This has to be the best breakfast around locally. Coupled with the lovely members of staff the whole visit was a pleasant experience. Served by Keren who was a sheer delight and cooked by Jill who excelled in the quality of the food. Delivered by the equally delightful Jane. Lovely displays that always enchant and always nice and clean. There are many alternatives around here locally but Victoria at Featherstone is well worth a return visit. 10/10. Always just a great wholesome feel good factor experience. Can’t wait for Christmas!!!

Not a bad place to visit, but the garden centre prices are way above what the area expects. How long this business will last charging these prices remains to be seen. The food we saw was just average, with fish and chips costing a wallet thumping £14.

What a lovely trip out! My sister and I took our elderly and mobility compromised parents for a look around the shop and a lunch, it was their first trip outside the home in several weeks. We booked s table and were offered a nice table in a quiet corner near the christmas tree which was lovely. We were served by the loveliest staff both behind the counter and at the table, enjoyed freshly prepared delicious food and piping hot pots of tea. As our parents were a bit tired by the end of the meal i asked if we could have some mince pies to take away, Keren individually wrapped the home bakes in paper and bags to bring home. I was especially thrilled to find gluten free fish and chips on the menu and a selection of other lovely GF options. What a treat ! Thankyou so much for making our lunch special .

Very disappointing turkey lunch, it had clearly been sitting in the kitchen for some time before they brought it out, dried out and luke warm. Tried to send it back but the kitchen refused to admit that it hadn't just been plated up, the fact that it was waiting for me by the time I walked from the till to the table was clear evidence it was already plated up. They even served me a cup of coffee they had poured in error and had also been sittig there waiting for someone to claim it. Terrible value for money, won't be going back.

I have often visited the Nocutts restaurant and found it difficult to find vegan options. Today I was pleasantly surprised to have choices including; a pasta dish, sausage casserollet and jacket potato with chilli. The chilli was beautifully presented with fresh salad and very tasty. Not too spicy. Apparently the chef is vegan. It was delicious and I can definitely recommend. The service was also 5* with extremely polite and friendly counter staff. Not applicable to me but they also had indoor dog friendly tables.

Visited this morning for coffee and catch up with a friend. We meet up most weeks and this is our venue of choice. Today we decided to try the blueberry and lemon scones as they are a new addition to the menu. We were definitely not disappointed. Lovely light texture with lots of fruit. The combination of the sweet blueberries combined with the slight tartness of the lemon was a delight. I would fully recommend trying them. I also would recommend the pear and pecan upside-down tray bake. Absolutely delicious and definitely one of my favourites.

Have always enjoyed visiting this garden centre cafe but lately feel it is going downhill. The queues are horrendous since they got rid of the separate order point & very slow moving. The selection of food has shrunk vastly & lovely panini such as Brie, spinach & mushroom have been replaced by dried up looking excuses for fresh paninis. There used to be a wide selection of large, tasty scones with different flavours & now the baskets are usually empty even just after lunch, plus the nice flavours don’t seem to be served any longer. Think a fresh look is required, the decor may have improved but the food certainly hasn’t.

The garden centre itself is lovely, however the restaurant needs improvement. Very minimal choice at very extautinate prices. Tuna melt panni with a very small portion of chips £8.00 and wasn't nice at all... Ended up in the dog. £2.65 for a regular latte half the size of your regular Costa and a chicken sandwich at 6.50. There was no attention to detail or pride in presentation of the food. Definitely not value for money and lets the rest of what is a lovely garden centre down. On a plus side it is very dog friendly. If I were to go again I'd give the food a miss!!!

My wife and I had the Sausage & Mash with onions, garden peas and gravy. It was simply delicious and the best meal we have had there so far. The sausages were tasty and smooth with not a hint of gristle in any of them (4 in all), the mash was also smooth with no hard bits in it. Also the whole meal was piping hot (but not too hot so that it burned your mouth), something which we were especially pleased with as it can so often be one of the things that lets a meal down. Overall the quality it the meal was excellent as was the service - we were only waiting about 10 minutes at the most. Compliments to Nicola Fisher and Chelsea Young (the chefs) and Keren Smart who served us. Also we used our loyalty card (costs £10 for the year) and got one meal free (can be used three times during the year) and two free drinks of tea (can be used once every month of the year). Looks like they were in the middle of a makeover, hopefully not yet finished, still old fashioned antique pine chairs and wobbly tables! Had chilli, rice, sour cream and tortillas (which was actually one big tortilla). Tasted nice but certainly not worth £10! That is extortionate for a garden centre, not massive portion and one tortilla! certainly was no different than I could do for that sort of price! Can’t fault the taste, bit luke warm, maybe better presentation and a few tortillas with sour cream and maybe some guacamole would be a nice touch. Lovely staff and prompt service.

