I visited in 2014 and received excellent food, friendly service, in a restaurant with a buzzing atmosphere. I returned in 2023 and was served terrible food with awful service in a dirty restaurant. My thoughts are with the workers who (according to news outlets) were given zero notice of their redundancy. The management responsible for this atrocity should be ashamed.

Edit review to 1 star for them jumping ship and not informing staff. Annie's Burger shack has been a place I've visited only a handful of times and the experience always seems to differ between good and... Meh. On the day we visited, we were quickly seated and our order for drinks was taken. My partner had ordered a milkshake as she was intrigued by their Reese's one with getting myself a root beer. Once the order for the milkshake was taken, the server approached the kitchen window which was right behind us and asked them if they could make the milkshake for her which received the response of them stating 'they couldn't be bothered' but they'd do it for her. My root beer came promptly and the milkshake took some time to arrive, probably 10 minutes before the food itself and for £10 was underwhelming. The Reese's peanut butter taste was barely present and it merely came across as a glorified vanilla milkshake. When ordering our food, the server asked me which type of fries I'd like and whilst attempting to locate them on the menu, I asked her 'what are the options?', rather than tell them to me, she moved the menu to the appropriate page and pointed to them, declaring that 'they are listed here' in a snappy tone. Once our food arrived the fries were hot and crispy and the burgers stacked high. The burgers during this visit felt a little overcooked compared to previous visits and a little dry unfortunately. I added a side of Frank's and beans which has decreased In quality since the last time I had them, with a few pieces of sausage and clearly microwaved beans. It's unfortunate this visit was not as good in comparison to previous visits. I would recommend Annie's Burger Shack for their variety, atmosphere and selection... Visiting results may vary.

I have been wanting to come to Annie's for many years now and even more so since I met her at the Chilli Festival in Southwell. We had booked a table for 2 at 5pm Sunday night. We arrived and was met politely at the door and was advised if anyone drank draft beer as they had run out of everything except Budweiser. This immediately surprised my and I asked why and was told none had been ordered rather than running out, little red flag planted there. We were shown out table and given the menu by the waitress, in a polite but not over enthusiastic way. I would say at this time the restaurant had 20 or so customers in it. Placed our drink order and that came along slower than I would expect as it wasn't packed but ok these things happen. We were asked if we were ready to order but we were not quite ready and asked if we could have more time and we were told ok but there was a cook off or something anyway we thought we might have misheard. After ordering we had such a long wait to get our food and my Texas BBQ burger was literally cold. The corn on the top was stone cold and the meat on top too. The patty was barely warm. My partners Boston Nibbler was only just warm but eatable none the less. I returned the burger and was then brought out what I thought was a replacement but i swear it was the same burger as this time the patty was well over cooked and chewy. The onion rings tasted ok but one bowl was ok but the other was barely warm again. The braised pickles were literally not braised at all and had just come out of a jar from Aldi. The only thing that was remotely nice was the poutine, however Poutine is meant to have cheese curds and this had just normal cheese melted on top. If this is how they are meant to do it then fair enough but it isn't poutine in my opinion. It was just some basic chips in ready made gravy. Overall a very very disappointing visit. the staff are clearly polite and facing an uphill battle with the food the kitchen is turning out . We were given a reduction in the cost of one burger but I'd rather have a tasty good quality meal than reduced cost. I had friends that ate a few months ago and had a similar experience but I felt that I needed to give it a try as I had been desperate to go. I'm a huge supporter of independent business and Annie's was a great asset to the City but I fear it's days are numbered if this is the quality of food that is turned out. Another disappointment as I was going to take my work team there for Christmas, I will be looking for another venue.

Atmosphere- fine. Bar - well stocked. Staff- friendly. Food - good portions, tasted good but waited for nearly an hour before it was served and all of it was either luke warm or cold. Had ibviouslt been cooked then left standing for 20 minutes before serving. We ate it because we were hungry and could have eaten a scabby horse and didn't want to wait another hour. Bit disappointing.

