The staff are great, really engaging in conversation, polite and extremely friendly, especially Shaun. I come here all the time. The restaurant is clean, and decorated nicely. The food is amazing and great value for money and I always leave full up.

My server Nicole was lovely. The service was mostly fast apart from waiting for the bill but it was a minimal wait. The lunch deal is absolutely worth it and delicious. Nicole was a star and provided lovely and kind service with a smile.

We were visiting Nottingham for the theatre and were looking for somewhere to eat.,We read the reviews before coming and were expecting great things had also been told it was the best steak house in Nottingham. The ambience of the place was good and the staff were also very pleasant however the food was nothing to rave about. We left disappointed unfortunately.

Honestly foods great but had a really bad experience last time as when I finished my food I looked at the plate and the bowl tin thing the use for the chips an there was tomato sauce at the bottom clearly missed when cleaning them out at that point it was too late to send my food back so I just informed the staff and paid my bill ( could have gave it me for free like but yk) 😂

I’m very disappointed. I ordered the 20oz,steak it’s cost £34.95 but it wasn’t worth the price. The fries were extremely dry and overcooked.

ordered steaks and was quite bland for their price no seasonings and didnt come with any sides also got the loaded brisket chips and came with barely any brisket on top but the gravy sauce was nice they then denied the 20% student discount eventhough it was on their website

Terrible, no matter what any of us in the group asked to how our steak would be cooked, it all came out the exact same way mostly grey even with the steak ranging from Fillet to T-Bone, would not go again, terrible taste terrible quality.

Great food would really recommend. Customer service was on point and meals came really quick. Really enjoyable experience however the atmosphere wasn’t the best as came at a quiet time.

Amazing staff (Nicole and Shaun), and even better food. Steak was cooked perfectly by Alex, hands down the best steak I've ever had! Halloumi Chips and Asian salad was delicious too! Couldn't fault a thing .... would definitely go back and highly recommend - 10x better than Miller and Carter!!! Yesterday before the theatre Nottingham me and a friend decided to go to Son of steak in Nottingham. My friends meal which he said was one of the best steaks he had ever had, mine unfortunately the 20oz T Bone (£35) was just so below standard that i had to complain. Being late for the theatre I ate the food which was cooked much less than I had requested (medium rare). When the lovely girl who was serving asked how the food was I promised myself I wouldn’t complain but just simply had to as the feedback is important. I told her I ate it due to being late but wasn’t happy how it was cooked and my experience was spoilt so the management offered 20% off which I felt was rather unfair. £7 off a meal that left me with a poor experience was something I’d felt was sub standard so requested 50% and this was accepted. Just as a bit of feedback also, try cutting a steak on your tables the tables wobble everywhere your drinks are all over. I sat on the high table next to the till. If the server wasn’t so great infact the two girls working this it would have been given a 1star but I’ll give it 3 for how helpful the two girls was and how accommodating they was whilst serving. And the fact you did refund 50 percent. I’m sure if I was to come back and order a steak which was easier to cook an 8-10oz steak then I would have loved it but as reading your reviews the two expensive steaks I would suggest to customers to stay away from for a good experience. Sorry to have to write this as I would love to praise your company as you see I give reviews often and always normally positive. But this I’m sure you agreed with is just not the experience or standard you should wish to deliver. Thanks.

The flat iron steak was not thinly sliced as advertised- this may sound petty, however I have a disability which means cutting steak is difficult and painful for me and I ordered this particularly because it said "thinly sliced". Staff seem to genuinely care. Food is weirdly served in little bowls. Having to get up to get our drinks seemed weird as everything else was table service

The food is sensational and great value for money. Sean is so down to earth, confident and feels like he actually wants to be here and loves his customers. Jason is great too. Every restaurant should have the customer service skills that Sean has! So chilled at lunch with great music.

Me and my partner came to Nottingham son of steak for the bottomless brunch and we where not disappointed we come here quite regular and everytime it is phenomenal the steaks where amazing we had skin on fries and onion loaf which was lovely and the beef dripping gravy was out of the world if I can recommend a cocktail the electric mai tai is incredible will always come back here without a doubt! Thank you to Shaun and Jason for your amazing service you made us feel very welcome

The food was not what was expected. The rice was overcooked, and the steak was all gristle so I managed a few bites and couldn’t eat no more. The cocktails were undrinkable, made us feel abit sick, the service was appalling on the fact we kept trying to get servers attention and they were too busy talking. I understand that we was the last table in the restaurant however, you still need to perform a high standard of service and quality of food, especially for the price.

