Victory Inn in Rochford

I visited this pub for the first time with some friends to celebrate a friends surprise 70th birthday party. It was a great afternoon, the staff were excellent & the service was brilliant, considering this pub was extremely busy! I hope that in the future to visit this pub again.

Ordered rump steak for 4 of us, but then told only had sirloin, which was fine, however everyone’s steak was very fatty and full of grizzle. Customer service was awful, staff would rather lounge over the bar than check if everything was ok with our food, never cleared our plates or told us kitchen closed at 9, so wasn’t given the opportunity to order a dessert. There was prob a maximum of another 10 people in the bar, no excuse for bad service.

Dinner was lovely! Drinks were also quick and good value! Great staff and great atmosphere so lucky to have this pub! Love coming here every time

Visited on Saturday for beers & England Rugby game with friends. Wow… very busy & only 2 members of staff just like a normal day, Blonde Alison was an absolute trooper as witnessed her on her own! Saw many people leave, no fear of getting drunk in here! I would recommend checking beforehand the sporting diary before choosing this venue ! Such a shame as previous visits were great. The manager needs to address this or many more disappointed drinkers !!!

Alison is lovely and couldn't do enough to accommodate our large table at the last minute.

We booked a table on the 8th February for our Shanleys 10th birthday at 5.30 for 12 people just wanted to say Ali was fantastic from the start very welcoming the staff were great food was lovely would definitely recommend and will be returning soon thank you 👍🏻

We went for rock and roll bingo that DJ jack does last Friday we had a brilliant time, the atmosphere in the pub was great and it was packed great to see something different that no one else is doing in the area and to make it even better all the money goes to charity. It really makes a change and Jack did a fantastic job. Everyone was really enjoying themselves I’m looking forward to the next one already can’t wait to book will make this a regular thing so please keep it up well done Jack you did amazing.

Went for a meal at lunchtime for 4 people absolutely lovely clean pub . Excellent service very friendly and welcoming. Food was really nice and very reasonable. We will certainly be returning again. I highly recommend. Thanks for a lovely visit.

Thank you to Alison and Kevin and all the team, for making our family so welcome on Christmas Day. Our three course Christmas dinner was delicious. There is something for everyone at The Victory - a warm welcome, good food, entertainment nights and a sunny garden and play area. See you again soon.

Our first visit to the Victoria Inn and we really enjoyed the friendy service and the food. Salt & Pepper squid for starters was good and the Steak & Ale Pie excellent. Looking forward to going back again soon!

Was here for Christmas Dinner, which was passable. Parsnips weren't really cooked. I had an alcohol FREE gin and Sprite - £8.50! Extortionate price!!!!!!!!!!

A lovely family pub who make you feel welcome. We came here as a family for food whilst a football match was being shown (we hadn’t realised prior but glad we went). The staff were fantastic, they were extremely accommodating (my youngest has a rare syndrome) and despite being busy they ensured we had a seat, brought us over some ice cream for him, asked if they could do anything else for us with a smile. Also to note - all others in there were friendly and made us feel welcome with the atmosphere - they also have a play area and garden out the back which is great for children Highly recommend

Great staff, great atmosphere, great place all round to watch sports live. Always welcoming. They play every premier league game and rugby match. Drinks are reasonably priced. Look forward to the next visit!

We've lived round the corner from this pub for a long time but only recently started come back here. The new manager Allison has a done a great job in making a nice welcoming pub, the food is always great just sad they recently updated the menu and don't do my favorite burger any more. The staff are always polite, happy and pour a good pint.

Stopped here for a bite to eat and the food was brilliant with wide variety for everyone. Customer service was friendly and definitely recommend for anyone.

The lady that run the pub was very rude when trying to order and seemed like she had no patience. Wouldn’t come again for food, such a let down! Rolling her eyes to other people because we was ordering at 7:58, Seriously not impressed! Not approachable at all! Don’t recommend.

Owner was VERY rude when ordering. Everything is a big deal to her. She has no interest in helping people and dealing with orders.

I love the interiors and atmosphere, Friendly staff, food is above average, we did come here early afternoon but can imagine it will only improve with more customers later in there day, There is a garden which provides a well equipped play area, Really enjoyed our lunch and will come again

Had a wake here recently but in all honesty the food was ok.

