The Cherry Tree in Rochford

Nice family pub with great ambiance. We had Sunday lunch but the full menu was available. Food was well presented and portions were large. Staff were professional and very attentive. I will definitely go back if I'm in Rochford.

I had a great experience at the Cherry Tree the other day, wonderful customer service from our server Macey. Will definitely be back!

We were in the Rochford area and on a whim booked The Cherry Tree for a spontanious birthday dinner, not knowing what to expect. It was a very enjoyable night. The food and service was spot on. The restaurant was very clean and modern and great vibe. We ended up joing the quiz night and really enjoyed the experience. Definitly coming back soon.

We visited the Cherry Tree again yesterday and couldn’t fault anything. A lovely welcome, an unexpected meeting with old friends and a warm welcome. The food was delicious, wines were of a good quality and the service was excellent. We had a lovely time. We’ll definitely be visiting more regularly from now on.

My friend and I have been here four times now and three of those were without booking. We were always found a nice table and the service was prompt. The staff are always friendly and the main waitress always remembers our drinks order. The food is excellent and we had a large sunday lunch with a perfectly cooked yorkshire pud. We will be coming back!

Great place, very friendly staff

Awful microwaved food with terrible service. The female staff could do with longer skirts, no one wants to see everything when they’re trying to eat, and the manager has a stinking attitude. The language coming from him behind the bar was very vulgar and off putting. Our chips were cold and our burger chewy. The place is nice enough but the staff need training.

Our first time visiting the Cherry Tree and we would definitely recommend it. Gorgeous interior and exterior, lovely customer service and the food was delicious. Will definitely be going back.

Decent rooms attached to a private pub / restaurant. There is plenty of free parking. Arrived late and did not eat here as open midday to 11pm.

Yep seems odd giving 5 stars for poor quality steaks which was probably due to the supplier not the chef but in some cases it's more about how you resolve the problem. In this case the young lady who dealt with us gave us excellent customer service and complete satisfaction. I hope she gets the opportunity to read this as from probably not going back we now definitely will. Well done her. We were four elderly silver tops but have never been served brandy with ice as a company policy and should be a customer option. As a blue badge holder only one designated bay in the car park which happened to be the furthest away from the entrance! Funny really but not busy so was able to park close to the action.

Stayed 1night at the Cherry Tree. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. Lovely pub with period features and open fire. Rural location and dog friendly. The only issue we felt let it down was our room which felt very dark and cold. We had to keep the heating on and the huge wet room wasn't very nice to shower in as freezing. There was, also no door handle to be able to pull the room door close when leaving?!

Came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Was rung on the way at 6.00 to say no roasts would be available. Ok. Menu was quite limited due to this. The restaurant was pretty much empty. Maybe this is why the roasts had stopped. Had the mixed platter. Nice but the nachos were impossible to split four ways and sadly very small portion. Mains. Fish chips not great. Burger was voted nice. Two pies were pretty awful undercooked pastry. Very sad looking cabbage and two pieces of a carrot. Dessert was ok but before we’d ordered these we were informed they were closing the coffee machine so if we wanted coffee to order now. We made the most of it as didn’t want to spoil a special day but sadly was nothing like we’ve experienced before. The food used to be great. The waitress was lovely however. Might try again 🤷‍♀️

I lam a big fan of steak frites and I saw it was new on your menu. What a disappointment, it bore no resemblance to the real thing, or even how it was described on the menu

I was so impressed with the customer service as the next table were not happy with their meal and so the staff replaced it with something else with no extra charge plus a free bottle of wine. All I can say is this has to be 5 star customer service as I work in customer service and was so impressed with the way quickly dealt with the issue. I would recommend going to The Cherry Tree every time.

Food was incredible! Rooms were lovely, simple but very comfy. Bedroom door wouldn't lock. One or two members of staff were rude and unfriendly. Felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome on the day they were working.

A wake was arranged following the funeral of a family member. The staff were brilliant and everything went very smoothly. There was no pressure for us to leave after the buffet. Food was tasty and staff left the food for us well into early evening. Even chased up the taxi company for us. Overall a good experience.

Went for a belated Mother's Day meal. 2 beef roast dinners were cold along with side if cauliflower cheese, returned to kitchen. Beef was also tough. 1 roast port, disappointed with not getting crackling. Had to asked for horseradish and apple sauce which should be offered as standard or even provided without having to be asked. Only saving grace was a decent Malbec, but at £10 a glass it's a bit pricey. Sadly will not be going back

Each time I go I feel like we are very well looked after .. mum is wheelchair bound and they look after us opening doors if need be and always seated at an accessible table (not in the way of other diners)... the disabled toilet is very clean and large ... The staff are amazing and very friendly The food is lovely and caters for my small plate needs too ... Many thanks all look forward to coming again soon Jo x

Very disappointed in my roast dinner. Very small portions on a large plate. The two small slices of beef were dry & chewy, the potatoes were anaemic looking. Husband had the pie which also was small. Feel the food is overpriced for what you get.

A birthday meal celebration for a family member. We basically had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Good service, happy and friendly. Good food, too. A wonderful, cozy environment with a separate place with high backed leather chairs and open fire. So nice to go out and not have to listen to a TV blaring out football games.

Booked table online but refused the requested time slot by phone call so agreed a later time. On arrival, very disappointed to see half empty restaurant so confused at why refused an earlier time slot. Overall staff were good and meal was good. Restaurant felt cold so wear a jumper.

