We go here frequently as a large group and always have an enjoyable experience. Food is always good and staff are very friendly.

Everything was perfect, even my 7 year old boy ate his way through his Chicken Tikka with not fuss, great atmosphere

We get this takeaway all the time and it is consistently delicious. Thought it was time I leave a review as this place truly is the best Indian takeaway.

Having dined here several years ago and not been that impressed, we thought it was about time to give it another go. Glad we did. I'm vegan and my partner is vegetarian. We both had a thali, which was lovely. The waiter was also very helpful with identifying which dishes were dairy free. We will definitely be returning again soon.

Very disapointing meal.meat overcooked and sauces greasy. Popadums inedible. lt was the worst takeaway l have ever tasted.l will certainly not be having food from there again. A total waste of money.

I've just moved to Orpington with my wife, have eaten here before, amazing food, the best quality. Tonight was my first take-away from here, and WOW! Fantastic, 5 ⭐ the BEST Indian restaurant I've eaten at in many years, highly recommend, thanks guys, see you again soon 😋😋 Perry

I ordered a home delivery meal for the family and it arrived on time and looked delicious. However, all four of our meals were tasteless, watery even! Complete waste of money. I emailed the restaurant but have not heard back so I’m assuming that they couldn’t care less about their customers!

Getting takeaways for these recent months but the texture of the chicken feels like mulched chicken and plastic making it like tough rubber and tasteless. The Korma sauce has varied on Saturdays from being watery cream or heavy in coconut with a sickly amount of sugar then occasionally the right texture and taste. Can never rely on getting a good curry from here.

Been here a few times but have to say that tonight I was very disappointed with the food and service. The chicken was very over cooked and like rubber to eat. Wasn’t even asked if we wanted a dessert; at 10.20pm we had finished our main (only customers in there.) They turned the music off and shoved two chocolates on a plate - I guess they wanted their only customers to go. Shame because my partner used to go here all the time with his parents. Will not go back.

A lovely clean bright family run restaurant,no paper napkins or table cloths here. Nice clean linen cover the tables with a bottle of spring water. The temptation to cut back over 30 years has been resisted. There's a comprehensive reasonable priced menu with unusual dishes I've never seen before. This make a refreshing change as other restaurants have cut back,simplified and restricted choice. The service was good with a complimentary drink offered. The food was good, meat portions on the small side but sufficient enough to fill me up Go your be splendidly surprised.

We had our first takeaway from here tonight and were very impressed. The mixed starter with poppadoms and dips were very good. We had 3 main courses, 2 rice and 2 naan between us and we have plenty left over for lunch tomorrow. We will definitely be using Village Cuisine again and highly recommend it.

Extremely rude on the phone, left us feeling distraught with no food. They refused to change our delivery address and ended up cancelling our order without consent saying ‘it cannot be found on the system’ knowing full well they were lying as they previously hung up on the phone very rudely. After this refused a refund leaving us completely broke due to their mishap that we tried to sort out. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Do you think you’re superior to us? The anger in your voice says you do. We were a group of girls just wanting some delicious food. We had some slight issues with deliveroo so we thought best to simply work it out with the restaurant themselves. We were met with shouts, screams and stress. This left us feeling ridiculed with resentment and rage. Not only were they blatantly rude, they had the audacity to hang up in the middle of us speaking leaving us confused and worried whether we were even going to get our food. They cancelled the order without notifying us for over an hour. We called them and yet again we were met with fury and they refused to refund us. I’m bitterly disappointed and I did not expect this from a restaurant I once loved that has degenerated into a place I will never recommend to anyone again.

Very tasty curry. Eaten here for a number of years but the first time we have had a takeaway (due to COVID restrictions) and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Always friendly staff and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this establishment.

Once again - we ordered from here and it was an hour late, and missing items. It is the second time this has happened and they offer to bring out the item - but as the meal was already an hour later than quoted at the time of booking.. We booked at 6:20pm on Sat night and were told 55 mins, then when they called for taking our payment, ti had moved to 7:30. The food turned up after chasing them at 8:05 (nearly 2 hours after booking and nearly an hour later than told) and items were missing. Really not worth it.

