Feel like couldn't get you out the pub quick enough as apparently was a private party got be out for 6 o'clock throwing out at 1 minute past 6 but other left sitting there ? Won't be coming back again

Visited here on a Sunday as a brand new customer. The interior is a bit dark and dingy as there are no windows anywhere and no natural lighting, but would be cosy I suppose in winter. I felt a bit claustrophobic. The bar area looks nice and staff are pleasant. Drinks are very reasonably priced. I ordered at the bar an adult Sunday Roast for £8.50. It arrived at my table in good time. First observation is that the plate is on the small side but is fairly well loaded with food. The beef tasted nice and was mainly tender but had some gristle and fat around the edges of the slices. So some meat was left on the plate. I thought the beef portion size was only just adequate to be honest and that was disappointing. Please note the kitchen actually cooks roast joints of meat, so the meat does not come out of a pouch. You get a number of veggies like carrots, brocolli and cauliflower and these tasted okay and the portions were good. There were also boiled potatoes which also tasted nice. Another disappointment was with the single roast potato which tasted fatty with oil and not nice. But the Yorkie Pud tasted delicious. Please note all veggies are fresh and NOT frozen. The star of the show was the gravy which was exceptional and I was lucky to have asked for an extra pot ( at no extra charge). It was delicious. To sum up the Roast dinner was Good but NOT Excellent. At the price I guess it was okay. Meat portion was stingy though. There were quite a few diners having the Roast dinner so it is popular. Not sure yet whether I will return for more roast dinners!

White Rat had gone swapped it for Salopian Oracle, great pint, great staff. Professional 👍

One of the nicest places to eat in Hanley. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, serving hot home cooked food which is well presented. Carvery served daily which runs alongside a varied menu, very accommodating with dietary requirements. Mandie, Julie and all the staff are very welcoming and friendly 😀

We have been a few times it's always full of the sane people who enjoy a Sunday dinner the food is always fab home cooked good food it's cheap enough to feed a family staff are happy to help with anything can't pick a better dinner by far keep up the good work guys we be bk soon

Great beers, friendly and helpful staff, large space. It's not trendy of fancy, but it's a great place to sit and chat with friends over a decent pint.

We hired the Dudson Suite at Victoria Lounge Bar last weekend for my dads surprise retirement party. Great room! Great bar! We set up the night before, staff very friendly and accomodating. Barman was brilliant, couldn't help us enough. Everyone had a fab night, and I would definitely use the room again for a party. Thank you! Highly recommend

We were booked into the regent theatre and arrived in stoke early as we’d never been there before and didn’t want to be late for the show. We popped into the Victoria lounge hoping to eat but they normally finish food at 2. The young lady behind the bar was fabulous, she asked what we wanted and when we said just snacks, she checked availability and gave us a choice, limited but still, totally unexpected under the circumstances. We opted for ham sandwiches which were so fresh and they came with salad and roasties. The lounge is so welcoming and comfortable. Just want to give credit where credits due, thank you for your hospitality, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and recommend this venue. Mac and Glenda, Shropshire

Great oasis in run down Hanley. Cosy, great food, nice atmosphere and busy. Upstairs room to hire for special events plus private snooker area.

This place is a dingey time capsule with mismatched, tired & outdated decor, uninterested staff and poor quality food cooked from frozen. Not recommended.

Lovely place inside but ......! The beef was the toughest Iv had in a long while and the veg is limited !! There's a new menu with not a lot on it compared to how it used to be. We've used this place for a long time and seems like it dropped its standards.

Went for a meal before the show only two hot selections and no real children's menu very poor. The food did look good but no selection at all.

Nice food for a good price, staff is friendly and still taking Covid-precautions. Table-service works out better than queuing to order your food.

We visit here whenever we go to the local theatres, which is quite regular. The pub is always clean and the staff always friendly. There is a good atmosphere and it gets very busy so is obviously well loved by a lot of people. We had food on the last visit. It was good simple food, tasty but not over facing and a fair price. Would we visit again? Absolutely 😀

If like me, You are a connoisseur of real Ale, In my humble opinion, This is one of the best establishments in the City centre to experience a wide selection of beautifully kept, Hand pulled Beers. After complementing the Barman on just how good the Beer was. He said it was down to his meticulous cleaning of the pipes on a daily basis. With the cost of Beer rising, it's refreshing to know, you'll always be getting a perfectly tasting , Value for money product here. And by the way, They do tasty, no thrills food too.... Spotlessly clean ,A great place to visit 👍

Well layed out, nice and clean, friendly bar staff, good selection of ale, Guinness was very nice. A good plane to visit. We were upstairs at a charity event.

