Crown Inn, Broadfield in Carlisle

Popping in here one evening whilst on holiday felt like a warm hug after a long day. We were welcomed warmly by staff and felt very much at home. We left wishing this were our local! Highly recommend. Fantastic food with great (maybe a bit too great?!) portion sizes for the price. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Amazing food, amazing service and amazing staff. Love visiting this pub. Nothing is too much trouble!! Burgers are out of this world - a challenge to finish one!!! Not to be missed.

Amazing burgers with a bucket load of chips. Beautifully cosy with fireplace and bar. The decoration is vibrant with plants everywhere. Absolutely love the place. Only open from 7pm but worth the wait. We ordered a Ladyboy and Bombay Burger, safe to say you don’t leave hungry.

Such a shame, just drop in to see the place, heard great things. Pint of foster un-drinkable.

I absolutely ADORE this pub! The food is honestly exceptional. I've been many times and never had a bad meal. The portion sizes are unreal. You get A LOT for your money, which is actually very reasonably priced. I implore everyone to try their cheesecake. You can even take a slice home, when you inevitably can't fit anymore in! The atmosphere is so relaxed and welcoming and they now even greet me with my drink ready when they know I'm coming in. It really is the small things, and this venue has it in abundance. I couldn't recommend it more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Found this place randomly while working in the area. A proper hidden gem. Great food (massive burgers!), great value for money and a top pint of Guinness. Always try and go when I'm working in the area.

What an outstanding little gem of a place just on the outskirst of carlisle, a very warm welcome from the owners who are just such fantastic hosts, they made us feel very welcome and at home, such lovely people, and the food was absolutely top notch, the starters that we had ( prawn coctail, and a very yummy chicken salad) followed by the biggest burgers I've seen in a pub, wow just amazing, will certainly be making this place a usual stop, thank you for a great evening guys.

If you want freshly made food with massive portions this is the place to go

Impromptu visit , and we werent dissapointed in any way shape or form. Quirky lounge area, and tastefully decorated restaurant. The crown inn is a very quirky little place.. it's almost in two halves.. The reception and bar area, then the restaurant.. It's very warm and welcoming like an old English country pub should be - Ginormous wood fire with memories of old decorating the bare stone walls.. The food was fantastic, home cooked from fresh and enough to fill anyone's stomach.. Although I wasn't particularly interested in anything other than what I ate, there was certainly no lack of choice.. on the drinks front there was plenty of choice for a real beer drinking, beard weilding man but unfortunately no rosè wine for the ladies.. I would recommend the crown inn if you are in a small group and plan on making an evening of it.. it's certainly not a grab and go pub.. our table was booked for 1900 and we were seated for half past, order taken at 2000 and served at 2130 - no problem of course if you're not hungry or planning to do anything else that evening but for me personally, 2 and a half hours is too long to wait.. The manager did come and argue her reasoning rather loudly which almost turned the bad experience around for me - I was thrilled at the thought I was going to have to roll my sleeves up and have a good old scrap with the old broad, but again I was disappointingly left waiting.. anyway, after she stated she had a BA honours in hospitality and catering I naturally bowed down to her superior knowledge.. I was simply a customer.. clearly a losing battle.. The pub had one other table of 6 people which apparently warranted our 2 hour wait for oven space.. The manager did however attempt to soften the blow with a reduced bill.. All told I wouldnt go again for food at the risk of anyone else being there using up all the oven space.. however to catch up with freinds around the fire, chugging real ale yeah, why not.. beats sitting outside..

Myself and my partner made the 3 mile walk from our Air B&B on a recommendation and it was definitely worth it! Fantastic, friendly staff and amazing food! Will definitely visit again, very recommended.

Wonderful food! I had the 10 ounce flatiron steak which was closer to 16. My co-diners had their monster burgers, basically the dishes that their reputation rests on. One was the "Hugo", a huge homemade patty with gruyere cheese caramalised onions, and chutney. The other was the "short fat bloke with a dodgy haircut" burger. Same huge patty but with a chicken breast also thrown on top. Beer selection was good as it should be for a British pub. They had one pull tap and 5 other beers running through a cooling system making those beers cold as opposed to cool, something not that common in British pubs, especially those that are in the country. Unless you're familiar with the Cumbrian countryside, a GPS would definitely be handy as it is off the beaten track. Well worth the visit though!

I have been a regular for 30 plus years and have seen some real low points in this pub, down to hopeless tenants after Paul & Janet left, with the exception of Danny and Gem. The refurbishment hits the right note, the neon signs not my kind of thing but no big deal. Service & price fine. A cozy local long may it last.

Having not been in for many years it was lovely to see that it has been given a new lease of life. Excellent drinks choice, the staff are lovely & the food is wonderful & the chip I stole from my husband was the best I have ever had, crispy outside, perfect fluffy centre, yum!

El servicio fue super rápido las tartas y patatas fritas caseras y deliciosos. Mi curry era un típico pub/buena comida estilo listo, ¿qué más quieres de un pub curry? Una buena pinta de cerveza en un pub propiamente dicho.

