Wow. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in years. The quality of the food and service is just excellent. The menu is smart and sophisticated. The service is charming, knowledgeable and efficient and all this comes together to create a wonderful dining experience. I loved the building too. Congratulations to a clearly very talented team. Nice venue, pleasant informative staff. 12.5% service charge...mmmh no Sour dough bread a tad stodgy, chicken liver and mushroom mouse very rich, too sweet. We had smoked cod doughnuts (2) couldn't taste any cod. Mains, dexter steak nicely cooked but very cool. Monkfish warm but not terribly enticing. Sides of crispy potato thingy and a salad. You can't have a large glass of wine and its a 125ml glass..eh so double it. This was a gift, sadly not the experience I was expecting.

Came for the rooms, returned for the food. A wonderful hotel looking over the necropolis and situated in a super accessible part of the city. Close to the amenities whilst out the way enough to enjoy some quiet. Clean and well designed spaces with beautiful breakfast. Will certainly be back. It is very self organised, you access via code and let yourself in and serve breakfast which has been left at your door in the morning. I loved this as it suited my needs but may not suit some.

I had an amazing meal in the restaurant. The staff were all professional, welcoming and friendly. I was there on a Sunday when it is a set menu - choose from two starters and from four mains. I could quite happily have chosen any of the options as they all sounded fab. I also had one of their cocktails, a Seasonal Daiquiri which, on the day I was there, was a pickled apple and citrus daiquiri. It was sooo good I had to have a second!!!

On Christmas Eve, we had the pleasure of dining at Celentano's in Glasgow, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the warm and festive ambience set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The restaurant’s charm, coupled with attentive and friendly service, made it the perfect spot for our Christmas Eve celebration. We began our meal with an indulgent round of cocktails and champagne, which were expertly crafted and truly delightful. To accompany these, we sampled a selection of small bites that showcased the kitchen’s skill and creativity. The lasagne fritti were melt-in-the-mouth perfection, while the chicken liver mousse was silky smooth, complemented by a crunchy crumb and a tangy “ketchup” that elevated every bite. The house-made bread was a standout – fresh, warm, and utterly delicious – as was the house-made salumi sausage, which offered a depth of flavour that was truly memorable. For our next course, we each enjoyed the restaurant’s signature beef pappardelle as a small plate. This dish was pure comfort: the tender beef and perfectly cooked pasta were enveloped in a rich, flavorful sauce that left us wanting more. We then shared the rib of beef for the table, a centerpiece dish that was cooked to perfection. Each bite was juicy and flavourful, highlighting the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs. Accompanying the beef were sides that were just as impressive. The salad was crisp and refreshing, while the potato strati stole the show – crispy on the outside, fluffy and light on the inside, and simply irresistible. To round off the meal, we treated ourselves to Celentano’s take on affogato. This playful and indulgent dessert was the perfect ending to a spectacular dinner, leaving us with smiles on our faces and already planning our next visit. Overall, Celentano’s is a gem in Glasgow’s dining scene. The ambience is perfect, the service is attentive without being overbearing, and the food is a masterclass in flavour and presentation. If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers on every level, Celentano’s is a must-visit. Our Christmas Eve dinner was flawless, and we can’t wait to return.

I had really high hopes for this meal and had been looking forward to it for a couple of weeks but unfortunately was let down and feel hugely underwhelmed. Walked into the restaurant to wait at the door while two staff members looked at us dazed, not sure if they were new, but a greeting and gesture into the restaurant would have been a good start. Then asked to wait in a weird corridor before being collected by another member of staff who took us upstairs. No one took our wet jackets so had coats and jackets piled over our chairs throughout dinner. Once seated upstairs, the whole experience was strange, the room was quiet and no music played for a while. Felt as if it was an over spill for people, not a room that was chosen to be in. Menus were bizarre. We were sat at a table for two and had four of the same menu and no feature menu, and a bunch of drink menus. This was eventually sorted but annoying. Food was really tasty and the Dexter beef is definitely worth the price but at this point the restaurant had got off to such a bad start a lot of work needed to be done. The Waiting staff need to be trained, lack enthusiasm, lacking the je be sais quoi and to be honest the 12% tip highly annoyed me as I actually think this accounted for the bad service as they knew they’d get their tip regardless of the experience, which is a shame. It’s highly annoying this tip is automatically added to the bill and then a charitable donation is further added to the bill. Felt like a take take take experience. Personally would have preferred that I was made aware of the donation at the start of the experience, and could have chosen whether to opt in, instead of being asked to opt out. I am aware I could have asked for these to be removed, but by the time I had asked three times for the bill. I just wanted to pay and be done with it. Once we paid, no one greeted or thanked us. Would have been great to see some sort of curtsey from staff if you would like patrons to return? As I’ve said, the food was great, but the experience altogether left a lot to be desired. Honestly wanted to love it. However, lots of other great options so will not be back.

