On our arrival we were greeted with dirty table cloths in the front entrance and it went down hill from there, we had lamb shanks that had more bone than meat some were even cold, the mash potatoe was watery and soggy, the sweet was profiteroles again soggy when asked for more chocolate sauce could not be bothered to tell use they had run out, we were expecting cheese and biscuits that also was a no show, waitress struggled as the cook could not serve fast enough overall berry disappointed and will not be returning

The best Indian in the area has moved from the Joey to the Granny and the food is better than ever! Eating outside, with a fresh pint and sun shining 👍

We often drink at the Rose and Crown but had never taken family there before, including a 2 year old! From the moment that the staff sorted seating out for us, the customer service was exceptional. Quick and friendly service, and the staff could not have been more helpful in helping to keep the 2 year old amused, particularly the kind man who brought smarties to the table for her (I didn't take his name, but he had his own 2 year old I believe!). The atmosphere was very welcoming, and our family were thoroughly impressed. The Guinness was very good too (appreciated by my Irish Brother-in-Law!!)

Some what disappointed in this visit,I was served a lager shandy which did not taste right, when I passed it back to the women behind the bar I was told they were having problems with water supply,so why serve this in the first place,I asked for pint of coke was given a very warm glass of 2 bottles of coke, and the way she spoke to me was not exactly great,Now the food mash potatoes sorry I don't believe that is homemade,it was like it have come from a packet and microwave, the link sausage was cooked on one side but looked raw on the other, freind had fishcake and chips 2 fishcakes and some chips, there were 4 of us we all had different things all in all not bad but not grate,2 of us had apple crumble and custard both came out Luke warm, the apple what apple it was a apple puray bitter and runny not nice.sorry but that's how it was been before and it was lovely but 6 out of 10 this time.younger staff were polite,we also had the older lady one from the bar just lean over take the plates with out asking quite rude, must have been having a bad night it was very busy but not an excuse.
