Celino's Partick in Glasgow City

Lucky to have a good local Italian like this. The deli is fantastic, dangerous for my wallet, but really fantastic. The food is very good. I think the pastas are better than the pizzas personally. Staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is always buzzing.

Cannot tell about the food since we had to leave. I am sure the host of restaurant is expecting me to type this. I told him we were two adults and a child and he clearly saw my son's trike but somehow when we sat on table, he came and said that there were people waiting on the bar and we were 3 people not two and the other option was 5 seat table, so we had to leave. I do not understand why he showed us that table to start with because I clearly told him 2 adults and parked my son's trike with him. I am not gonna waste my time explaining what kind of restaurants I have been to in the past. It is just quite sad that they have not realized I was a very tired mom with a hungry child and their way of handling the situation was repulsive. I may also speak for the atmosphere, It is crammed with tables and very hard to move around. You cannot even get an extra chair for a child etc., which I thought they were going to do. I think they are extremely focused on money and therefore they are squeezing people into a tiny, crammed, badly ventilated restaurant. This is becoming more and more visible at West End I realized, maybe they started this trend. There are much better places at city center with tables not poking each other. Thanks to the American guy, who helped with opening the door and riding the trike to help me.

Food is fine, was better the first time I was here. But recently it was just average. Server(may have been a manager) was rude and moved our table as we had just settled. Grabbing our baby carrier to move it before even giving us a chance. We were seated and said we had a baby. Yet when we started to read menus he came over grabbed the car seat and said we can sit there. It was rude and not the way this should’ve been handled. The same guy also was walking around with a frown and was very unapproachable. Making it uncomfortable to even try raise any concerns.

The food is delicious, staffs are friendly and good service. Really enjoyed the dinner. Also, they have Vegan and GF food you can order and ready meals for take away. It is cheaper.

Place is always busy . Don't know why as don't find it as good as people say . Overrated & overpriced. I've been a few times i think i must be missing something but still disappointed 🤷‍♂️

One of the best cakes that I've tasted!! It's soft, creamy and not extremely sweet, which was the best part. The staff has always been amazing and helped to provide such a pleasant experience of visiting Celinos anytime! xx

Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff.

First time in it had the best breakfast ever coffee was also out standing 😋 hope to be back for lunch 😋

There have been a couple of times recently when I've been in here and felt a bit ripped off. The latest one of these was for breakfast last week. The breakfast comes with coffee or tea so when paying the bill it was a shock to see that both coffees had incurred an extra charge of a £1 as they were large, which we hadn't asked for. I also had a bad time when we got Celino's to cater for a party we were having. The contact beforehand was ok although all prompted by us; however, when it came to the event itself the delivery was delayed several times leaving us with loads of hungry guests. If you're getting them to cater for you also be aware that the portion descriptions are very generous - and I think that this is part of a deception so that the prices look reasonable when in fact it is insufficient for the number of guests you have coming. Also, i'm not sure it needs that much competence to schedule your deliveries so they get there at the promised time. Our guests were starving when the food arrived, cold, and not in the quantity the descriptions would have had you believe. Very disappointing and we won't be doing it again. Ps an odd phenomenon that when you post a negative review there are then several positive reviews that appear almost instantly?

💯 Lovely surroundings with amazing delicatessen - very enticing displays Had 2 meals with family & friends this week.. Yes nice place but the actual food didn’t entice me back.. but that was mb just my personal taste or food choices as the ppl I was with def did enjoy & will go back 1st meal meatballs was nice but didn’t blow me away. Only 2 choices of pasta with all pasta meals - penne or spaghetti which is ok but for an Italian restaurant would expect more i.e. tagliatelle/rigattoni etc . 2nd meal margarita pizza - ok but again didn’t blow me away I wouldn’t order either again despite beautiful presentation - sorry but both meals were kinda bland in taste … Ppl I was with thought their meals were top notch & yea a taste of the fillet of beef strips pasta was delish so I made wrong choices cos I didn’t find my meals super delicious … just ok Would still recommend a visit though —- had a choc eclair- again disappointed as too much chocolate on top & too little choux pastry but my friend loved her pavlova

This is a really busy and popular Italian with a wide variety of superb dishes and amazing desserts available. The portions are going to please even the most hungry customers. I have visited a number of times this establishment. It is very family friendly and a delight for anyone to visit.

