Came here with some friends for dinner during nottingham restaurant week and had a great time, the food is delicious and the service was great! Will come back for sure!

This place is amazing! My friend and I went for dinner and I cannot recommend it enough. I was able to have a starter, curry and a rice for £15. All of which was delicious. The service was great. The staff were super friendly and knew the menu well. We went pretty early on a Thursday so didn't get to experience much of the atmosphere but the decor was lovely.

We love Viva!! The food, staff and restaurant are all lovely, we usually go at least once a month and the food is brilliant every time. The deal that they have on throughout the week is great value and we couldn’t recommend Viva enough :)

We visited for dinner on a Saturday. Steady stream of customers but no wait for a table. Service was excellent and had a family feel. We waited no longer than 3 minutes for our drinks and no longer than 15 for our food. The food tasted excellent and very authentic. Highly recommend, they deserve more customers

Stopped here on a whim. Was kind of craving Indian and they had an early dinner special where you get to choose one appetizer and an entree for a set price. My choices of the samosa and the lamb saag could not have been more delicious. The spice level was absolutely perfect, the presentation was lovely, the restaurant was charming, and the service was exceptional. 10/10, and I am pretty particular about my Indian cuisine.

Always suspect about tapas but this was top level food

I recently dined at this Indian restaurant in Nottingham city Centre and was blown away by the amazing quality of the food, the delicious taste, and the impeccable service. Chicken Tikka we tried was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. All the chat items gave a perfect Mumbai chat vibes. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure our dining experience was top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant for a memorable Indian dining experience in Nottingham.

I'm not going to comment on the food. The main reason for this review is what I assume was the owners bad attitude towards a queue of people queueing up to get into a different business (the queue was there for 10 minutes). The guy kept complaining about the queue being in front of his business (on a public path, even when a gap was left - still found time to complain, seemed very entitled. I hope this review gives you some time to reflect & learn from this.

Excellent tasty food & friendly service.

Me and my wife been there with our little daughter amazing starters and nice chicken biryani also our servers panja and puta were amazing too will be back soon.

For a small platter, it wasn't worth the price and the amount for 2 people. Both me and my partner agreed. They offered a complimentary food on the house

We put in a booking request and the response we received back was very curt, barely a full sentence, saying they would be closed. Nothing came up when we filled the booking form to say we couldn't request that date. They also don't even let you request a booking unless you agree to their marketing emails.

Indian tapas restaurant in Nottingham - provides a sharing menu as well. I gave three stars because I felt it was average Indian cuisine in Nottingham and I thought it was slightly above average prices for the portion sizes. All the small plates we ordered served 2 people which we struggled with as we were a party of 3 so we had to awkwardly divide things. Food came out quickly and service was average. Service charge is included on the bill. I probably wouldn’t rush back, merely because I think we have lots of options in Nottingham but it’s certainly worth a try and I would add that my fellow diners really enjoyed it so everyone has a different taste.

This is one of our favourite places to eat out in Nottingham. Every option on the menu is fantastic; especially the Bang Bang Cauliflower! The staff are always friendly and attentive and we're never waiting long for the food to come out. There is plenty of choice for vegans too.

Had the lunch meal deal consisting of a side dish a curry and rice for £15 was some of the best dishes I've had in quite a while well worth the money and pleasent and friendly staff

Was expecting big things but totally left disappointed, food not even Tesco ready meal standard chicken dry and hard service very slow , Nottingham got some amazing food places this certainly not one of them, only went here as Bar iberico busy wish would of waited fir table there , spent £75 on food that you could get better standard at Weatherspoons

The food was in very small portions and very dry (This is for the meat). The naan bread was also quite hard. I did not appreciate the service, I felt forced to order more food than I wanted and being asked aggressively to decide on drinks. Also felt rushed to leave. The place was not up to standards and I will not recommend it.

Very expensive for what you get. Food is very good thou. Service charge No thanks.

Lovely meal lots of variety and was super tasty! Friendly staff!

