We visited Celantano’s on a family holiday weekend. Celentano’s certainly is an essential for keen food fans visiting Glasgow - we would visit again when next in town. - Overall food, wine and value pretty good. Particularly liked the pasta with crab and xo, salami made on premises, salted cod donut, lasagne fritter, steak with black garlic and potato. - Couldn’t fault any of the dishes/the cookery although seasoning a touch heavy across the board. - Endearing service except waitress (not her fault and appeared she’d been allocated entire upstairs) went missing towards the end.

**Restaurant Review: Outstanding Service** I recently dined at Celentano's, and I must say the service was exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. They went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was perfect. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and checked on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The food arrived promptly and was presented beautifully. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I can't recommend Celentano's highly enough for their fantastic service and hospitality. I'll definitely be returning soon!

All of our courses before the main course and our drinks were delectable. So tasty. The Agnolotti was the best dish we had, possibly during our full week in Glasgow. The main courses were not very good. I had the dexter beef, which was a rump steak, and it was not a nice culinary experience. I let the server know and they gave us a discount on our bill to offset some of that. The servers were great. The reason I gave 3 stars on service is that they moved us from our table to the bar so that another couple could have our table, even though we weren't done with our meal (we ordered dessert and then they asked us to move). The primary reason we weren't done with our meal after 1hr 45 min was that they took a long time to bring each dish out. Not the best, but still a solid place to eat. The people who work here are extremely nice.

As we were 7 we were obliged to have the feasting menu which was disappointing but anyway. The nocellara olives were average The food was OK nothing special in my view.- The chef has a fondness for sprinkling stuff over the dishes. The beef was cooked nicely but presentation is not the restaurants strong suit. The cheese was disappointing two pieces and some crackers. Service was amateur, drinks took ages to appear and as we had the feasting menu it might have been nice if they had been a bit more forth coming about what was on the plates. The 12.5% service charge seemed excessive. Disappointing for a Bib Gourmand from Michelin establishment, not much here to draw me back.

Had high expectations for this restaurant since they were michellin recommended, we had the feasting set menu at £49+12% service charge. Food was tasty but not a lot of meat involved. Service was definitely not up to scratch, the first waitress we had was superb but we then had another guy who kept making mistakes, the dishes he brought were not properly plated (missing garnish or missing portions) and we found hair in one of our dishes. We made them aware of these incidents but there was no effort from the team to rectify our disappointment - especially when they knew we were there to celebrate a birthday.

My only negative is the steak course on the feasting menu where if there is 1-2 people you get three small slices of rump and if it's 3-4 people you share a huge t-bone steak.....having done both now I think the rump is a big stingy considering the price is the same.

The quality of the food is clearly high, the menu thoughtful. However, I felt my cod cheek linguine lacked depth of flavour. The service was pretty lack lustre, and there wasn’t much atmosphere. Had visited on two previous occasions, and had enjoyed the food, although we had reservations about the service. This time the food was a bit of a let down compared to our earlier visits. The squid starter turned into a game of find-the squid, and when you did locate it under the dense layer of fennel slices you discovered that thirteen quid got you three measly strips. Shown on the menu as containing fennel and preserved lemon, we thought this would be fresh tasting, but the dense, rich ragu it came with was really heavy, and the flavour totally overpowered the flavour of the squid, which unfortunately was what you’d paid to taste. The linguini with cod cheeks and mussels that followed came in a similarly rich sauce, and the pasta was really overcooked - in my opinion - so that pasta and sauce were congealing on the plate. The crumb that garnished the dish had been toasted for so long that it had the texture of grit, and did nothing to enhance the other elements of the meal. Two very rich heavy courses in succession were not what we had anticipated, and two people at our table left almost half of the linguini dish each. This would normally prompt the waiting staff to ask if there had been any issues with the food, but they just whisked the plates away and said nothing. With a 12.5% ‘discretionary service charge’ automatically added to the bill they no doubt thought ‘who cares, we’re getting our tip anyway’. I routinely leave a generous tip if the service has been half way decent, but forcing a service charge on you for staff who merely brought your plates to and from the table and showed minimal interest in you having a pleasant experience will not encourage diners to return. Don’t think we’ll be back in a hurry.

