Food was very below average to say it’s meant to be a fine dining experience. Peppercorn sauce was cold and chicken skewers were more skewer than chicken! Worst part of it all was the rude waiter. I asked the mixed race girl with braids who was our server who the waitress was that served me my food and she kept switching names between Harrison and Finlay. I don’t know wether this was a honest mistake or she just didn’t want her friend to be in trouble because his manners were at an all time low when he tried to question me about what I had ordered telling me the food I was eating wasn’t mine when it clearly was. Embarrassed and infuriated I would not return, ever. Thanks for a rubbish experience. For such an ambient restaurant the waiting staff fall devastatingly below par.

Love Brown's, my partner and myself go every now and then, always have a great time, food is always amazing too. The Sunday dinners are my favorite and was the reason we ended up going initially.

We booked a table of 7 for a family birthday yesterday. The staff were attentive to our requirement for a gluten free menu and looked after my Mum’s requirements as well as expected. However the rest of the meal was poor. We all ordered starters, only 6 arrived, we’d all finished ours before the 7th came out. And it happened again on the mains, only 6 out of 7 dishes came out, and 3 out of the 4 sides ordered didn’t come out either. Two of us had steaks which were cold, and all the fries were luke warm. The prawn linguine had only three prawns in it. We were really disappointed. The waiter blamed the kitchen, and our complaints were poorly handled. Based on last nights experience I wouldn’t go again nor recommend it.

Went for afternoon tea yesterday. Really disappointed with the value for money aspect. We have had some good food in the past from the establishment & thought it would be a bit a nice change to enjoy the experience. If you go & book afternoon tea, don't expect too much. It won't be there. Staff were lovely & attentive as usual .

Food above expectations and enjoyed. Lights turned down half was through dinner and we saw some diners using the torch on their phones to see the menu. Service staff could have helped customers more to access benches behind tables by moving them out slightly and then back again. I moved my own but did observe an older lady struggle to access a seat. Also, I do prefer that waiting staff actually write down the order in some way as it saves having to ask twice. Sorry to mention the little niggles, but these are the service items that elevate a restaurant.

First timer here. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch. Will be back again soon.

Wonderful service from Maja who went above and beyond to make the celebration of 3 birthdays in our family extra special. She is a credit to the team. The food was great too, I highly recommend the sea-bass risotto and the Shepards pie. We had a lovely evening

Visited here on Friday 18th October. I will say the service was outstanding. I know there is a cost of living etc but to pay £40 for steak that came with just fries in a metal cup and a sprinkle of watercress is taking the Mickey a little no actually a lot. I eat every weekend in Nottigham and this is I think the worst value for money thus far.

Great time at Browns Nottingham. Our food was great and the service from Maja was first class. Happy, friendly and efficient.

Great atmosphere, food was of high quality. Nice to have the pianist although a little loud as we were unable to hear each other at times. Staff serving us were very attentive. The gentleman on the welcome desk could have been happy to see us and a smile would make the welcome so much nicer. Just a suggestion, the multiple spray bottles of cleaning agent hanging from the service counter near the tables is unnecessary. Such a beautiful room and ruined by these. Also remember to serve the well presented plates from the chef with the logo at the top facing the guest. This is how he would have plates it.

Wonderful Sunday lunch at Browns Nottingham. Fabulous service from Maja who was smiley, extremely friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Great menu with a wide range of dishes to choose from. All our food was delicious. Highly recommend the sourdough as a starter for the table.

The decor and atmosphere create a really upmarket feel to your restaurant. The food is all really tasty but is also affordable. Finally your staff are friendly but don't step over the mark, making guests feel welcome and valued. It is this combination of factors that means we keep coming back.

Very Disappointing Experience - Abysmal Service We went to Browns in Nottingham for a birthday treat. It was around 18:00 and the restaurant was not busy at all. Unfortunately, the sides did not arrive with the mains. When we complained, we were told they would be a few minutes. In fact, we had completely finished our mains before they eventually arrived. We were offered only a passing apology, and still charged the 10% service charge. A very disappointing birthday experience. In future we will stick with Cote in West Bridgford.