We had food and drinks at the Cherry Tree last night for the first time and took part in the quiz too, all was really good and enjoyable, 2 members of the team there as well were great and looked after us, we will certainly be back.

Lovely pub. Nice friendly attentive staff. Gluten free fish and chips was lovely. Hunters chicken also fine. Roast beef was inedible. Mine wasn’t the only one as another couple sent theirs back. Fantastic place to go near Rochford. Isn’t easily accessible without a car due to the roads. However very lovely food, large and spacious, disabled access, dog friendly. Public garden which has loads of seating and is lovely in the better weather. Great selection of well made and delicious food and the staff where lovely.

disappointed with this visit where we had on previous occasions enjoyed pie and steak meals on numerous days. This time brought friends from afar to enjoy a meal with us after singing the establishments prtaises for good food and portions. As for the home of pies I feel this no longer holdsthe title.Small portions small pies and all hard thick pastry little meat. All the wonderful desert cakes have gone. Love place and staff but food is an overpriced let down. Will not rush back if at all? Not recommending this anymore. Cost cutting to the point of lost business. An embarassment to us for recommending this to our friends.

Never again will I lay eyes on this sorry excuse of a restaurant. It is banned from my list and so it should be from anyone´s. The service is the sort that one would expect from a fast food chain, but without its speed and simplicity. The waitresses (all females) were more concerned about how they looked rather than who to look. It seemed like a competition and the one to have the greatest attitude attending a table was the winner. Very poor experience.

Quick visit with my wife as was in the area. I had fish and chips which was a lovely piece of haddock, with chips and mushy peas. My wife had a chicken caesaer salad which she enjoyed. Halloumi fries made a nice starter. Very nice pub and toilets also spotlessy clean. Nice ambience. although I am around 10 miles away will try and come back as very enjoyable experience.

4 of us went for a late lunch. Service was excellent, and the food very good. This was our second time eating there. We will definitely be going back again.

We were celebrating 2 family birthdays, both special birthdays. The Manager and staff were excellent. Couldn't do enough for us. Their help with the cakes and balloons made it the special occasion we wanted. Food was great, selection excellent and great value for money. The Service, like I say was excellent, helpful, friendly and always ready to see to our needs. I have been several times before and its always good. The restaurant is clean, spacious and comfortable. Thank you all!!

Great food,great service,nice and friendly staff

We stumbled upon this lovely place last week. Its absolutely stunning inside, the decoration and accessories give it a really lovely feel. It's was very clean as well. We were so happy about finding a new place as we have moved down from Suffolk. The service was excellent but unfortunately, the food didn't hit the mark for us. We both had the hunters chicken, the portions were a bit small (compared to price and other pubs) and rather dry. My husband had chios, so added ketchup, but I had mash and I needed to drink to help swallow it. There are not really many slightly healthier choices, but on the whole, a lovely place, we were gutted as its lovely.

We went to the cherry tree today for the first time and had a Sunday roast. The staff was so friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. The setting was nicely decorated with a good atmosphere. Food was lovely, service was 5 star and fairly priced. We will definitely be returning.

Very nice staff Good fish and chips Hunters chicken tho way too small

Took my partner and mum here for Sunday lunch and it was a massive disappointment to say the least....I had the chicken liver patè to start the presentation wasn't very inviting and there wasn't enough bread for the amount of patè served my partner had the chicken skewers with where cooked very well and tasted amazing but again the presentation was lacking. for the mains my mum and partner had the roast beef and I had the belly pork. when the dinners arrived it was evident that the beef was very over cooked as it was grey, the potatoes on all dinners where very undercooked, solid and inedible the other veg on the plate was tasteless and again hard. my belly pori did not have any crisp to it as expected and after the first mouthful I realised that I was served a lump of fat, there was no meat on my belly pork at all. when we managed to flag 8ver a member of staff the waitress was t really bothered about our disappointment with the dinners and just took the mains away. After a brief chat with the manager in the kitchen she returned, apologiesed and asked if we wanted anything else, again I feel she didn't really care we declined and just asked for the bill. Needless to say that the dinners where taken off the bill and our Sunday lunch ruined, we left extremely disappointed and hungry. It was such a shame as I had been there for lunch before and it was amazing so I had high hopes for the Sunday lunch there.

We attended a wedding reception at this venue yesterday 12th August, wow what a place. The food supplied by the ever attendant staff was just amazing, including delicious vegan/vegetarian options. Jamie could not have been more helpful, from the time we arrived in the morning...

Visited today for a family lunch, which of course included two of our dogs. Staff were attentive and helpful. Food was delicious, very good sized portions and well presented. Our dogs were offered treats and water too ☺️ Will definitely return very soon. Thank you 😊

Heard new owners were better than the old so we gave it a try. Very satisfied. Staff were excellent, good selection on the menu with a good option of smaller portions, food nicely cooked and very tasty.

We thought we would go for the two meals for £16, Monday to Wednesday. Trouble is, this is actually restricted - to a board that they could not provide, but could tell us that there was no fish and chips, no scampi, no sea bass,...

We called in on the off chance and invited to select any table of our choice. The waitress was extremely friendly and we selected two light meals which were served very quickly and both were excellent. I chose a Nelson beer to accompany my meal...