Top notch Italian food with some Asian twists. Quite different from conventional Italian fare but all the better for it. We shared the barbecued squid which was delicious, followed by a pollock fillet and glazed Dexter beef, both absolutely stunning. We shared the exceptional potato strati which has to be tried and an excellent sourdough to mop up. Small but interesting beer, wine and cocktail selection and lovely, chatty waitress. This place has been on my list to try for a while but it's a bit out of the way, finally headed over for their Sunday lunch menu and was hugely disappointed. There were some good food points here, the kimchi doughnut and the ox tail starter were both really good, the rest of our menu was fine but nothing amazing. What really let the place down was the service, we arrived bang on time and our table wasn't ready, fair enough they offered to let us sit at the bar with a drink, queue a 20 minute wait where nobody took our drink order. Sadly that would set the theme for the rest of the meal, to be fair we were apologised to by several of the staff when they misplaced our side dish for 10 minutes while we ate our mains, and then again when they completely forgot to take our dessert order because they were either snacking at the bar or cleaning the place down ready to close before we'd even ordered. To add insult to injury it's one of those awful restaurants that adds a 12.5% tip to your bill, if you think your food or service deserves more money increase your prices, don't add undeserved money to a bill knowing people will feel too uncomfortable to ask for it to be removed. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend, very much not worth the money and I'm stumped how they got a Michelin recommendation.

Service was a bit poor, staff were all friendly enough but lots of things wrong with our order and a few other mistakes/errors as to why I am marking it down. This was our second visit to Celentano’s and it was even better than the first! The staff are all lovely and accommodating. We were seated upstairs ( two flights of a lovely stone spiral staircase). The restaurant was busy and this made for a great atmosphere. Staff checked on a couple of occasions whether we had any allergies etc. Everything we ordered was delicious from the nibbles (shoutout to the cod doughnuts) to the pasta, and the wonderful glazed beef. As for the desserts, I’d almost forgo a starter so I can have one (and I’m not a huge dessert fan) the Celentano affogato is one of the best desserts I’ve had. We visited here last week for my husband’s 60th. The food was delicious and not overly priced… but not cheap. There are a selection of snacks you can order from, along with antipasti dishes, main courses and desserts. We had quite a selection - the most outstanding being the coppa snack, the Dexter beef and the affogato (to die for!) The sorbet dessert at £6 was lovely - but tiny!! The ambience was lovely and the service great (be aware that 12.5% service charge added to bill) The only down side was the wine… we had a bottle of the white Agredo which was a ‘blended’ wine? Was nicely chilled but not a great flavour. The merlot was also just ok. Everything else good though, def worth a visit!

We booked for lunch as looking for somewhere we hadn't been and heading to a movie afterwards at the Everyman. Although we rarely post on Tripadvisor now as we think it's a bit of a dinosaur, we had taken a quick look this morning for reviews; originally, we saw the restaurant on Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmand and much deserved. We arrived early for our reservation and the staff were welcoming and very friendly. We didn't try the snacks menu apart from delicious bread and olive oil although they sounded delicious and probably a place to come with more for great sharing. Our main courses were beautifully presented and very tasty. We don't normally have pudding or anything else but chose a cheese plate and panna cotta. The pudding huge and tempting with colour and flavour; the cheese platter a stunner with fab cheese, honey and the most delicious crispbreads. Have never explored this area of Glasgow and will definitely be back. Thank you all for a lovely lunch. PS If you're parking outside on the pay to park, there are no signs for the road number. One of the lovely staff gave us the number.