When our original dinner plans fell through, we were left scrambling for a last-minute reservation. Thankfully, Celentano’s came to the rescue and graciously accommodated us at very short notice – a testament to their exceptional service, which continued throughout the evening. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. We began with a selection of their snacks, each one a delightful burst of flavour that set the tone for the meal. We then opted for the Pappardelle with Dexter Beef and Corra Linn, a dish so tender and flavourful it practically melted in the mouth. This was followed by the glazed Dexter beef and BBQ trout fillet served with strati potatoes, which were a perfect balance of crispy and fluffy, showcasing a level of precision and care that elevated the entire meal. To finish, we had their take on affogato – a beautifully crafted dessert that was both comforting and sophisticated. The wine selection was excellent and paired perfectly with our meal. The restaurant’s atmosphere was warm and lively, adding to the overall experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend Celentano's to anyone – it truly stands out as one of the best restaurants in Glasgow. From the exceptional service to the unforgettable food, this is a dining experience that stays with you.

This is a place I feel like I’ve been to before. I haven’t, but the decor has a feel of places I’ve been in LA, New York and Melbourne. It’s dark a dark and moody feel for a space with such high ceilings and multiple levels. It was raining outside, early in the evening, not all the lights were on and there were candles for ambiance. The food was great. The beer was lovely. The cocktails appreciated. But there was a gentleman who said he normally works in the kitchen that answered our questions and gave us insights on the food that made the dinner far more enjoyable and it is my mistake that I didn’t ask his name.

Another fantastic meal at Celentano’s. We were there for dinner yesterday and it was phenomenal - amazing food, wine and service. I booked a table in the upstairs restaurant and we sat by the window. The ambience felt warm and cosy, with the room perfectly lit by candles. Sadly I can’t remember the name of our server (the wine really was that delicious) but he was welcoming, chatty and informed - and as a gluten-free diner this made me feel relaxed and comfortable. The food didn’t disappoint (it never does!) - gorgeous fresh pasta, beautiful seasonal ingredients and a varied menu that will wow a variety of dietary requirements and preferences. 10/10? Celentano’s certainly is an essential for keen food fans visiting Glasgow - we would visit again when next in town. - Overall food, wine and value pretty good. Particularly liked the pasta with crab and xo, salami made on premises, salted cod donut, lasagne fritter, steak with black garlic and potato. - Couldn’t fault any of the dishes/the cookery although seasoning a touch heavy across the board. - Endearing service except waitress (not her fault and appeared she’d been allocated entire upstairs) went missing towards the end.

All of our courses before the main course and our drinks were delectable. So tasty. The Agnolotti was the best dish we had, possibly during our full week in Glasgow. The main courses were not very good. I had the dexter beef, which was a rump steak, and it was not a nice culinary experience. I let the server know and they gave us a discount on our bill to offset some of that. The servers were great. The reason I gave 3 stars on service is that they moved us from our table to the bar so that another couple could have our table, even though we weren't done with our meal (we ordered dessert and then they asked us to move). The primary reason we weren't done with our meal after 1hr 45 min was that they took a long time to bring each dish out. Not the best, but still a solid place to eat. The people who work here are extremely nice.

The nocellara olives were average The food was OK nothing special in my view.- The chef has a fondness for sprinkling stuff over the dishes. The beef was cooked nicely but presentation is not the restaurants strong suit. The cheese was disappointing two pieces and some crackers. Service was amateur, drinks took ages to appear and as we had the feasting menu it might have been nice if they had been a bit more forth coming about what was on the plates. The 12.5% service charge seemed excessive. Disappointing for a Bib Gourmand from Michelin establishment, not much here to draw me back.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

