Cafe Zecchino in Glasgow City

When busy do not have enough drivers and food turns up to you cold. Only positive is if you are lucky enough to get it delivered to you quick and hot, the food is pretty good. However, I have waited over an hour on a few occasions and have ran out of patience. Not ordering again.

Great food from teh youngest member of a family who have been serving our community in Dennistoun for decades. Very reasonably priced give it a try , the selection and the product are splendid.

Sat in to enjoy some brunch at the weekend. Reasonably priced lunch time items and lots of choice. Within our group we had pancakes with bacon, chips and curry and toasties. Friendly service as always while sitting in.

Lunch time today. Ordered a steak mushrooms and onion panni. What I got was 3 extremely small slithers of beef a scattering of mushroom and onions all for £4.25 Noticing that of recent the portion sizes are getting smaller and smaller. Appreciate that food prices have gone up guys but your chef needs to be realistic with portion sizes

Both the takeaway and cafe side are great. Takeaway food is always prepared fresh by Pete the main fryer in store and always get service with a smile from Yvonne and Adamo.

I have been coming to this place for the last 9 years, the staff were always really friendly and welcoming, even the food was great. However I’d maybe say the last 2 years it’s went completely down hill. The food has went down hill, the staff are rude and have an attitude. We were in today ( I complained the last occasion we were there however I thought we’d give it another chance.) I asked for a full breakfast with brown toast, the rest of the table had their breakfast whilst I waited a further 20 minutes as they got my order wrong. I was ordering a breakfast however I don’t like black budding so I changed it to hash brown. The order came out after the whole table had finished with surprise surprise… no hash brown which I then had to wait again for. There was other customers shaking their head and the two womens attitudes. When we went up to pay the bill, I asked the waitresses if the owners had changed as the place has completely went down hill, she said no it was because of the staffing levels and if we had a problem to take it up with the boss. I have been coming for years and there’s always two servers, one was a man whom was lovely however the two that were on today where rude, had an attitude and clearly couldn’t handle the pressure of it being busy on a Sunday. ( I say busy there was 4 other tables in) the owner needs to do something about their staff! I will not be returning after giving it another chance as we all have bad however everything has gone down hill and it’s not even worth the money anymore. I wanted to go for a lovely breakfast and take our dad for his birthday and it ended up stressful. There’s much better places within the area I’d highly recommend. Avoid avoid avoid

Wow what can I say , promised myself last time I wouldn’t come back and I did because we have been coming here for years and never had any issues until the last couple of times we have visited but after this experience it’s 100% the last. Staff were so rude to customers, the attitude that came across was horrific. Customers wanted to order and the response was I’ve got a table to clean and other customers to get I will get you when I have a minute 😐 the customers were mortified and looked taking aback. They were turning away takeaways because they were run off their feet. Food quality has went down hill completely, staff can’t handle the pressure of service in here which then affects service and food quality. They take ages to take your order, half the time things are missing and then when asked for a juice it doesn’t arrive. Food all comes out at difference times to the point we had ate and my sister didn’t have hers. For years my family and I have been coming here and it will most certainly be the last which is ashame. I don’t know what’s happened to the place. The staff has changed (for the worse) the women had a terrible attitude, very cheeky and abrupt to the point you feel very uncomfortable and if it wasn’t for my dads birthday we would have left. The food quality is poor (on the last 2 occasions we’ve sent food back). All in all an amazing business has went downhill within the past 6 months. Unfortunately we won’t be returning. My sister and I are the last of our family that wanted to give zecchinos one last shot and unfortunately we won’t be returning. When we spoke to the two girls about the service and attidude they told us “ to go to the owner” so here you have it.

Staff are always friendly and talkative. My boy loves it and is happy when he gets what he asks for. Highly recommended to anyone that wants to stop off for a bite to eat.

Phoned for a homemade steak pie and chips which I have done a few times. But got this one after a hours wait and it came hardly any chips not a lot of stew and defo very dry and also cold. Phoned to complain manager had a attitude straight away and said he would swap it. As long as I didn't put pictures up. Then he said I was threatening him with putting pics up so told him to forget it. So don't phone and complain as he thinks you are threatening him .always phone he aswell. But never again also this cost nearly £15 for a steak pie super ?

Cafe Zecchino is a great place to visit, the food is delicious, the meal portions are a good size especially the fish.The staff are friendly,nothing is too much trouble for them. The dining area,the tables,cutlery was very clean in fact spotless. The prices are very reasonable and I would recommend this great restaurant to everyone .

