Friendly service, great selection of food and drinks too! We went for a drink and some lunch last weekend, with hope to watch the football. They have screens everywhere, it’s fantastic! I certainly recommend!

Ordered prawn cocktail which was lovely. Then a side salad which was exceptionally good with rocket, cucumber, tomato, peppers, beetroot. The garlic bread and the chips were tasty but both needed a bit more cooking to make them even better. All served on paper plates with foil. Recommended.

Best beef stew and dumplings ive had in a long time

driver turned up and basically chucked a bag of food at me and when I got it up to my room had a bag full off meat and gravy pouring all over they'd put it on like a kids paper plate.food was not very tasty and wasn't a lot there for nearly £20 for stu and dumplings I'd give this place a miss if I was you.

beef was very dry and old ,yorkshire was severely undercooked. 2 mouthfuls of crumble per portion? really?. won't be ordering from here again..

First time ordering here. Ordered 2 roast dinners (chicken and beef ones). Plenty of meat, potatoes with veg mash, carrots and cabbage. Lovely gravy. Really tasty. Delivered on time on paper platters/plates. Recommended.

Spent Christmas day here with the family. Atmosphere was lovely and warm, food was great and really good value. They took all the hassle away and was just as special as being at home (especially being in front of a log fire!).

I’ve never had a bad meal from the Exhibition Inn. The food is always fresh and cooked with high quality ingredients. I’ve pretty much tried most of the menu now, barring the steaks. Delivery is always prompt and customer service is consistently excellent. If you are fancying a traditional pub grub, give this place a go!

I have to say I thought it was my delivery at the door, so surprised it was so early but so appreciated as I was starving but forgot to give a tip, sorry I can honestly say it was the best roast I've had delivered. The roasts from the exhibition are normally lovely but very disappointed today the roast potatoes were rock hard, over cooked couldn't even put a knife through them, portions weren't as big either

Went on a Sunday afternoon, chose the Sunday roast, was disappointed with the roast potatoes and vegetables, felt like they had been cooked and kept warm. Have been previously, and meal has been spot on. Hope this was just a blip...

Saturday lunch time. My friend had a cheese ploughman’s and I had a bacon and mushroom omelette with peas and chunky chips. We both loved our choices and weren’t disappointed. It was as described, nothing fancy, exactly as expected from the description. Would definitely recommend and will return ourselves.

After spending money on few drinks and meal was humiliated at table by rude barmaid who insisted on charging for drink I did not order or want. Drink was handed back and owner didn’t give a damn despite us being regular customers. What poor customer service and bad business management. Estimated annual spend on food and drink in excess of £700 just lost! Also will inform others of bad experience so more money lost……foolish attitude!

Beautiful food and lovely and hot

Ok. Not terrible. 'Country' chicken was just a plain piece of chicken. Good size and nicely cooked but nothing Country about it. In my world Country chicken is with a white wine cream sauce with vegetables and mushrooms. The ham was oddly chewy and fibrous but the egg was excellent, even survived the delivery intact.

How refreshing to find a local pub that offers home made high standard food at a very reasonable price. So many restaurants and pubs are ripping off the public by charging higher prices for 3 star plastic food. In the current climate where the general public are finding it a luxury to eat out.This establishment is one of very few that provides people with value for money. I rarely write reviews but this pub deserves a well earned 5 star review.

Had a roast lamb Sunday dinner delivered. Food was lovely, it arrived hot, the vegetables were all fresh and the portion size was excellent. All in all a proper 'home cooked' Sunday roast which I will definitely be having again. Compliments to the chef!

The food was utterly delicious, it was delivered quickly and we were delighted to find meals that were different from the usual types of takeaway available locally - but it arrived cold. It was served on paper plates with a loose covering of tin foil over the top and brought to the door in thin plastic bags. As there was a lot of sauce involved in both main dishes, the presentation didn't travel well either! Wakering to Southchurch is a bit of a way so we didn't expect piping hot, but it really does need to be transported in takeaway containers and insulated bags. We really do want to order again but please fix this.

My x mas food was a disaster staf are all rude food was nasty booked for 51t never sat down till 715 food was late all late out not a good place never would I go to this rude pub again

Bit disappointing if I’m being honest I ordered the steak and ale pie and could barely taste any ale n the steak was really dry and bland the quality of the food was good there was lots of meat but just lacked flavour

Food was lovely nice it came on plates only fault was the mash potato was slightly bland and didn't taste of much

It was a delicious meal. Good temperature on arrival. Beautiful tender meat, crisp roasties, fresh veg and a Yorkshire pudding which was a not soggy but it is hard to keep a Yorkshire from doing that.

Just discovered this on just eat, absolutely fantastic. Just ordered for the third time tonight. Food is delivered on a cardboard plate, ready to eat. Its piping hot. Tastes more like restaurant food than home delivered. Very very impressed

Worst roast potatoes iv ever had they was boiled potatoes with some sort of crusty stuff put on top was awful never again ordering from here.

A great roast dinner, Roast potatoes were massive and cooked to perfection, nice selection of veg and the lamb was also cooked perfectly, and generous portions of each to fill you up

Best place to order home cooked pub grub with care and love put into it. Food was hot and lovely, just like being in the pub

The food was served on paper plates with tin foil over it which made the plate soggy and overall the means we're sloppy. The portion for Shepard's pie was reasonable and if in better serving would have been ok, however portions of other meals were extremely undesirable and looked like half a kid's meal supposed to be a full meal. Can't recommend highly enough how the meals are packaged needs improvement.

Terrible. Told I would get a refund, they wanted to food back never collected it. Will never order again. 2 steaks were on the turn, my dessert never came. £50 down the drain.

This used to be such a lovely pub with great atmosphere & fabulous food. My husband & I have been going there for about 35 years & have never been disappointed until today. We both ordered the steak & ale pie which we have had many times previously & it’s always been the best we’ve ever had. However, the meat was inedible for me as it was so hard & chewy & the ale was non existent. Even my husband couldn’t plough his way through it. I asked for carrots instead of peas but apparently there was no time to peel or cook them as they now do “Just Eat” & were busy with that. The barmaid asked if we could go have a discount but she was told we couldn’t although we hadn’t actually asked for money off anyway but it would have been a nice gesture instead of the don’t care attitude. It won’t be somewhere we visit much now & I definitely won’t be ordering that pie again. We are 2 very disappointed loyal customers.

Great portion size, steak was cooked perfectly, salad was a bit of a let down but the steak was the star of the dish, wanted to order sauce but the price put me off without knowing how much you get, definitely ordering again.

Excellent food arrived within 20 minutes of ordering, piping hot. Even plated up and covered with foil so no washing up! Will deffinately order again .

Ice cream got all over my chips and the few chips that weren't completely ruined were soggy and very average and the 'hot chocolate fudge cake' was hard and cold and ended up throwing it away and ice cream was completely melted. Very disappointed after reading lots of positive reviews. The other food was nothing special unfortunately
