Miller & Carter in Rochford

As soon as we arrived Kira made us feel very welcome. The food and service were excellent. I was very happy to receive complimentary prosecco for myself and guests with my voucher from the app. It was a very good evening I can't wait to return again.

Staff very nice and polite Restaurant & Toilets are very clean Presentation of food looked very nice Food was very tasty. Overall a very good experience Have been a few times now and will be going again in Dec. Would strongly recommend to Family, Friends, and anyone looking for a nice restaurant with good food at a reasonable price.

Entered looking forward to a 10/10 Sunday meal. Friendly staff on entering, seated quickly. Food portions definitely reduced, medium steak cooked rare with tiny serving of sauces. 2 Children on near by tables had their heads in their phones playing on full blast sound as did the 2 adults with them we just found it rude & loud. Another table near by allowed the children to cart wheel around the tables for 10 minutes which we found totally unacceptable! Could not relax. Looking around us upstairs people in tracksuits & sports wear surrounded us?Really for £140 meal & we felt like we was at the local harvester not a Miller & Carter (I wish staff would tell customers to control their feral offspring in restaurants) Gone down hill would not recommend. No goodbye when we left as the staff ignored an one leaving. We will be going else where from now on. A sad 3/10

We had a table booked on the 19th for lunch and had a lovely greeting at the door and was shown to our table. The waitress was also attentive and polite. We normally go for the chateaubriand to share which is always excellent but decided to give the set menu ago for a change. The tomahawk pork was really nice and cooked to perfection. The restaurant could have been a bit warmer but other than that an enjoyable meal.

Beautiful food. Butchers Block was amazing. Plus all the side orders were cooked to perfection.

Our server Natalie was very attentive and good was of a good standard.

We had a lovely family meal, served by Natalie who was very attentive and friendly. We were pleased with how accessible it was for my wife in her wheelchair. We will definitely be returning.

Seven went for lunch on a Saturday. Surprised it was not very busy. Food and service ok. Fish & Chips were delicious. Very large car park.

Prices are a little eye watering and at those prices, I don't expect my steak to. have so much gristle. On advising the waitress, there was no acknowledgement from the manager or any attempt to compensate. We attended as a group of 4 on Wednesday evening (2/10) at 7:30

Food was absolutely amazing! Reasonably priced and fantastic waitress/waiters. I would like to note that online it states casual/smart dress code however I do not know how strict they are with that. highly recommend the sharing platters, there was so much meat that my 6ft2 boyfriend was stuffed… haha… deserts were brilliant and flavourful. The mock tails were spot on too.

Julie served us and was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent.

We went to M&C Rayleigh last night for my sons 17th birthday. It is a restaurant we have used many times in the past for special celebrations and has always been very good. This time we were very disappointed. We arrived slightly early for our table and were asked to sit in the bar while we waited. Once the table was ready we were seated and provided with some menus. After 10/15 minutes the waitress came back to take our order. Unfortunately, both the main choices for my son and daughter were not available. We were not informed that there were items unavailable when we were seated. The waitress apologised and stated that it had been a very busy weekend! This was early (7.45pm) on a Tuesday evening - surely enough time to restock menu items. As there were no other suitable alternatives on the menu, we left and went elsewhere. Very disappointing and wont be returning.

Slightly disappointing the last time I went but usually it is a very good meal out. I think they were slightly busier than usually so weren't as attentive and the standard had dropped slightly. I will give it another go though!

Excellent waitress poor quality steak.have never had steak this bad before. The only difference between Millar and Carter and the run of the mill pub chains is the higher prices.

Been here few times over the years always had a great & enjoyable meal here, not the cheapest of places then again food & quality & portion size are good ! Friendly workers & service too. Definitely going to plan a next visit !

The steaks are never cooked to how we ask. We even asked for them to be cooked medium because we wanted medium rare and our steaks were rare still in places. They weren't cooked evenly. We couldn't finish them and this happened last time as well.

The veggie option was lacking on taste and expensive for what it was. Disappointing. Holly, however, was brilliant.

Had lunch and had a mixture of the lunch menu items and normal menu.. Both are great value, especially the lunch menu. None alcoholic cocktails are lovely. Food was on point nothing disappointed. Definitely somewhere to check out if you've done so already and somewhere to come on a regular basis... Can't beat good food served well.

Absolutely lovely service by Natalie. She was super friendly and checked on us throughout. My steak was overcooked to start with but she happily replaced it with no qualms or queries which was much appreciated. Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere :) Will definitely come again !

I have never had a bad steak at Miller & Carter, Rayleigh. The staff have always been lovely, friendly and really attentive - no matter how busy they are.

We came here for my boys 13th birthday meal.I havent been to a Miller and Carter before so didnt know what to expect.Loved the interior,also very comfortable seating and pleasing to the eye inside.Chloe our waitress{was new here because she told us} was very helpful in telling us how it worked there,i.e,picking the cuts of steak,sauces,etc.Had the sharing garlic bread and halloumi fries for starters,all very nice.Me and my boy had the steak,really nice,and my wife had the ribs,she said they was gorgeous.Chloe brought out a surprise birthday dessert for my boy,ice cream and strawberrys ,with chocolate sauce on the slate spelling Happy birthday.Next time we come,in a couple of weeks,ill have the steak cooked Medium because im still a newbie when it comes to steak and dont really know how i want it cooked

My husband pronounced the beer wrong so the waitress took it upon herself to correct him, totally unnecessary and unpleasant of her. My steak was the worst I’ve ever had and it was supposed to be the best of its kind, tough and gristly, we also requested no steak sauce but she brought t anyway saying we would love it everyone does. We didn’t want sauce, so why force it upon us? I did complain but just got a shrug. Won’t be returning any time soon

Went there for lunch did the 3courses for £19.50 had mushrooms in a cheese sause then the signature steak sandwich and finally profitter rolls my fiance had the pork tommahawk and friend had the salmon all dishes were extremly tasty excellent value

Lovely food & great friendly service. Very impressed with the steaks. Pricey but you get what you pay for. The outside of the restaurant really lets it down though. Very tired looking. Despite that, I’ll definitely be going back :-)

Planned and booked lunch catch up at M&C . Eaten previously and am never over whelmed but this time was the worst of all, its very likely we wont return. Times are difficult for all since covid & brexit, we all get that, which is why if im paying out my hard earned money on a spot of lunch, i'd like to enjoy it and i'd like to get what i pay for. The restaurant was so cold, we sat with our coats on for about the first hour of our visit. The service was basic & unfriendly and the food was so dry and overcooked, it was awful. Of course we complained, they offered our deserts free. We agreed as we were still hungry obviously, paid and left. Photos added, hope by now they have a better chef. We wont be trying them out though. The drinks were ok, nice red wine.

Miller & Carter is our automatic choice for steak in the area. The service is absolutely first class and nothing is too much trouble for the professional servers. The steak is very good and there is a good selection of non-steak foods including vegetarian options as well.