I was sorry to see the last reviewers problems, and was quite surprised. A real shame. We have used this restaurant for many years now, although most of the time it has been via home-delivery (since before Covid etc,),and NEVER had any sort of problem. In addition, the food has always been excellent -- and value for money, in our opinion. We hope Emma gives it another try sometime.....

Ordered a take away and it was 1 hour late. When we called they said they would be another 10 mins and slapped the phone down. Not impressed and wont be ordering from them agaib.

We had the Sunday buffet set menu - it was delicious and great value for money. The staff were friendly and very attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!

We have so far ordered takeaway from this restaurant twice during lockdown. We like their fish dishes. However, their takeaway menu does not have explanation of the main vegetarian dishes. Last time I ordered Hariali Sabji, it was nice but, sweet (added sugar) and there was far too much food coloring. I am sure this dish would have tasted nicer and much healthier without. Now I know when to order next time to ask for no sugar and no coloring. But my husband enjoyed seabass tandoori

Excellent best Indian ive had in years

This is where we regularly order our Indian takeaway. Lovely high quality food that makes us keep going back. I have the vegetable korma and my partner has the chicken tikka masala, large portions and we share a serving of rice. We have also eaten in here before and the servers were lovely and attentive.

Superb food and the staff are lovely , very lucky to have such a good Indian restaurant which is walking distance from our home.

I grew up in Luton so eating good quality Indian food was part of my social life. Since leaving Luton I have been to every Indian restaurant in the area and this is easily the best. Really good dishes great quality across the range. Highly recommend.

This is one of my families favourite restaurants and take aways. The staff are all ways friendly and courteous with great food. The sunday buffet is excellent value.

Although I visited when it was quiet during the week, it can become busy a bit later in the evening and at the weekend as you'd expect. Efficient staff and great food, priced competitively. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited in a very large group for the banquet night, food was good and service was very good from most except one waitor that was rude to several in the party. Overall the night was lovely UNTILL the bill came. They didn’t want people to pay separately for what they had ordered, they just wanted people to split the bill. So we then asked for an itemised bill that they would not give. This went on for over an hour with over £150 being added to our bill it was a real shame as it left a sour taste on what should have been a lovely evening.

I went to the Village Cuisine and I must say they have a divine dinners, beautiful brunches, stunning starters and lovely lunches. It is a family friendly environment and caters for all. I can taste the bengali roots buried into each dish which is cooked to perfection. I went for the first time with my asian friends and we all loved it. The service was lovely. I highly recommend it due to the lovely staff.

We visited on Friday evening with our son and daughter In law. We were all really pleased with what we ordered and felt it was fantastic value for money! Will visit again soon...

We've been regular customers of Village Cuisine but tonight we arrived to be told that they didn't have our table booking. This was so not true as the table had been booked a few days earlier. The staff were so not interested that they couldn't help so we were left to go and find another place to eat. Fortunately there are other better local places like Yazmins on Hastings Road who were happy to give is their last table. Shame on you Village Cuisine for your very poor customer service tonight. Next time we won't even bother!

Visited several times and have not been disappointed with the food. Relatively small restaurant with friendly staff that have been there for sometime. On occasions have variety acts performing which are generally very good nights and excellent value for money.

Living in Farnborough Village ourselves we are lucky to have such a great curry house on our door step. We have used the Village Cuisine for years , the food is always spot on and the service is fantastic.

A good quality Indian Restaurant with a wide-ranging menu. There were several dishes on offer that I hadn't come across before.

Very good food, one of multiple quality curry houses in this area. I'd probably say this place is the best quality out of the lot and the prices are reasonable too. Watch out for the dips which they charge you for but sneakily don't tell you until you see them on the bill!

