Really great pub, I don't go to Rayleigh loads these days but whenever I do I'll be back here. Great selection of beer, really fantastic, if you can't find a pint you like here, then your taste in beer is the problem. Staff are friendly and helpful, lovely heated outdoor area which made sitting outside on a February evening very pleasant and nearly warm enough

I recently visited The Pry for lunch with my daughter, a friend, and her little one, and we had a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, and the kids absolutely loved their sundaes. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service from the staff. They were incredibly welcoming and made a real effort to engage with our children, ensuring that their experience was just as enjoyable as ours. The pub also has a lovely little park in the garden, which would be perfect for summer outings. When we asked for a glass of wine, Alice recommended the perfect choice based on our tastes. We would highly recommend The Pry for families, and we’ll definitely be back!

Incredible. Came with 3 others for a bottomless brunch. Luke, the manager who looked after us, was amazing. So attentive, friendly and hospitable. Genuinely couldn’t have asked for more, still amazed by how attentive and friendly he was. Spoke to us throughout the experience and really elevated our brunch. I, and we, will come back purely to experience the service Luke delivered again. Cannot recommend highly enough

Me and my girlfriend came for dinner on Valentine’s Day, steak was excellent, and cheaper than miller and carte. The live signer was also very good. will come back again

Visited, for the first time, on 25/1 for the Bottomless Brunch with 3 friends. Food was plentiful & drinks flowed perfectly! Service was brilliant! Will definitely be visiting again.

We meet with friends every weekend for a dog walk and a catch up. It's alway hard for us to find somewhere that are dog friendly and serve a nice breakfast after a long walk, but The Paul pry is the place. We have 3 Spinones which are not small dogs and a yorkie and nothing is a problem. Friendly always welcoming especially to the dogs the breakfast is a the nicest we have had anywhere. Would recommend this to anyone. See you next sunday

Came in on the 4/1/25. Brilliant. Made to feel very welcome, even with our dog, who was promptly given a drink. Good food, great atmosphere. The football was on, wasn't my interest but in that environment I still felt very at home. Thank you to the staff and the lovely gentleman behind the bar.

We had Christmas dinner at the pub, the booking , paying and ordering through the year was easy and efficient. On the day we had a lovely table in a relaxed atmosphere. The service and food were great and hosted by great staff.

Visited for Steak Thursday meal. Food very good, excellent value. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Good choice of real ales and wine. We would recommend to anyone.

I had my 21st birthday party there and it was the best night! We had a buffet and it was huge and delicious. Great range of sandwiches and other picky bits. Staff were brilliant as usual. It was very busy but that's to be expected at a popular pub on a Saturday night and it's nothing the staff can't handle. We were able to decorate the area too and the staff were more than willing to help. Great music and kareoke from the DJ too. Everyone really enjoyed the night. Would highly recommend having your events/celebrations at the pry.

A really friendly pub, great services c and the food was excellent. Compared to The Bull in Hockley that is Chrf and brewer aka Greene King. The Paul Pry exceeds it by millions and puts the Bull to shame.

Welcomed on arrival with the pooch. Politely told where we can sit. Food service quick and friendly and checked we were ok. Good was fab for the money. Brought dog water without asking. The team are obviously looked after by the attentive manager.

CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH Really nicely festively decorated pub. The table was really well done as well. Our dinners were 1 x soup …. Lovely, hot & tasty. 1 x terrine…Very tasty 1 x Smoked Salmon, really nice 1 x Cheese Soufflé, gorgeous. 3 x Turkey… loads, hot, tasty & well cooked 1 x Steak … Very nice. Could have been a wee bit more cooked but very tasty. 3 x Christmas Pud…..Very tasty 1 Cherry Bomb …………Gorgeous Great service. Great price. Many thanks to all the staff for working over Christmas 🎄

I went with friends for the pre ordered Christmas menu, and it was not good at all. The service was acceptable. The starters of chicken strips were ok, and a prawn cocktail which was tiny. The main courses were really not good. The traditional Christmas dinner turkey was like boil in the bag meat and the potatoes were grey and white! The burger was stone cold and had to be returned, when it came back it was ok. The chicken and ham pie was not very nice and tasted very smoked, the broccoli was way overcooked and mushy, the chips were ok. The desserts were nice. We did voice our opinions about the food and the management deducted two of the main courses from the bill, which was a gesture of good faith. However, we would have preferred to have decent food and pay the full price!

One of the unusual aspects of this pub/restaurant is that it seems to cater for a wide clientele, the sports showing large TV end , the discrete garden pods for groups and families, the indoor/outdoor seating areas etc. Wide range of dishes and great Sunday roasts at good prices maje this a regular venue for us.

