Needing a cuppa and cake mid afternoon we found the Vinyl Cafe - glad we called in. Lovely toasted teacake and the owners have great taste in music judging from the vinyl playing while we were there. Shame we weren't in Carlisle for longer as they appear to have live music sometimes.

Lovely little record shop with a great little cafe to boot. Had some lovely warm scones that filled a hole on a damp day and scored a couple of second hand records, all round win!

What a cracking place. We found this by accident and as a result its our go to place now. The coffee is fantastic and the music off the scale. Yes,I'm the Springsteen fan .. If you visit Carlisle then find this little out of the way cafe on the quaint cobbled streets. When friends come to visit ,I take them here.. Utterly amazing...

Very good little back street cafe. Had an amazing selection of records. We entered to the sound of pink Floyd, wish you were here. What more does a man really need.... We will return. Very vovid savvy as well.

A few steps from Carlisle Cathedral, this inauspicious cafe, to the rear of a vintage vinyl record store, served lovely tea and scone to a backdrop of soul. Decorated in a gallery of art.

Came here whilst visiting Carlisle and the area for something a little different - a gig in the evening, local group Long Meg. Was a cold and rainy evening, but was welcomed into the warmth. Wonderful record shop and cafe, very relaxed for a gig. Good offer on coffee and cake, so had a delicious flat white, slice of lemon ginger vegan cake, and as it was a gig a bottle of local Ennerdale brewery Blond. Had an enjoyable evening, will visit again for a gig, but also go in the day for a coffee and buy some tunes! Just there behind Tullie House, and by the gates to the cathedral, a good quiet spot.

A real place with knowledgeable staff, a selection of old and new vinyl from respected distributers and some coffee to enjoy while browsing and listening to music. Prices are also very reasonable.

Stumbled upon this place by accident as we left the cathedral grounds and what a find. My husband is a vinyl nerd and we both like cafes - the owner knows his stuff and offers a great service to his customers. I observed him showing a young and newbie vinyl collecter how to use the anti-stat device he had bought and it was an excellent example of perfect customer service and how if you do what you love you never work a day in your life. He just loves the view from his office. I wish we could have stopped to try out the cafe. Highly recommended for the warm welcome, the selection of vinyl and broad knowledge of music. They host live music events do look out for those. And go visit on Record Store Day too.

I was really interested to visit here when I heard it had opened, I think this is a great idea to mix the pleasure of music with coffee and snacks. Staff was warm and welcoming and music great, décor was well thought out, clean and easy to get around the displays of vinyls. definitely worth a visit if you love your music. Coffee wasn't the greatest I have tried but fantastic selection of teas.

We saw this shop as we wandered back to town from the Castle and popped in. As we have recently fallen back in love with vinyl it was a great place to stop and browse. We didn't have anything to eat or drink but this area looked a pleasant place to chill out. The man behind the counter was very friendly and knew his stuff regarding the artists. So pleased we found this little piece of calm!

Upon arriving in Carlisle we asked in a local shop at the bus station where the best coffee shop was. Just a five minute walk to The Good Sisters. What a lovely little place, I so much prefer these coffee shops to the big name brands. The staff were so good, happy to help. The food was great too. A nice selection, well presented and good quality. I had the Sausage Pattie Brioche Bun. It was tasty and to be recommended. Well done to all 🙂

I just love Alexandros! Still my favourite restaurant in Carlisle. The service is very good. The owner always seems to be on duty to take orders. The food is never a disappointment and the atmosphere in the restaurant tonight ( Saturday) was absolutely buzzing at 6:30pm! Fully booked! Traditional Greek music playing in the background , lots of chatter and delicious food/ desserts and drinks being served at all the tables. You just can’t help but take a peek at what other people have ordered. You really do feel like you have been transported to Greece. There is only one minor thing that I wish could be improved upon, and thats the waiting area when you walk in and wait to be seated. Well….there isn’t one. You have to stand and wait in the doorway upon entry where you find yourself to be only a few feet away from someone’s table. It feels a little awkward and intrusive if you’re left standing there for more than a minute. And it’s not great, for those sitting close to the door, to feel a cold draught every time the door opens and closes. But don’t let this put you off, because it doesn’t seem to stop people coming. And the food is too good to miss!

We had a lovely coffee and panini here. Staff were really friendly. The food was great - as was the coffee. There isn't a massive amount of seating but it was stylish and welcoming. They don't take card payments, but there's 3 cash machines close by and they do accept bank transfers (they have free WiFi so you don't need to rely on patchy signal). Would definitely recommend.

Started my day in Carlisle with an excellent bacon barm and cup of tea. Enjoyed it so much that we went back later for an equally excellent piece of cake and scone.

Arrived at 1.45, there was a sign on the door to say it was open until 2.30. I was snarled at by an extremely rude person, saying "we're closed". Will not be going back.
