Food was ok, service quick but didn’t appreciate the dirty look from Chinese waiter when he walked off which my husband saw. I only asked a simple question about the food,we were hungry so stayed but ordinarily I would have walked out .

Lovely place , lovely polite and hardworking staff. Good varied menu. Good drinks menu. Plenty of seating indoors and outside. Good spot to people watch. The food was lovely , good sized portions and well cooked. Reasonable priced . Gets busy which is a good sign and lots of regulars.

We always go here when visiting alderley edge, the food is always excellent tasty and good value ,we wouldn't go anywhere else

Whenever I’m in the area on business I make my way to this cafe. Fantastic service, fabulous food, always busy. I’ve been twice this week. The lamb burger and cheesecake are the best.

This lovely cafe is on the Main Street with a car park 2 streets behind. A 5 minute walk. Always a seat available. Service is very quick and friendly. I have the lamb burger with chips. It is superb. When I know I’m in the area I look forward to my lunch in this cafe. If I have time I have one of their great desserts. It’s always busy.

We have been frequenting this cafe for 10 years. The quality of the food is delicious, fresh and quickly served. Good value. Staff have the right balance of being attentive and friendly. Clean and modern interior. The 5* quality has never disappointed in 10 years, that's why we keep coming back.

The Village Café is in a great spot on London Road and is always busy. The manager runs a tight ship and will more than likely make conversation. The service is very good. We had veggie breakfasts and hot drinks, £29.80, pricey for the content, toast on the plate. Paid £25 for two giant breks with some lovely additional vegetable creations yesterday, in Macclesfield, same drinks. It is Alderley Edge of course. Agree with reviewers on here, the meat sausages aren't of a very good quality, the reason for going veggie on this occasion.

No fuss, good service and a good size menu to choose from. The staff are great and the service is excellent. The perfect choice when you just want to get there, eat and go.

Breakfast expensive but sausages cheap and nasty. Poor value for money. People here will eat anything and say it's nice because the place is trendy. Not offered any recompense when complained, would have not paid full price if on my own.

Cycled here for a smoothly. I was treated like dirt by the waiter. Won’t be returning. I chained my bike up well away from the cafe. I walked and was abruptly asked ‘take away or eat in’. I asked to sit outside. I was ushered out as quickly as possibly and told someone would take my order. This May all sound reasonable but it was the way I was spoken to that I object to. I spent £6.50 on a smoothly which was supposed to be pineapple a d strawberry. It was white in colour so I havnt a clue if there were any strawberries in it. The waiter was abrupt, didn’t smile and was unwelcoming

We have been to Alderley cafe a number of times and both the service and quality of food is consistently excellent. Usually always very busy which is a good sign, but even so the service was quick and efficient. Good range on the menu and can recommend the Club sandwich, and breakfasts. We will be back.

Very disappointed with with this full English breakfast, priced at £12 each, poor quality beans and sausages , had to pay extra for toast and tea / coffee , won’t be visiting again! Cost £29.60 for a very cheap quality Breakfast.

Was there to meet a friend for lunch at 12noon. I was early but was well looked after by the staff who were attentive & patient. After much chatting we ordered lunch. Staff were both friendly & efficient & food was tasty! We both had a great time. Many thanks.

Stayed in Alderley Edge for 3 nights had breakfast here for 2 consecutive days. Cannot fault it. Staff excellent, food excellent. Wish we had returned on day 3 as the alternative we chose was awful!

My son has just completed his university placement year and has been renting an apartment in Alderley Edge. I know that he has become a regular at the Village Café. Every time that my husband and I have come through to stay with him we have been in too. We have had breakfasts, lunches and just drinks visits. Every time the service has been amazing, so friendly and helpful. I asked once if it would be possible to have chips instead of crisps with my sandwich and was told that at the Village Café anything is possible!! Brilliant. They have a really full and varied menu and we have tried many different meals. Nothing has ever disappointed us, it has always been really tasty. I recommend that if you visit Alderley Edge you must stop into the Village Café.

We used to have coffee here in a regular basis but they now don't take contact details as they don't want to do will not be going there agsin, pity as really liked the cafe.

This is a lovely cafe, well situated where you can watch the world go by. The service is friendly and snacks are sensibly priced. If I had one niggle, it would be that the presentation could be better. Partner ordered a cheese and onion toastie which is just what she got, no garnish, no nothing. A little salad would make it look so much better

Turned up at 9AM and it was very busy, I’d never been before and I’m so glad I went. Great staff young lady and Man, served us very quickly food was with us within 5 mins! We sat outside and normally service is a bit slower not with this double team. Plates were cleared within 30 seconds of us finishing. Well done!! Will certainly return.

Stood in a queue for a takeaway at the Wizard tea room after a woodland walk and realised that it may well be quicker to see if the Village Cafe were doing takeaways. Phone answered by the lady who runs the show and by the time we'd driven down to the village, our order was waiting for us. Three hot coffees and three sausage baps. The only criticism was the quality of the sausage but it's very reasonably priced for the area.Called in a few days later with another friend and this time went for a bacon and egg toasted sandwich. We sat outside people/ car watching for quite some time and we weren't bothered by anyone although we did provide our phone numbers for infection purposes, which was good to see really. Again the quality of the sandwich wasn't great, the egg was dry and the bacon a little chewy but the coffee was good and the service here is second to none.

