Christine and Melanie and Heather deserve every success. They are the friendliest people you could meet. The welcome and warmth you receive is amazing. My friends and I had lunch today and it was superb. Our table was reserved and the Christmas spirit was abundant. We are so great-full for our welcome and class all now as dear friends. Thank you all.

Me and the boys always come here for a weekend brekky or I come alone and it’s constantly good everytime. Affordable food and home cooked with lovely staff and a great atmosphere. A lot more than what I can say for the general standard for Penarth this past year.

This is a hidden little gem in Penarth. We visited as a family of 6. All food and drink requests were catered for and the service was so wonderful and personal. We were able to book very easily over the phone before visiting. The milk shakes are delicious and scones are incredibly generously sized. A brilliant family visit to make the most of when you are in Penarth!

We were all caught up in the pandemic but to call in this week was the best thing since sliced bread. Must keep it a secret though or we won’t have our very special window seat. Shuuuuush

Customer service when ordering was awkard. Not at all friendly service youd expect from a local cafe. Ordered a breakfast but asked to subsitute an item - meet with an awkard ' i dont know '. When the breakfast arrived - item i asked to subsitute was not on the plate or the replacement and the staff did not mention it. Later, when clearing the plates, the waitress said to me " you didn't get the subsituted item then!" with no apology or explanation. At no point did they come over to see if we were happy with our food.Food was ok however the portion size was dissappointing. I will not rush to go there again, mainly due to the unfriendliness of the staff, they clearly have their favourite (regular) customers.

Baguette wasn't freshly baked and tasted like one of those ones you buy part baked, full of nasty additives and sticks to the roof of your mouth! Sausages were cheap and nasty. Yuck! Nothing tasted nice, and it wasn't cheap either. We won't be returning.

I have dined at this establishment on several occasions however on a recent visit I was greeted by Ants at the table! Not my idea of a pleasant place to eat. If you are lucky enough to be served by one of the young lady waitresses you will at least receive good service, however if you happen to catch the manager on a bad day look out! She even seems unable to speak to her staff in a professional manner; it made me feel quite uncomfortable. In future I will be taking my lunch elsewhere - such a shame because the other staff are quite lovely.

Three of us ate here at lunchtime. We had the soup which was absolutely delicious served with a crusty roll, but they also had a really good assortment of cakes etc which looked wonderful. The staff were also very pleasant. The decor is marvellous with beautiful china on display. It has all been done with very good taste and there was a good assortment of seating. We will look forward to visiting this cafe again.

Was house sitting for a friend around the corner so I thought I'd try the local "cafe" for breakfast. Lovely clean establishment, decor pleasant & traditional with a fresh look. Was pretty busy but managed to nab the last table!.....Clientele ranges from every age & walk of life, seems the place to meet your friends for a cuppa/cake. Anyway, my order was taken swiftly (nice that the menu was short & specific) and the waitress said that there would be a wait as a few tables had arrived at the same time. Wasn't an issue for me as I wasn't in any rush. I opted for a breakfast with scrambled egg & pot of tea. After 10-15 min wait my food arrived. Lovely presentation on an oval plate, not a trace of fat/grease & nice produce. Have to say Im fussy when it comes to my scrambled egg, theirs was perfect...compliments sent to the chef. 2 days later went back for another breakfast....again same standards applied. And also had a lunch of scampi & chips, again nice crisp chips, fluffy inside & lovely scampi, and homemade tartare sauce...yummy. Didnt indulge but the cakes looked fab. Great staff highly recommend just a cuppa or food too. You can also book tables, advisable as each visit I only just got a table. Will be going again soon!

This small quaint tearoom situated in beautiful Penarth is so friendly and welcoming. I am always greeted on arrival and get amazing service. We ventured there today for breakfast. I have been here twice, after giving the first visit the benefit of doubt. However i won't be returning. The chicken curry turned out to be a green, greasy colour soup and with just a few tiny pieces of chicken. The majority of lumps were actually mushrooms, so it should be renamed mushroom curry. I later developed a stomach ache that lasted for hours. The so-called homemade welsh cakes were definately out of a packet, along with the bara brith. My husband asked for a black coffee but only got half a cup, he didn't need any space for milk of course. The tea wasn't of good quality. When leaving, we said goodbye and waved but the staff just stared at us blankly.

This is very prettily decorated with bunting and painted furniture to create a vintage feel. We were able to order something off the breakfast menu despite being there at lunchtime - a bacon roll - and I had an egg mayo and cress sandwich. The waitress explained they would have to boil the egg for my choice whilst we waited, but we didn't have to wait long and the food was tasty and nicely presented. Will definitely return to try the delicious cakes!

We have been visiting the Casa Paco restaurant for a few years. Each meal is better than the last and we’re always made to feel welcome. The meals are consistently high standard, I can’t wait to go again. We had many deliveries in lockdown and they were always piping hot and fresh. Karen and the team are wonderful hosts and cannot do enough for us. My favourite it the fillet steak and Rossini sauce - highly recommend!

We went here following glowing reviews on social media and here on trip advisor. Very disappointed with our lunch. You have to order at the bar and pay include the tip without the knowledge that they earned it! Our lunch which was from the small plate menu Lamb, and portion of chips. It took 40 minutes to arrive even after a reminder. others near us had theirs served before us even though we had arrived first. We sat on a table in the middle of the restaurant. We seemed to be isolated, window seats on larger tables were available but not to a 2. We quite often find this in some establishments but are usually offered a better table when requested. When we left 6 customers left. Oh dear, we shan't be back. By the way we find the shop also expensive. Other deli's offer more and better value.

This pub has been bought by the villagers. It’s is wonderful in so many ways. Cowbridge seems to be a black hole of decent food aside from the hare and hounds and maple and bean. This felt like a proper community pub in the 90s. The staff were all amazing. The food was amazing. There wasn’t a 400% markup on rubbish wine. The service as great. The atmosphere was lovely. Great starters of crab and squid were followed by perfectly cooked steak. The doughnuts with custard cream and strawberries were lovely. No rip off frozen food or “small plates” that nobody likes here. Go and support places like this. The rest of cowbridge eateries need to up their game.
