Villa Toscana in Glasgow City

I was there with my mum before a concert. It was a bit frantic and we were sitting very near the door so found it a little noisy and cold as the door was opening and closing a lot. I ordered from the pre theatre and my mum wanted to order just a main from this menu which she got. When the bill arrived, they had charged us the same amount for one meal as it cost for the pre theatre menu. I found this a little annoying as the staff didn't tell us that it would be better to order two courses for the same price. Food was nice but probably won't be back

I eat here twice every 4 weeks when in Glasgow. Staff are friendly and remember you and the food is always amazing. Great flavours and filling too. Worth the visit always

Fabulous little restaurant with a real authentic feel to it - unlike some others that have sprung up in the area over recent years. Staff were happy, friendly and relaxed even though it was rammed. Food was excellent. Not overly fussy or fancy, this was also part of that authentic feel. Food is well priced but like anywhere the drinks are pricey, but I always feel that serves me right. There was a decent pre theatre option on offer as well. On phenomenal service levels, my wife left her phone behind and we only noticed when we were in the Hydro for a concert, the restaurant would be closed by the time we got out and the staff went to extra lengths to leave the phone with a nearby shop and sent me a text with pics of exactly where it was … absolute stars!! Will definitely be back.

First visit but won't be last. Food incredible, cooked to order, piping hot & huge portions. Mussel started was huge, home made pate delicious. Stroganoff came with risotto & salmon pasta had huge amount of smoked salmon in it. Staff lovely. Highly recommended.

Extremely busy on Mother's day , but they fit us in and it was a beautiful authentic Italian restaurant. I definitely recommend the risotto. My daughter had the 2 course menu.

Food was good, atmosphere was cosy. However, I asked the staff for a vegetarian ravioli with the ricotta and spinach filling and tomato-basil sauce listed under the specials, and got served the funghi ravioli instead. When asked whether there was another vegetarian option, the staff said the mushroom one was the only one available. Quite disappointed.

Pizza and pasta was quite good, that's where the compliments end. The desserts were really tasteless, worst tiramisu I have had and the wine was overpriced. The service was good. Give it a miss!

Best salmon pasta I've ever eaten!

We went there using a meal voucher on a deal. It was quiet but the food was good.

Food was lovely the restaurant was very quiet and the waitress was lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely food and great service we have been here 4 or 5 times and never been disappointed. We use Groupon, Itison and 5pm for great deals. Evenings are busier than lunchtime so book in advance to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended.

Good wee stop for nosh. Reasonable prices, friendly service but mainly about the decent portions of really lovely food. Recommended.

Food and service both excellent

I attended a convivial charity dinner. The proprietor joined us and was a charming delight. Excellent Italian food and excellent value. Highly recommended, especially as the staff are so attentive and efficient.

Had pasta with my daughter and both dishes were out of this world, would definitely recommend a hidden gem in the west end, will definitely be back.

Best Italian joint I’ve come to. Hospitality was 10/10. The staff were very friendly and catered to my needs when possible. I’m from London and I would come here again for sure. Highly recommend.

The prices have really jumped up. I don't think it was good value for money. Having said that the prices everywhere have jumped up. I had the carbonara and from memory the last time I had it it was a lot better

We dropped by for dinner before a show at the SEC. The place was packed but we were quickly seated as we had a reservation. The waiters were flying around which is understandable but also made the atmosphere not very relaxing. The food was great and came out quick, though the pasta portions could have been bigger. I got the cannelloni which were supposed to be filled but they were simply served with the sauce on top like any other pasta. Overall a good experience, but there's room for improvement.

Most underwhelming lunch I have ever had. Minestrone soup lacked flavour and missing pasta veg was chunky but mushy the bread served with it was highlight of the dish! Pate was not pleasing to the eye and lacked the homemade vibe I expected to taste the onion chutney was tasty and bread was basic and not rustic. Pizza base was very soft and basic not authentic and far to much cheese. Lasagne very underwhelming this dish was a pile of pasta sheets clumped together with a dollop of dry bolognaise on top and a sprinkle off grated cheese no bechamel creaminess or nice crisp of cheese on top and this sealed it I won’t return. Waitress was very nice she knew the food was below par and as did the chef who kept coming out to look.

Random walked in for this cozy Italian place, and little did we know we were in for a great experience. We ordered a meatball with garlic bread, a grilled fish dish and a pepperoni picante pizza. Sounded common but the meatball my world, just wish we ordered some plain pasta with it. We waited a little bit for the pizza and it was full of flavor (and spicy). Fish was also good. After the meal, the gentleman said they didn’t bill us for the pizza because of the wait. But honestly it wasn’t that long at all. Thanked them and wondered if I could order pasta with the meatball, which wasn’t on the menu. The answer was yes! We’ll definitely come back!

Food was lovely, had the set 2 course menu then ended up getting dessert too. Set menu was good although portions were pretty small and I am not a big eater. Food was lovely, just wish there was more on the plate. Service was good.

Wonderful restaurant and nice atmosphere. We are of northern Italian heritage and are very familiar with the region’s food. We highly recommend this restaurant. The steak on a bed of arugula with peppercorn sauce and steamed veggies is perfect.

Teveel geld voor een pizza. Smaak is lekker maar niet bijzonder. Kaas valt er vanaf en is mager belegt. Bier is wel erg lekker

Delicious meal finished the lot the garlic bread with mozzarella was to die for .I will definitely be going back try something new.