Family Table for six, great atmosphere in clearly busy restaurant, short wait for table but looked after in bar area by attentive waiting staff. Order taken quickly and food served in good time and what excellent food, personally I had the pate to start (with exquisite caramelised red onion and one of the daily specials, Smoked salmon Tagliatelle, both delicious and very generous in portion, everyone in our group seemed equally pleased with their choices finished off with a superb dessert selection

Celinos is a great and authentic Italian restaurant. Everything I've tried has been perfect and the coffee is the best I've ever had.

We went for food last night in Celinos and it was amazing as always the atmosphere was great and the waiter Alex was top notch he was so friendly and funny and had great sense of humour made us feel welcome all night and kept making us laugh he is an asset to celinos was a great night with my girlfriend and my family celinos is my fav restaurant and will be back again soon

We were at celinos in Partick for dinner myself and my wife it was excellent we would like to say a big thank you to Lauren for everything I lost my ring in the restaurant my wife asked Lauren if anyone had handed it in but she found it under our table once again thank you so much

Fantastic night in Celinos with family. The food and service were both excellent, highly recommend the Arancini! Atmosphere was lovely relaxed and super friendly.

7 of us all had different dishes including gluten free, which the chef made a beautiful cheesy pasta, and vegan which was also a winner, we all had starters and can recommend the brushetta, you won't get this any better anywhere else and the minestrone soup was another winner, every main was excellent, my fave is penne arabiatta, the staff are so helpful with menu and there is a friendly waiter and a special mention to Lauren for taking a cracking family photo, perfect restaurant.

Good quality but steep prices and particularly unimpressed with the chips; £5.50 for barely half a box.

Despite it being a busy Sunday lunch time, we were seated quickly and staff were all really friendly. I had the filetto pasta which was lovely. Will definitely be back 😊

We were in for a birthday meal last week and had a lovely time. Food was fresh but served quickly and very tasty. But what made our day was how lovely our server Alex was. He was so fun and friendly and we will definitely be back to see him soon.

This is our favourite restaurant in Glasgow. The food is amazing, and the service is even better - especially from our waiter Alex!

When there are Italians bustling around the deli counter and serving with the unique passion that only they have, it's only a matter of time before, as we say in Glasgow " it kicks aff" Even whey they are just exchanging pleasantries it sounds as if an international incident is about to take place or has been narrowly avoided! After debating which wine I was given some excellent guidance from " the guy in the shirt" (that's what the server called him ha). He directed me to a primitivo from Puglia. Not cheap at £18 but you should expect to pay between £3-£5 more in restaurant -deli's. The gf pasta at £2.50 a packet again isn't cheap, but the Italian ones are so much better. As my God-daughter is coming for lunch (never a cheap experience!), I picked up some fresh tomatoes for bruscheta and a little mozzarella in case insalata caprese wins the primo debate. The gf pasta will be served in Celino's pesto. Pesto should be bright green when fresh. This doesn't look as vibrant, but still has enough green to suggest it's still a winner. A small Italian bread and some Italian sparkling water finished my order. If you are in and around the West End I recommend having a wee visit. You will not be disappointed

Was in last week for lunch for my daughters birthday, four of us had a perfect day, waiter who served us made our day, he was so attentive and funny, thanks for everything Alex 😊

I decided to have my birthday dinner here because I saw the restaurant had good reviews on Google Maps. It didn’t disappoint. My friend and I had a great time. Food and service were excellent. We both had the Mint Delight for dessert and it was absolutely a treat.

We have had some excellent food in our few days in Glasgow but this place had such a buzz. It was very busy and had a very convivial atmosphere. The staff were an absolute delight, more like actors contributing to your enjoyment. We had had a bad day but within seconds we both had big smiles on our faces. It was a pleasure to see such a wide variety of people having a really good time. The piped music was very appropriate and not too loud. We had a pizza which was good. We've had better to be honest but that was so unimportant. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. Next time we will make a reservation as we were very lucky to get a table. Simply outstanding.

Came here on a Sunday to catch the tail end of the breakfast menu. Food was great, service wasn’t bad and the atmosphere was decent. It was really busy but it still managed to feel quite intimate at the same time. It’s a popular destination and you can tell why

We order the Gamberoni and Branzino (the only Pescado option)and two glasses of wine. There were four prawns in the Gamberoni, the Branzino was just OK (though the waiter seemed annoyed I hadn't ordered the special version of it from the set menu) and the white wine was room temperature. At £77 for one main dish and one warm wine each (no sides/ dessert/ coffee), we felt sorely disappointed. Add to that the tinny music blasting overhead, the dismissive unsmiling staff, having to ask for water 3 times and being told to go to the bar while we waited for the table (there were 4 stools, all occupied and we were just in the way) it was an experience I wouldn't like to repeat, or to recommend. There are so many lovely places to eat in Partick with better food, better service and chilled wine.