I just want to say, unfortunately my previous review has now changed. I’m sorry to say that the two members of staff I mentioned before have been dismissed apparently… god knows why. The food was sub par before but at least Matt and Chloe made up for it. This time we were greeted by a man that I can only assume bathes in joop, which happened to be the nicest tasting thing in my mouth that evening. We waited for 1 hour, asked where the food was in which I was told ‘it will be there when it’s ready’ I asked for the manager and was told he doesn’t work in opening hours?? Had to leave because I was embarrassed and quite frankly, disgusted in the service. Don’t bother. A sinking ship… Annie you were once amazing and now you’re a sell out.

I have visited Annie’s a few times over the last 7/8 years, it’s always been fantastic. They have now simplified the menu but have kept the whole essence of Annie herself. We ordered the Stilton burger and the Boston Nibler and they were delicious and still a good portion. We will be back soon thank you

Sadly after hearing good things from people about this place, it really didn’t live up to expectations. Perhaps in its hay day this was the place to go for burgers in Notts. But our experience was very poor and will not be returning! Dining experience- menus provided to us were sticky and peeling away at the corners, abit gross to start with. Food ordering- a majority of the key items were out of stock including root beers and milkshakes, the waiter could have been abit more patient when explaining what’s out given the menu is so extensive. Food quality - over cooked and reheated food, I could tell by the stale chips we were given with no potato inside. Really disappointed as the price of the burgers are very expensive. I’ve had better burgers at Wetherspoons so I’d urge you to swerve this place! Service - the waiter could tell I wasn’t happy but instead of coming back to our table to even ask if we wanted another drink, he avoided us, I repeatedly asked for the bill, ( I was just wanting to get out of there) and I had to wait 45 mins for the bill whilst he served 2 other tables( the only other tables in there so it wasn’t busy) which was well awkward! Finally took it upon myself to just wait at the bar until I could pay and leave. Overall - save your money and go elsewhere, it’s expensive here for poor food quality and vibes. There’s better places in Notts now for this kinda food! This place seems like it’s had its hay day years ago and has let standards slip.

Editing this review since my recent visit: still a good selection of burger styles/flavours that can all be made veggie or vegan. Very friendly service, too. But the quality and value for money have really declined over the years, as evinced by their new menu. Much of the amazing range of burger flavours/styles they previously had has been removed. The menu has been stripped down and sacrificed to cost-cutting measures, whilst prices have increased. Curly fries used to be included with burgers, now you have to pay extra. I always order the buffalo ranch ‘chicken’ burger, but this time, it didn’t come with the melted cheese sauce that it should come with, was smaller, more basic and bland than it’s been during my previous visits. At £15, it’s barely better than a McDonald’s burger, which is half the price. A real shame…these burgers used to be outstanding. Sacrificing quality food and experience for quantity and profits never bodes well in the long term.

I’m really sorry to write this as I used to love Annies burgers. The food is still good, just not like it was, easy to see that the quality of ingredients has fallen, and some burgers vanished from the menu as a result I suspect. Probably a bit pricey now for what it is. Unfortunately like others have said it needs a really good clean, the toilets have the feel of a 1990’s cheap night club about them that only a complete refurb could sort. I’m sorry to Annie, you must be gutted.

Been visiting Annie’s for years pre lockdown. Decided to come back as we missed the good old breakfast but menu has changed drastically. Some same items but meal is drastically smaller portions but more expensive. In this economy thats not an issue with inflation but my god the food was terrible. Our pancakes were so hard and burnt. Nobody bothered to ask how our food was so we couldn’t complain as there wasn’t anyone really around. The waitresses seemed really lovely when taking our order though and the music was really good. The food was cold and burnt, so disappointing from Annie’s as it was never like this in the previous years. Will not be returning, there are better burgers and breakfast places in Nottingham! Very disappointing!