A truly horrible experience. Booked a table for 7.30 and was told to wait outside as they had no tables free. Was asked for the name of my booking then told I had to show my email from them confirming my booking. Waited as others got sat before us as different waiters dealt with different customers. Sat down and within 2 minutes were asked if we are ready to order. Waited over an hour for food with no updates on the delay or apologies for having to chase up our order. When the food did arrive some of it was warm and other parts cold, meaning that it had been sat around outback for a while. Food have no taste or flavour what so all. Will not be returning here again.

Bit quiet when I arrived but I was early. Staff and food were lovely

We ate here recently on a Saturday night. We were chatting to the girl that was serving us and she was telling us it was her first day. She was lovely and so helpful. But the way she was treated by other staff was not good. This made it really awkward as a lot of the staff conversations were had next to our table. We felt very awkward. That aside, the food was really good and we really enjoyed it. There was a service charge put on the bill and this did not state if it was optional. Due to the awkwardness, we wanted to take rbis off but felt we couldn’t ask.

Very kind staff, in a cosy place. They did everything to comfort us. Food was simple and delicious.

We ordered four dishes which were chicken tikka, bang bang cauliflower, spring rolls and tikka salmon. We asked if we could have some poppadoms with our order which didn’t arrive. They also forgot our keema nan. When the food arrived, the tikka chicken tasted like it wasn’t fully cooked and the remainder of the food was pretty bland. The tikka salmon was also extremely salty and we could really taste much else other than the salt. We felt it was important to pass this on and give an honest opinion for the benefit of those who are thinking of going.

I can safely say that ViDa is one of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham. Each time I’ve visited, the food has been delicious and the service excellent - if you haven’t visited the new lace market location already, I’d definitely recommend. The set menu and paneer rolls are to die for.

First of all the service is quick and the staff are very friendly. The food is great! We got the sharing platter for two and it’s worth the money, it’s really high quality, and there’s some left over for lunch too. Their new location has lots of seating. Overall, if I was choosing between Mowgli (still very good) and Viva while in lace market, I would definitely go for Viva Indian tapas.

The food was nice, although 2 tables in the restaurant occupied, took 40 minutes for food to arrive. Bring a jumper! We was both so cold. Had our jackets on! Think we ate and left within 15 minutes as we was over being cold.

We tried the newly opened restaurant on Pelham Street after eating at the Hockley restaurant several times. The food was delicious and the new restaurant is much more spacious. Would highly recommend the bang bang cauliflower and the paneer makhni

This is a lovely little restaurant in the city centre. It has a great ambience and the staff are always friendly and helpful. However, the food is sensational! I've taken many of their dishes and they've all been superb! My daughter loves the butter chicken, so this deserves a special mention. Finally, thank you to Ishita for looking after us so well on our last visit.

I don't say this often but that was by far the best meal I have ever had! Quirky little restaurant with more seating upstairs and a tiny little kitchen. The meal came out in separate dishes and it all looks beautiful and tasted incredible. The spice was just right but the flavours were stunning. Me and my friend were just silent as we both agreed it was that good! Wait times were short and staff were lovely! I'm gobsmacked how some reviews are lower than a 5 star. I will be making a 100 mile round trip just to come back here. Thank you

I visited Viva Indian Tapas in Hockley yesterday with some of my friends, and it was fantastic. This cozy little restaurant serves authentic Indian food that truly hits the spot. Every dish was delicious, and the flavors were amazing. The ambiance added to the experience, with a warm, welcoming vibe, and the service was top-notch. Prices were also quite reasonable for the quality. Overall, we had a wonderful time, and we’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Indian dining experience!