Had lunch with friends recently. The first table we sat at was in a wind tunnel so we moved to the raised area on the left which was much more comfortable. The ordering was pretty slow. Picked up cutlery from the side table - two of us had to return ours as they were dirty. Took my first cup of tea back as it had a stale smell. The replacement was fine. Had a second cup of tea with cake later - that smell again! I don't think the dishwasher is cleaning very well. The cheesy baked potato was fine but could have been a bit hotter. Not cheap, either. They seem to have raised the prices quite a bit since my last visit. Maybe we'll be looking for a different lunch venue next time ...

Took my little boy to see Santa which cost £8.50, a very odd experience. Santa, who had bizarrely grabbed my mother in the store and kissed her, seemed more interested in talking to the adults than the children, seemed at a loss as to what to say to the child apart from some chat about Peppa Pig (to a six year old boy...) and the 'elves' looked utterly bored. Very uncomfortable and strange experience, the gift was ok but experience not worth the high cost. Very geared toward getting you in front of the camera so that they can sell you a picture on top of the £8.50 entry fee. Get a new Santa Victoria...I'll stick to Stockeld in future

What a disappointment, the cafe, could never be described as a restaurant, was uninviting with uncleared tables, which when they were cleared were not wiped down just left covered in crumbs. The café was full so we expected a good variety and quality snack lunch. My wife ordered soup and I ordered a jacket potato, and 2 pots of tea The tea we took to a table,we were given large wide cups which took one filling from the pot, It was cold before the meal arrived at least 15 minutes later. My wife said the soup was of poor quality at over £5 , and my jacket potato skin was so tough I needed more than a knife to cut it, again at over £5. I noticed also at other tables part of lunch meals were left. The food was poorly cooked, the prices grossly over the top and quite frankly a greasy spoon would have done better-We did purchase some plants, took them to the till in a basket, and we told quite brusquely that I could not take the basket to the car . So I've spent 20 years in the customer service business and working for 2 very well known cafe branches. The victoria Garden centre is brilliant but...... the cafe is like something out of Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares. The staff if that's what you want to call them have lost the will to interact with a customer, they walk around like zombies grinding out a meaningless working existence, I queue up for 15 minuets just waiting for someone to get my order from the centre till (its a strange alien two till system, order at one shuffle down pay at the end) by then most customers had moved on only to be dragged all the way back and the whole queue to shuffle down the line so missed people could order.Once i got to the pay till i was met by the dead eyes of the till assistant who by her angry manner was not having a good day. (she looked as if she really really wanted to fight someone)my clotted cream (for my scones we will get to those) was thrown down the counter just before my teapot slammed down with a hulk smash mentality.Ok so fair enough but the foods got to be worth it right...... Wrong! Its a tiny menu of random items that are trying sooooo desperately to be fancy or trendy and man does it fall flat on its face.Sandwiches that are served in giant pretzels?Chips that turn up in tiny metal cups ..... yeah little chipped camping cups £2.50 for 8 chips in a cup? Are you kidding me, should see the hunters chicken (if you can find it under the over powering instant mix bbq sauce that looks like sloppy mud)or the (Bland) curry that comes out with rice so solid you can do party tricks, turn the plate upside down and watch it defy gravity with style. This food oh by the way is like £9.60 odd a plate......... wow So the staff .... there is no order the till member runs off to make coffee because they are behind leaving customers waiting. Tables are cleared mainly by the customers, even when the staff get there first you have to bush away crumbs and tissues from your table and seat. DO YOUR STAFF A FAVOUR!!!!1. Buy some collection tubs so your staff can clear multiple tables at a time2. Set staff to one area if your on a till stay on a till if your on floor waiting and clearing stay there.3. when you clear a table spay some kind of sanatizer and wipe it down!4. Customer service even if its busy a smile and a quick hello will work wonders5. If do not under any circumstances b***h about each other or the customers in front of the customers. WE HAVE EARS! (it wasn't about me but the lady who was the subject of this discussion was right there listening)NOW FOR THE ONE AMAZING THING! the redeeming feature of this place is the scones! My god they are good! like little home made tasty servings of love. Cherry,Date, apple and cinnamon,Raspberry and white chocolate! Bliss In all due respects to anyone who reads this do your self a favour buy some scones stick em in a bag and leg it home there only £1.80 and its the only thing worth your money in this cafe