Perhaps due to the management reading other Trip comments about their slow service, our arrival was met with a harsh-toned "It'll be an hour's wait for food". This knocked us off-course as we had booked several days ahead, and it took the edge off what should have been a care-free casual meal (note to manager: if I want to partake in kitchen stress, I can cook that up for myself at home). Surely a restaurant knows how to manage its bookings in order to ensure smooth service? Obviously not. We probably wouldn't normally have been too worried by delays, but we had tickets for an event two hours later, and had also noted from the restaurant's website that our booking was for a timed slot. (Note to manager: you can't have it both ways). Not wishing for our dining to be unnecessary drawn-out by trying to catch the eye of one of the very few waiters, we decided to give our food order at the same time as the drinks order. (Note to reader: if you're an occasional Annie's dabbler, and haven't visited for a while, you'll be shocked by the significantly reduced menu that's washed away the weirdness that Annie's was famed for. Annie's is now much less 'Nottingham people-pleaser' (gone are the doughnut, Yorkshire pud and black pud burger embellishments, previously enjoyed by many an XXL diner) in favour of being more 'straight-laced New England slightly-dirty-but-not-wacky-burgers that your grandmother would tolerate'). Anyway, our tactic seemed to help (or maybe it was just good fortune), as we were eating within 45 minutes. The beef patties still taste good (though are no longer in our top three on the planet). And one patty, once stacked between layers of bun, cheese, lettuce and whatever else, is sufficient to satisfy an average appetite. The patties were only luke-warm, but we decided to put up with that to avoid more waiting. Our fries were plentiful and, in contrast to the burgers, were piping hot. The service came with a smile, and we got almost what we ordered (one of us didn't get the curly fries upgrade, so just made sure they didn't appear on our bill). The refurb, while chasing away the quirky character of the old Annie's, has given the place a welcome freshen-up. No major grumbles over all. But... The thing I'm struggling with is why I've been motivated to write this review. I'm a journalist (and have written about food for a living) but generally don't 'Trip' unless I've had a particularly good or bad experience (food should always do its job, and therefore not justify an essay). Annie's is no longer the best, nor is it the worst. However, in my mind, a restaurant burger should always hit the mark (after all, it's not complicated cuisine, and I'm paying restaurant prices!). When a burger arrives room-temperature but you just feel grateful that it's appeared this side of your next birthday, alarm bells ring. (At McDonald's I can pay about a fiver for a lukewarm quaterpounder with fries and a diet Coke, and it arrives inside five minutes. The Annie's equivalent (with a few extra fries) will set you back almost 20 quid. You know what I'm getting at). Annie's, like many food businesses, has gone through hard times recently (administration and a restructure), so, for now, perhaps we should just be grateful for her continued existence. But I wonder how long her die-hards will show their tolerance and hopes of improvement before moving on to the next place (other burger joints are available). After all, money is harder to earn these days, so diners prefer to spend where they feel loved (and not instantly harassed by the meet-and-greet harbinger of "you'll lose an hour of your life before you eat a lukewarm burger" doom).

This restaurant used to be very good unfortunately not any more. We went for the family meal and were surprised how bad the restaurant currently look. Restaurant is dirty, tables sticky on the top, tables sides and legs covered with old food and drinks residue. The waitress unstack dirty drinks menu from another table and gave it to us. The food tasted old and we didn't feel good in the evening. To be fair the staff was friendly, food served quickly. Food portions are still good, reduced menu didn't bother us as still enough to choose from, prices are ok but we wont come again and wont recommend to anybody. This place needs cleaning and refurbishing.