Upon entering, my partner and I were filled with anticipation for a memorable Valentine's Day dining experience. However, our expectations were quickly dashed as we were directed to a barstool table despite having made a reservation for the downstairs restaurant. Requesting to be moved to a more suitable setting seemed like a reasonable ask, especially when we noticed there were other available tables. Disappointingly, we were informed that this was not possible. As we proceeded with our meal, our disappointment only grew. The feasting menu, while promising, failed to deliver on its potential. The dishes were bland and underwhelming, with the exception of a standout pasta course. However, even this lone highlight couldn't salvage the overall lackluster experience. Adding to our dismay was the discrepancy in treatment we observed. While we were denied a table change, an older couple nearby was swiftly accommodated when they made a similar request later in the evening. This inconsistency in service left us feeling undervalued as patrons. Furthermore, the presentation of the waiting staff was lacking, with noticeable disregard for appearance and professionalism. Their attire, featuring dirty footwear, white t-shirts, and black trousers, did not align with the upscale ambiance one would expect from a Michelin Guide restaurant. Also to add the pouring dish for olive oil was cracked and chipped. In and, our experience at the restaurant on Valentine's Day was marred by disappointment in both the service and culinary offerings. Despite its esteemed reputation, the feasting menu proved to be lackluster and uninspired, with only one standout dish amidst a sea of mediocrity. We hope that management takes this feedback constructively to improve the overall dining experience for future patrons.

I was really looking forward to going to the restaurant. All 4 of us went for the feast menu, the star of the meal would be the rib eye on the bone. Most of it was fat, I could not eat it but my friends were happy with it. My problem with this restaurant was not so much the food, although I thought it was too expensive but the waiting staff were very cold. We ordered 2 bottles of wine, the feast menu for 4 and the a cocktail each, it came to £352, seriously expensive however when we left after paying a 12.5 % service charge not one single member of staff looked up and said thank you or goodbye. 4 were standing at the bar texting and on their mobile, at this time it was not very busy. When I emailed to express my disappointment, I received a response from Anna which told me the staff had been asked and they had told her they did offer alternatives, which is entirely untrue. I was looking forward to dinner at Celentano's. I booked the table by telephone a couple of weeks earlier. However, on arrival I was told my booking had been cancelled because I had not confirmed the table reservation. I assumed I had missed an email or text asking for confirmation although this requirement wasn't mentioned when I booked. I've since checked my emails and texts and none were received from Celentano's. We were told we could have a high table on bar stools adjacent to the bar. This was a table for 4 and we would likely have to share with strangers. I couldn't focus on the menu as I was hugely annoyed about having my table reservation cancelled without prior warning. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere. There is clearly a problem with how Celentano's manages their reservation system. A courtesy call to check why I hadn't confirmed would have highlighted that no confirmation request had been issued by the restaurant. Celentano's appears to prefer to simply cancel your booking and ruin your dinner plans.

Went for dinner for my birthday and was very disappointed. The snacks were all amazing, couldn’t fault them. We ordered the linguine with lobster, bisque and pork xo, there was no lobster in the dish and when we questioned it with our server she went and spoke to the chef and then came back and told us that is was in fact cod cheeks. My partner doesn’t like fish and we ordered this specifically because we both love lobster so we were very disappointed. They have used cod cheeks as they are probably the most similar texture to lobster so it felt like they were trying to just pass it off as lobster and hope no one noticed. The mains that followed this were alright but nothing special, the hogget was tough, underwhelming and the presentation was lacking. We were offered a free dessert because of the pasta, which was a nice gesture but just felt like too little too late. I hope they change their menu description to accurately reflect what is actually in the dish for future customers so no one has the same issue we did. This was our second visit, as I had wanted to try it again after our first time was much the same, but as it had just opened we reduced this to teething problems having a new venue, but we will definitely not be returning in the future.

Stunning food. In every mouthful I felt a different texture and burst of flavour. It is a must visit in Glasgow. Everything is exceptional but only two critiques I have is 1. The drinks were far too pricey. Red wine came in 125 ml and price was crazyyyy. And menu was so hard to read!!! Could print it a bit bigger pls. 2. Service was not outstanding which is ok. I came here for the food and the food did not disappoint but I feel with a venue that serves such incredible food, service could be better. We never had a check back. The menu wasn’t described well by the waiting staff. Will I visit again? YES. But do I think they can improve with service and make menu easier to read, also YES.

