Annie's Burger Shack & Freehouse in Nottingham

Went with friends last weekend for brunch. I have a Gluten allergy and made them aware of this on arrival and was provided with a Gluten Minimal Menu. Despite being seated fairly quickly it took them a while to come and take our drinks order even though it was not particularly busy at the time. I ordered the Breakfast Burger which I noted differed on the Gluten Minimal Menu to the main menu in that the sausage patty was replaced with corned beef, presumably because the sausage patty contained gluten. When the breakfast burger arrived it had a sausage patty on it, I queried with the waiting staff and was advised they were sure it was Gluten free but they would check. When she came back with other orders for the table I asked her if she had checked and she said yes it was gluten free. As the sausage patty was not on the gluten minimal menu I asked her to check again as I was unsure as to why it was not on the gluten minimal menu if it was gluten free. At this point a different member of wait staff came over to tell me that it was not gluten free and she would take away the meal I had been served and get me another one, I asked them not to bother as I had lost any trust in them that the food I would be given would be safe for me to eat as the previous waitress did not seem to know what was gluten free. This is the second time this has happened in this restaurant and previously when we went for dinner, they removed the gluten ingredients and returned the burger to me but I had been willing to give them the benefit of the doubt when going for brunch - big mistake. I would not recommend eating here if you have allergies as despite signs all over with allergy reminders this is clearly forgotten as soon as the order gets to the kitchen. My friends that I dined with were also unhappy with their meals, the breakfasts came out cold and were sent back to be replaced, the pancakes that used to be large were now no bigger that the small pancakes you can buy in packets in the supermarket and the coffee served was cold as it was clearly the end of the filter jug and had been sat for a while. Overall not a good experience and we would not return here again.

Food wait was for the best part of an hour my burger was burnt the other 3 burgers were apparently ok.i had the beef gravey as a side which was no more than an I thin watery oxo cube slurry there was also a small selection of ketchup sachets on the table not bad for over £90 for 4 burger and chips. I travel up and down the uk for work and I can with authority say that the male toilets are the most dirtiest bady maintained toilets I have seen im sorry to say that I felt Annie's burgers are taking the customers for granted and they obviously feel that keeping the toilets in that state was acceptable, this kind of neglect doesn't happen overnight and you know what they say ' if you want to know the cleanliness of the kitchens look at the toilets ' unfortunately the manager got a stern telling off from me with few choice words being said all of which was water of a ducks back,to make matters worse these are for staff use as well have a think about that!

What has happened to this place. Used to be fantastic. Not anymore! Two of us went on Thursday night and the place was empty. Burgers were underwhelming but edible. We decided to try again and 6 of us went on Sunday for Brunch. The food was cold, burnt and inedible. The once huge fluffy pancakes were the size of tea cups and I’ve never seen a thinner waffle. The most worrying thing tho was despite signs everywhere and being asked if you have any food intolerance one of our party who has a GF intolerance was served a sausage patty that was not on the GF menu despite asking twice if it was gluten free and being told yes, it turns out it actually it wasn’t. Will not be back.

A great place for burgers. There's 30+ different burger options, plus a couple of different hotdogs to choose from, so you'll probably find something you haven't tried before. We've had both beef and chicken burgers from here before, and they've been delicious. They had a good range of beers as well, with craft beers from Brixton, Camden and Goose Island, plus several lager options. The milkshakes are also quite special, with the option to add alcohol to it to add another flavour (we tried the Nutella chocolate milkshake which Cointreau is added to).

This place used to be decent, but no more. Everything was cold. My burger had a soggy 'tortilla' basket on it with a wedge of dry congealed rice, some tasteless mexican type things and, for some reason, olives. The burger was covered in an unpleasant sauce and was essentially tasteless. The waiting staff who dealt with us seemed nice, enough, but whoever's in charge of the kitchen clearly doesn't give a toss. Avoid.

Used to love Annie's for breakfast but with there reduced menu has brought reduced quality of food and terrible service had the bottomless coffee and had to beg for refills waffles were tough half pancakes missing from breakfast no cream cheese with french toast no apologies so no tip from us, accept get more staff that actually care, very disappointed. Wasn't even busy

Really tasty burgers with a variety of toppings. Really worth your while visiting as the selections of toppings are well thought out and diverse. Good value for money as the portions are big and the prices haven’t changed in over five years. There are options for vegans and vegetarians and people allergic to dairy. Staff are very friendly and so is the owner. Would always come back here. The staff however need improvement.