So this isn’t a bad restaurant, it’s just no where near as good as it used to be. The food we had was OK, and served in good time by pleasant staff, but that’s where it ends. As we were seated we were told they had no wings, no hotdogs and no bbq burgers - this was at 1pm on a Friday, which is pretty poor. We ordered an average sized burger for around £16/£17 and onion rings. There was one member of staff on the floor that was doing everything, very well, but they were understaffed. The issue I have is that in years gone by Annie’s had a real USP for a big menu, big portions and great service - all of which are gone, it’s now just another average burger restaurant that is equal to many. The menu still has a decent selection but the burgers are nothing like they used to be. Do better Annie’s, we love what you stood for before - where’s that passion and desire to go the extra mile…

Visited as part of a large group. We were asked to pre order and did so, which is perfectly understandable for a group as large as ours. Our visit was part of a surprise stag do for a mutual friend, taking place in the Tavern. We were originally told that our food would be served around 6pm. It was another hour and 15 minutes before we received it, which was especially frustrating given that, not only had we pre ordered, but that the venue was very quiet. When the food was eventually served, it quickly became clear that the staff had no idea what was going on. They resorted to asking the event organiser where individual meals were going, despite having a list of everyone's names, and burgers were delivered without sides. When the sides did eventually arrive, they were in communal portions that were placed on individual tables as opposed to being allocated to the dishes they'd been ordered. Considering that most sides carry an individual charge, it's ridiculous that people were given burgers without the side dishes that they'd paid for. I had pre ordered curly fries with my burger and when I raised this with the staff, they looked at me like they'd never heard the words 'curly' or 'fries' together in a sentence. Needless to say, my full order never arrived, despite me being asked to pay for it on the night, before it had even been served. There's no point in asking for refund as I doubt anyone is going to admit their mistakes. I'll just accept that I'm out of pocket for mediocre food and worse service. Annie's used to be the go to place in Nottingham for burgers but now there's no point. They'd much rather have your money than ensure you have a good experience. The menu is smaller and the service is worse. This review only has two stars because Chloe, on the Tavern bar, was amazing! It's a shame that she's leaving in the next week but that perhaps says a lot about how this business is run now.

We’ve been to Annie’s Burger Shack a few times and always had a phenomenal experience. Today however, we’re not impressed. I made a booking for 5pm for a meal and drinks. We were met at the door by a member of staff who didn’t say hello, didn’t have a polite tone and seemed uninterested. After giving our name he said “be done in 45 minutes”. No please, no thank you, and no context. We understand Annie’s is a busy restaurant, and there was a pub quiz on at 7pm. However, when booking the table there was no notice of a specific time frame we had to dine in. The waitresses were lovely. The food was not its normal standard. This is incredibly disappointing as we always pop in when we’re in the area. For the price point, the experience today did not meet the standard we are used to. Alongside this, the ladies toilets didn’t seem to have been checked throughout the day and there was no toilet roll. These are things must be maintained, as it is embarrassing for the customer to have to point these out to a member of staff. Hoping this is just an off day for the shack, and hope to have a better experience next time.

We haven’t visited Annie’s for a while so thought we’d give it a try as it used to be quite nice. We were deeply disappointed and I can’t say we’ll ever go back. The ‘smashed’ burgers were completely not smashed. They were basically just chunky stodgy burgers which lacked flavour. There are no descriptions for the loaded fries on the menu (just titles) so we ordered chilli cheese fries thinking it would be a cheese sauce with chilli’s on (as it usually is), however it was actually chillli con carne with a sprinkle of cheese. This could have been our misinterpretation but a comma could have helped in the title. We ordered chicken tenders which were the thinnest, driest tenders I have ever had. Wings which don’t even come with a sauce. Poutine with watery thin gravy… I could go on. We also sat outside and had the food passed through a window while holding a 6 month old baby. The toilets were also really grotty and run down. I had to change my baby in them and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. In the world we live in now with plenty of smashed burger options, I would advise to go elsewhere.

Food arrived not long after but was pretty underwhelming, and accompanied by burnt wedges and onion rings. I felt sorry for the two waiting staff who seemed to be also running the bar. The toilets were also quite possibly the worst/dirtiest I’ve seen in a restaurant. I’m hoping they were just having an off day. Shame it was when we were visiting.

