Great concept. Not necessarily the most healthy, but when it tastes this good, well it is worth it! Great innovative choices & imaginative combo's. Vegan friendly. Well worth a visit...

The venue was nice lovely staff food averaged. But recommended for bug group if you want to go for drinks and food around this area.

We visited the Quarter Cafe just before covid and loved it, so decided recently we were long overdue another visit. We visited in October and again with friends in December. Our visit in October was not exactly what we had hoped for, but the cafe was exceptionally busy so we put it down to this. One wiatress particularly is actually unpleasant - she seems to despise her job and treats customers as an inconvenience to her day. We returned in December and whilst the cafe was much quieter, unfortunately the experience was no better. Whilst I really enjoyed my food (waffles and maple syrup) others in my group said theirs was mediocre at best and it is expensive. The same woman was unfortunately serving us again and not any happier, but was very keen to hover over us whilst we pressed the button to add a gratuity when paying. Don't think we will be visiting again, which is a shame as it used to be a great place.

So sad its going its a lovely place and will be sadly missed

I called in at lunchtime with two friends and placed our order, 1 eggs on toast, 1 soup and 1 baked potato. It wasn't busy but it still took them an hour to serve our food leaving us with little time to eat it and my friend had to leave without finishing this meal. Very poor service!

We booked online 2 weeks b4 we wanted to go requesting we needed a table downstairs, after receiving 2 reminders about our booking we received a email 45 minutes b4 our booking time that our booking requirements couldn't be met not offering another option even though it wouldn't be suitable, maybe because they are closing down soon ,but really disappointed been b4 and it was very nice but won't be returning to the quarter or the potbank, so don't book if you have any special requests because they will be overlooked.

I've been here many times before, and it's always been good. However, four of us visited for a birthday meal, and it was disappointing. The service was slow, the staff were mostly very young and don't seem bothered. The table next to us were raucous women on a 'girls night' and we ended up having to shout to each other across our table to be heard and have any kind of conversation. The food was nothing special, which was a shame, as we have always enjoyed eating there in the past. There also seem to be discrepancies, e.g. the burger was small and underwhelming, especially for the price, but the portion of curry was too large for me to finish. Lastly, I don't know what they're cooking with, but our clothes, hair, coats and even my bag absolutely stank to high heaven afterwards. I shampooed my hair three times and could still smell it. This place used to be busy on a Saturday night, but there were empty tables, so maybe there's a problem there that needs addressing. I don't know if we will be rushing back anytime soon.

First time in the QUARTER and it was lovely. Great food with a variety of options for different dietary requirements. I had eggs benedict and my friend had a vegan option. Both presented lovely and tastes delicious.

So lovely place to take a coffee. How amazing is the porcelain. I'm very sure I'll come back.

Have a great evening menu and good selection for kids, the staff were very friendly, the quality of food was also very good. Lovely decor, and a nice ambience. Even have some games available and books should you be dining alone, or entertaining children. Great experience here, thank you.

Visited July 2022 for the tarot night. We also had a meal. First time visiting establishment. We paid £20 each for a tarot reading. Three tarot readers, one table for each reader at the front of the restaurant by the main window. We booked our own time slot for this. Event was organised well. We ordered our drinks first, had a reading which was very good, then placed an order for food, more drinks and eventually dessert. The place was packed, upstairs as well as down stairs. So I did expect waiting times to be standard waiting times for how busy it was. We waited for 25 minutes for food, which I thought was good. I cannot tolerate spice in food (health reasons) I did panic but they did offer food on the menu without any spice. Food was delicious, full of flavour and tasty. Dessert choice was very hard to select, so we selected 3 and shared lol. We had many, many cocktails and they also had a special cocktail for someone who has cancer and a percentage of the money goes towards them, touched me, so ordered two. It was a different kind of night out, which is hard to find, as everywhere is the same old, same old kinda night. This is something I have recommended to many people and I would do again in the future. We need more nights which is themed like this etc Food is good, desserts are good, cocktails are good, time waiting wasn't bad at all, staff friendly, enquired if food was nice etc and if we enjoyed tarot. I would recommend. I have a table booked for the 29th October 2022 for 5pm and theatre tickets afterwards at 7.30pm, I booked the table a good few hours before the show in case it's busy and packed again. (reading reviews from theatre ticket people has me a little worried, shall do another review on this.)