Had lunch here. The coffee is good. The lunch is substantial with soup and ciabatta combo chosen by myself and dining companion. I can recommend the steak option with Maldini being ok. Chips or soup is the option to go with the sandwich.

First time & certainly won’t be the last . Family was well looked after , especially my 2yo daughter , who was kindly taken under the wing of your lovely waiter ( lady with glasses and light brown hair to go talk to staff and have some ice cream ) . Proper Italian experience from all other staff we encountered . Above all else the food was delicious.

The sandwiches are pretty much the best sandwiches I've ever had, and the staff are very professional and friendly in a very Italian way. I love it.

Have visited Celino's twice, ordering different things each time and can say that it's not as nice as folk make it out to be. It is very popular and place has been packed for dinner. They've managed to fit 2-seater tables in the middle of the aisle, so it's a tight squeeze with booths on both sides. Would suggest booking to avoid such seating as it's like being on an aisle seat on an airplane with everyone bumping past you. Their service staff were friendly, but due to how busy it is. They take your order, bring the food out and then they vanish. Tried their cocktails, which are overpriced for the quality, we've had better Italian restaurants that offer the cuisine and decent drinks. It's a good place to bring guests to as they have something for everyone, but if you're one for a nice pizza and decent pasta, this isn't it. Although, you can take the sting out of dining here and get 3x pasta dishes and garlic bread at their deli for a better dining experience at home. Probably will end up visiting again as it has something for everyone 🤷‍♀️.

Never going back there as I had a very unpleasant experience, I didn t know this was possible to happen in a restaurant. My mother is visiting so I took her to Celinos, when I placed the order I have asked: can I get this and that and when I finished the waiter told me- you have to say please! I was literally told by the waiter to say please to him, I was shocked to my core and it ruined my dinner really. He has also slammed the menus on the table. I can understand that people may have bad days but I work in customer service myself and I would never demand any of my customers to tell me please thank you or whatever, that would be beyond my imagination.

Been coming here for a couple of years now. It's a stop off point for my brother and I when we go one of our cycling routes. It's a bit pricey so only visit it for a treat. A cup of flat white coffee and a fruit tart are my go t. Yummy😋

Lovely food however staff are extremely rude and have no common decency. I was enjoying lunch day until my aunt sat her glass down gently and it completely shattered everywhere. Staff held a grudge acting as if it was her fault until around 10 minutes later the waitress picked another glass of vodka up and it shattered too. The waitress was apologetic however from spilling the glass she had got vodka all over my aunts jacket. Leaving it absolutely stinking of vodka. This was the same issue as when my aunt had sat her glass down except the waitress had got it all over her new jacket. Staff made it out as if it was fine for the waitress and didn't care about her jacket but blamed her for the spilling it on the table. Manager showed no sympathy and when asking for a discount due to the now ruined jacket he began to become aggressive. Banging on the till, raising his voice and swearing. Shocking coming from a highly rated restaurant and had a terrible experience. Definitely wouldn't go back due to the TERRIBLE customer service myself and my family received.

Ideally located, upon entering you have the choice of a full Italian deli, featuring sandwiches and take out pasta. Going forward we were met with friendly faces and taken to our table. Service was good and timely. The starter I had ordered the Bruschetta which was tasty and loaded with tomato’s on a garlic bread… The main, not Arrabbiata at all. Again service excellent, a good venue however the food just didn’t tick the box.

Had lunch here today, service was quick and friendly. Food was excellent, we both had filleto spaghetti which was delicious. Picked up take away coffees on the way out which were also great.

This place is one of the most amazing places I have ever been to, took my daughter here for her 21st birthday 🎂 and it's was a very special place to her as her god parents had taken her. The food was amazing and also the staff thank you so much 🇮🇹

Came with family. Nice setting. Few birthday celebrations whilst we where there. No Calamari left so selected Chicken starter which I found dry and uninspiring. Lasagne for main was delicious. No Fillet steak which was very disappointing so husband had pizza which again he found a bit dry. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable evening.

Ordering from the christmas menu, the spaghetti al funghi was tasty, but the mascarpone was to greasy. The Bransino provencal supposedly had sea bass but there was so little on the plate that could br finished on one bite. From the regular menu the filleto was good and with the right amount of seasoning. On overall would recommend the regular menu, since the special one seems to not have been very well thought

Usually love celinos but this visit wasnt great. Service was very slow. Ignored at one point and then told 2 minutes by someone else had to ask a 3rd team member. Food was ok but not as good as it usually is.