Food was amazing. Came to the table quite quickly and good quality and tasty dishes. The place lacks atmosphere and the staff were borderline unfriendly. Not a smile between them. We almost felt like an inconvenience to them. Dishes are quite expensive and the beer was served in a can. Not what you expect for £6.90! Won’t be back. They have too much good competition

We visited Vi-va Indian Tapas to try out their lunchtime offer: Two Indian tapas plates + rice, and a drink for just £15. Our meal began with vibrant glasses of mango lassi, followed by: 🌱 Vegan Set: Bang bang cauliflower, Punjabi Choley, and rice 🌱 Veggie Set: Samosa chaat, Paneer makhni, and rice The flavors were delightful, particularly the vegan options. The Bang bang cauliflower was outstanding, while the Paneer makhni was a bit on the sweeter side for my personal taste, it was still enjoyable. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring you leave fully satisfied. Service was quick, and the ambiance was enhanced by Bollywood tunes playing in the background. ❤️

The whole experience was 5* we had a sharing platter for two and it was perfectly presented, packed with flavour and plenty of. The service was brilliant and efficient. Very friendly staff. The music was very fitting and relaxing. We would definitely recommend and be returning

Looovvveeee. Literally was only supposed to be getting a pastry from a nearby store but the smell from Vi-Va was too enticing. My friends and I had to go in and we were not disappointed at all! The food was sooo goooddddd. Absolutely loved it! Definitely a new fav spot in Notts and will definitely be going back! NOTE: the “platters for two” prices are written as a per person price. It is not the total price written on the menu. I thought I spent around £50 but I spent more than £100 but it was worth it! You’ve been warned haha.

Cosy place with very good food. Found myself wolfing down basmati rice just because it was so pleasant. I can definitely recommend the railway potato curry, the potatoes were wonderfully tender without losing their bite. The naan is hot and fresh and slightly buttery. The amritsari fish was wonderfully moist and the batter slightly fragrant and soft which complemented the rice beautifully.

The Bang Bang cauliflower was beautifully tasty and crispy, would definitely have again. The fish Amritsari was so incredibly soft and tender, the batter light and crispy, and the sauce fresh...to die for!! Both the Highway butter chicken and Bhuna lamb gosht were divine, the meat tender and the sauce was full of favour, amazing! The samosa chaat I could have had twice over, crispy and scrumptious! The rice was fab and the naan was one of the best I've ever had!! The service was impeccable, smiles and speedy without feeling rushed. Highly recommend and will definitely be making this a regular for us!!

Such a lovely welcome on our first visit to Nottingham. Incredibly fresh and tasty food in this laid back eatery. We had the vegan meal for two which meant we didn’t have to choose - just eat! Just what we needed to relax with really friendly staff. We will definitely come back!

A group of us made an unplanned stop here Friday night and it went really well. Service was friendly and at a good pace. All the food was great, a highlight for me was the Chilli Paneer Rolls.

Ishita was very polite and paid attention to our order, she greeted when we arrived , we were in a rush to they made sure the service was prompt. We had dahi puri bombs would recommend it, The bang bang cauliflower nice , could use little less sauce Chicken tikka was well cooked and tender.

The service was commendable, with a special mention to Pankaj for his genuine care for customers. The restaurant offers a small yet inviting atmosphere. The Garlic Chilli Chicken was exceptional, though the Dahi Puri Bombs fell a bit short of expectations.

Offers a great variety of more unusual Indian food and I loved the tapas concept as it meant you could try lots of different items. It's lovely for a small group of diners and I would definitely go back.

It was absolutely lovely, the food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. We sat outside and it was very atmospheric. But best of all was the service, we had this wonderful waitress who was attentive and lovely throughout.

We didn’t have a nice experience. The food was very bad. Everything felt readymade and like tin food. The naan was so hard and not edible. The taste wasn’t authentic Indian. Very bland. The service was not that great either. Above all of that, for such mediocre food and service, the price was very high. There are so many good restaurants nearby for lesser price and with much better quality and taste.

Found Vi-Va when we'd bed to the Broadway cinema and we're looking for something Gluten Free near as my partner is coeliac. I can't believe we've never found it before as the owner said they'd been there 4 years! It's a small venue, but the food and service were amazing and just dishes were GF, (obviously not the breads). No beer on tap, but plenty of cans to go with the food. Would recommend.