We haven’t visited for a while so booked to go for tea tonight before a show. The food is amazing, really really tasty. We had enchiladas, fajitas and pizza and they were all delicious. The staff are friendly and the place has such a lovely buzz about it. We will be returning a lot sooner next time.

I enjoyed the warm welcome and food here, the halloumi starter was very generous with rocket and lemon, the Steak and cheese brioche was very tasty and as you can see the sticky toffee pudding was plentiful. I would definitely visit again.

Been to The Quarter many times before and always enjoyed it. Four of us went for a pre-theatre meal. The staff knew we were going to the theatre as they asked us as they seated us. Our meals (3 pasta dishes and 1 fish taco) took an hour to arrive. We had to eat our meals in 10 minutes. I didn’t finish mine as I was so rushed. The food was lovely and I was disappointed not to manage the whole meal. The staff did apologise and they did knock 10% off the bill but it wasn’t good enough really. Will definitely think long and hard before we eat there again.

Me and my girlfriend came here for a meal on the 15/10/22 , the food here was amazing we both loved it , very nice relaxing atmosphere. The staff were all very good, will definitely visit again Thankyou

We called in for a sandwich which was not to bad apart from we thought to be very expensive. & the chips were very greasy.

Really enjoyed my experience here. Good food, great cocktails but slow service. X2 waitresses stood behind bar on their phones and I couldn’t get their attention which was pretty annoying.

My first visit today with friends , prior to an afternoon theatre show. Lovely dining area & a lady playing the piano, which was fab. Ordered the asian style sticky chicken which was to die for . Will definately be back again

The chairs are rickety, uncomfortable and you leave stinking of food because the ventilation system is terrible. When we ordered the food we asked if my 7 year old son could have a waffle for his breakfast and although it wasn’t on the kids menu, the waitress said that she would see what she could do. When the food came out, the waffle was much sweeter than anything we have ever tasted and was covered in loads of syrup so my son didn’t eat it. One of the other orders was also wrong but nobody came to check if we were happy with our meals so my partner ended up eating it. When I received the £90 bill I realised that the waffle meal had been put through as a waffle Stack adults meal at £10, so I politely approached the lady at the till to ask if the price could be reduced given that my son did not like the waffle and did not have all the extras that the adults meal comes with. The lady (who told me she was the owner) showed no empathy and told me that the best she could do was deduct £1 off the bill. I felt her whole approach to the issue was appalling and will certainly not be returning. Good luck treating your customers this way.

First time tonight.carnt fault it .food was fantastic.

I'm not a big fan of Hanley as it's a bit drab but would happily visit just to eat here (there's a car park just around the corner). It's quite expensive but the food is great and the home-made cakes are delicious. The coffee is good and I thoroughly enjoyed my half-pint of Grand Central IPA. The staff are fab and went out of their way to assist me as I'm in a wheelchair. The cafe is a bit tight of space with chairs and tables quite close together, but the staff ensured unused chairs were moved out of the way for me which was nice. Unfortunately, there isn't an accessible toilet here but the staff did allow me to use theirs. However, anyone with severe walking impairment would not be able to use it. My first visit and certainly not my last!

Went for an evening meal on a busy Wednesday evening. Great food (big portions!); friendly staff who provided fantastic service, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Will definately be visiting again.