We were running alittle late due to traffic, I called the restaurant to let them now our predicament and the lady we spoke to was very understanding and assured us it wouldn’t be a problem. We were sat down by the manager and he ran through how the menu worked and how to access the allergy guides. Jack came and took our order he was very helpful working through some of the allergies that my partners daughter had. The food was great as always, the chicken leg is fantastic. Jack was amazing throughout our visit and really went above my expectations in sorting out an issue we had towards the end of the meal, he’s a real credit to your restaurant.

Amazing food, staff are sometimes stretched a little thin, but their service is great. We were a large party and food arrived quickly and hot.

We had a fantastic meal at Son of Steak. The burgers were cooked to perfection, and the sides were excellent. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the exceptional service from manager Shaun. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We'll definitely be back!

Main meal was just ok. Chicken burger had more cheese and bacon than chicken... just one tiny fillet. Hallumi fries and chicken wings delicious as well as their brownie and ice cream. Service and ambience fantastic.

Shaun was an awesome host for our Stag do bottomless munch. Thanks to both Shaun and Jess for making it a great afternoon x

We came in for my neices 18th birthday and it was absolutely shocking .we ordered certain foods and was told they was not available due to running out of stock .also two people in our group had nut allergies and the waitress got the food mixed up which is not only dangerous but disgusting service. The waitress was very rude aswell and looked like she didn't want to be there. The fries were cold and the steak was quite chewy but by this time we had got fed up of trying to talk to the waitress as she made us feel very un welcome .

The steak is quite tender, however is lacking taste. I think they are under seasoned. The mac n cheese has a weird taste. The slaw is not good either. Staff is superb tho.

Food was average but cost a lot, sadly. Service was OK but it was very busy and a weekend so some leniency in that. Probably wouldn't bother again

I ordered a steak medium rare but it was served fully cooked and the steak was dry, which disappointed me. The male waiter at the front desk had a bad manners.

Hmm, not great. The girls serving were friendly but the steak was tough and overcooked. Please beware the steaks come with absolutely nothing so if you want a tiny pot of chips, bring more money. Sorry, but I won't return.

Came here with family for bottomless munch for my husbands 40th birthday yesterday. The food was the only good part about our experience, the service was slow to non existent. The soft drinks were flat, even though we told them about this it wasn't rectified. Only ONE choice of beer option which we found very strange. We had to actively find servers several times to request our drinks orders be taken, not what you want to make the best of the 'bottomless' experience! We asked for our bill 4 times and when finally received, it wasn't even our bill. Overall disappointing, only the food saving it from a 1 star review!

Came for food today with my husband this was complimentary due to a maintenance issue earlier in the week on my husband’s birthday. Management couldn’t have been more apologetic, Really appreciated this and gave us a fab night of food and drinks. Service was brilliant, food was yummy, cocktails were 10/10 atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Thank you for having us, we will be back

The steak came in way over what we ordered but since they offered to fix it right away that was not an issue. Lovely staff and a great place for dinner with friends and/or colleagues.

Went for a meal to Son of Steak the other day and have nothing bad to say about it. The food was lovely and well presented, we did not have to wait long for the food at all and the cocktails were perfect. Our server Kaci was so helpful and enthusiastic which made our experience even better. Will definitely be returning again and recommending to others.

Went for a bottomless brunch at Som of Steak and the service was exceptional! Kaci was so attentive and always made sure we had a full glass!! The food was unbelievable too with the flat iron being one of the best I’ve had, will definitely be back soon and very much hoping to have Kaci as my server again!

Stumbled upon Son of Steak when we were looking for somewhere to eat and so glad we did. We obviously hadn't booked, but they were very accommodating and the service was excellent, especially our server Jess, who was really helpful. We were able to get gluten free options really easily, and the food was delicious, the flat iron steak was the best steak we have ever had.

Update we first reviewed this place 1 star as food was shocking but after speaking to the owner Shaun he invited all 4 of us back to have food and drink on the house we went this evening 20th jan all i can say is thank you lovely food no issues came out in about 15 mins Well first time going today took 50 mins for food to come out i had the ribeye steak medium it was really fatty and raw wife's chicken burger was poor On the good side of it the waitress amelia was really pleasant