Perhaps a 3.5 if halves were allowed, so 7 out of 10, not 8 The menu looked great in advance; a new and novel Italian in Glasgow with intriguing wines. In reality, the food was certainly different but I found it just a bit mushy...

This was my second visit to Celentanos for lunch and it was every bit as good as the first time. The food is well made and utterly deliciously and my friend and I were looked after really well. The cod kimchi buns I agree are perfect especially when you've just arrived and sat down hungry, and for me the lobster bisque linguine dish was also a stand out. Thank you for a fabulous afternoon out.

Found the monkfish very bland (as if it had just been boiled in water, with no seasoning). Wasn’t a fan of the cut of beef and found the sauce too sweet. Pretty expensive also.

Sadly we won't be returning. Almost everything we ate was great, however completely ruined by being forced out. After arriving 5 minutes early and ordering on time we were told our departure time by a member of staff mid meal and then force dropped our bill during dessert, before our allocated time on my email reservation. 1 hour 45 mins is already not enough time for a leisurely lunch but to cut this short.... Having worked in hospitality for years I was shocked. The staff didn't know but this was for my mums 70th, we didn't want to make a fuss so had to leave and head to a coffee shop.

My boyfriend booked this restaurant whilst on a mini break in Glasgow. At first, I was unsure why he booked it, but I'm glad he did. The food was superb. The doughnut and kimchi small plate was my favourite dish. Sexy restaurant, great for dates and excellent service. Would recommend!

I really, really wanted to give Celentano’s a five star review as there was so much I did like about it, however there were a few wee niggles. Don’t get me wrong, if you go, you’ll come away knowing you had some tasty food and...

Had the set menu here and it didn’t disappoint. Each plate was perfectly balanced and exquisitely presented. Service was very good too. Managed to get us sat inside as it was cool outside. Exemplary. The best meal I’ve had in Glasgow.

Celentano's has really come of age compared to my visit two years ago. A sublime Agnolotti dish was followed by an exceptionally good elderflower sorbet. But everything was good.

Went for dinner with a friend tonight and we did not like it one bit! We got sat down, place was cute but once our server came over to take the order, we had picked a main each but we felt under pressure to pick more items, we did not ask for any recommendations or anything yet our server was insisting we get more. The food was meh, not worth the money. Very disappointed as we still felt hungry when we left and they didn’t even bother asking what was wrong with the food. Also our server kept insisting us to buy alcohol but we said once we don’t drink and he kept going on about it, wasn’t funny! Overall not the best trip and will deffos not be going back!

Very disappointed after my last visit. I have been here several times and it was my favourite "treat spot" in Glasgow. The service was appalling. Our server almost seemed annoyed that we had arrived for our booking, on time and excited. I had been raving...

Perfect location, architecture, interiors, music & service. We each were delighted with our order from the Wed/Thurs lunch pasta + glass of wine offer. Shared a heavenly affogado for desert.

This is the review of a real Italian you were looking for. The place and the staff are really nice. The food is nice too but it’s not Italian. It Is Scottish people trying to replicate Italian food. I would recommend this place but if you’re looking for a real Italian place this is not the one

Food excellent. Service very mixed; one member of staff was rude and discourteous (clearly someone was having a bad day) whilst the other was polite and engaging. The room was nice enough but I was conscious the room doubled as the pasta making room.

Food was brilliant. I want even certain what I was going to get but when it arrived it was lovely. The ambiance was nice, and the view out the window of the necropolis was pleasant. Unfortunately the room doubled as a store for pasta making....

Took a long time for the meal to arrive (40 mins) we had the Hoggit.....which I found extremely fatty and not a lot of meat. The staff were very nice and helpful.

First visit here and won’t be our last. We had lunch here on our way to a show at the Pavilion Theatre which is nearby. Very friendly staff, lovely restaurant and extensive menu. The focaccia is light and tasty - yum. Spaghetti carbonara and the Casareccia primavera were cooked to perfection. A bottle of wine and some excellent coffee rounded off a very good lunch. No time for pudding as we were heading to the theatre but looking forward to returning to this restaurant.