The unfriendliest and coldest of welcomes by whomever stands at the front door. Their conduct caused me (and my party) to wander next door Slamwich where they do know how to greet customers; I happily spent my money there instead. A shame really, the food at the Quarter looked so pleasant - now I will never know.

been before and enjoyed it however this time i was let down by overall quality of my meal, it was just OK considering for £15 it wasn't rally wowing me over other restaurants and pubs that provide the same meal. Lovely service however let down by a loud and angry kitchen which provided i understand but it would be worth keeping the kitchen either a door that shuts sound as it was awkward to hear staff arguments so close to our table. drinks were great for the price though a pina colada is really a highlight for me!

Good quality food in a nice, slightly quirky cafe/bar full of decoration. Probably the best place in the area to eat.

Very pleasant place, food very nice

The food in this place is great. A wide selection of Tapas and other cuisines are available as well as an excellent cocktail menu and wine list. This place is quirky and is obviously very popular with locals as it was busy on both midweek nights we were there.

Been to the Quarter many times. Always buzzing and attentive staff with great food. Today, a Saturday morning it was very quite. Despite few customers the service from the three staff members was very poor. When the food came it was as poor as the service. A hair in one dish! The avocado on toast came on regular sliced bread which had barely seen a toaster. So disappointing after previous great experiences. Are the owners focusing on the Quarter at Potbank? If so this is very brand damaging. It appears we are not alone having looking at other recent reviews. It would be a great shame to lose this previously great venue. You need to up your game!

I came into the Quater this evening and had a very delightful experience. One of the waitresses was very wonderful! I believe her name was Hannah. She was kind and caring and made sure we were happy with our food. I’m writing this review to tell you all how amazing she truely was. 100% would come again just to see her once again. Food was top notch. Loved it!!

My first time here, I was looking forward to it. The only saving grace was the waitress. She was lovely and attentive, if a little embarrassed by the 2.5 hours we had to wait for our food! When it finally arrived, most of the meals were disappointing at best. A real let down sadly. First and last visit.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with the service received during our last visit. We had the table booked for a specified amount of time, however we felt pressurised and hassled with at least 40 minutes left of our time. We were reminded on several occasions of our time to leave. We were even told that the next group of people who were using the table had arrived early. We were also asked to pay at the table prior to one of the desserts arriving. The food was lovely, however the pressure to ‘finish and leave’ did make us feel very uncomfortable.

WOW! A group of us went and we had the tapas. The dishes were amazing and the staff were very attentive and extremely friendly.

Ordered four meals, two were inedible. The burger was so burnt it was like eating cardboard, and the chicken salad was dry and crumbly.

Really clean, very pleasant and helpful staff, great tasting coffee, especially like sugar in sealed pots, good and tasty menu. Their selection of cakes are good and very tasty, really recommend this cafe /restaurant, best to book for afternoon lunch. 12.07.22 Been again today, called in while on walk with daughter, just for drinks and cake. Still same great standard well worth visit if your visiting Hanley. Keep it up.

A treat from our daughters before going to the theatre. Would highly recommend, from the moment we stepped in staff were welcoming very polite friendly and accommodating. Wonderful atmosphere, very quirky establishment. Excellent choice of food and drink.

Tuesday at 6pm, very quiet and refused as too busy for 1 person. In response. I was in your restaurant, the young guy serving told me you had a large book in soon. I said I would sit outside but he still told me he could not accommodate me. Maybe you should look at your staff before calling me a liar as I have no gain at all by lying

Honestly the best place to get food in Hanley. Live music and the relaxed atmosphere is amazing. I had the sticky Asian chicken and my partner had the hunters chicken. It was so delicious was tempted to get some more. Highly recommend this place if you want some soul with your food

Second time I’ve eaten here in a month. The food is always super tasty. It does take a little longer than normal shin digs but it’s worth it for sure. Portion sizing is beyond generous also! Loads of veggie options. Too one thing I would recommend is a more exciting drought beer selection. It’s a little meh to say the least. What about some craft stuff like a tap of Cloudwater? I know it costs more and you can still server the cheaper stuff but it would be great for those looking to have a better experience. Saying that though the cocktails were top notch.

