunately we were near the table with the toddler smashing toys on the table repeatedly and lots of flies, there was no where else to sit! We didn’t get food so can’t comment. Beer was in great condition. Friendly bar staff too who had a little chat on.

Dog friendly place. Great selection of beers & ales which some can be bought to take out. Lovely place, lovely staff & a nice atmosphere. Food is tremendous, I had the cheeseburger & is one of the best I have had! Also a nice selection of wine too. Highly recommend just for the cheeseburger! Definitely go back.

Unfortunately I haven't got anything good to say about Slap & Pickle anymore... Used to enjoy eating at Vocation but the last couple of visits the burgers have gone down hill... There is no care taken in the creation of the food now... Dry, bland meat, soggy loaded fries... Its a real shame... Going to have to travel further afield for burgers now.

Wonderful beer but the food was not good. Cheesey chips were soggy and in an awful yellow sauce that bore no resemblance to cheese - burgers were ok but unremarkable considering the price

I visited vocation on Thursday 6th July around 17:20, there was 2 members of staff behind the bar serving 2 customers, we were the only other people waiting. both customers paid for their drinks which as I have stated left only us waiting to be served. the 2 staff members acted like we were not there! another customer then approached the bar and the female member of staff went straight to him and called him by name and asked what he wanted, I stated we were next but was completely ignored by all concerned. we decided to leave as I was getting quite annoyed, we were totally ignored even then, it was like we were never there! I understand if it is busy but when you are the only person at the bar serving in the correct order seems an easy thing to achieve. we have been before but obviously not local enough. very disappointing.

Very busy new pub in the town centre run by the excellent Vocation Brewery. Large choice of the brewery's wares. Didn't eat. Service was fast and efficient Will return at some point soon

A really classy joint with a fantastic selection of beers! Get the vegan duck meat chips but beware the chilli will do you in if you don't brace yourself. And I'd probably advise a thimble taster of the 10% stout before ordering the 1/2 pint!

We've bought Vocation beer at our local supermarket (Wiltshire) and decided we ought to visit! We weren't disappointed. Hebden Bridge is a lovely little town and Vocation was a great place to pop in for a couple of beers before jumping back on the train. There was a good choice of beer from Vocation and others, plus a good selection of cans.

Overted pub like many in rip off Hebden Bridge, when you order a beer it advertised as 2/3 not a full English pint and if you want a full English pint they charge you more for it. The pub is simply ripping customers off with overpriced beer. Your be better of going to pub next door or another pub. At least they will give you a full pint of beer rather than 2/3 of beer and charge you the same as a pint. Better of going to Todmorden at least they know what a pint is rather than this rip off of joint

A perfect bar/taproom for anyone who loves and appreciates great beer. A truly wide range of excellent ales and the burgers and fries are to die for. The staff are great, friendly and knowledgable and very attentive. It’s also very dog friendly We love this place and will visit every time we’re in the area.

First Class. 22 Beer taps. Mixed variety of Vocation & some top guest beers. Food & service was first class & nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Best burger I have had for ages ironic being in evil bridge. V shaped fries need to be tasted to be believed. Don't drive the beers are far too tempting. Best discovery this year so far.

Service was very poor, was asked to sit down and he'd take our order, 3 more people came in and he served them! Burger was nice, but had a large piece of burger seperation paper in from burger, was never asked if everything was OK, went to bar for another drink, staff member was typing away on computer, no acknowledgement at all for about 5 minutes! Very rude. Would not recommend 😕 very disappointed

Very good. Great range of beers (of course) and the food was very good too. We had the end room with the big table to ourselves and ended up reading the books on beer and brewing for longer than we should have. Definitely recommended.

The beer is good (if pricey) but. The burgers are some of the grossest I've experienced. Just piled high with synthetic-looking slime.

Fantastic choice of beers, both from Vocation and other breweries. The food from Slap & Pickle was great to soak up some of those strong IPAs. The veggie/vegan burgers were amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful and dogs are welcome. Will definitely be back!

Incredible beer, but some of the rudest bar staff I've ever had the displeasure of being served by. I stood at the bar over ten minutes and politely asked if I could order food and just got an eye roll from one, and the other didn't make eye contact. I'll continue to drink their beer, but I won't be coming back to the taproom.
