Celino's Partick in Glasgow City

Came here on a Sunday to catch the tail end of the breakfast menu. Food was great, service wasn’t bad and the atmosphere was decent. It was really busy but it still managed to feel quite intimate at the same time. It’s a popular destination and you can tell why

We order the Gamberoni and Branzino (the only Pescado option)and two glasses of wine. There were four prawns in the Gamberoni, the Branzino was just OK (though the waiter seemed annoyed I hadn't ordered the special version of it from the set menu) and the white wine was room temperature. At £77 for one main dish and one warm wine each (no sides/ dessert/ coffee), we felt sorely disappointed. Add to that the tinny music blasting overhead, the dismissive unsmiling staff, having to ask for water 3 times and being told to go to the bar while we waited for the table (there were 4 stools, all occupied and we were just in the way) it was an experience I wouldn't like to repeat, or to recommend. There are so many lovely places to eat in Partick with better food, better service and chilled wine.

First time & certainly won’t be the last . Family was well looked after , especially my 2yo daughter , who was kindly taken under the wing of your lovely waiter ( lady with glasses and light brown hair to go talk to staff and have some ice cream ) . Proper Italian experience from all other staff we encountered . Above all else the food was delicious.

Been coming here for a couple of years now. It's a stop off point for my brother and I when we go one of our cycling routes. It's a bit pricey so only visit it for a treat. A cup of flat white coffee and a fruit tart are my go t. Yummy😋

Lovely food however staff are extremely rude and have no common decency. I was enjoying lunch day until my aunt sat her glass down gently and it completely shattered everywhere. Staff held a grudge acting as if it was her fault until around 10 minutes later the waitress picked another glass of vodka up and it shattered too. The waitress was apologetic however from spilling the glass she had got vodka all over my aunts jacket. Leaving it absolutely stinking of vodka. This was the same issue as when my aunt had sat her glass down except the waitress had got it all over her new jacket. Staff made it out as if it was fine for the waitress and didn't care about her jacket but blamed her for the spilling it on the table. Manager showed no sympathy and when asking for a discount due to the now ruined jacket he began to become aggressive. Banging on the till, raising his voice and swearing. Shocking coming from a highly rated restaurant and had a terrible experience. Definitely wouldn't go back due to the TERRIBLE customer service myself and my family received.

Ideally located, upon entering you have the choice of a full Italian deli, featuring sandwiches and take out pasta. Going forward we were met with friendly faces and taken to our table. Service was good and timely. The starter I had ordered the Bruschetta which was tasty and loaded with tomato’s on a garlic bread… The main, not Arrabbiata at all. Again service excellent, a good venue however the food just didn’t tick the box.

Had lunch here today, service was quick and friendly. Food was excellent, we both had filleto spaghetti which was delicious. Picked up take away coffees on the way out which were also great.

This place is one of the most amazing places I have ever been to, took my daughter here for her 21st birthday 🎂 and it's was a very special place to her as her god parents had taken her. The food was amazing and also the staff thank you so much 🇮🇹

Came with family. Nice setting. Few birthday celebrations whilst we where there. No Calamari left so selected Chicken starter which I found dry and uninspiring. Lasagne for main was delicious. No Fillet steak which was very disappointing so husband had pizza which again he found a bit dry. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable evening.

Excellent family lunch. A bustling atmosphere, old school with the whole restaurant singing happy birthday to strangers. Top class food and wonderful service from everyone especially Dougie. Highly recommend!

Ordering from the christmas menu, the spaghetti al funghi was tasty, but the mascarpone was to greasy. The Bransino provencal supposedly had sea bass but there was so little on the plate that could br finished on one bite. From the regular menu the filleto was good and with the right amount of seasoning. On overall would recommend the regular menu, since the special one seems to not have been very well thought

Celino's is an absolute delight! 🍝 From the warm, friendly service to the authentic Italian flavours, everything about this place is exceptional. The cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for any occasion.

We go here all the time for breakfast..always amazing.