Came here for dinner with my sister and could not fault the food, service and decor. Really extensive menu and staff were really accommodating with my dietary allergies. Love the relaxed, cool vibe and the food and wine were delicious too. Really reasonably priced. Would thoroughly recommend

A member of our party is severely allergic to both gluten and dairy, meaning it's very difficult to have a meal out at a restaurant... Here they were super helpful and accommodating, taking a standard dish, allowing us to see/check the spice ingredients, and substituting some of the sides to cater for our needs... And they were lovely about doing it. The food presentation was fantastic and was delicious too.

Really friendly staff and excellent music. We got there a bit early and we're glad we did as it got completely packed soon after! Appears to be a local favourite. Good food and good desserts!

Made to feel a slight bit uncomfortable as we walked in 5 minutes before table booking when we saw people eating only to be approached quite abruptly to say we are shut that's my family eating told to wait outside for 5 minutes like two naughty school kids was not a great start to a long weekend away

My first visit. The interior was really cool and quirky. They had a pretty good cocktail selection and drinks were nice. I was quite disappointed with the food so probably won't go back. I had fajitas they didn't taste great, nothing like fajitas generally taste. The chicken and peppers were sitting in a bowl that had brown liquid at the bottom. Only 3 wraps which were cold and a bit dry, so guessing they'd been left out for a bit.

The volume of the music is beyond stupid. Couldn't hear myself think let alone my friends that I went with. The ice cream sundae. Don't bother. The ice cream has freezer burn and brownies essentially from Tesco bakery. 10/10 do not bother.

Visited on 13th May as a couple. We’re seated at a large round table in the window that was wobbly - and really annoying. There was quite a lengthy wait of about an hour for food but this was a busy Friday evening and there...

Being coeliac ime hesitant to go to places but was informed this place was great, looking at the menu there was plenty of starters choices not so many mains, I chose hunters chicken meal, which I found wasn't tasty and was quite watery, Jessica must have sensed my disappointment and came over to ask how our meal was, my hubby has from the normal menu and was loving his I told Jessica I wasn't really impressed as it had no taste and was watery but its fine I would eat it, Jessica stated that she was there to make sure I enjoyed my meal so would like me to choose something else, I did and enjoyed it. Jessica went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our food, nothing was too much at all. We left a tip as we felt she whole heartedly deserved the recognition and our thanks, but unfortunately it doesn't just go to her. All of the staff are welcoming there, and this incident has definately not put me off going there again

Ordered steak n cheese brioche burger when it came meat looked odd orange colour, really chewy n the bun underneath was soaked in orange coloured oil. Didnt want to complain but couldn't eat any of it , my friend spoke up, and I then ordered dirty chips. Would of been ok if the chips were cooked, they were hard. Again I couldn't eat it. So left disappointed as when we've been before the food was lovely. Perhaps they changed the cook. Sad because were all put off going their again 😢 😔

Myself and friends visited the restaurant as a birthday celebration. When we entered we were quickly shown to our table, situated upstairs. Once we were settles drinks orders were taken and arrived quickly. Everyone had a cocktail and we all said how nice they were....

I went to the quarter for the first time last night for a work meal and it was amazing! The food was great but it was all made better by Louise, who served us. She is amazing! So attentive and patient as we were quite a big group, she was great!

2nd time I've visited here now and we brought family with us this time. We were doing a vegan challenge at the time we arrived so we were delighted to learn they had many vegan options, including a vegan chocolate orange cake! Everybody left very happy, but out clothes all stank of food the next day. The restaurant does get pretty steamy. Otherwise no complaints, food and service is repeatedly excellent 👍🏻

Nice choice if food for meat eaters and vegetarians reccomend the tapas. Not cheap.

tried to order online there systems are down call to place the order they call back to say order at another restaurant as they cant fulfil the order, we had a £60 order which they refused to cook for us. will be the last time...

Always amazing food and people working there. The only thing that can be sort of improved is to expand the beer menu for us that like different beer.