Had visited on two previous occasions, and had enjoyed the food, although we had reservations about the service. This time the food was a bit of a let down compared to our earlier visits. The squid starter turned into a game of find-the squid, and when you did locate it under the dense layer of fennel slices you discovered that thirteen quid got you three measly strips. Shown on the menu as containing fennel and preserved lemon, we thought this would be fresh tasting, but the dense, rich ragu it came with was really heavy, and the flavour totally overpowered the flavour of the squid, which unfortunately was what you’d paid to taste. The linguini with cod cheeks and mussels that followed came in a similarly rich sauce, and the pasta was really overcooked - in my opinion - so that pasta and sauce were congealing on the plate. The crumb that garnished the dish had been toasted for so long that it had the texture of grit, and did nothing to enhance the other elements of the meal. Two very rich heavy courses in succession were not what we had anticipated, and two people at our table left almost half of the linguini dish each. This would normally prompt the waiting staff to ask if there had been any issues with the food, but they just whisked the plates away and said nothing. With a 12.5% ‘discretionary service charge’ automatically added to the bill they no doubt thought ‘who cares, we’re getting our tip anyway’. I routinely leave a generous tip if the service has been half way decent, but forcing a service charge on you for staff who merely brought your plates to and from the table and showed minimal interest in you having a pleasant experience will not encourage diners to return. Don’t think we’ll be back in a hurry.

We shared the barbecued squid which was delicious, followed by a pollock fillet and glazed Dexter beef, both absolutely stunning. We shared the exceptional potato strati which has to be tried and an excellent sourdough to mop up. Small but interesting beer, wine and cocktail selection and lovely, chatty waitress. Can't wait to go back.

This place has been on my list to try for a while but it's a bit out of the way, finally headed over for their Sunday lunch menu and was hugely disappointed. There were some good food points here, the kimchi doughnut and the ox tail starter were both really good, the rest of our menu was fine but nothing amazing. What really let the place down was the service, we arrived bang on time and our table wasn't ready, fair enough they offered to let us sit at the bar with a drink, queue a 20 minute wait where nobody took our drink order. Sadly that would set the theme for the rest of the meal, to be fair we were apologised to by several of the staff when they misplaced our side dish for 10 minutes while we ate our mains, and then again when they completely forgot to take our dessert order because they were either snacking at the bar or cleaning the place down ready to close before we'd even ordered. To add insult to injury it's one of those awful restaurants that adds a 12.5% tip to your bill, if you think your food or service deserves more money increase your prices, don't add undeserved money to a bill knowing people will feel too uncomfortable to ask for it to be removed. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend, very much not worth the money and I'm stumped how they got a Michelin recommendation.

First time visitors to Celentano’s we ventured out from west to east for dinner. What a great decision that was! This is a superb restaurant: fantastic food, every dish was cooked to perfection with the option of a small or large portion, and great service. The best Italian cuisine in Glasgow.

Went for a lunch, the food was all pretty tasty and decent. Service was a bit poor, staff were all friendly enough but lots of things wrong with our order and a few other mistakes/errors as to why I am marking it down. Particularly at this price point cause it’s not cheap. Our table was also quite dirty which put me off. A shame really cause I feel if they polished these rough edges it would be a really fantastic place to eat.

This was our second visit to Celentano’s and it was even better than the first! The staff are all lovely and accommodating. We were seated upstairs ( two flights of a lovely stone spiral staircase). The restaurant was busy and this made for a great atmosphere. Staff checked on a couple of occasions whether we had any allergies etc. Everything we ordered was delicious from the nibbles (shoutout to the cod doughnuts) to the pasta, and the wonderful glazed beef. As for the desserts, I’d almost forgo a starter so I can have one (and I’m not a huge dessert fan) the Celentano affogato is one of the best desserts I’ve had. Ended the night with a lovely cocktail at the bar downstairs. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

We visited here last week for my husband’s 60th. The food was delicious and not overly priced… but not cheap. There are a selection of snacks you can order from, along with antipasti dishes, main courses and desserts. We had quite a selection - the most outstanding being the coppa snack, the Dexter beef and the affogato (to die for!) The sorbet dessert at £6 was lovely - but tiny!! The ambience was lovely and the service great (be aware that 12.5% service charge added to bill) The only down side was the wine… we had a bottle of the white Agredo which was a ‘blended’ wine? Was nicely chilled but not a great flavour. The merlot was also just ok. Everything else good though, def worth a visit!

We booked for lunch as looking for somewhere we hadn't been and heading to a movie afterwards at the Everyman. Although we rarely post on Tripadvisor now as we think it's a bit of a dinosaur, we had taken a quick look this morning for reviews; originally, we saw the restaurant on Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmand and much deserved. We arrived early for our reservation and the staff were welcoming and very friendly. We didn't try the snacks menu apart from delicious bread and olive oil although they sounded delicious and probably a place to come with more for great sharing. Our main courses were beautifully presented and very tasty. We don't normally have pudding or anything else but chose a cheese plate and panna cotta. The pudding huge and tempting with colour and flavour; the cheese platter a stunner with fab cheese, honey and the most delicious crispbreads. Have never explored this area of Glasgow and will definitely be back. Thank you all for a lovely lunch. PS If you're parking outside on the pay to park, there are no signs for the road number. One of the lovely staff gave us the number.