Hemos comido aquí varias veces con mi novio y también en un grupo grande y siempre son bienvenidos por los propietarios y el personal del bar. Las hamburguesas son para morirse y todo casero, son enormes, así que asegúrate de que tienes hambre. No vayas hasta las 7pm ya que las puertas no se abren hasta las 7 de la tarde. . Bastante con razón, también esperar que esperar unos 45 minutos a 1 hora para la comida. Muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Fuimos para una reunión familiar, este es un pequeño pub en el país, muy acogedor. El personal es atento sin ser entrometido. La comida era increíble, con generosas porciones. Había 20 de nosotros y puedo decir que todos y cada uno de nosotros realmente disfrutamos de nuestra noche aquí. Recomiendo encarecidamente el Crown Inn.

Detenido en aquí después de una caminata de 17 milla de Bowness-on-Solway. Mi hijo y yo llegamos a pocos minutos antes de que la cocina era para cerrar pero el atento anfitrión dejaron comer de todos modos. La comida estaba loco desde cero, muy sabroso y sorprendentemente asequible! ¡Qué hallazgo! Altamente recomendado!

Pasamos unas cuantas noches en Carlisle reunirse con los amigos. Nos alojamos al otro lado de la calle en la casa de huéspedes tan angus pensamos que lo pruebe el Crown Inn para la cena de la primera noche. Tuvimos dos hijos y un perro con nosotros, todos la bienvenida cálidamente. La comida era excelente. Una buena selección de comidas, muy sabrosa, grandes porciones y cada principal solo cuesta alrededor de £6!

Uno de los mejores? No, la mejor. La comida es increíble, cocinado a la perfección, el chef es tan cortés, el personal es amable. El pub es histórico y bien decorado. Este es un ideal y romántica, situado entre Penrith y Carlisle, en los palitos de paz y tranquilidad. En el verano sentarse fuera y tomar la fabrica especial, en invierno sentarse en madera durante incendios y tomar un whisky bien o un vino tinto. Si vives en Cumbria, entonces tienes que ir ahí

Visitamos la corona para comer un bocado una noche, había dos Fiesteros malhablados corriendo mayores caballeros en el bar y éramos los únicos dos en la comida. Pedimos nuestra comida y esperamos 75 minutos para que llegara. Soy todo para la comida recién hecha, pero eso es sólo una broma. Opposite the Cumbria Park hotel so we spent an evening with family in the pub. Large pub with friendly and helpful staff, we didn't eat but the food looked and smelt good.

Had a table booked for 7o,clock,arrived 10 mins early to find the door locked.it was dark and raining so we knocked on the window only to be told we don't open until 7.sat in the car until it was open then had the most disappointing meal.I had sizzling beef which was tough as old boot and my friend had chicken with veg and CHIPS ....not,they were frozen French fries.lazy cooking!

Very good pub food, just the thing when staying away from home a lot. Makes a welcome change from the big chains. Very handy if staying at M6 Travelodge, they recommended it to me.

What can I say? Nothing changed from my last review.....well, we tried different food this time and all four meals were absolutely fantastic! I would recommend the "Gooooooooooooooood Morning Vietnam" burger....mmmmmmmmmmmmm! We WILL be back! One word.......excellent!

Había reservado una mesa 3 días antes por un 19:00 Cena con mi esposa reserva una mesa para dos, llegamos a las 18:55 en una noche de lluvia muy fría y encontramos la puerta cerrada. . . Miré a través de la ventana lateral y encontramos cuatro personas bebiendo cerveza en conseguir la atención uno de ellos daba a mi manera. . Señaló en su observar. e indicó que no estaban abiertas hasta las 19:00 girando que permaneció en potable sin movimientos para abrir la puerta

Cuatro de nosotros nos reservamos para 7:00 y en la segunda fuimos, había un ambiente cálido y acogedor del lugar, con una chimenea crepitante va demasiado! Directamente al bar, y con una pequeña decepción no había una gran selección de cervezas (cervezas), pero que no importó como había Oro en proyecto! Hobgoblin ! ! ! Ahora, la comida, bueno, qué puedo decir? Le diré lo que puedo decir. . . . . Es voltear precioso! Tres de nosotros tuvimos las hamburguesas, por supuesto, y uno de nosotros tuvo la salchicha. Las patatas fritas llegó en un pequeño bote neumático. . . . Bien, no es que. grande, ja ja! Un montón de patatas fritas para todos nosotros. . . . Y encantadores. La camarera, que también tomó nuestra orden era muy amable y muy agradable también. En cuanto al precio, la comida era muy buena relación calidad-precio. Just across the road from the Carlisle Park Hotel where we were staying but we were told we could not eat there.. so we crossed the road to the Crown Inn.. well what a great meal we all had and a few pints of the local brew... at nearly half the price of the Hotel..

Trabajan en la zona y fuimos una pinta ser comida. No lejos de la cerveza estaba bien y la comida estaba bien. Pero obviamente menos experimentados. El hombre del bar cuando llegué estaba malhumorado, pero cambió cuando su ayuda. Si quieres comida que puedes fotografiar a enviar a sus amigos, buscad otro sitio si necesitas llenar tu vientre a un precio muy razonable, entonces este es el lugar. No tocaban!