We had dinner on Saturday night and it was busy. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious.

Wir wurden vor Ort sehr aufmerksam und freundlich begrüßt und bedient. Als Freunde der italienischen Küche waren wir überrascht, hier so eine schöne Trattoria gefunden zu haben. Die Gerichte sind sehr authentisch und lecker. Es hat sich gelohnt, mal in Glasgow nicht nur schottisch zu essen.

Had a fantastic meal here before Iron Maiden. Service was excellent, and prices are very fair . Food was delicious.

Very nice place in west end with seating outside and lovely athmosphere. They offer small menue with 1 course for under £11 and two for £13. Kids menies available. Food is deliciois and served fresh and it is fast . Not a long waot even when busy. Service at busy times is a bit slow but inderstandable . They are very attentive to customers . Good for kids too.

Lasagna and tagliatelli carbonara were tasty and the staff were friendly.

Went in here on a sunny day and got seated indoors. Cue the 15-20mins of being ignored by the waitress despite being the only table to be waiting for literally anything. Only one other table occupied inside and they were eating. Outside there's maybe 4 tables? Been a good few previously and its been great for the money. The service this time was worse than abysmal.

In the area for work, and tried here due to there reviews. This is easily one of the best Italian meals I've had. Had an early bird meal (before 18:30) and it was wonderful. The staff were friendly and had a smile serving everyone here. I'll be coming back when work brings me to Glasgow!

My daughter (9 year old) and I went for food before a concert and the food was fantastic, fresh and served in a good time frame, staff were very friendly and attentive. Love this place

The food was ok, wouldn't say it blew me away or was anything special. Staff were reasonably friendly although, again, nothing special. Certainly not special enough to merit the service charge they took it upon themselves to put on our bill. For that reason I doubt I'll be back.

Great restaurant for family dining, couple dining, birthdays or business meeting. This family run business has been in Glasgow for decades and we know why. Top class service from all the staff team. They listen to your order and little requests like adding chilli flakes. Great with kids too, very friendly and will even go out their way to get you your kids ice cream. A restaurant that is full busy on a Tuesday, we know why!! We will be back!

Decent place for lunch and dinner. Couldn't give 5 stars, because of the service - I feel like there should be one only one waiter assigned for a table, because otherwise sometimes we had to wait 10 minutes to be served/asked for drinks/dessert.

What a lovely, warm, authentic Italian restaurant. It is great for a date night as well as a large group. The menu is HUGE! I had the Risotto Verde, and it was delicious. My husband had Pollo Toscana, and he cleared his plate. We opted not to have a pudding because we were stuffed. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant this evening. I can’t believe it’s been serving food in Glasgow for 20 years! That it’s still here speaks volumes. We arrived and were greeted by a friendly and informative waiter and were offered a choice of tables. We chose from the early evening menu…2 courses, a starter and main, both of which were hearty portions and absolutely delicious. Finished off with a very tasty Macchiato! I could not fault the service nor our meals and have already booked our return for my wife’s birthday where we’ll sample dishes from the a la carte menu. Definitely 5 stars from us both.

When I booked the table online it stated that I would have the table until 5.15. I booked it from 3.45. From the second we sat down we were rushed to order to the point that at 4.15 I said to the waitress that my understanding was that we had the table until 5.15 and stated that we were feeling rushed and it was ruining our meal. She then showed me the number of bookings they had for that evening which I can only assume was to justify why she was rushing us to order!!! If I hadn't complained they could have pushed us out in 45 minutes! Very disappointing and I won't be going back.

This is a nice little restaurant in a quiet part of town. Little also refers to the size of the dining room with small tables close together. The menu has classic but refined italian cuisine that tasted great and was presented well. The different dishes were served without undue delays and the staff was very attentive. Overall, this was a great experience and I recommend this restaurant without any reservation. It is a good idea to make a reservation because the place is quite busy.

Dined here this afternoon for lunch - this was the first time my wife and I had been to Villa Toscana - had a great time, we’ll definitely be back. Top marks all round - the food is fantastic - very generous portions. We both had the Pollo Milanese for our mains - it was absolutely amazing. The chicken was cooked to perfection, served alongside a large portion of pasta - very tasty indeed - and very filling! A very nice relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant, and the service from Aldo and the team is brilliant - everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Five stars well deserved - my wife and I are certainly looking forward to our next visit here!

Scrappy. Put in a table next to toilets with waiters brushing past my seat. Very poor. Also hidden prices (charges) which added to the poor service.

No problem if you are not an Italian but they passed themselves as of they would be. It was expensive for the quality of the food. They weren't kind. They guy kept asking if everything was ok but like he was doing us a favour, with a killer face. They tried to sell us more wine that what we ordered.

Overall disappointed. Don’t like to leave reviews, however this was for a birthday and we were left very disappointed so unfortunately have to. The food was not great at all. The pizza didn’t have a great taste and was even slightly burnt which is strange since it’s hard to go wrong with a pizza. The lasagna wasn’t great and the spaghetti with chicken was dry and had no taste. Unfortunately won’t be coming back unless improvements were made.

Received a voucher as a gift for our 45th wedding anniversary and was pleasantly surprised everything was lovely and the staff very attentive. Only small problem I had was the disabled toilet - could not close the door and no hand towels! Luckily I had my own wet wipes with me but the bin was very difficult to open as the pedal was facing into far away corner which meant I couldn't reach it.