First visit and I loved it. Excellent food. Nice wine although a bit overpriced. Let's face it, the mark up on wine is criminal. Here for a Christmas night out. Not my favourite scenario. I'll return with a smaller group. And a bank loan!

Three deli you walk through to get to your table is magnificent. You then get served some of the best food I've ever had. I can't wait to go back

First visit and definitely will return. Atmosphere and staff great and delicious food and choices. The festive lunch menu 2 course was £25 each or you could do 3 courses but we had no room as big portions. My husband had a Christmas dinner which he said was lovely and I had the pasta. I would advise booking as very busy . We also loved the shop at front where you could buy the food and eat at home.

Food was really nice. Coffee was tasty. There was no Stornoway black pudding which was a let down. I went there with a friend after my wife won a breakfast for two 'giftcard'. We used this to set up our day after travelling from the east coast to go to SportsBikeShop and AMR bikes.

We had a wonderful experience at Celinos partick.. ..as always. Staff are great,full on family atmosphere. Food is freshly prepared with the best ingredients. If you like to cook yourself they have a full on delicatessen with fresh Italian cheeses meats breads and olives. I love this place. For me it is reserved for special occasions. Wonderful place to eat and socialise. Thank you Celino.

Great food, good portion sizes. Restaurant uncomfortably hot. Service a bit slower than I'd expect, even for a large group.

Had cadna and pizza and calzone and mac cheese and lasagna and it was all amazing we really enjoyed it and the staff where so nice.

Amazing delicatessen, filled with fresh home cooked chilled foods, cheeses, hams and patisseries. Staff are first class and cannot do enough to help. Great place for lunch, dinner and just a coffee. Also amazing hampers available. Located on the main street. Seating inside but recommend booking to avoid dissappointment. Well worth a visit.

Breakfast twice amazing the cakes looked insane don’t miss if you ate in Glasgow

Had the aglio olio and focaccia here the other week. The focaccia as soft and perfectly balanced with the olive oil while the aglio olio was cooked al dente. The service was also impeccable as the staff were very attentive. Will return here once more.

Waiter who has been there for ages was his usual, friendly, funny and professional self. Staff are great as is the cuisine.

I was really looking forward to this visit to Celino'sas it is some years since visiting the Dennistoun restaurant and it was great. The West End branch is much bigger and looks great but sadly the food and menu just wasn't for me and the menu was pricey. I didn't know what ham was going to be on the pizzas but it was too fatty for me. The staff didn't even notice the leftovers (or didn't care). Not my favourite restaurant experience.

i ordered the spaghetti bolognese, and it was delectable and pretty authentic. the warm ambiance matches the comfort the dishes provide. i just wish the staff noticed when we were signalling to pay the bill.

La comida encantadora, las cantidades generosas, tuvieron que seguir pidiendo bebidas - hay un delicado equilibrio para el personal de espera entre molestar demasiado a la gente y quedarse sin Pepsi! 😂. Hacía demasiado calor por dentro, así que realmente incómodo. Pero volveré. 👍🏼

Tres de nosotros visitamos Celino un viernes por la noche. Siempre es un restaurante ocupado, así que vale la pena reservar con antelación. Es bastante obvio por qué siempre está ocupado. La calidad de la comida y el servicio es fantástico. Uno de nosotros optó por el filete especial, que fue increíble! Excelente relación calidad-precio. Para ser honesto, nada de la comida podría estar mal. Y todos nos fuimos con la comida en cajas lo que da una idea de lo generosas que son las porciones. Fuimos bien atendidos por Steven y el resto del equipo. Hay un ambiente muy relajado y el personal siempre te hace sentir cómodo. Absolutamente de primera clase y muy recomendable.

Celino es uno de nuestros favoritos. Esta noche fuimos el servicio era excepcional y considerando que estaba ocupado sin reserva solo esperó 5 minutos. Mi hijo y yo conocimos a Alex por 1 vez en la calle esta noche 5 estrellas de servicio al cliente caballeros encantadores muy atentos y un crédito a la empresa. La comida era deliciosa y fresca. Recommended

Great place good staff worth visit

We were visiting from England, staying with family in Renfrew. Our son in law who was staying in Glasgow had been to Celinos for breakfast the day before & recommended it. So we booked for an early dinner on Sunday. It was brilliant, service was excellent as was the food and the restaurant had a really good ambience. We had a great time and will return next time we're over the boarder! 👏👍