Visited as a one off on our recent trip into notts! Not somewhere I'd go again! Took ages to get served Then pretty quick with the food but forgot the side order! Then took ages for us to pay for our food! Food was ok for what it was The steins are the best bit! Just be prepared to wait if you feel like trying it!

The worst place I have eaten! I have been here a few times 2022 was absolutely fantastic! Since then, absolutely awful! I will never go again! Ever! Disgusting!!

I've been to Annie's many many times over the years and it used to be the best. I visited with a friend last weekend and I cannot believe how downhill it's gone. We had the special waffle'roni chicken burger and it was tiny. There was a time when Annie's burgers were so epic you couldn't even look at the fries you were so full. Yet today I actually left still hungry. The chicken was overcooked, the waffle wasn't homemade but what looked like a freezer waffle. And it had the smallest portion of mac n cheese on top. Nothing like the pictures on social media. Sadly, reading other reviews it seems like I'm not alone. So disappointing, I used to look forward to a trip to Annie's but I don't think I'll be back.

Really enjoyed our 1st visit here. The choice of burgers was staggering, which does causes a stressful FOMO if you pick the wrong one. Thankfully, we did choose wisely and had a great meal. Would certainly visit when we head back to Nottingham in the future.

Everything about this was absolutely awful. I ordered a vegan gluten minimal burger. My burgers was bought to me with a massive plate of cold hard chips that tasted as though they had been kettle vaguely warm all afternoon. A waiter almost immediately appeared to say that my bun was not gluten free. It was taken away and bought back on a gluten free bun, same burger transferred. With all the toppings, this made it look rather messy. I cut into the burger and to my horror, discovered it was a burger made from dead cow. I volunteer in a farmed animal sanctuary and have taken the liberation pledge, meaning I won't even sit at a table where people are consuming animal products, so this was a truly horrific experience. They did bring me a new burger after the person I was eating with had finished theirs. I didn't want to eat alone and the experience had put me off the food. I was shocked that they charged the person I was with full price for their food. We went for a special meal to eat together. Our special meal was spoilt for both of us. Her meal was also cold and seemed to have sat in a warm cabinet for hours. I would never eat here again or recommend it to any one else, especially vegans.

Great food and lots of burger choices in a nice cosy pub with a good atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Superb tasting burger and a nice choice of beers to boot.

Every time I pass through Nottingham I have lunch here, the onion rings are highly recommended. The burgers are outrageous and they have a wide variety of beer

Been many times over the years and always been good. This time I took my youngest before an event at the Arena as a Birthday treat. Table was covered in crumbs and looked dirty, we had it cleaned. We were sat next to a table of drunk lads, swearing and belching loud, thinking they were funny. These idiots spoilt the atmosphere. Food was ok, burgers seemed smaller than on previous visits. Overall it was average, but this night the atmosphere was off and not really pleasant for kids

Booked a table for four at 3pm Sunday afternoon 23rd March 2024. Shown to a very small table near the main door, thinking it's obviously going to get busy....no, the bigger 4 seat tables were never used while we were there. Finally got our food after prompting nearly an hour later. (Please vacate table by 1630 on email booking......) Burgers were all disappointing, as if they'd been sitting for a while, chips were warm at best. My Brother had ordered an extra vegan pattie, he found it to be raw and cold! He complained so they replaced it, without the extra pattie, but it was cooked and it wasn't charged on the bill. Meanwhile the rest of his meal became stone cold. It was extremely disappointing and it was the first bad meal we'd had there. Hopefully this was a one off. We'll be going elsewhere for now.

Booked for 5:15pm on a Saturday having not been here for a good few years. Wow has this gone down hill! Absolutely tiny table we were seated at that was crammed in so tight that the table behind us couldn’t get out with out bumping our table. Right next to the service hatch which is completely inappropriate. Didn’t even bother staying for food with the sticky tables, drinks menus stuck to the table and horrible atmosphere. From the meals we could see being delivered portions sizes have shrunk and prices up. Won’t be returning.