Had a great visit, the fish and chips were great, not too greasy and brilliant portions. The ice cream is fantastic and great choice of flavours. Staff were all friendly and it was nice and clean. Highly recommend.

Been eating here for years and still regulars even though we moved 30 miles away recently. The full breakfast and the fish & chips are favourites. Top quality, well-cooked and really friendly staff. Fantastic value for money too. Best to book ahead at busy times.

The food from here is fresh & delicious. The tuna/mayo baguette with cheese and salad along with their fish suppers are my fav.

Without doubt the best fish and chips I've ever had. It had the lightest, tastiest batter and was fantastic. The strawberry tart was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. We'll certainly be back in the near future. Thankyou !

As it was my birthday and my parents prefer not to eat out these days, we decided on a takeaway lunch instead. My parents and I had the large fish and chips whilst my sister had the sausage supper. Cooked fresh while I waited which was worth the wait. All plates were cleared and given a unanimous thumbs up. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Excellent food service and ambiance

Staff were excellent and very friendly and lively. Talking to them was like talking to friends you have known for years. But the food was Kitchen Nightmare bad. The pasta had no taste whatsoever nor did any of the other dishes. The coffee was good but the food was stinking and the chairs were scratched and dirty and place filled with flies

Cafe Zecchino is an Italian/Scottish cafe next to Alexandra Park. It has a varied menu from filled rolls to fish and Chips, pizza and limited Pasta dishes. It is well run, the staff are efficient and pleasant. It is worth a visit.

A proper Italian fish & chip shop real chips, not frozen chips, good food made properly.

Through circumstances related to lockdown- we've had to rely on takeaway food much more often than we've ever done before I can honestly & sincerely say Cafe Zecchino has been an absolute godsend. The quality, freshness & excellence of their food has been consistently superb. They provide all the basics & more. All the items on their menu are fresh, well prepared & very tasty. We've normally collected before now, but tonight we had to arrange delivery. All items arrived piping hot & perfect as usual & earlier than promised. I've got no hesitation in recommending this establishment. They've obviously got this down to a fine art & hope they continue the good work. They really are doing a grand job.

So five stars for this local business. They have the ultimate in safety of covid. You order outside the cafe and pay. No customer enters the cafe takeaway. Only staff are inside. This is extremely reassuring in curving the spread of the virus. Very reasonable prices too and to my surprise free food when you order certain food...IE I ordered a 12 inch pizza and they gave me free bag of chips (potato chips). I pure needed them as I had just finished my work as a covid nurse. THANKYOU very much cafe zecchino your pizza and chips were delicious. Photos atrached but not of the pizza and chips as they were practically inhaled ...

Lovely breakfast, only down side was I asked to swap my tomato for mushroom, a like for like swap, I was charged for this as an extra even though I didnt get the tomato.

Went for lunch here....they serve breakfast until 4pm!! We chose from the lunch menu. Really nice food; the cafe is exceptionally clean; and the lovely girl serving us was friendly, polite, and helpful. And the price? This must be the best value cafe in Glasgow!! We'll be back.

As a chippie/cafe combo, both aspects are amazing. While shut during lockdown it has given the decor a touch up so it looks nicer than before. I often come here to write in the early afternoon and the vibe is perfect for me. Staff are really friendly and can read the room well.

Back yet again today for another lovely lunch - staff are extremely friendly and helpful - covid precautions in place. Simply the best fish and chips we have had ( and we love them fish and chips ! ) and lunch is a mere £6.95 for 1 course and £9.95 for 2 courses. Additional requests were met with no problem. Freshly prepared and nice quality tea and coffee along with your meal included. The accomodation is very much a cafe - not a more upmarket restarant- which is not to everyones liking with formica tables- but we come for the food and the service and we will defo be back again !

Ordered mince and potatoes,£8.95. Guy took £9.00,not complaining about 5p,however.served in a large aluminium container.inside was a plastic tub of clearly microwaved mince and 2 tablespoons of mash.would have been happy at £3.95 but I've just been ripped off.the chip shop side of this shop is good but bennys 100yards down the road is far superior.

Went 2 X Friday nights in a row. Excellent staff very friendly young man and women on last week and this week. Food fantastic big portion 😋 and great coffee. Well kitted out for social distancing. Well done zechinnis the two grandchildren said it was a 5 star restaurant 🤣