We travelled up to Nottingham and spent a wonderful father's day 2024 as a family of 4 at Annie's Burger Shack. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by David, who also took care of us to the moment we left. David provided a personal service, was great with the kids, and took time to explain, listen and get our order pin point perfect. We were impressed with his menu knowledge, kind manner, and most of all his excellent customer service. I was born in the 80s and sadly the quality of customer service has nose dived since the early 2000s....its been a very long time since I last felt like I had a 10 oyt of 10 service. Annie's has a wonderful variety of meals, and also in an era of food standardisation, Annie's were comfortable to offer variations to the meals. I would highly recommend Annie's for a great family meal, and I want to say a big thank you to David who made the experience over and beyond. Thank you

The food was absolutely delicious. The staff Matt and Chloe were brilliant really friendly and helpful. Only negative is we were running late and wanted to pre warn them but it was a nightmare couldn’t get through to speak to anyone. Rang about five times and got a recorded message to say ring during restaurant opening times and it was during those times!!!! Blue light/nhs discount would also be welcome. Other than that the restaurant was fabulous.

Went for restaurant week to try Annie’s again. I haven’t been for a while and had the cheese burger, it was standard burger and not like I have had in the past. Would come again but not for a while. It was £10 for a cheeseburger, fries and can of pop.

Where do I start? Was it the slow and inconsistent service? Was it the fact that the I could practically feel the person next to me because the tables are so close? Or was it the worst one of all the explosive diarrhoea and vomiting that was caused by the pink below average burger that I couldn’t even finish? I started to feel sick within 10 minutes of finishing the food and so did my friend so we couldn’t be the problem. Annie’s Burger Shack sort yourselves out because that is absolutely insane. Although the curly fries were great and came in large portions if you eat that maybe you’ll be fine but I wouldn’t risk it x

Just ordered delivery. New England dipper burgers both missing dipping sauce. Vegan burger is appalling version just two slices of packet beef sandwich slices. Meaty burger is all fat not brisket. Burgers are absolutely not as advertised. Wedges are undercooked. Onion rings order is literally two single onion rings. This was ridiculously expensive (£38~) for what is very poor quality and missing items. Annie's has never been Old Angel / The Nav quality since then but I had hope w seeing constant comments of how the burgers etc had changed w the new menu but I'm really disappointed.

This place is okay if you don’t eat the burger which kind of defeats the whole purpose. The service at this establishment is quite shocking. I felt like I was begging the staff for everything. It took ages to actually have my order taken in the first place which was annoying. I would attempt to call the staff over and they would say they were coming, only to never come over? I was so disappointed when the burger itself came out. The meat patty itself tasted quite off and sweaty. I have continued to be violently sick after this meal and felt so unwell. I have been unable to consume any other food as my stomach has been still tossing and turning. The chips were fantastic though!

Absolutely LOVEEEE this place and the new menu is banging!! You can go vegan, veggie or meaty on any of their burger choices. Although making that choice isn’t easy, they all sound unreal. I’ve been a fan of Annie’s for years and getting to meet her properly last night was so much fun, she’s so lovely. I’ve never ever been disappointed when visiting here, and the new burgers are sooooooooo bloody good . Highly recommend getting the Texas bbq rib and the poutine fries!!

I've been coming to Annie's for years and it was always one of my favourite burger restaurants. When we last visited, we found that there was a new menu - roughly half of the burgers (most of my favourites) had been removed. Along with the reduced menu, things like curly fries were now considered an upgrade and cost extra. It seems the food has also fallen victim to cost cutting measures - smaller portions, lower quality burgers and dry fries - now served in baskets (to prevent comparison with the old menu?). Unfortunately, there's no reduction in price to match in quality or size - it's expensive for what amounts to a pub-quality burger. We also had no napkins, cutlery or condiments on our table and the internal decor has been pared back and looks a lot more generic - seemingly to pack more tables in. The staff, who were already rushed off their feet, are continuing to do their best. Can't see us rushing back - I really hope they turn things around.