I can't be the first researching a quick lunch break during Jury Service nearby. It ticked all the boxes well. They found a good sized table for us. and ensured the food came out so we could eat it and get back on time. Part of their problem was the different levels of food ordered, from snacks (which actually take longer to put together), than the carveries some wanted. On different occasions I had soup and a jacket, both being fine. Others had the Carvery etc., which they also enjoyed.

This is great Pub to visit, especially if your in the area to see a show at Victoria Hall just 10 metres away. Good choice of beer, I recommend "Blondie Star". Pay Pub prices instead of the exorbitant ones in the Hall. Better still I was there to see Marillion at the Hall and the Pub was playing a Marillion mix throughout the evening to get punters in the mood for the show. Great atmosphere 👌

Lovely staff, nothing is too much trouble, beautiful food on offer, the roast pork and applesauce was lovely, they serve then bring your plate over. The system they use for ordering and serving food works really well. Nice decor too.

The Victoria Lounge Bar is one of the nicer bars in the city centre. A good range of wines, spirits and traditional beer's. They served a excellent range of food at competitive prices, whether you want a full lunch or just a chip butties. This family run business is a must when visiting the city centre, you will be warmly welcomed by Mandy and her staff. The venue is close to the city's bus station and next door to the Victoria Hall ideal for a drink before or after the show.

A perfect place to chill, pre theatre drinks & light brunch, snooker tables too!

We had been here a few times before COVID hit but their website stated food served lunchtimes only. So messaged and spoke to Mandie who told me if a meal was wanted in the evening 24hrs notice was needed but snacks available. Confirmed we would like a meal and ordered with her and wow, what a meal! Absolutely delicious roast beef dinner - too much to clear the plate! Thank you to Mandie and all her team. We will be back!

Came here for the first time very recently and I can't wait to return. The roast was absolutely sublime and the drinks selection was great. Everything was well priced and the venue was very well looked after. Couldn't fault the staff either, all very friendly and attentive.

This is a wonderful find! There are full-size pool tables for afficianados but we came with friends for a great lunch! And beer. It's an interesting period piece in levels of comfort!

Hired the Dudson Suite for a works quiz night. Brilliant venue, couldn't be happier, exactly what we needed, will be using again.

I have only recently discovered this gem of a place. Food is good and very reasonably priced. Mandie and her staff are to be congratulated. Mum and Dad are regular visitors here and we all recommend it.

Had contacted Mandie in advance to ask what was on the menu and was told whatever I wanted! Whats not to like about the place? Excellent home cooked food that are of generous sizes and brilliant bear on tap too. Really friendly place and the home made pie was lovely.

Had a family engagement party here never again disco was awful miserable barstaff would never recommend this place to anyone

I went to the theatre to see the CBSO at the Victoria Hall where I have been many times and always used their facilities.....but someone recommended this place to me and I was absolutely amazed ....I’ve walked past so many times and never ventured in ....what a big mistake!!!!....on entering I was past by one of the bar staff carrying two meals (which looked fabulous I must add) to a table of diners .....going to the bar was a delight a tremendous selection of drinks and the bar staff were not only courteous but very knowledgeable as well regarding their beers .....I went back after the concert and although there was a queue of people I was quickly served .....I would definitely recommend and I will be going back again Thanks Norman

Had joint birthday party at dudson suite great night but spoiled by miserable bar staff who need to learn some people skills also let down 3 weeks before party by being told there was less seating than when we booked so some people had to stand all night while having a drink or something to eat so some left early left balloons in corner to collect next day they were all tangled up so we had to cut weights off and re tye them would not recommend on our experience found out later we were being watched on camera all night but hope they were happy with the amount of money they must have taken at the bar

Just wanted to say what a fantastic night I had for my 30th birthday. The Victoria lounge bar looked after everything from the catering to booking the dj, which took a lot of pressure off me. They were more than helpful in every aspect. I can not thank you enough. I would highly recommend to family and friends .

Had mine and my dad's birthday party upstairs in the dudson suit last night 13/10/18 the party was brill shame I couldn't say the same about the barman we had (neil) who fell out with a guest with in the first 10 mins and kept staring and talking about us and then when we went collect balloons and other things we found all balloons tangled together and not how we left them I'm surprised the beer didn't turn sour of his miserable face but we didn't let him ruin the party

first visit to this pub. I ordered a pot of tea, to which I was given two tea bags and small pot of milk. as I do not like my tea strong I put one bag in pot to which went cold and strong not long after. I went to ask for a little boiling water to top up my cold strong tea and surprisingly was refused. I have never been refused a little bit of boiling water before. I could not believe the bar staff would not give me any, I had already paid for the pot, three more drinks and four meals at this pub. I shall never visit them again.