Usually love celinos but this visit wasnt great. Service was very slow. Ignored at one point and then told 2 minutes by someone else had to ask a 3rd team member. Food was ok but not as good as it usually is.

A fabulous catch up with old school friends in the perfect place. Food.... Service... Perfetto!!!!

First visit and I loved it. Excellent food. Nice wine although a bit overpriced. Let's face it, the mark up on wine is criminal. Here for a Christmas night out. Not my favourite scenario. I'll return with a smaller group. And a bank loan!

Three deli you walk through to get to your table is magnificent. You then get served some of the best food I've ever had. I can't wait to go back

First visit and definitely will return. Atmosphere and staff great and delicious food and choices. The festive lunch menu 2 course was £25 each or you could do 3 courses but we had no room as big portions. My husband had a Christmas dinner which he said was lovely and I had the pasta. I would advise booking as very busy . We also loved the shop at front where you could buy the food and eat at home.

Food was really nice. Coffee was tasty. There was no Stornoway black pudding which was a let down. I went there with a friend after my wife won a breakfast for two 'giftcard'. We used this to set up our day after travelling from the east coast to go to SportsBikeShop and AMR bikes.

We had a wonderful experience at Celinos partick.. ..as always. Staff are great,full on family atmosphere. Food is freshly prepared with the best ingredients. If you like to cook yourself they have a full on delicatessen with fresh Italian cheeses meats breads and olives. I love this place. For me it is reserved for special occasions. Wonderful place to eat and socialise. Thank you Celino.

Great food, good portion sizes. Restaurant uncomfortably hot. Service a bit slower than I'd expect, even for a large group.

Had cadna and pizza and calzone and mac cheese and lasagna and it was all amazing we really enjoyed it and the staff where so nice.

Prompt efficient and courteous service

Amazing delicatessen, filled with fresh home cooked chilled foods, cheeses, hams and patisseries. Staff are first class and cannot do enough to help. Great place for lunch, dinner and just a coffee. Also amazing hampers available. Located on the main street. Seating inside but recommend booking to avoid dissappointment. Well worth a visit.

Breakfast twice amazing the cakes looked insane don’t miss if you ate in Glasgow

Had the aglio olio and focaccia here the other week. The focaccia as soft and perfectly balanced with the olive oil while the aglio olio was cooked al dente. The service was also impeccable as the staff were very attentive. Will return here once more.

Fantastic italian meals at great prices served by very friendly staff

Waiter who has been there for ages was his usual, friendly, funny and professional self. Staff are great as is the cuisine.

I was really looking forward to this visit to Celino'sas it is some years since visiting the Dennistoun restaurant and it was great. The West End branch is much bigger and looks great but sadly the food and menu just wasn't for me and the menu was pricey. I didn't know what ham was going to be on the pizzas but it was too fatty for me. The staff didn't even notice the leftovers (or didn't care). Not my favourite restaurant experience.

i ordered the spaghetti bolognese, and it was delectable and pretty authentic. the warm ambiance matches the comfort the dishes provide. i just wish the staff noticed when we were signalling to pay the bill.

Tres de nosotros visitamos Celino un viernes por la noche. Siempre es un restaurante ocupado, así que vale la pena reservar con antelación. Es bastante obvio por qué siempre está ocupado. La calidad de la comida y el servicio es fantástico. Uno de nosotros optó por el filete especial, que fue increíble! Excelente relación calidad-precio. Para ser honesto, nada de la comida podría estar mal. Y todos nos fuimos con la comida en cajas lo que da una idea de lo generosas que son las porciones. Fuimos bien atendidos por Steven y el resto del equipo. Hay un ambiente muy relajado y el personal siempre te hace sentir cómodo. Absolutamente de primera clase y muy recomendable.