On arrival we were seated and had to wait over 30 minutes for someone to come and take our orders. Others who were seated later were served before us. Once we ordered food we had to wait an hour for it to arrive. When it did arrive, some of the food was missing ingredients and portion sizes/ quality was less than previous visits. We had to go to the bar to pay our bill as nobody came to take payment despite being sat waiting with the bill for over 20 minutes. We did not complain about any of this and were trying to be understanding however we heard a member of staff behind the bar making comments about our group approaching the bar which I found unprofessional and rude. Not all staff were rude as in this instance but nobody apologised for our wait or came to check on us during our visit. We would have forgiven longer waiting times and missing items/ drinks had we been given an apology or some sign of one. This was disappointing as some of the group had visited previously and had a great time. Will not be revisiting anytime soon.

We have been a few times before and it was great. This time, we were sat and waited 45 minutes to order, then waited another hour for food, then 20 minutes went by with the check and had to go to the bar to pay. We then heard staff complaining about us behind the bar once we asked to pay. Burgers were missing components, drinks flat and some forgotten about. Staff were not apologetic whatsoever for the delays. No wait staff came by to check on us whatsoever. We didn’t complain whatsoever as we try to be understanding but disappointed by the lack of organization and apology. Either rebrand or new management is not working and really hope these issues don’t last. We did book for this table and there was 5 of us, and it wasn’t particularly busy either.

Edit : Went last weekend and I don't know what has happened the menu has shrank and the food still takes ages to come out. The items that are on the menu aren't as good as they used to be, the (slayer) delta burger has changed and isn't very nice. They have also seemed to have changed the burger patty and is now no where near the quality it used to be. For the first time I didn't finish it and probably won't be going again Never had a bad experience, been going to Annie's burger shack since it was just a kitchen in the corner of the old angel. The foods same high standards have been kept love going and recommend it to everyone I talk too

Used to love coming to Annie’s when visiting Nottingham. Great food, great portions and lovely atmosphere. All seems to have changed since I visited late 2023, feels like the place has been bought out and cheaped down. Had the chicken ranch burger which was completely inedible. Think the chicken had been cooked about a week prior and quickly reheated in the fryer, tough as old boots and almost devoid of actual chicken. Burger bun wasn’t soft and fluffy like I remember, tasted like cheap shop bought. Servers were chirpy but no one bothered to check how our food was or seemed to care that I barely touched my burger. Sad to see Annie’s go - won’t be visiting again.

Noisy Saturday evening. Busy and vibrant. My first visit ahead of an evening comedy gig nearby. I enjoyed an excellent classic cheese burger with skin-on fries fresh from the kitchen and piping hot, followed by a banana split milkshake. All as good as I’ve ever had and better than almost anywhere else I’ve tried recently. Had a lovely chat with Annie who is definitely real and very friendly. She’s also a genuine New Englander, making this as authentic a burger shack as you’ll find. Loved my first visit, can’t wait to visit again with family.

We've been coming to Annie's Burger Shack for over 10 years. Unfortunately, our most recent visit will likely be our last. Only two of us so hardly a big order to cater for. Both orders were wrong!! Burgers were warm at best and didn't look or taste like they were freshly cooked to order. The burgers themselves didn't taste like the Annie's burgers that I've had before. Due to one order being totally wrong, it was a 20-minute wait for the replacement. By that time, I'd eaten mine, and obviously the sides would have been cold. This was a birthday treat for my partner, which we were both looking forward to. Any photos are old photos, looking like they also shrunk the burger buns. The onion rings were nothing like traditional/American style onion rings. We didn't like them and it wasn't on the menu they were a different style. Service was poor , yes they were busy, but you would have expected a place with 15 years experience would be able to function when busy. Apparently, they have changed menu recently, and it's taking the kitchen a while to adjust. They used to be so diligent getting orders 100% correct especially with the vegetarian or vegan options. Yet couldn't get a no salad burger and smash burgers with well done bacon right.

