Visited with some friends for food. The food itself was nice although service was a bit slow even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. The restaurant is connected to a Premier Inn

My go to place, great offers, excellent food.

Yet another great meal here with equally great service-the "Old Fashioned" cocktails are excellent & at 2 for a tenner you cannot go wrong. Prawns excellent,steak excellent drinks excellent so thank you to the staff,chef's & management alike. Table 18 booked for 7pm Sat 7th Oct -seated promptly & looked after very well even though they were busy. We will always use this fabulous restaurant right in the middle of Nottingham.

Fantastic steaks and cocktails. Ordered a fillet and it was perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful and patient while we asked a million questions about the cocktails trying to pick which we wanted. We’ll definitely be back.

Had a fantastic birthday bash with family, the ribeye steak was cooked to perfection

Came in for my 21st birthday, staff were really friendly and food was amazing, they even put a birthday banner on the table and gave us a brownie at the end.

Got told at 845 it was last drinks orders despite not havong our food. Got given the bill and basically was told to drink up and get out at 915. Spent 200 quid but they didnt care. Really poor. We booked here on a sunday because google says its open til 1030. Didnt get offered deserts and basically got told to get out. Poor

Alan, our server, was absolutely amazing! He provided top-notch service and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place for a nice dinner. I highly recommend You won't be disappointed! 🥩🍽️

This was my first time visiting bar and block as I live in Leicester and the food and service was superb, the atmosphere is really nice everyone always has a smile on their face, I will defiantly be coming here again all the mangers are wonderful!

We have visited this restaurant around 6/7 times. On one occasion a while ago I had cause to say that the food wasn't a good meal, we had the steak sampler, we could not tell the difference between the sirloin, rump or fillet steaks. I spoke to the waitress who was very understanding and I couldn't fault her, she basically removed our whole bill which we were very impressed by. We have then visited a couple of times since, however, we visited this weekend again and when asked by the waitress I had to say that the food wasn't good, the steak was well cooked but poor quality and the chips were undercooked. She arranged for the manager to speak to me. I spoke to the young man at the bar and explained the issue and he said that all I do everytime I visit is complain. Totally stunned by what he said I was speechless. He said that as soon as he saw my details come up he knew I was going to complain!! I told him exactly where I sat when I had cause to explain that the food wasn't good enough. He said that isn't true and I complain everytime. Totally wrong. At this point I asked my wife to listen to what he was saying and she was amazed by what he said to us. I had to take her out as she was getting upset. If I complained everytime why would I keep going? So once I have mentioned that the food wasn't good enough does that mean that my card is marked? It appears so. As a business owner myself, the young guy who spoke to me needs a lot of retraining on how to deal with people because if I dealt with my customers like that I wouldn't have any left. I didn't want to write this review as I messaged Whitbread directly but 5 days later still haven't received a reply. Hopefully someone will read this and take action and improve the customer experience. Obviously I have been blackballed from this restaurant for having the gall to say that the food was substandard on one occasion. I will stick to independent businesses in future who actually care, sadly had to said.

We always seem to end up here for family birthday gatherings. This time we all opted to try the Sunday roast, I have always been hesitant as I love a good carvery... However I was not disappointed at all, don't think I will go to a carvery ever again. I chose the ultimate and the food was amazing, maybe slight overcook on the broccoli but who cares when everything else was perfect. Waiting staff were great and accommodating especially with us having an overtired baby and a ferel 6 year old 😊 Thank you to everyone we will see you at the next birthday get together 😊👍

The food was excellent, their garlic oil dip on the side is great, my Ribeye steak was cooked perfect medium and the fries were nice and crispy and soft. The waiters are very friendly too, definitely one of my favourite places to eat now.

Table booked 3pm Thursday dec 28th. We arrived, waited in the lobby, nobody came to greet us so we sat at the first table, just inside, the lady served someone at the bar and still didn’t come to us, my husband then went to the bar to get seated. Once seated we were given menus, one of the party has a nut allergy, we were given a booklet to read through, once you have chosen what you would like to eat you have to cross reference it in the booklet, it would be much more helpful for the menu to state the allegy information . Order for 4 meals placed, we waited for 30mins, which seemed a long time as it wasn’t busy at all. Two steaks ordered, when the waitress took the order, we asked what was included, basically everything is extra bar the fries. We paid £4 each for mushrooms, we had to pay for salad. I ordered a portion of garlic prawns, which I think were £6, when they arrived there was 2 prawns!! Onion rings were extra. The food was nice, but I do feel that you should get a plateful of food when paying nearly £30 each.

Visited here at lunch on the premise it was a steak restaurant and the pictures and reviews looked great. Lunch menu very limited and there was only one steak on the menu which read as though it was a quick cook minute steak. Wasn’t as expected and we left. Can’t comment on the food as I didn’t dine due to the limited menu choice. Would not recommend for lunch. The staff however were friendly and accommodating perhaps visit in the evening if it’s a steak you’re after. Given the name I was surprised at the lunch menu!

We had a lovely dinner, food was delicious and the staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately, at the end of our meal we paid and left a small tip of a few quid (there was no service charge recommend on the bill). The waitress serving us walked away and remarked sarcastically ‘wow… i can buy a small red bull with this’. As a waitress myself i thought this was very rude and sadly left a bad taste about the entire experience as this was our first meal out in almost a year.

Visited Sunday 22nd October, food was lovely and great value but there was only one or two servers in the whole restaurant. This lead to them being stressed and running round and our wait time was higher. When we got round to being served it was faultless, need more staff!!

We work only a few minutes away from here and I’ve driven past it so many times, always noticed the LED cow from the road but never actually visited. We visited spontaneously after work one night this week and loved it. The food was incredible, the mocktail drinks were really flavoursome and the atmosphere was really relaxed. Freya stood out as her service was just phenomenal. She made some great recommendations, had a good laugh and just made the experience really memorable. I’d be happy if she served us in every bar and restaurant we went to. She really is an asset. Message for Freya - don’t be afraid to ask for tips off customers, you deserve them. Definitely one of the best places in Nottingham to have a good steak. However, we felt the service was a bit rushed. I don't know whether this was due to the time when we arrived (8.30pm) or the service has deteriorated over the years.