Unfortunately this is a complaint, which I feel justified in making. We went to this garden centre on Bank Holiday Monday, and was quite surprised at how quiet it appeared to be. However, we decided to go to the restaurant for coffee. There was one lady in the process of ordering food, so as I only wanted drinks I went passed her, straight to the till in order to purchase the drinks. The service was that slow, by the time someone came to serve me, the lady who I by-passed had also now come to the till. I told her I had come to the front of the queue as she was ordering food, but she was quite happy with that. I must say, that at this point there were only the two of us waiting to be served. When the member of staff came to serve us, she asked me if I had ordered. I told her that I only wanted drinks, but she said I still had to order them, and that I should now join the end of the queue that had formed. I politely asked her where the notice was that would inform me that I had to order before I got to the till. When I asked if she really expected me to go to the end of the queue, she said that on this occasion she would serve me. Can I just say that I am an elderly lady, and never have I felt so embarrassed. I know many people would have told her exactly what to do with her drinks, but I saw no point in standing there arguing with onlookers watching the proceedings. I am not saying I was right, but whatever happened to the old adage "the customer is always right"? None of us are perfect, but I do object to being made to feel uncomfortable when I only wanted two coffee's.

We visited on bank holiday Monday and visited the cafe. We ordered 2 flat whites, got the drinks both in different size cups on asking for saucers told they didn't have them for that particular cup. We also had a cherry scone which certainly wasn't fresh on the day at least 2 days old. A lot of young staff chatting amongst themselves not a good visit.

We visited the garden centre to buy a garden seating set and a number of gifts . While we were there we visited the cafe. It was noisy and untidy but very busy . We assumed that the food must be good due to the queue that had formed ! Sadly this was not the case . We ordered 2 panini lunches at £6.95 each . Normally at this price I expect a tasty and well presented lunch . What arrived was not a panini at all , it was a long roll , shaped like a panini with griddle inserted marks on the roll . The roll was not toasted or griddled, it was warmed up. The warm tasteless pulled pork was inserted on its own . No sign of a side salad / crisps . There was a token tiny dish of coleslaw. We ordered a white coffee to be given a latte . Although this could be an easy mistake to make for an assistant . I was so dissatisfied at spending nearly £20 on a poor eating experience that I put my basket down and did not purchase any thing , not even the garden set we originally went for . Not to return again . I feel this establishment has become rather complacent .

Had a visit to the garden centre with my friend, whilst there was a fantastic range, I found many of the products very expensive. We also visited the café, but were extremely disappointed with the quality of food. My cheese had pickle sandwich was quite poor and it looked like they had added pickle then scrapped it off with a knife. My friend bought a pulled pork sandwich that was pale and watery looking and took it back to be exchanged for another option.

Garden Centre is OK, but more on pets, clothing and ornaments than Garden. Café, OK but lacks any sort of atmosphere. The echo is deafening and the restrictive layout is not the best, as part closes.

I had to beg the girl's pardon twice when she told me a couple of paninis, a fish & chips, a baked potato and soft drinks came to £40. The food was mediocre. My baked potato was very small and tasted soggy, almost watery, with a very chewable skin. Meh. Cakes looked lovely but I had no more cash left.

Myself my husband and 2 friends visited here today to buy some things for the garden, we also found a water feature that we had been looking for, although it wasn't in stockthe staff were very helpful and got it ordered for us. We also visited the cafe and enjoyed coffees, scones and sausage rolls, there was a lovely girl playing the guitar and singing, this made it an enjoyable afternoon. We will be coming back a.s.a.p.

The recent make over is quite stunning and pleasant. The food is excellent, especially the breakfasts, which I now regularly go every Saturday morning. The home made scones are to die for and with such nice and polite staff it was a real treat and a pleasure to visit. A must go to venue and a must have visit to the restaurant. All in all I would highly recommend as a high class quality place to visit. The manager does a proud and clean job of the place which is worth a million dollar these days. Well done Victoria, take a bow.

Ordered 2 late and toasted tea cake. Coffee was ok apart from being £2.75 which I think is pricey for a few coffee beans and milk. It's well known fresh coffee is a real earner due to the low price they outlay for it. Coffee was nice though, albeit a little luke warm rather than hot. Waited 15 mins for tea cake and had to go ask where it was. Was told they had had 8 orders for toast hence delay. Sorry but surely they have more than one toaster. Free small late given as compensation. Staff pleasant and area clean tidy and good decor. 3* given as delay in toast and £8 for 2 coffee and toast. I know places need to make a profit, but this is just too expensive for what it was. If you are spendthrifty, you will not be disappointed.

As regular customers we noticed some increase in food prices following the refurbishment which probably could be expected. A Sunday lunch visit so 25 minute wait for our food probably reasonable. My wife's soup was lovely but I had fish and chips and didn't fare as well. No problem with the chips but the fish was so overcooked that it was barely edible. I would have sent it back but that would have meant another wait while my wife finished her soup and I would then eat alone also. Should have saved the fish rather than struggle to eat it as my shoes do need re-soling.