Annie's Burger shack has been a place I've visited only a handful of times and the experience always seems to differ between good and... Meh. On the day we visited, we were quickly seated and our order for drinks was taken. My partner had ordered a milkshake as she was intrigued by their Reese's one with getting myself a root beer. Once the order for the milkshake was taken, the server approached the kitchen window which was right behind us and asked them if they could make the milkshake for her which received the response of them stating 'they couldn't be bothered' but they'd do it for her. My root beer came promptly and the milkshake took some time to arrive, probably 10 minutes before the food itself and for £10 was underwhelming. The Reese's peanut butter taste was barely present and it merely came across as a glorified vanilla milkshake. When ordering our food, the server asked me which type of fries I'd like and whilst attempting to locate them on the menu, I asked her 'what are the options?', rather than tell them to me, she moved the menu to the appropriate page and pointed to them, declaring that 'they are listed here' in a snappy tone. Once our food arrived the fries were hot and crispy and the burgers stacked high. The burgers during this visit felt a little overcooked compared to previous visits and a little dry unfortunately. I added a side of Frank's and beans which has decreased In quality since the last time I had them, with a few pieces of sausage and clearly microwaved beans. It's unfortunate this visit was not as good in comparison to previous visits. I would recommend Annie's Burger Shack for their variety, atmosphere and selection... Visiting results may vary.

Have been several times over the past year. However, my most recent visit (03/04/24) hasnt lived up to my expectations based on my past experiences. The food came out in small groups, and it was clear that the kitchen made a mistake. However, it was never mentioned by the staff. Im most disappointed by the frickles as before they were served in little slices, but this time they were big chunks, the insides were still cold. Additionally, the chicken wings have changed. Previously, they were served bonless and battered, and now they're bone in and not battered (this isn't the problem). The problem is that they were sloppily "covered" in sauce, where some were absolutely swimming in sauce, but others were practically dry, and they also had a weird aftertaste, making it unenjoyable. The server Natasha came off rather rude. She gave us the bill and, 2 minutes later, returned with a card machine without asking whether we were ready to pay.

Admittedly worst service I've ever received. In a nut shell.... - We had to sort ourselves a table out as they didn't give us enough seats or cutlery. - Food arrived (pre ordered) as their was over 10 of us... This arrived before anyone even came to take our drinks order, we had to ask the server who was dishing out the food for drinks - Wait on drinks was 20+ minutes overall and was wrong... Plus ordered a can of Rio they tried to charge for a cocktail and bottomless lemonade.. they never came around again to order more drinks or top up my lemonade so that was a con. - it was a birthday, we had a cake... We had to ask for the cake to come out as... As again we were just waiting way to long and noone even came to empty our table, WE had to stack the trays. - Cake finally arrived, before we even finished singing happy before she asked if we wanted a knife and bowls etc.... obviously we said yes please... A while later she just put a pile of bowls on the table, no knife or spoons. So we had to go find those. Honestly, the service was absolutely shocking! So incredibly poor, they missed out on so much money with us too as my family were practically dying of thirst!! as we had one tiny drink in the space of 2 hours or so Usually big tippers too, they received ZERO! Food- average, small portions and a big price tag Staff - Awful, definitely need some training on how to actually serve customers and not just stand behind the bar gossiping all evening. I did message over on Facebook, but I don't hold much hope as it seems they don't care about their customers. Looking at reviews, seems to be a common issue here. such a shame as it has so much potential to be a great place.

Not been here for a while, used to be my favourite burger place ever since it started up in the navigation pub. Let’s get straight to the point. Burgers have gone downhill, pattys are dry somehow flavourless and overcooked, also noticed the actual size of the buns have shrank.. somewhat like McDonald’s Big Mac… I will now have to find a new place to enjoy burgers. Great place! Went on Good Friday, was really busy, pre booked a table. We got machos to share for starters and then burgers and fries for main. Portions are generous so wouldnt want nachos if not sharing. Service was great even though busy, food was delicious! Ordered the new england and north carolina burger and chicken wings. All were amazing, felt full after. Only thing id say is the tables are really close together, so if you have a pram with you make them aware when you book a table so you can manouver easily!