La comida encantadora, las cantidades generosas, tuvieron que seguir pidiendo bebidas - hay un delicado equilibrio para el personal de espera entre molestar demasiado a la gente y quedarse sin Pepsi! 😂. Hacía demasiado calor por dentro, así que realmente incómodo. Pero volveré. 👍🏼

Celino es uno de nuestros favoritos. Esta noche fuimos el servicio era excepcional y considerando que estaba ocupado sin reserva solo esperó 5 minutos. Mi hijo y yo conocimos a Alex por 1 vez en la calle esta noche 5 estrellas de servicio al cliente caballeros encantadores muy atentos y un crédito a la empresa. La comida era deliciosa y fresca. Recommended

Great place good staff worth visit

We were visiting from England, staying with family in Renfrew. Our son in law who was staying in Glasgow had been to Celinos for breakfast the day before & recommended it. So we booked for an early dinner on Sunday. It was brilliant, service was excellent as was the food and the restaurant had a really good ambience. We had a great time and will return next time we're over the boarder! 👏👍

The food is incredible. One of the best Italians in Glasgow. The waiting staff were 1st class and very friendly. Could not fault this restaurant. Will definitely visit Celinos again on our next trip to Glasgow. Also lovely Deli at entrance to Restaurant with a wonderful array of goods.

Very lovely food and the staff. Recommend it to visit. Breakfast was superb.

My partner had the pollo valdostand. The chicken was very dry and the pasta underneath it was very dry with hardly any sauce. She ate about 1/4 of it. Every other time we have been the food has been excellent.

Taste so good, and there have shop for foods too

Was really looking forward to trying Celino's but unfortunately was left disappointed. Brioche bun on the chicken burger wasn't fresh...hard. Also supposed to have mayo and has the tiniest skim on the top bun. Lettuce and tomato were poor too. Chicken was nice but they got the simple stuff badly wrong.

This was a great little find as we only had an hour to spare. Service was prompt, food was delicious, and the dessert was divine.

Went for dinner here last night for the first time after hearing mixed reviews. Lovely inside and our main courses were good. It was more the poor service that let down the evening. Most (not all) of the staff just not interested. Brought out the wrong main course which meant by the time mine finally came out the 3 other people i was with had finished their meals. Had to ask for the dessert menu twice and the bill 3 times with a long wait between. I ordered the chocolate fudge cake and couldn't finish it, was like one of those cheap frozen gateaux's from the 80's, didn't even taste like chocolate. No offer of black pepper or parmesan on mains, struggled to get attention of staff to ask for more drinks. So really nice restaurant and deli and the main course was lovely but massively let down by poor service. Based on last night's experience I wouldn't go back. Disappointing.

I usually enjoy the energetic energy Celinos offers, however I met with a friend, we were placed on a small table between two large tables, both of which had children. This is usually fine, I usually have my two well behaved children. However the table to our right had three young children who were very hyper active, they were running rings around our table at one point. They were arguing with each other, holding on to the back of my chair. It was very frustrating so my friend politely asked the parents to ask them to move away, which they did. However five minutes it later is was all happening again. I noticed two members of staff squeeze by them with hot plates of food, an accident waiting to happen, and simply laughing and encouraging their behaviour. The table behind us was also frustrated and it really felt like we were forgotten about as customers. I love family restaurants and take my children out frequently but this behaviour tainted our view of Celinos.

Ok food but second consecutive visit where the overweight waiter has a horrendous attitude problem. He walked down the narrow aisle, stood on my foot then provokingly looked at me in anger, instead of apologising. My feet were also within remit. Will not visit again 🙄

Food was delicious. Service slightly variable (some staff friendly, some not). It was very busy (obviously popular) and they did turn the music down when asked. I really don't see the need for playing loud music when the place is buzzing already, hence 4 stars. If places where you have to shout at your dinner companions is your thing, then 5 stars.

It has been a while since Im here last time, but the cakes have been quite good!

We really liked it here. My family has been going for lunch here quite regularly. It's the first time I managed to join them & it won't be the last. We had the set menu. I had mussels to start which had a supplement but they were delicious. Prawn & courgette pasta for the main & chocolate fudge cake to take home. My mum had the lasagne & it was great too, I stole a taste. She's not a big eater these days but managed the lot. My sister had the seafood risotto, it had a supplement too but she said she'd really enjoyed it. Love the big deli they have in here too. Next time I'll have to take a proper look & buy a few things. Busy so maybe book a table in advance like we did, staff were on the ball & a bit of banter too but didn't rush us. Great experience all round.

