FANTASTIC PLACE The food is incredible and the staff very sweet. With all the competition in Nottingham, I'm so pleased this place has kept going. They really make an effort with the food: Refreshingly different from your average curry house. Great place, amazing food, GO THERE!

We visited Vi-va Indian Tapas to try out their lunchtime offer: Two Indian tapas plates + rice, and a drink for just £15. Our meal began with vibrant glasses of mango lassi, followed by: 🌱 Vegan Set: Bang bang cauliflower, Punjabi Choley, and rice 🌱 Veggie Set: Samosa chaat, Paneer makhni, and rice The flavors were delightful, particularly the vegan options. The Bang bang cauliflower was outstanding, while the Paneer makhni was a bit on the sweeter side for my personal taste, it was still enjoyable. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring you leave fully satisfied. Service was quick, and the ambiance was enhanced by Bollywood tunes playing in the background. ❤️

The whole experience was 5* we had a sharing platter for two and it was perfectly presented, packed with flavour and plenty of. The service was brilliant and efficient. Very friendly staff. The music was very fitting and relaxing. We would definitely recommend and be returning

Looovvveeee. Literally was only supposed to be getting a pastry from a nearby store but the smell from Vi-Va was too enticing. My friends and I had to go in and we were not disappointed at all! The food was sooo goooddddd. Absolutely loved it! Definitely a new fav spot in Notts and will definitely be going back! NOTE: the “platters for two” prices are written as a per person price. It is not the total price written on the menu. I thought I spent around £50 but I spent more than £100 but it was worth it! You’ve been warned haha.

Cosy place with very good food. Found myself wolfing down basmati rice just because it was so pleasant. I can definitely recommend the railway potato curry, the potatoes were wonderfully tender without losing their bite. The naan is hot and fresh and slightly buttery. The amritsari fish was wonderfully moist and the batter slightly fragrant and soft which complemented the rice beautifully.

We had a sharer platter to start, 2 mains, rice and naan more than enough food and all delicious. Our waiter Pankaj was very friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to come back!

The Bang Bang cauliflower was beautifully tasty and crispy, would definitely have again. The fish Amritsari was so incredibly soft and tender, the batter light and crispy, and the sauce fresh...to die for!! Both the Highway butter chicken and Bhuna lamb gosht were divine, the meat tender and the sauce was full of favour, amazing! The samosa chaat I could have had twice over, crispy and scrumptious! The rice was fab and the naan was one of the best I've ever had!! The service was impeccable, smiles and speedy without feeling rushed. Highly recommend and will definitely be making this a regular for us!!

Such a lovely welcome on our first visit to Nottingham. Incredibly fresh and tasty food in this laid back eatery. We had the vegan meal for two which meant we didn’t have to choose - just eat! Just what we needed to relax with really friendly staff. We will definitely come back!

No complaints! Tasty meal, its great that you get to try a variety of dishes. The goan fish curry and kale and onion pakoras were stand out choices!

A group of us made an unplanned stop here Friday night and it went really well. Service was friendly and at a good pace. All the food was great, a highlight for me was the Chilli Paneer Rolls.

Ishita was very polite and paid attention to our order, she greeted when we arrived , we were in a rush to they made sure the service was prompt. We had dahi puri bombs would recommend it, The bang bang cauliflower nice , could use little less sauce Chicken tikka was well cooked and tender.

The service was commendable, with a special mention to Pankaj for his genuine care for customers. The restaurant offers a small yet inviting atmosphere. The Garlic Chilli Chicken was exceptional, though the Dahi Puri Bombs fell a bit short of expectations.

Offers a great variety of more unusual Indian food and I loved the tapas concept as it meant you could try lots of different items. It's lovely for a small group of diners and I would definitely go back.

Gorgeous food. We had the vegan tapas set menu for 2 and it was great. Portions are big, so we've brought some leftovers home. Nice atmosphere and staff are attentive. Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday in Nottingham! Can't believe this place isn't busier Would come back again:)

We didn’t have a nice experience. The food was very bad. Everything felt readymade and like tin food. The naan was so hard and not edible. The taste wasn’t authentic Indian. Very bland. The service was not that great either. Above all of that, for such mediocre food and service, the price was very high. There are so many good restaurants nearby for lesser price and with much better quality and taste.

It was absolutely lovely, the food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. We sat outside and it was very atmospheric. But best of all was the service, we had this wonderful waitress who was attentive and lovely throughout.

Found Vi-Va when we'd bed to the Broadway cinema and we're looking for something Gluten Free near as my partner is coeliac. I can't believe we've never found it before as the owner said they'd been there 4 years! It's a small venue, but the food and service were amazing and just dishes were GF, (obviously not the breads). No beer on tap, but plenty of cans to go with the food. Would recommend.

Service was fine, atmosphere was good enough, nice and quiet. The food however was a bit of a bad miss. The rice was very dry, even had some grains that felt uncooked, possibly been left out uncovered for too long, the bigger pieces of the bang bang cauliflower was uncooked and rock hard and the railway curry I ordered was a very small portion. The worst bit for me is everything had a garnish of coriander (which I hate the taste of) so I had to pick it off. To drink I ordered an apple juice, it was from concentrate. After all this they included a 10% automatically, I had to ask for it to be removed, they did and knocked £4 for the meal, over all very poor quality.