Upon entering, my partner and I were filled with anticipation for a memorable Valentine's Day dining experience. However, our expectations were quickly dashed as we were directed to a barstool table despite having made a reservation for the downstairs restaurant. Requesting to be moved to a more suitable setting seemed like a reasonable ask, especially when we noticed there were other available tables. Disappointingly, we were informed that this was not possible. As we proceeded with our meal, our disappointment only grew. The feasting menu, while promising, failed to deliver on its potential. The dishes were bland and underwhelming, with the exception of a standout pasta course. However, even this lone highlight couldn't salvage the overall lackluster experience. Adding to our dismay was the discrepancy in treatment we observed. While we were denied a table change, an older couple nearby was swiftly accommodated when they made a similar request later in the evening. This inconsistency in service left us feeling undervalued as patrons. Furthermore, the presentation of the waiting staff was lacking, with noticeable disregard for appearance and professionalism. Their attire, featuring dirty footwear, white t-shirts, and black trousers, did not align with the upscale ambiance one would expect from a Michelin Guide restaurant. Also to add the pouring dish for olive oil was cracked and chipped. In and, our experience at the restaurant on Valentine's Day was marred by disappointment in both the service and culinary offerings. Despite its esteemed reputation, the feasting menu proved to be lackluster and uninspired, with only one standout dish amidst a sea of mediocrity. We hope that management takes this feedback constructively to improve the overall dining experience for future patrons.

What a lovely restaurant. Great food, amazing team working there, and a spectacular venue. We were so impressed. This is not your average Italian restaurant, it's an epicurean journey. When a restaurant that has Veuve Clicquot as their house champagne available by the glass, you know it's going to be special.

I was really looking forward to going to the restaurant. All 4 of us went for the feast menu, the star of the meal would be the rib eye on the bone. Most of it was fat, I could not eat it but my friends were happy with it. My problem with this restaurant was not so much the food, although I thought it was too expensive but the waiting staff were very cold. We ordered 2 bottles of wine, the feast menu for 4 and the a cocktail each, it came to £352, seriously expensive however when we left after paying a 12.5 % service charge not one single member of staff looked up and said thank you or goodbye. 4 were standing at the bar texting and on their mobile, at this time it was not very busy. For me there are better restaurants in Glasgow who have amazing staff

Went there for lunch and had great food. Some assortment of small snacks to start with where the smoked cod doughnuts with kimchi stood out. Some Linguine with cod cheeks and lobster bisque were tasty and just the right amount of picante. Finally the slow cooked beef was very tender. The service was slightly chaotic as we were a large group but it all sorted itself out in the end. The place is awesome with a slight gothic feel.

The food was sensational and the service perfect. We had charred calamari, lasagne bites and bread and wonderful olive oil to start followed by some of the best pasta my husband had tasted since being in Italy. The trout and monkfish were excellent. I’m not a great dessert fan but would actually forego one of the savoury dishes to have the almond madeleine AND the affogato…simply wonderful. The staff were so lovely and friendly and the restaurant just had a great feel. Somewhere to go with foodie friends.

Had the fixed price Sunday menu with my friend who eats a Halal diet. On booking I was asked about dietary requirements and ticked the box to advise my friend would need Halal options, but we were advised that none of the desserts were Halal, and the kitchen were unable to accommodate an alternative. I asked about sorbet or ice cream and was told no. My friend also asked for a mocktail and was told one could not be made. The server was not interested in ensuring my friend was accommodated. When I emailed to express my disappointment, I received a response from Anna which told me the staff had been asked and they had told her they did offer alternatives, which is entirely untrue. Though the food is nice, the lack of accommodation for those with religious dietary requirements, and unwillingness to be honest about this unacceptable, and I won’t dine here again.

We had the Italian sausage sharing pizza, it was enough for the 2 of us, but the pizza lacked flavour. We added salt, pepper & asked for basil & finally garlic which was brought but sadly not the best. Highlight: The pistachio cannoli are very good! Staff are helpful.

Lucky to have a good local Italian like this. The deli is fantastic, dangerous for my wallet, but really fantastic. The food is very good. I think the pastas are better than the pizzas personally. Staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is always buzzing.

Been coming here since it opened and the food quality has always improved. Take aways are swift and the dine in experience is great. Pizza's are fantastic and customisable. they have a good selection of pastas that can be taken away hot or cold to heat at home later, focaccias for something lighter and an ever changing selection of cakes.