4 years ago would have been 5 stars on all fronts. Since the renovation and menu change it seems to have taken a dip in quality. Burgers appear to have been affected by shrinkflation, we had to get a waiters attention at each point of the service (ordering and asking to pay) and we waited for them to come to us a long while, multiple times all wait staff disappeared entirely and generally seemed to be ignoring us. Took 1:15 for food to arrive but tbf it was a very busy night. Atmosphere was very odd. Really loud music which you dont particularly want in a restaurant plus it was like 90s cheesy music (the sort you find in a popworld) so not really fitting the new england aesthetic. All I can say is that the burgers are still good quality. I miss the old Annie's...

Went with friends last weekend for brunch. I have a Gluten allergy and made them aware of this on arrival and was provided with a Gluten Minimal Menu. Despite being seated fairly quickly it took them a while to come and take our drinks order even though it was not particularly busy at the time. I ordered the Breakfast Burger which I noted differed on the Gluten Minimal Menu to the main menu in that the sausage patty was replaced with corned beef, presumably because the sausage patty contained gluten. When the breakfast burger arrived it had a sausage patty on it, I queried with the waiting staff and was advised they were sure it was Gluten free but they would check. When she came back with other orders for the table I asked her if she had checked and she said yes it was gluten free. As the sausage patty was not on the gluten minimal menu I asked her to check again as I was unsure as to why it was not on the gluten minimal menu if it was gluten free. At this point a different member of wait staff came over to tell me that it was not gluten free and she would take away the meal I had been served and get me another one, I asked them not to bother as I had lost any trust in them that the food I would be given would be safe for me to eat as the previous waitress did not seem to know what was gluten free. This is the second time this has happened in this restaurant and previously when we went for dinner, they removed the gluten ingredients and returned the burger to me but I had been willing to give them the benefit of the doubt when going for brunch - big mistake. I would not recommend eating here if you have allergies as despite signs all over with allergy reminders this is clearly forgotten as soon as the order gets to the kitchen. My friends that I dined with were also unhappy with their meals, the breakfasts came out cold and were sent back to be replaced, the pancakes that used to be large were now no bigger that the small pancakes you can buy in packets in the supermarket and the coffee served was cold as it was clearly the end of the filter jug and had been sat for a while. Overall not a good experience and we would not return here again.

Food wait was for the best part of an hour my burger was burnt the other 3 burgers were apparently ok.i had the beef gravey as a side which was no more than an I thin watery oxo cube slurry there was also a small selection of ketchup sachets on the table not bad for over £90 for 4 burger and chips. I travel up and down the uk for work and I can with authority say that the male toilets are the most dirtiest bady maintained toilets I have seen im sorry to say that I felt Annie's burgers are taking the customers for granted and they obviously feel that keeping the toilets in that state was acceptable, this kind of neglect doesn't happen overnight and you know what they say ' if you want to know the cleanliness of the kitchens look at the toilets ' unfortunately the manager got a stern telling off from me with few choice words being said all of which was water of a ducks back,to make matters worse these are for staff use as well have a think about that!

Unfortunately this place is a disappointment! We’ve been to this place twice. After booking the table in advance, when arrived we’ve been told to stay on the side and wait for another 20 min because apparently our table wasn’t free, whist everyone else who came were seated straight away! What is the point of booking the table at a specific time then?Anyway we enjoyed the burgers and chips that time and decided to come back. We came back yesterday. After ordering our food we waited for an hour and the food never arrived, nobody came to us meanwhile to apologise for the delay or to explain the delay, unless this is a regular practice for them there? After 15 people at the next door table who arrived 15 minutes after us started getting their order we’ve realised something isn’t quite right. So I approached the waitress who took our order, her attitude was as if she couldn’t care less, but said she will check with the kitchen. In about 5 minutes we got our burgers but all 3 of them were ice cold. The waitresses were making lame excuses and covering for themselves that was even worse than receiving ice cold food after an hours wait. Their behaviour was unprofessional, treating us as idiots after clearly covering for themselves or the kitchens mistakes. The place was not busy last night, lots of waitresses were quite often just standing there looking at the public and non of them noticed that no food ever arrived at our table to at least double check with the kitchen the situation. The manager dealt with us seemingly appropriately, he apologised and didn’t make us pay for the drinks. And yet we were not after free drinks, we came for tasty dinner on Friday night at the end long working week and we left hungry and disappointed at 8.15pm Friday night. There is no teamwork at this place, the floor staff are very poorly trained on how to deal with situations like that and have no customer communication skills whatsoever. I would not recommend this place as it’s not consistent with service and food quality.