We came to Nottingham for our nephew's wedding. We haven't been to brown's for a number of years but after our experience of a later night drink on the way to our hotel last night, we happened across Kezron the bartender. A few cocktails later, we booked to eat here tonight. Kezron was just the most affable guy. And tonight, Illias was our server and once again, the service was amazing. Food great etc. But really, these two guys are a credit to Brown's and the company should be delighted to have them in their employ.

Browns is meant to be an upscale restaurant. The decor looks great, the food is decent but everything in between is terrible. Table of 5, with young children and it was my wife’s birthday. Sit down and not a single person attends our table to even acknowledge we are there. They took water to a table of 2 that arrived after ours. I asked to make an order twice and was told to wait a minute and yet 15 minutes later no one arrived. I didn’t want to give this restaurant my money seeing as they couldn’t be bothered to recognise our existence let alone take our order. I would avoid this place as they don’t care about their service or customers at all. So many other places close by that do value customer service.

We came for dinner before a show at the Nottingham Playhouse and even though we didnt have a reservation the team found us a table. Our server Finlay was great for a chat and very helpful, and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend

Great evening here, with our best friends, we drank VC champagne and sat outside, which was a lovely area. we ordered picky bits to eat and all shared them. Very nice indeed highly recommended.

We came as a group for a work dinner. It was OK. The atmosphere is nice and elegant. We were greeted nicely, but the staff stemmed short as ordering took ages. The menu was OK, less effective for Muslims with a limited vegetarian variety. The mains were tasty I had the pea gnocchi with broccoli side (this was delicious esp the sauce). My colleagues has the lobster linguine which looked yummy. For dessert we had a variety and I liked the creme brulee (pictured) . The sticky toffee (pictured) looked great too. Overall was a good experience but I wish it had more veg options or halal ones for dinner.

We had a lovely time Friday night, food and drinks delicious. Thank you to our waitress Anna-Maria for the prompt service, as we had to get to the theatre.

We have dietary requirements and allergies and Browns were really accommodating and made sure we could eat something and felt confident that they would deal with the allergies with care. Our server (Reka) was also the loveliest person and made sure we were well looked after throughout our visit. She also recommended me a Hungarian dessert wine which she was familiar with being Hungarian herself and it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic, the gnocchi dish was outstanding!!

Great service and food, we at first thought there wasn't a lot of food but by the end we were both comfortable but not stuffed and thought the quality was good.

Have used Browns for years now. Top service from Dillon today. Good place for meetings, food and beers. Cheers mate.

Really lovely place. Went for a meal before the theatre. The service by our waiter Finley was fantastic, he really looked after us. The food was gorgeous, hot and tasty. We also had a lovely wine with the meal. Couldn't fault the place.

5 of us decided to head for breakfast so booked here. Really good food , lovely building and the prices were spot on. Great place and we'll surely visit again

We have become quite the regulars now dining here at least once a month now. Service is always fantastic, 2 members of staff stand out. The wonderful Finlay & Ryan, always greet you with a smile and a friendly welcome. The food is lovely, bring back the belly pork please!! It's worth paying that little bit extra for the setting and service. See you all soon.

Came here for a celebratory meal and had an amazing time. I had the camembert to start, followed by the chateaubriand which was delicious! It comes with fries (not pictured) and onion rings as well as your pick of two sauces. Thought it was a good portion size for a sharer. A great cocktail menu also - thoroughly enjoyed the Tommys Margarita. And the service was amazing throughout the meal!

Was an excellent meal... SLOW COOKED PORK BELLY absolutely cooked to perfection and the cauliflower cheese was delicious...but best if all was the service. On point. Visit Browns for special occasions and as a treat and it never fails to deliver good food and service. Yes you pay a premium but it’s worth the visit to get a good experience. Parking is a hassle but that’s an issue with any city centre restaurant. You can park out front and pay for parking via an app or park in the nearby NCP. Service and staff are good and food is off a really good quality. Good range of drinks on the menu and you can also make use of the casual bar at the front.