Mostly good, however the Hunter's Chicken from the Senior Menu was very disappointing. Visited again. Nice place great value food. Been several times recently and always good

A large Christmas meal was organised here and everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff couldn’t have been any better, all staff were attentive, professional and nothing was too much trouble. The venue was decorated beautifully making our meal that extra special. Lovely little pub. Clearly well thought of in the area as it was busy even though it was 15.45. Food was good. Only slight criticism was the broccoli was over cooked. Still a very enjoyable visit.

This is our local pub and we have visited frequently for a Sunday roast. It never disappoints, especially today. The beef was lovely and everything else was delicious, we will be back next week!

I use to knock about in this pub in my younger years with all mates, beautiful memories were made in the beer garden and every Friday & Saturday evening. Skip 20 years and I popped back with my husband for a chilled Saturday afternoon drink, he was happy the football was on and I reminisced with a glass of red. Bar staff are super friendly and Luke could even pass as a sommelier. Great atmosphere, family friendly , I just wish I had the kids to hang out in the wonderful garden! Thanks guys!!

For many years have I Passed this pub on visits to Rayleigh and always wondered if it was any good. Today we popped in for a spot of Lunch and was so not disappointed! It’s not just about the food or the beverage, nor the price and not even the service which was exceptional btw. But it’s about the experience, and what stood out for me was the experience started the very second the front door swung open, greeted by excellent well informed staff we were shown some excellent service, informed of all what’s available, guided to the best deals and promotions, welcomed into a warm friendly atmosphere, was aloud to bring our cockerpoo in (who was instantly given treats and water) food was unbelievably priced and exceptional quality for that price! Yes there were promotions on which we took full advantage of but having perused the main menu you are always gonna get a great deal here. This sublime first class treatment carried on till the moment we left and carried onward with our day. We only popped in for a quick bite to eat……Wow 🤩. Will be back and probably found a new favourite spot morning noon or night! Well done Guys

Lovely pub felt cosy, and warm like a proper country pub & nicely decorated, menu had a good selection of reasonable priced yum food . They even put together a full plate of dinner for my dog which included a whole chicken breast, loads of veg & new potatoes at £5.50 it was a nice little treat for my dog Hugo. On arrival I spoke with Luke who was extremely kind & helpful making my whole visit super friendly and welcoming. This is the vibe you want from a pub thankyou Paul Pry 👌🏼.

Love this pub in Rayleigh. Good food and great value. Seniors menu perfect for smaller appetites. Excellent hospitality always a warm welcome for our group of Ladles who Lunch.

We went here for a Sunday lunch today and it was excellent. The beef was really tender and the turkey the same. The vegetables and potatoes etc were great too, you can never have enough roast potatoes. We are very lucky to have this as our local.

Best service from luke. he was so friendly and made the brunch experience seamless and always made sure we had a full glass!

Used to be the best pub in Rayleigh this but they kicked all the youngsters out of Benfleet and thundersley for drug use and they all go here now ,on weekends , full of 20 something cokeheads , who Q up for cubicles to have a blast real shame , tine to find a new regular Sorry guys but someone had to say it ! Maybe I’m just old I dunno , not my bag especially if I’m paying £6 a pint 🍺

I came here for a mates 21st I was served with excellent customer service by a bartender called Alex her was so friendly and pulled the best pint of fosters.

Really nice pub with plenty of seating both inside and out. A Greene King so good and drink can be ordered via app and delivered to your table. Food was a little sub par but was a very busy night so will put it down to an over worked kitchen. Would recommend

Came to dinner on a Monday evening with my Daughter. The pub was fairly busy for a Monday night and the atmosphere was happy and friendly. The bar staff are very polite and friendly. My daughter had the beef and ale pie which was lovely but the star of the evening was the “Burger of the month” the all american burger. It was absolutely delicious. the sort of burger you would get at a great burger pop up.. much better than five guys. Would come back for the burger alone. Thank you to the lovely waiter that looked after us. Didn't catch his name but he was working the lower bar and couldn't do enough for us. Lovely evening, thank you

I visited yesterday and my eye was taken to the Seniors menu. Three courses for £7.99! I had soup of the day, tomato and red pepper. Bangers Mash and peas and finished with chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream. The portions were adequate and the quality good. This is amazing value for money. The pub is comfortable and friendly and yesterday Billy ‘The bar’ was running operations guiding like minded diners through their options. Not Michelin starred but very good value. Oh! I forgot to say the Green King IPA deserved a CAMRA accolade.