Annie’s has been around for ages, but I don’t think it’s the best spot for a burger in Nottingham anymore. It has got great big menu with something for everyone though… Areas to improve on: - More attention to dressing the burgers correctly - Burgers are messy - we need more than one tissue each on a table! - The sauces in sachets don’t work - too long to open with greasy hands. - The sauces in disposable paper pots are too weak - small ceramic/metal pots would be better! Our order came out wrong - they took our food, added the missing items and then sent the same food back out - no biggy but kind of amateur! The curly fries were cooked fantastic

What a shame, used to be brilliant, especially for vegetarians & vegans. It has massively dropped in quality since last visiting. Veggie burger changed from their amazing beetroot based burger to a cheap frozen patty. Sloppy and greasy food, onion rings wet through, won't be returning.

For my 21st birthday I tried to book at Annie's. Unfortunately at the time they didn't even have an online booking tool. You had to fill in your details and wait to hear from them. We never did hear from them. Fast forward 15 years and we were due to watch a show in Nottingham, and thought what better time to try again! They still don't have an online booking system, however I was able to call the 'booking line' and get us booked in. We arrived at just after 6.30pm, our show started at 8. We were seated quickly enough and our order taken efficiently. We were surprised that the restaurant had more of a bar feel to it, we were expecting more Hard Rock style. As we sat sipping on our homemade lemonade (which it turned out was the best part of the experience) we noted that there weren't many people eating, and there didn't seem to be much food coming out of the kitchen. My bottomless lemonade was topped up 3 times so I can't fault the attentiveness of our waitress however it got to 7.35pm and we had to pay for our drinks and leave with an empty tummy. Even if our food had of arrived we wouldn't have been able to enjoy it. The waitress was very apologetic however it would have been nice to have a warning on arrival that the expected wait time was over an hour, to give us the choice of sourcing an alternate meal. As it was we ended up having McDonalds at 11.30pm at night, after the show. A few days later I emailed our disappointment, an email which hasn't yet been acknowledged. I can't comment on the food because I'm yet to experience it, maybe I could try again for my 50th?

What a shame, have been a number of times before and it has always been good enough to recommend, today totally different. We arrived and it was not busy so ordered quickly and the food was served quickly also. The food was ok, warm not hot. Half way through eating we wanted drinks but couldn’t see any staff to order and waited another 15 minutes before I approached someone to order and get some milkshakes that were good. We asked for the bill and the bill arrived when a random pint appeared as an apology that we refused as we’re about to leave. Such a shame as was not good value given the average quality of food on this occasion and the male waiter / manager stunk of cigarettes and was more interested in talking to the other staff than the customers. Our daughter wanted to go for her 14th birthday and was happy but the service was shocking today sorry.

First time trying Annie's burger shack and i had the new England burger. The brisket was amazing and the burger was too. We waited around 25 minutes for our food, and the restaurant was full as we came on a Saturday night. Overall great food and service. I will definitely be back.

Went for a bottomless brunch, of the limited menu 2 items were unavailable without warning - unfortunately the only 2 items I wanted. But ever the optimist I carried on. The Breakfast Burger was missing mushroom, which was mentioned on arrival, with a response of “I guess we didn’t have any”. Service was actually a positive point, until we got food and had to go to the bar for further drinks as the only waiting staff decided to focus on the other half of the restaurant. If rumours are true, and this place is closing down it’s no surprise. Avoid at all costs

We've been to Annie's a couple of years ago and the burgers were really good. Tasted great and were large portions. Now the portion sizes are really small. I ordered the braised beef - was not what I expected. Just a couple of pieces of beef in the burger. Would not go again, better alternatives. Food was not hot either, not sure why it's gone down hill

Unfortunately we had to wait 1 hour, which is just way too long for burgers and fries. 3 stars is salvaged by the fact the vegan burger was great. However the fries were a bit soggy and below par in comparison to the burger. Staff were friendly enough but the long wait was just a huge letdown.

Great food. Whilst the manager was attentive and provided great service, the waiting staff did not. At the beginning of the meal we were waiting for someone to arrive and the waiting staff kept continually coming over to ask if we were ready to order even though we had told them we were still waiting for someone. However at the end of our meal we had the opposite problem. Our table was partially cleared, but the staff member never came back to clear the rest, and no one came over to give us the bill. When we tried to get staffs attention they would look away. We eventually went to ask for it the bill and they basically couldn't find it which was odd. Despite the lacking service from the waiting staff, who just seemed like they didn't want to be there we had a good time and the food was very nice.