Me and my partner came for dinner last night. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. However we have both been up all night with food poisoning.

I had my baby shower here a couple weeks back, Alison, kev and Millie were very helpful and accommodating and helped sort everything. I ordered a buffet for my guests food was top quality. Highly recommend will definitely be having more events here!

It’s a nice place with nice staff usually. However, over the years it has become less dog friendly. With people being forced to sit outside in the rain because they had a dog. There are now a few tables that dogs are allowed at but not many do it’s had when it’s busy

First time, going to the victory inn. I tried the katsu chicken. The presentation and the taste was amazing . Really good value. Samantha really looked after us. Amazing service.

Frosty greeting from barmaid. Good pint, but you can't really mess up a lager, although it was abundantly clear she couldn't pour Guinness. Luke warm food slow to arrive. Waitress Abby was nice and polite, Unbelievably expensive lime and soda.. so just had soda instead... £2.20 for a dash of lime cordial. Okish pub for a quick pint.

Good sized family pub with a garden area and decent food. Considering how busy it was, the wait times for food and drink were great! The car pack is very small, so you'll probably need to park elsewhere if you're driving but if you're within walking distance it's a great little local! I'm new the to area and will definitely be going back :)

Excellent Katsu curry again which is our favourite when I visit with mum. The service was extra special this lunchtime as we were served by Sonyia who has an amazing personality. I wish all pubs I visit had a Sonyia working for them. Well done...

Fantastic service today. Minor hiccup with the chef walking out 🤦🏻‍♀️ but all the staff handled it very well. Food was fantastic. Highly recommend the chicken bacon and avocado ciabatta. Lots of happy children in the garden. Can not fault one bit.

Love the area for taking dogs whilst you eat, beware what football matches are on as can get noisy with the large sports TV on. Really helpful staff.

Dreadful experience. Hours after the football had finished a mob was still chanting abusive and anti-Semitic songs. I was told that the main protagonist actually worked there. Awful pub.

We went in for a family pub lunch today. On ordering our food, there were no fish & chips or lasagne. Twenty minutes after ordering it, we were advised there was no gammon either! The food arrived after an hour; three of us had pie, three had scampi. It was decent pub food other than the veg….all they had left were mushy peas and some awful carrots. The long wait rather spoiled things for our 95 year old mum. The pub wasn’t particularly busy and we felt sorry for the bartender who was obvious doing her best. We received a cursory apology from someone as she sped past our table!

My second visit in the past week, great stop for a drink and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. If you're passing do pop in, friendly crowd.

Had a reserved area for a friends birthday who is a local in the pub . Karaoke evening , very busy ,friendly people ,staff were exceptional. Would return in a heartbeat 👍👍👍👍

Went here for the first time for karaoke. Had a fab night. Great atmosphere and great locals. We found the place very welcoming. We will definately be returning to try the food next time.

Lovley place nice food and good atmosphere

Terrible experience, we stopped in for what we expected to be a quick pint and pub grub to kill 45 minutes whole we were running errands. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive, then a further 20 minutes before they acknowledged we hadn't had our food, it then took them another 30 minutes to actually get us our food. Needless to say, we were not happy. Staff simply shrugged it off and said they forgot to check the app for orders. Really poor attitude and not even an apology.

Atmosphere is spiffing, the staff make the experience stupendous, would recommend this establishment

Went on Friday for a meal. The meal itself was really good but unfortunately was put off by the amount of food flies and the amount of mould on the windows as someone who has asthma I was finding it hard to breathe and the toilets were no better. Been going here for many years now it’s a shame this spoiled it.

I've lived literally round the corner from this pub for a little over 12 years and I've never seen the pub so busy or enjoyed being in there as much as I do now. The current owners clearly know what to do and are lovely...

My friend and I visited The Victory in Ashingdon on Friday 18th November to see Aaron Kelly. The pub was well decorated for the World Cup with flags etc and Christmas Trees. The staff and customers were all really friendly, in fact, the landlady even had a boogie. Aaron Kelly was excellent too. We will be back and I would thoroughly recommend this venue.

Allison the new manager is absolute top draw, aswell as abby absolutely quality service serving up the double vodka cokes and cleaning up any spillages that may occur, 10/10 service would highly recommend, banging pub . lewis the chef chefing up top draw meals