Normally a great place, but was there on 25 April, and they had a single person serving in the whole restaurant. It was not her fault, and she was non-stop working, but it resulted in very slow service, and food that when it did arrive, luke warm. The restaurant management need to rethink the staffing levels, this was not a great experience.

What has happened to this place. Used to be fantastic. Not anymore! Two of us went on Thursday night and the place was empty. Burgers were underwhelming but edible. We decided to try again and 6 of us went on Sunday for Brunch. The food was cold, burnt and inedible. The once huge fluffy pancakes were the size of tea cups and I’ve never seen a thinner waffle. The most worrying thing tho was despite signs everywhere and being asked if you have any food intolerance one of our party who has a GF intolerance was served a sausage patty that was not on the GF menu despite asking twice if it was gluten free and being told yes, it turns out it actually it wasn’t. Will not be back.

A great place for burgers. There's 30+ different burger options, plus a couple of different hotdogs to choose from, so you'll probably find something you haven't tried before. We've had both beef and chicken burgers from here before, and they've been delicious. They had a good range of beers as well, with craft beers from Brixton, Camden and Goose Island, plus several lager options. The milkshakes are also quite special, with the option to add alcohol to it to add another flavour (we tried the Nutella chocolate milkshake which Cointreau is added to).

This place used to be decent, but no more. Everything was cold. My burger had a soggy 'tortilla' basket on it with a wedge of dry congealed rice, some tasteless mexican type things and, for some reason, olives. The burger was covered in an unpleasant sauce and was essentially tasteless. The waiting staff who dealt with us seemed nice, enough, but whoever's in charge of the kitchen clearly doesn't give a toss. Avoid.

I've been to Annie's many many times over the years and it used to be the best. I visited with a friend last weekend and I cannot believe how downhill it's gone. We had the special waffle'roni chicken burger and it was tiny. There was a time when Annie's burgers were so epic you couldn't even look at the fries you were so full. Yet today I actually left still hungry. The chicken was overcooked, the waffle wasn't homemade but what looked like a freezer waffle. And it had the smallest portion of mac n cheese on top. Nothing like the pictures on social media. Sadly, reading other reviews it seems like I'm not alone. So disappointing, I used to look forward to a trip to Annie's but I don't think I'll be back.

Everything about this was absolutely awful. I ordered a vegan gluten minimal burger. My burgers was bought to me with a massive plate of cold hard chips that tasted as though they had been kettle vaguely warm all afternoon. A waiter almost immediately appeared to say that my bun was not gluten free. It was taken away and bought back on a gluten free bun, same burger transferred. With all the toppings, this made it look rather messy. I cut into the burger and to my horror, discovered it was a burger made from dead cow. I volunteer in a farmed animal sanctuary and have taken the liberation pledge, meaning I won't even sit at a table where people are consuming animal products, so this was a truly horrific experience. They did bring me a new burger after the person I was eating with had finished theirs. I didn't want to eat alone and the experience had put me off the food. I was shocked that they charged the person I was with full price for their food. We went for a special meal to eat together. Our special meal was spoilt for both of us. Her meal was also cold and seemed to have sat in a warm cabinet for hours. I would never eat here again or recommend it to any one else, especially vegans.