This is a small restaurant with contemporary style décor and has been established since 1992, so it’s obviously satisfying the requirements of its customers. It’s not that large, seating forty at a pinch, which when it is full means that seating is quite tight. And it often gets full (or at least on Saturdays when we have been) because it’s good. There is no car park, but as it is located towards the end of the village parking in the road nearby is not difficult. We used this restaurant when in the area a couple of years ago and remembered it was good, so finding ourselves in the vicinity again we decided to give it another go. We weren’t disappointed.The menu offers much more than the traditional old favourites (which, of course, it also lists). For those who like to experiment with different dishes then this offers plenty of options. It’s one thing to have an innovative menu, but another to offer a taste that is different (rather than a fairly ordinary dish masquerading under a posh name as so often is the case). They vary the flavours very successfully. I like the Goan dish of Xacuti, which although not exactly an unknown listing of Indian restaurants, is not that common in High Street curryhouses, so when I see it I frequently go for it. Sadly I often find it disappointing. However, in this case I thought it very good, in a coconut based sauce but full of flavour and realistically hot (something often lacking in other versions I’ve had). If you like coconut but not the hotness of chilli, then the Shahi Narial Chicken (simmered in coconut milk) is a delicately spiced mild curry, ideal for those who like mild curry and reminiscent of Sri Lankan dishes without the hot spices. Our other dish of Garlic Chicken was OK – nothing particularly special or above the sort of formula curry served in Indian restaurants up and down the country but pleasant enough. The Vegetable Niramish was a good selection of vegetables with an underlying peppery taste, while the Tarka Dall was good, if a little oily. The service was efficient, while the prices and portion sizes were about average. For the quality of the food I thought was good value. When it comes to rating an Indian restaurant I often find that I am less enthusiastic than many because of a comprehensive background in Indian food (see personal profile if interested in details), but here I thought it was (to quote the earlier review) a cut above many others. Although perhaps not in my bracket of the top range, I thought it certainly surpassed the norm and merited the description of ‘Very Good’.

Food is always of a high standard, they have a great chef, service is good friendly as a regular customer we always get a very warm welcome.

A local Indian restaurant that are happy to give advice on the dishes and will prepare a particular dish if required. Good value for money and friendly atmosphere. On occasions has live music which are very nice evenings.

Been eating here for 20 years , the food is either outstanding or average , just like the service , Wednesday night is buffet night so you may need to book . They usually try to hang service out to make you buy more beer , it works !

We last came here about 3 years ago and nothing has much changed,the food is very average but edible.I think that the tables are too close together because when sitting against the wall you have to move your table to get out. It seems they have a loyal clientele as everyone knows each other.

Visited this restaurant with friends for a celebratory meal. The food was very good, service excellent and the price very reasonable. Would definitely go there again.

Last reviewed this restaurant in August last year, & had reviewed it a couple of times in previous years - always favourably. One always fears that 'the next order' will result in a fall in quality, service failure,etc., but (touch wood) this has not happened yet.We ordered a "home delivery" over the Easter weekend, and it was once again first-class. I tried the Tawa Chicken, and it was packed with VERY thick slices of chicken, and the other items we ordered were also very well received.Long may we continue to enjoy their food.

Went here for a girlie meal with my friends & have never been before but it's great! The food is super and the deal on a Wednesday is worth the set menu as its £10.95 for a starter, main, side & rice or nann. It's worth it although service was slow but that might have been because we were a group of 8, however was a great meal!

Having worked for with an Asian family I had the advantageous position of eating the food they had at home, things you never usually saw in a restaurant. The Village Cuisine does this, it presents you with things you haven't seen before, the staff are great it's a wonderful experience. I went there 20 or so years ago then a severe illness prevented me going for some time so when I went back I was delighted it hadn't changed it was still great only now they accommodate my wheelchair or walking aid.

