The Wellington Inn and Caravan Park.. Is such a quaint and cosy Inn..friendly staff. Delicious food.. The Seasonal Pie was something else, home made and perfect . The Wellington Burger was superb too .and the puddings ..home made. The jam roly poly was absolutely delicious as was the banana split..and not overly priced either. They sell hand pulled Bitter and a good selection of Gins and other Spirits. The Caravan Park.very quiet. beautifully maintained .

Lovely village pub and very well organised for busy lunch times. I had the Welly Warmer special pie which was excellent. Service was super speedy (we hardly had to wait for our food to arrive) and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating to us and the other guests. I did have difficulty trying to call to book in as the phone wasn't answered whenever I tried. I had also seen it was dog friendly online and had tried to confirm this via phone but couldn't get through. On arrival a sign on the door stated dogs were not allowed inside (but were in the beer garden) which was a little disappointing as it did seem to be dog friendly. That was my only niggle and I would happily return as the staff and food more than made up for it.

What a nice suprise this was, stayed in campervan on site. Super clean with electricity and water. Had booked table. Went for a stroll and saw that there was a long cal limousine farm and butsher shop attached. So of course ordered steak pie which contained obviously meat from the Mulholland farm. Which is the only meat used at the Wellington Inn. Owner super great and very knowledgeable about the area and history. Was kind enough to help us book cinema tickets for the 1st showing of the Great escaper starring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson. Hope to come back soon.

Friendly traditional country pub with a good range of real ales and reliably good food; beer garden; caravan park.Even on a dreary mid-week evening you'll find plenty of regulars here gathered around the bar, creating a chatty and cheerful atmosphere. You’ll be greeted by a cosy fire roaring most of the year. Recently we were in on a Thursday evening for their quiz night, and another evening for their open mic night. The Wellington serves meals noon and evenings — Wednesday through Sundays. They have Sunday roasts and a good vegetarian selection. On a recent evening our group all enjoyed our meals; we had a steak and jacketed potato, fish & chips, steak & haggis pie, a vegetable nut-roast, and a vegetable Wellington. In addition to real ales, traditional spirits, wine by the glass or bottle, they also have Jim, Jack and The Captain (Jim Beam bourbon whiskey, Jack Daniels whiskey and two Captain Morgan rums). The premises are very clean and tidy, staff very friendly and prices are very reasonable. We are regulars at the Welly, does it show?

As always I give a unbiased opinion. And honest. Had Sunday lunch. roast beef. Went there on recommendations from this site. I can't review all the menu. So this is based on sunday lunch only. Good beers. Standard country pub. Good fire. Good service. And staff. Good beef. But over cooked. Good selection of veg nicely done. Soggy Yorkshire pudding. But ok. Sadly gravy tasted a bit on the powdered side. Good points. Hot. Clean. Good value. And the puddings are big...and looked delicious. Good menu choices.would benefit from A little less roasting. And a slice more of the beef Would help. Mash could have been smoother. Deep fried roast potatoes,? You do get a good portion. I would go again. But this could be great with a little tweak or two. But give it a go.

Two years ago we moved to the outskirts of Carlisle. My husband enjoys a couple of pints and a good chat. We found a really quaint pub in the nearby village of Great Orton, The Welli as it is affectionately known. Barry, the landlord is very friendly, hospitable, quick witted and good company. The food is pub grub, but very tasty, the chips are the best. Children are always welcome and they have a beer garden. In the winter there is always a welcoming log fire. One evening last Christmas, our "Prostate Cancer Support Group" spent a fantastic evening enjoying a traditional Christmas dinner at The Welli. Barry had transformed the pub into a Christmas wonderland. We had fairy lights, candles glowing, crackling log fire and great company. The food was so good, we have booked again this year. He works very hard to make your evening special.

Been here a few times since Christmas 2014 and each time has been excellent service and excellent food. The food is gorgeous especially the Sunday lunch. High quality meat from the local butcher.a simple menu but all pub favourites. Lovely atmosphere with the traditional decor and open fire. Would recommend to everyone I know.

took a chance and arrived early Saturday evening without booking, 2 tables available, robinsons real ale was being served in good condition, 4 different dishes chosen and everyone emptied plate, food was excellent, unfortunately no room for deserts, will have to return cos the steak served at table next to us looked mouth-wateringly delicious, slightly longer wait than expected but waitress apologised and quality of food more than made up for it

Scones are normally fab but had a take away flat white today which was pretty bad and extortionately expensive.