As Konak was an all time favourite when it was open in Alderley Edge we were thrilled to know that The Village Cafe aka The Village Kitchen was now doing take away/ delivery with a menu that read just like the old Konak menu. We ordered food to be delivered last night and it arrived on time and was just as good as ever it was at Konak! The spinach/ yogurt with pitta was yummy as were the marinated chicken wings. The lamb skewers and prawn skewers with rice, stir fried and delicious vegetables with the classic chilli sauce were just as good as at Konak - something you can’t often say about take away food. As we no longer have Konak to indulge in this will be our new favourite dine in.

The morning after the night before and my friends are off to the station in Wilmslow so this was the perfect stop off.Fairly quiet as still early and a mix of customers. Not sure where Scabad is coming from, the staff here are all so genuinely friendly and there were 2 workers in Hi Vis jackets so definitely not just for 'highbrow locals'!Everywhere was spotless with bright and airy ambience. I noticed that the tables were immediately wiped down after each customer left.Veggie breakfast, perfect. They've got the sausages with the mixed veg inside. Sauteed Mushrooms, cooked perfectly. Excellent coffee.We had a mixture of food, everyone enjoyed their food; smoked salmon, scrambled eggs.....delicious.A firm favourite, these friendly, hard working people deserve their place at number one in Alderley.

Called in for a coffee and a bite to eat.The waiter was rude, uncouth, abrupt and intimidating after selecting a table within five minutes he had asked us three times if we had decided what we wanted. While we sat we felt quite uncomfortable and noticed that regulars/locals were not met with such disdain. It appears to a non-local that this establishment is definitely a place for the local gentry and aristocracy. The coffee was sour and bitter and the cream on an espresso dispersed before drinking which shows a poorly prepared shot, for an establishment like this it was unacceptable.We would not reccomend this establishment and will not be returning.

We visit this small cafe often on the weekend. It's great for sitting outside and watching the world go by with some very tasty simple food. I'm a particular fan of their jacket potatoes, althought the portion size is huge!

Lovely, buzzing place. Everyone looked like they were thoroughly enjoying their food and some looked regulars. Both young and old(er) customers. Great service, prompt, friendly, welcoming and genuine. Had an amazing hot chocolate and filter coffee with cakes. How they make the hot chocolate so pretty, I don’t know. It was super hot too, which is great. Reason for one mark off total score is just the entrance door had lots of mucky finger marks on it (inside and out) and needed a thorough clean; everything else was very clean though :-)

Called in 11am weekday morning, absolutely packed ( had to sit outside !) This is clearly the place to be, as all the other cafes/ coffee shops in Alderley were very quiet ! Despite being so busy, service was fast and pleasant !

On the positive side the interior was spotlessly clean. However, there were a few small issues with the food, the café is cramped and devoid of atmosphere (more department store canteen than congenial village café), and in particular the staff weren’t friendly to the point we won't be rushing back.We were a bit disappointed as we came here on a friend's recommendation.

Seemed the place to be on Saturday morning. The place was packed. We were served quickly. Enjoyed our coffees and eggs on toast.

Three of us went for the first time for a vegetarian breakfast,we were welcomed at the door with a smile,showed us our seats,the service and food were excellent and delicious,with very courteous staff,best we have ever had,highly recommended 🙂

We visited here twice for breakfast as we were staying nearby. Both times the staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast is good value for what it is. The place was busy on the Sunday morning but they still managed to fit us in and serve us quickly. We would come back again if we are in the area again.

We popped in for a bite to eat after a walk. We were served by a lovely guy who was very attentive. However, the kitchen staff were on autopilot as two special requests/amendments for one of the meals were simply overlooked. This was replaced without question but it detracted from the experience a little.

Such a lovely independent cafe makes a difference from the other chains. Only enjoyed a delicious Cappuccino on this visit, sitting outside enjoying the sunshine - but I know it’s a fabulous place for breakfast and brunch too. Must come more often

We called in for breakfast whilst staying in Alderley Edge. The food was good, the service was friendly and there were vegetarian options.

Went for a family Sunday brunch on the way back from walking on the edge. Fabulous breakfast with perfectly cooked eggs. Have been back again as it was so good.

Went here today and given it was bank holiday Monday and they were absolutely heaving but we were seated immediately by very friendly and welcoming staff. We were served with drinks immediately and then food shortly after which was of excellent standard the only thing missing from the full English was black pudding and a fried slice but excellent work guys 10/10

Being coming for a few years now and thought I ought to do a review. This place is always a friendly place to come, the food is good and there is a reasonable choice. Deserts are brill. Can recommend

We used to visit the Village Café often - however having not been for I would say over a year the place has changed quite a lot it seems.

A short stop-off at Alderley Edge to check out the charity shops also found us needing a spot of lunch. The Village Cafe looked OK so we went in. It was nice and clean, not too busy and had a reasonably priced menu. The friendly staff took our order promptly and when the food arrived it was delicious! Thankfully the staff didn't constantly ask us if everything was alright! By the time we had tucked into our meal the place was packed with customers who obviously know a good thing when they see it. As a bonus the toilets were also spotlessly clean. The cafe exceeded our expectations and was well worth the visit.

With a couple of friends we had lunch and although busy we had good service.

Popped in for an afternoon drink and cake. Friendly staff in a clean cafe. Decent portion of tasty cake and large cup of tea. There is seating area outside for when the weather is right. Worth returning to.

Lovely and varied breakfast and lunch menu, very friendly and attentive staff and really well prepared food. The coffee was also very nice. There are even a few tables for sitting outside in the beautiful weather.

We visited here for breakfast on Sunday, it was very busy inside, but the service was quick, friendly, the food was served hot as expected and was value for money. Would definitely eat here again. Was a little crammed though so don't expect a quite atmosphere.