Dined at Celinos for my Birthday dinner of 14 ppl ,everything was fantastic from the staff to atmosphere to the food , everything efficient even with a full restaurant on a bank holiday Sunday evening, thank you for a great evening everyone thoroughly enjoyed 😊

The pre made food in the grocery section can be hit or miss. Sometimes the tiramisu is the best I’ve ever bought in store but recently they’ve been awful, not even good enough to eat…

This place just gets better and better. The food is to die for. This is our go to Italian restaurant. The veg lasagna was sublime and the Affogato topped off a brilliant meal. A wee bit pricier than others but definitely worth it. Staff are terrific as well. Be sure to book in advance. The place is always busy.

Visited on Saturday the 21st of September with family and friends for a pre gig dinner. Have been coming to Celinos for a few years now and every time it never fails me. It was very busy but a great atmosphere and weren’t kept waiting due to how busy it was. The service for me was great. Alex was our server and he was great so friendly and helpful. Recommending different things and suggesting things also. Baffles me how anyone can rate this anything less than a 4 star. Never fails to amaze me how nice it is. The deli is amazing as well ideal to take some bits away. Got some vouchers for a family member as a gift. Can’t wait to come back

A bustling Italian restaurant, non-pretentious and reasonably priced! Good venue for catch up with friends and colleagues. A lively place but not a place for a quiet or romantic dinner 😀

My family (especially me) had a disappointing experience at Celinos, Partick. I ordered Pasta aglio e olio e peperoncino. When it arrived, it smelled delicious, however, the texture of the dish was awful. I do not like to feel that I am eating undercooked pasta. I was assured by the maitre de that it was because I am unused to eating correctly-cooked fresh pasta. He took away my plate and assured me he would ask the chef to “over-cook” a fresh portion for me! I assured him that this was “not my first aglio e olio”, but it was clearly my fault for being a Pleb! The dish came back again, with exactly the same texture, but with true Britishness, I said everything was fine. By the way, the delay between taking away and bringing back was a lot longer than I was expecting for the cooking of fresh pasta. When I was paying the bill, I explained to the waitress that I was only paying 10% because of the duff pasta dish (which I also paid for). With hindsight, I should have withheld the payment for the pasta and put the money onto the tip instead. The waitress assured me that they often have to return that dish because people aren’t expecting home-made pasta to be so firm. I suggested that perhaps the restaurant should consider cooking the dish a bit longer, to suit the British clients - to save all that messing about! Or to warn them beforehand. The waitress informed me, “This isn’t a British restaurant- it is an Italian restaurant!” Shocker! There are many, many Italian restaurants in Glasgow. We won’t be taking our under-educated palates to Celinos again. N.B. I was nice as ninepence through the whole ordeal - until the end bit, when I told the waitress that I thought her remark was cheeky!

Gorgeous food and delicious lattes in here...lovely modern restaurant we loved it here!

We've always visited Celinos whenever we've been on holiday in Glasgow but last night was the last time as this place has gone downhill. The food was nice but one of the dishes was served in a steel tray and not a plate or bowl which was not a great look and not very professional. We weren't aware of the specials menu as the staff never bothered to share this with us. We only found out about it after seeing another table being given the specials menu. Finally, the waiting staff are poor. Sloppy manners with a "I can't be bothered" attitude. It's a shame but this restaurant does need to improve and get back to what it was when we first started visiting.

Don't know it's asking about Dumbarton rd. .. or Alexander parade I'll post parade... food is always good.. try wed nights tapas bril... staff are excellent. ..

What a fabulous place. I visited their Partick restaurant with a large group of friends to celebrate a special birthday. The staff are excellent, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was just brilliant. My first but definitely not my last visit.