Terrible customer service. Very average food. Waited one hour to get food served. Not once did the staff told us sorry for the wait. Burgers arrived lukewarm and dry. Chicken wings were not actual wings but boneless goujons because no wings left in the kitchen (no mention of this when we ordered). Don’t believe the hype! Was a Mother’s Day meal totally ruined. Awful, awful place. The sign on the exit door reads “please come back again”, which we will make sure we’ll never do.

The service was awful, rude and slow (apart from one male water who at least managed a smile). The burgers were average and the fries tasteless. The choice of wines is minimal. We went last about 3 years/go when we were impressed by the quality but this was way way below our expectations. Would not go back.

My partner had recommended here from past experiences, however, upon arriving it was clear it had gone downhill. It was scruffy, the onion rings were cold, waitress was rude, burger was pretty average for £15.90 and beer overpriced for such a setting. Chips were good tho 😉 Don't get the hype, definitely wouldn't recommend nor come back again.

I haven’t been to Annie’s Burger Shack in years, but they do say, if you want a proper Burger then this is the place! It was ‘ok’ visit. Not as special as it use to be, sadly. The waitress even said the burgers are not like they used to be. We waited over an hour for our food. People were arriving after us and getting their food in 20 min before us??!! We waited an hour, so as for service, not impressed! Once the food came, it was Devine! Absolutely loved it! If you park in Broadway, they verify for parking for you for £3. A nice vibe, nothing special. Therefore, if you do go, don’t expect too much from the service or atmosphere, but you’ll love the food. 🥘 Thank you for the Annie’s Burger Shack experience. 💫

Good food and excellent service

Wow... This used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham. I was shocked at the service and poor food quality on our visit this evening. The wait for food was long and the staff (the few that were there) were no where to be seen to order from. When the food did arrive I was shocked at how different it was to only a year before. The burger itself reassembled something I'd feed to a dog, it was tasteless and very DRY! The fries were no better than you get from a freezer aisle at a supermarket! We mentioned our disappointment to our waitress when paying the bill and she agreed the quality of food had gone downhill but didn't offer to compensate us for our poor experience nor did she seem to care! So sad to see this place being run into the ground when it used to have such a great reputation.

Annie’s used to be how we imagined a great American burger should be. Now it’s no bigger/ better than a chain like 5 guys! Had one of the so called bigger burgers and glad I did as it was tiny. Used to have so much...

I recently got diagnosed with milk, egg and nut allergies and I was very happy to see that not only do they have vegan versions of all their dishes, but they also have plant based cheeses and sauces. All other food places I've been to so far haven't had any substitutes so this was very good to see. Only nitpick I have is that I usually see little allergy flags stuck into my meals which I didn't get here. The little flag just add that little bit of security that they know you have allergies and the meal has been prepped accordingly. Though this is a small thing and overall I really loved my food!

I came for Spice Girls bottomless brimch with my colleagues. They decorated our room specially which was lovely. The service was outstanding. Our orders were taken quickly and food arrived quickly. The food was delicious. It was very easy to get drink top ups. Annie...

Bit disappointed with this visit, several servers came to us, asking if we were ready to order (food), had to repeatedly ask for longer. When we were ready one of our party had to re-order as what they wanted wasn't available. This surely should have been mentioned as we were seated. When we were ordering desserts, we were told about a certain item being unavailable, however when we placed our order another dessert wasn't available, the one that two of our party wanted. In our disappointment we went without desserts.

So so disappointed, we moved to Nottingham recently and my daughter has been asking and asking to try this place. We decided to order it on her birthday yesterday, removed tomatoes from her burger on the order but it came with tomatoes in and with her being autistic, it’s not a matter of just ‘taking it out’ aswell as this she was super excited to dip her chips in the nacho cheese sauce- this never came in the order. I called up and waited 1 in the queue for about 30 minutes, no answer. Have called back this afternoon and haven’t got an answer, it just rings. I’m not worried about a refund, I just want the food so my daughter can try it! Would be happy to remove this review if it gets resolved and they send the food over.

Amazing array of burger choices, including some quite unusual combinations! I've tried a few and they've been delicious every time. Love the decor.

This was only my second visit my wife and I took our grandson before an event at tha Arena. Service was dreadfully slow and quality of food very poor. My burger bun disintegrated the moment I picked it up. The burgers themselves were nothing special...