Terrible food! Naan was rock solid, butter chicken was somehow dry, and wasn't actually proper chicken either but chicken filler, the kind you get in cheap store bought ready meals. Genuinely gross. Go somewhere else. Overpriced, store bought, insult to India.

Went to Viva yesterday for our one year anniversary. The food was delicious and we were very satisfied. We have been to many Indian restaurants and this place was definitely one of the best we have visited. Would 100% recommend it to a friend.

Absolutely fantastic food. I am not a huge fan of Indian food however this was soooooo good!!! Great value for money. We had the chilli paneer, saag paneer, bang bang cauliflower, prawn starter and railway potato curry. Our friends had meat dishes and said they were tasty! Charmi was our server and she was very attentive and approachable.

Had an amazing dinner with my friends today and was served by Pankaj upon arrival. He is a fantastic server and asset to the business. Charged my phone for me and gave fantastic recommendations. Catered to all our requests and checked up on throughout the night. Recommend the garlic chicken and butter chicken 100 and poppadoms

First time trying this place with my Dad last Friday evening. Managed to book on their website and was confirmed really quickly. Didn’t really know what to expect but the staff were fab, menu and drinks reasonably priced and food was AMAZING! We both left far too full but we simply couldn’t stop as the favours and tastes were so nice! Special mention to the two young female servers - they were so pleasant and attentive. Cant wait to come back again!

What a surprise such a great Indian tapas restaurant. It's very small with tables on two levels, watch those steep staircases. The food was so nice from the set menu for two to individual plates. Small plates of food but so filling. Service was quick and brilliant. Give it a go.

Lovely find in the back streets of Nottingham that serves truly authentic Indian street food with a smile. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable and the team have got the service quality spot on. Indian pickles taste like home made North Indian variety, the rice is perfectly cooked and dal tadka is soul satisfying . The views over the street are just right without overwhelming . Tea served in street style cup is a nice touch. Walking distance of Victoria Car park . 10/10 and would visit again !

Food was great. It was full of spices and flavour. The restaurant was cosy and sweet. The only problem we had was how rude the waitress was despite our kindness and respectful demeanour towards how she was shooing us out picking up every dish without asking if it was finished, not letting us pay separately etc. The food arrives a bit late too but I believe that is due to understaffing and how small the kitchen was.

I have tried both the vegan and meat versions of the Set Meal for 2 and was not disappointed! Tasty, perfect amount of food & welcoming staff. Would visit again.

Food was bland for the price , I had hardly ate anything until my meal here and the next day I was throwing up for 6 hours straight with food poising.

Went in to try the samosa chaat! Extremely underwhelming - its those triangle pastry type samosas which were super disappointing. The filling was not at all spicy sadly. Also the waitress asked us if we wanted cutlery to eat the dish which strange... it's a wet dish.

So good that we keep coming back. Always great food and pleasant service, with a chilled out atmosphere.

Came here having read the reviews. The door was open so it was cold. Felt rushed because we were not allowed to order starters then main this meant the food got cold quick. The naan was served hard and burnt. ( so they didn't charge us for one of them- however would never have been expected to be served burnt naan). Got the bill without asking if we wanted anything else! Not the worst but not thef best. Very small inside so probably not for big groups. Also the stairs are very steep so not ideal for anyone with walking difficulties. This should be mentioned as my mum struggled and we had to walk into a very busy bar nearby!

My takeaway crispy cauliflower, tamarind and chilli sauce chapati was fabulous.Cooked to order and wrapped in paper and a foil bag with napkin. Great vibe in the place.

Food was average , we ordered chai , samosa chat .. chai was just hot water nothing else no taste nothing… samosa chat .. they used frozen packed samose .. to be honest i will not suggest anyone to go there

One of the depressing and pathetic taste of India. Seen 4.3 star and felt like going. Tea is completely British tea only named as indian masala chai, no milk, no masala, no sugar no taste. Same frozen Tesco samosa , extremely salted fries. Paneer rolls were basically spring rolls. I would never ever recommend it to anyone. God bless the restaurant 🙏

Cannot fault the food, great taste, great variety, love the system of tapas Indian so that you get to try loads of different types of food and flavours. It is a smallish place but service was swift and staff happy to help. Will recommend to everyone.

This place is so lovely! Great atmosphere, lovely old building and lovely decoration. Food selection is great. We had several tapas style dishes and all were great. Staff were superb! Definitely give this a go. I love it!

Coming from an Indian background. This is by far one of the best home style curry. Tried it once and will be back again. Garlic chilli chicken curry was my favourites

Visited Nottingham recently and tried food from Viva their set menu was finger licking .

The food, the ambience and the service were all simply amazing. It’s cosy and just perfect for a fulfilling meal.

The food was tasty but overpriced (£7.95 for 4 prawns??) Within a couple of hours of eating here, I started to feel incredibly ill. Prior to eating here, I’d only eaten a croissant (at home) this day and I’m 100% sure it wasn’t that that made me ill. I spent the next 21 hours sprinting to the bathroom. I racked up a total of 2 hours sleep that night and had to take the next day off work as I couldn’t be away from a bathroom. Do NOT recommend eating here. Update: Contacted the restaurant via phone to advise them of the situation and politely suggest they have a look at their prawn storage method/prep etc. as I would not wish this food poisoning on anyone. The man I spoke with did apologise but then just kept repeating the fact that the dishes are made to order and didn’t really answer my questions.