My wife and I have just been in for coffee and a scone. A surly young lady was on the counter, to take our order. Scraped up hair, heavily made up and permanently pouting. It took her all her time to speak to us, and take our order. No 'hello'... no ' how can I help you' ...just a glare.Very unfriendly. Which is a shame, because all of the other staff are really friendly. Obviously no one has told her how to behave to customers. Really miserable.Whilst eating our scones I saw that she behaved like this with every customer. Come on Victoria Garden Centre......train her up.On a lighter note.......the small ones were delicious........the best in the area.

We have had lunch here fairly often in the past and have been satisfied but today's visit was a disappointment. We both ordered the special menu of braised beef and mashed potatoes. My husband preordered apple crumble and cream for dessert and asked if he wanted it serving after his main which he said he did.The cafe was very quiet but it acually took half an hour or maybe more for our meals to arrive. Although my husband thought the main course was OK, I found my beef to be dry. To me it was more like roast beef with a sauce added later than beef braised in the sauce.Once the mains were finished we assumed that the dessert would be brought to the table. After about 15 minutes this hadn't happened and so my husband went to the counter and asked. Another 15 minutes or so passed at which point a waitress noticed that we were still waiting and went into the kitchen to hurry things along. She returned with apple crumble and custard rather than cream. We could have sent this back but at this point we didn't really fancy waiting even longer. We asked if there was a problem causing the slow service but other than a slow kitchen there didn't seem to be a reason for such long waits in what was a very quiet cafe.We were offered drinks as an apology for the wait but to be honest we just wanted to get on with the rest of our afternoon.Other customers were also commenting on the slow service so we were by no means the only ones kept waiting.I'm afraid we have removed the cafe from our list of regular lunch venues.

Popped in for some Christmas gifts and visited the cafe. Food was cold, when I complained it did not go down well! staff were so so busy it was chaotic. I have been at quieter times and it's less stressful but when busy it feels less than friendly.Expensive for what is served but not bad quality.

We came last year for tea with Santa thought we would try Breakfast this year. We arrived around 8.10am and, after a little confusion with one staff member, were let into the restaurant at 8.15am for the 8.30am start. Father Christmas arrived to the ringing of a bell which got all the children excited and he went to every table making time to chat to the families Santa was beyond fantastic! He was extremely realistic in the way he was dressed, how he spoke, how he approached the children, he even showed a keen interest in what they had to say, giving them plenty of time to talk. However there is a downfall which was the lack of communication from all staff the children were all seated at a table which was in the main restaurant, in amongst other people having food. I felt this was poorly done, a table cloth and cracker doesn't make up for the lack of privacy and dos the make it feel special or even Christmassy. Last year’s Tea was so well presented the adults dressed up as elf’s (none of this was done this year). Reindeer food, key etc was on the table last year (yet again nothing this year) Over-all we were incredibly disappointed and certainly wouldn't recommend anyone to go see Santa, especially if they want to keep the magic of Christmas alive for their children. I'm gutted that I wasted my money and exposed my children to such a false and fake experience. Especially when we had such a wonderful time last year.

Called in today. How you can charge £2.60 for what you serve as a latté and cappuccino is beyond me. It shouldn't be allowed! I was told by the Manager after Christmas 15 was being sent to London for Barista training?? and on being told I would be sending an e-mail regarding the coffees her reply...... " well they won't do anything" Maybe a course in customer care wouldn't go amiss either!

Since Nottcuts took this garden centre over the quality has gone downhill. The shop sells a mixture of quality goods with poor quality goods but everything is too expensive. The Christmas displays are nothing like they used to be - not special anymore. The cafe is disappointing as well - a latte costs just under £3 and is very poor....not made the barista way with milk. It was just as if made with water. We would have complained if the cafe wasn't so busy. There was a 20 minute wait just to get 3 toasted teacakes. Won't be going there again. The only positive is I am a wheelchair user and the parking and access is good.

A gardeners paradise and everything you would need all under one roof. Be aware that it is expensive in all sections. At present they are preparing for winter and their Christmas display which is always worth a look. There is a cafe with plenty of choices but again it is quite pricey. The food is okay but nothing special, however the cream tea is very nice. Worth a visit if you are in the vicinity.

The Christmas display is always good and well planned. It's so popular at weekends that parking in the spacious parking area is always a problem if you don't arrive early.Christmas decorations and accessories are quite original and prices are reasonable. The cafe is always popular and I've read some reviews about extortionate prices and poor quality food. I wouldn't say the food is cheap but never had a problem with quality and very concerned about these comments, as the management/owners should be. Sincerely hope this is put right as this is, or has been, one of the better garden centres I've visited.