What can I say, it's been a while since we have been to Annie's as fancied a break and something different. Well we not be back!! The burger was half the size we remember and had no flavor at all. Curly fries were cold, really...

Tonight we really wanted a burger and after searching around decided on Annie’s even though they said it would be up to a 20 minute wait. Annie’s had been recommended by a friend who explained it had been around for years and had a good reputation for great burgers, so we were really looking forward to it, I enjoy only gourmet burgers which I find delicious but this burger from Annie’s was far from that! I had ordered the ‘Blue..,’ It was lukewarm on arrival with little taste apart from the blue cheese which it was named after. And in my opinion you can’t get blue cheese wrong for those who love it - on the other hand the burger was wrong! The bacon was just overly greasy in a not nice way and obviously hadn’t been blotted to get rid of the excess grease. The buns were not toasted and were again cold and the cheese although a healthy wedge - wasn’t melted. I paid an extra £1.50 for onion rings which again I generally usually love to eat and whilst the onion tasted of onion which isn’t always the case with all onion rings, the batter didn’t taste nice, which tasted as if the oil they had been fried in hadn’t been changed regularly enough. That was my meal. My daughter had gone for I think a chicken burger with fries and we paid extra for a cheese sauce to dip her fries in. Whereas she thought or burger was just about ok, the fries were really nice, however the food again was lukewarm and the cheese sauce which was supposed to be warm was cold! To be fair they did take this offer the overall price, but we would have preferred good food instead. Our drinks were over priced I had what was a very small coffee of average taste (I had had that morning at the crown plaza hotel a coffee at their bar twice the size and twice the taste for a similar price) whilst my daughter had a Fanta both drinks were £3.50 each! The waiting staff were nice when we saw them but we didn’t see much of them throughout. We were both greatly underwhelmed by this experience we had been looking forward to and were very hungry before we ate which usually has the effect of allowing you to enjoy food even more, but sadly not in this case! More unfortunate for us was that we turned down going to phat hippo instead!

Went on the evening of 21st Feb....place was virtually empty....cold fries....the burgers have shrunk in size since I last visited....I feel annies has had its day Used to be brilliant ....seriously as a business it needs looking at before it's gone Only good point we didn't have to pay for fries onion rings or coffee

Gone right down hill since when it first opened. The quality has deteriorated, food is tasteless, and the burger size and portion have got smaller. Morning like a 99p mc d's hamburger.

Although it was quiet when I went with my sister, I really enjoyed going to Annie's Shack. The food was just what I was expecting, American & inviting. I will now have to go back to try an authentic hot dog!

Great food and even better service. Came with friends on a busy Saturday lunch time. Had an issue but the manager gave us a round of free drinks to compensate. Very kind. Food it brilliant and prices are about right.

This used to one of my favourite restaurants to visit, but the last few times I've been it's really gone down hill. A while ago I had a booking for 13 people for a birthday and we were crammed around a table set for 9 people as they gave part of our table away to a walk in. More recently I've visited again, the prices have increased but the service and the food quality have gotten worse on my most recent visit, the food portions have gotten smaller, the burgers looked about 40% smaller than previous and the food quality just isn't what it used to be. Unfortunately, I have to say I don't think I'll be returning anymore.

Definitely should have read the reviews before visiting! From the beginning to end the service was shocking… and we are usually very easily pleased! We sat down at 10am, and it took the waitress until 10.35 to ask us what we would like to order…...

Ordered food for delivery and removed vegetables, sauce and cheese due to dietry requirements, only to find Annies do NOT care and will send it per spec regardless. Tried calling to get it resolved and was waiting for 30 minutes in queue position 1...no one answered. So in conclusion it's my honest belief from this experience that they DO NOT CARE about customer service and I would avoid at all cost.

What a great place to drop in to after a hard day shopping in Notts. The food was lovely, fresh, and tasty. One little thing, my burger could have been a little hotter and melted the cheese as it felt a little cold. But overall chips and onion rings spot on, and the other meals were perfect. The drinks were spot on homemade lemonade, and will return soon.

Visited here on a Sunday. Had the Lemmy burger, was unsure I would like it because of the whiskey mustard but wanted to try something different, and it was amazing! Decent price for a burger, a good portion of fries, and not a bad price. Atmosphere was nice, not too loud, not too busy. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely like to go back again, was a damn fine burger.