Very pretty setting, all clean nicely presented. Warm welcome when we entered but the service quickly fell flat, it was a Sunday but not very busy and the staff were very inattentive. Really disappointed. Took about 45mins to get our drinks (tea and an iced coffee) which were nice but I wasn't able to get any refills as there were no staff and no one was checking back on us. The afternoon tea was so small for the price, all the sandwiches were nice and the scones but I could've eaten double that we were served and there was no one around to order anything else. The cakes we not good, fell apart and the icing had congealed on the carrot cakes so really unpleasant texture. Waited about 20mins for the bill and gave up and walked up to the front to pay and stood around for another 5 mins. Not worth the money and I would not go back unfortunately. I had high hopes but really disappointed overall. Would've liked to give feedback in person but no one was around...

We went to Browns on a Friday evening for a work outing. We pre-booked as there was 18 in our party & choose our options beforehand. A £10 deposit per head had to be paid. On arrival we were able to have drinks at the bar before being seated. Staff were attentive, asking if more drinks required regularly & offering the option of several tabs if required. I gave the food 4 stars purely because my chicken dish was rather salty, although I did enjoy it. We did the set menu at £26.50 for 2 course & £36.50 for 3 which was brilliant value.

The food was incredible, I had the pulled lamb shepards pie...I think I've dreamed about it every night since, it was stunning. The building is beautiful with a gorgeous interior as well, it's a bit pricey but seriously worth every single penny. The waitress accommodated my 2 year old wonderfully as well, bringing her dinner early so she could eat whilst we had our starter and bought out her pudding whilst we had our main, it worked perfectly, only thing I could possibly recommend is more "child friendly" glasses, I was terrified she'd smash the cup haha, but that's the only thing I can possibly nit pick!

We booked a table for 2pm and were disappointed when we didn't receive any food for over an hour. Given that we had booked and prepaid with our orders submitted online, we expected our food to be served more promptly. The delay was frustrating and did not meet our expectations for timely service. Food on the other hand was great and we Had no issues there when it arrived

We visited Brown this evening for a meal with loads of children visiting from London from the Evelina . The Restaurant absolutely stunning and beautiful food outstanding the thing that touched my heart the most was the lovely caring waiter called Finley who went out of his way to make my son feel happy and welcome and better about himself being my Alfie hadn’t had a very good morning and was feeling a little unwell. Finley went out of his way to put a smile on my son face . I cannot thank him enough a great young man Thank you brilliant

Afternoon tea - sandwiches were dry. Had been made in the morning and covered with a damp tea towel by 3pm the tea towel must have been bone dry, like the sandwiches. Desserts and jams served in chipped pots which had sharp edges and could harbour germs in the cracks. Manager had a couldn't care less attitude, his answer was we can't keep replacing the pots. Waiter was only good thing

The three course lunch menu was superb, the hoisin duck salad and smoked salmon starters extremely refreshing, the steak main course cooked to perfection and the desserts filling. For just over £20 a head, this is a bargain. The service was excellent if a little slow, but I suspect that the team was not at full complement on the day we were there. It also felt a little more like a business venue, but lunch on a weekday is going to see more business customers in any case. I have never been to Brown's in Nottingham before, but I shall definitely be going back!

What should have been a positive experience turned out not be enjoyable. The onion rings were cold as were the fries. We did complain about the 16 oz steak which looked like 10 oz but were assured the steak was 16 oz. We order five dessert and only got four. The food arrived late for both the mains and dessert ( we bypassed the starters - just as well). However on a positive note the manager did give us a £44 discount ( took of the service charge, two waters and dessert). Overall poor food and definitely poor service. This is not something I expected from this chain of restaurants.

We had a graduation celebration meal for our daughter. The food was fabulous and our daughter was made to feel very special. Would recommend.

Appalling experience which ruined our evening celebrating my daughter’s graduation. We will never visit Browns again. Update 24.7.24: despite you saying you have replied to my previous email no email has been received.

Presentation of the afternoon tea was lovely. The male member of staff who served us what very pleasant and helpful. Some of the cake was stale and it transpires was delivered frozen and not made fresh on site, which was a disappointment. Other members of staff were cold and unhelpful.

Lovely ambience and friendly staff. We were seated within 15 minutes as walk ins and had a very tasty 2 course lunch. Could you tell me if the black seeds on the duck and watermelon salad were Nigella or black sesame seeds please? I forgot to ask the waiter!