We have used this restaurant on many occasions over the last 15 years or so, both eat-in & home delivery. However, we hadn't used it for a while until recently, so didn't know what to expect, but we needn't have worried. We ordered a home delivery & it was superb.Our main courses were buttered chicken and salli lamb tikka. I must confess that I did not find much evidence of the potato in the salli, but the amount of meat in the dish more than compensated. With side orders of bombay potato, mushroom & onion bhajis we had a most satisfying evening's eating.Thoroughly happy with the quality and quantity of the meals

Consistently good, my daughter is a coeliac and has never has a problem with food here.Prices are good and staff friendly.

After having 2 pints in our local pub we decided to go for a curry, the service and welcome was very good, we started with a bottle of water as I just had a hay fever coughing fit. (very sensitive throat).then 2 small bottles of Cobra then ordered a starter for me, as my partner knew his main course would be big, I had a vegetable samosa, which to be fair was very nice. We then ordered a bottle of wine (Sauvignon Blanc), My partner had a mixed grill which he enjoyed, I had Chicken special, which came with a sliced boiled egg, upon arrival the boiled egg was not sliced so I cut the egg in half, upon slicing the egg i noticed that the yolk was BLACK and not yellow, I asked the waiter if the egg was a duck egg or a chicken egg,, he went into the kitchen to ask and came back and asked me what I think it was, I said “what do you think” he could not say. I obviously did not eat the egg and left it on the side. At the end of the evening the head waiter came to me to ask if things were OK and i explained that the egg was a little to be desired and asked him “how old the egg was” he said that it was cooked yesterday, I said to him “no way” and said that the egg was cooked long ago, (I have cooked at home and at work for 40 years) and I have never had a boiled egg look like that. After a short while, he agreed with me and went into the kitchen when we heard shouting. What was the point of carrying out an autopsy, we duly asked for the bill, when we was offered a Brandy, of course we had it, left our monies (£53) and went home, NEVER to go back again.

Went here recently after reading the reviews, and I fancied a change. Went on a midweek night pretty early so it was quite but the decor is nice, clean and modern. The service was good and food even better! Good value and great menu. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

I first went here on 19.03.2015, the restaurant was full, and I had a take away meal for one, which I found to be excellent. I returned a few days later with a friend and enjoyed another excellent meal. Good traditional food with friendly staff. We spent £18 each with beers. A really filling and enjoyable experience.

This small but friendly place serves consistently good food either to eat in or takeaway with local home delivery available also. A decent menu with all your favourites, this restaurant is a good venue for friends and families, try it, it wont disappoint.

Have used the restaurant since it opened the Food is good the staff are excellent and the location is good (Farnborough village ) have had problems in the past with service especially on a Saturday night when we normally go but lately that seems to have been sorted. We always attend the music nights when they have them Elvis,Sinatra etc and they are always good value and fun. Takeaways I have had and are good can`t comment on the delivery as I prefer to go in and order that way I can sneak a drink in while I wait overall my favourite Indian In the area mainly down to the staff who I can chat to and have a laugh and the customers who are equally as friendly. Give it a try on a Wednesday night banquet very cheap and good value.

Curry was full of flavour and mouth watering! i wish it was local to me because i would be going here everyday!

The restaurant is nicely decorated although the chairs could do with replacing as they are badly worn at the tops. They weren't the fastest at bringing the food out but the food made up for it as it was nicely spiced. The naan breads were good quality. Portion sizes were above average. They also have free wifi which we didn't use. The address is Farnborough village but it comes up on their website as Orpington High Street which is misleading. We certainly will return.

The food, the service, the staff, the restaurant - all first class. Unusually for an Indian restaurant, we were made to feel as if we were the only guests and were very well looked after.

We have been visiting Village Cuisine since it opened in 1992, first as a couple, then as a family. We only ever had good meals here, and any visitors we bring say the same. The food is always good and reasonably-priced, the staff always friendly and professional. We usually visit on a Friday or Saturday night (not every week) and also sometimes take advantage of their delivery service. Every few months there is a midweek music night with a tribute act (Sinatra, Buble etc) which is always good value and good fun. I saw that there were no reviews on TripAdvisor, so I decided to write one.You will not be disappointed!