Great burgers with a wide range of flavour combinations, we also enjoyed the sides such as the fries and frickles. Atmosphere is fun with a big emphasis on American sports culture.

Food was very nice portion sizes fair for the price but you are paying a small premium for the atmosphere and the brand. I'd overall say it's definitely worth a try as a special occasion. Staff Friendly, Food very flavourful and succulent, Seating ok but fits the atmosphere. Cons WiFi and Data Reception is completely blocked you'll be lucky to get a single bar so makesure you bring your card as paying by phone will be tough. Drinks are on the pricey side but nothing crazy however Shakes are definitely not worth your money.

This was our first time here and it wasn't quite what we expected. I have to say the food was amazing I had the U.S.A Breakfast Burger probably one of if not the best burger I ever had. It was a busy Saturday night and there were hardly any staff serving it took over an hour for our food to arrive after ordering we did not mind but due to lack of staff we struggled to even get drinks while we were waiting I had to go stand at the bar at one point I thought this was strange you would expect the business to want to keep plying you with drinks to make as much money as possible but because this was the first time we have been I obviously don't know if this is how it usually is. One other point is that it's situated in an old building with cheap old hard wood chairs etc very uncomfortable and really old fashioned it is definitely in need of a full revamp I did expect this place to be more modern BUT I have to say I would be willing to give it another go due to the food being so good!

Not been to Annie's for a long time, the last time we went it was absolutely buzzing and there was a great atmosphere. This time the place wasn't that busy so the atmosphere just wasn't there for me. That said the food was great, my burger (pictured) with the pulled pork was very nice and well cooked, I chose the Cajun wedges to accompany, they were huge, I was expecting them to be a little hard in the centre judging their size, but no, they were lovely and fluffy in the centre and just right in the spice. I thought the price was a tad high considering there was no slight side order of salad or onion ring, but it was very tasty. Would I go back? Yes it is likely that I would go back for a special occasion like a birthday treat but with a spend of over £26 for a burger and 2 pints I won't be a regular, sorry

This is a well known and popular burger bar in the interesting Lace Market area of Nottingham. There is a very large choice of burgers (almost too many for me to be honest) which are all available as vegetarian and vegan. We visited on a Friday evening and, as a large group, were happy to pre-order. I enjoyed my food. It's a fairly pared back, informal vibe. Limited choice of beers (a couple had run out which seemed strange for early on a Friday evening). Toilets need improving.

We were a group of 8 and waited almost an hour for our food. When it did come out there was no apology about the wait, and there wasn't an apology when we asked how long it would take. I've been a few times and i don't think i'd go again, the service just keeps going downhill. Update: Visited again after around 5 years, service seems even worse which is disappointing. Waited almost an hour for our food, other customers who arrived after us received their food first and once asking a server for an update they told us we should've been told at the door that there would be a long wait due to a preorder. Really disappointed as this place used to be great, won't be making the mistake of coming here again.

Placed an order on the 6/01/2024, got told they ran out off some off the items I ordered and they will be refunded. Still not had the refunded sent emails and tired to ring and no one gets back I touch… The lettuce was all brown and horrible on the burgers which has been stated in the emails and was told someone would be in contact asap! Updating my review after 6 years. Unfortunately, this establishment has gone downhill since the last time I visited. First of all, it took them almost an hour to bring out 4 burgers and some fries. The quality of the food was disappointing. The patty was dry and under seasoned while the touted milkshake was bland at best. On top of that, the so called "spicy" Deathray was not even close to being hot or spicy while also being small. The staff were friendly, but unfortunately for them our order was wrong initially, which was surprising given the restaurant was 70% empty. It's such a shame, considering how good this burger place used to be. Do better.

Updated review 2024 - smaller portions and were served 1 hr after we had ordered. The food was below average. The staff seemed polite but they served us the wrong food at first, even though the place was half empty. 6 years ago. Horrible behaviour. The lady at the door was very rude. We never got a table after 2 hours of wait and the mood was destroyed just as a result of her behaviour. We have been pretty regular customers we know the food is great but that does not give you the right to treat your customers like that. This is not how you get to keep your customers. I am sorry.

Came recommended by a friend and that was an excellent recommendation. 5* well deserved, will return when local. Edit: did return, still good.
