Nice bar food especially the wings. Kids food was also decent.

Lilily kay and Eden are a asset to the company very well welcoming and acomadating and helpfull and had great banter and where eager to help always. Besides them the mornning lady who does the breakfast is a gem besides that the rest where very rude and not very helpfull. They could do with a bigger vegan menu because I literally for two weeks was eating fish and chips or a plant burger. 🪴

Attended a work meeting & had lunch in the restaurant. Positive experience for both & would return.

Annoyed that you can't see menu unless you book a table

First visit since the change to the new 'Sunday Brunch' menu and completely underwhelmed. The starters are disappointing, veg smoothie, lots of hipster salads in masons jars, an inch of soup that resembled dirty dish water. 45 min wait for mains that were cold, dried out meat, frozen vegetables that were cold in the middle. Frozen yorkshire puddings with a horrible texture. Limited desert options of muffin or parfait. Tables were mixed up leading to the long wait. The staff discussed this 3 feet from us and not one came over to explain the delay or appologise. Food only came out when chased and had clearly been sat under the heat lamp for some time. Would not recommend, not a patch on when Stuart was running the kitchen.

This restaurants was one of my favourites for Sunday Roast. My family and I went yesterday for the first time since it was refurbished. The décor was awful! It has completely changed into an American style sports bar. it is okay if you like that kind of thing but not a nice place to go for a nice Sunday Carvery. The food on the carvery has gone down hill. There were only 2 meat choices. The Brussel sprouts were frozen and the roast potatoes were new potatoes done in the oven, very hard and rubbery on the outside. The food was very bland. I am so sad one of my fave restaurants has gone!

After seeing adverts for an unlimited Sunday roast, we couldn't resist a visit to the newly refurbished Verve Grill. We booked through the online system but when we arrived they couldn't find the booking but after 20 mins they found us a table. We were then told the unlimited carvery had stopped. What? Available all day Sunday but now not available - not happy- we had to have burgers instead. We sent one back to the kitchen as it was very pink and underdone but the chef very quickly rectified the problem. Overall a very expensive meal in the middle of football madness, with the big screens. Don't think i'd hurry back.

I stay at the hotel once a week as the rooms are decent for Warrington. I've eaten here once before and it was very average. Again I was late arriving so opted for the hotel resteraunt. Sent the main back. Under cooked prawns (that were sent back out to me by the chef to say they were cooked) I send them back again with the over cooked tough beef kebab. Seriously don't bother. No wonder it's dead every day of the week. Terrible.

I had the hummus platter to start, followed by the chickpea and spinach curry. Both were excellent and the service was great. Our server was Betty. 10/10

God food,good service ,Sunday all you can eat carvery fantastic value and you can eat till your full.

Initially looking at the menu I thought it's going to be the usual high price/low amount of food, but then came the starter and then the main and halfway through it I was full. Then I decided I need to try the deserts and the lovely Grace advised I should go for the Chocolate Fudge cake. The rest is history - I need to run 5k to get my abs back... Speaking of Grace, it's been a while since I've last seen anyone so kind and sweet in this kind of restaurants. If you ever get the chance to stop in there for a meal, pray to god it's her that treats you. You won't be disappointed. Really hope she gets treated the same way she treats the visitors.

I was expecting an average meal but overpriced. I have to admit I was wrong. We opted for the set menu which was far better value than the al a carte but limited in choice. The staff are attentive and professional and the food we received was better than expected.

I don’t usually eat in the restaurant of the hotel I’m staying in, they are seldom very good. This didn’t help me to change my mind I’m afraid. I can’t fault the hotel, or the bar food in the “pub” side, but can’t recommend the restaurant here. We were three guys (work colleagues) on Valentines Night. The place was empty which wasn’t a good sign. I was persuaded by one of the guys to try it and plumped for the kebab. It came out with all the meat and vegetables so over cooked they span on the skewer. One of the guys didn’t get his side dish until we had finished. I also think it’s expensive for what you get.

Put my review in the hotel section because initially I couldn’t find the restaurant listed. Not sure it’s still called Verve. On arrival at The Grill the lady that greeted us was instantly annoyed that we’d booked the round table for 9 people. She was abrasive to say the least. This was a belated birthday celebration but we felt awkward and at first didn’t quite understand the problem. We requested the round table when booking. Eventually we sat down, the same lady took our drinks order and informed us that the table was available for just 2 hours! I think this should have been mentioned when booking. We notice the the staff worked hard, but if we hadn’t cleared our own plates away(putting them on the window ledge for collection) we would have been there much longer. We felt some pressure on time and aware we overstayed our welcome by 30 minutes or so. The food itself was very nice, only one thing, the Eton Mess had little or no meringue in it. It would have been a nice family get together on Easter Sunday except for the unwelcome reception, this wasn’t a good way to greet people. I’m paying good money to eat and enjoy a family gathering not listen to a receptionist have a moan, it’s not professional either. I would hesitate to go again.

Came here today, brilliant food, service was a little slow to be honest but you must wait for all good things in life. Got the fillet steak it was very expensive but all is good because my dad is rich and gives me money anyway. THE STAFF oh Boy... Let me tell you, there was 1 boy working serving me, I believe his name was Danny. He was great, looked very smart in his salmon pink shirt, very polite and even poured my drink for me. Brilliant service.

£14.95 for all you can eat carvery. The main carvery meal on 28/1/18 was gorgeous, all meat and veg cooked to perfection. Good choice of starters, including soup served to your table. Just the desserts disappointing. New advertised Mega ice cream sundry is nothing but ice cream and a few 100/1000’s in a bowl, whilst the waffle machine seems to have been replaced by the sundry. Other desserts of chocolate mousse and lemon mousse advertised as cheesecake nice, but served every week for at least the last twelve months. How about a cake option? Very friendly staff, just always seems to be one or two waiting on staff short of what the restaurant requires during a busy period.

Don't bother. DJ didn't even turn his equipment on, it started smoking. At this point, if the DJ can't sort, the hotel should act to provide alternative means. Did they, no! Waitress wouldn't serve starter just because we were 5 minutes late. Just... no... very poor. If I ever hear any event at Village Hotel again, I'll just be... no thanks.

If you want a witherspoons below a tarted up premier inn this will do fine , just expect to pay through the nose for nothing special , overpriced drinks and food , no quality anywhere on the drink or food side just overpriced , glad to be near a value restaurant over the road

Been about three times now and all 3 experiences have been completely different. Food mostly excellent, good tastes and plenty of it. Staff on all occasions have not been attentive (have to be asked to clear your table and then you have to go and find them and when you do - they are usually all talking to one another and the back of the till area). There is no urgency to clear your table when they should. They appear untrained and a bit headless, its a shame because they are lovely young girls and what is average could be great. I also think the management are probably responsible because they are a bit autocratic when talking to the staff which we don't like to see and they do not appear to want to be part of the team.

We ate at "The Verve Grill" when we stayed at the attached hotel and the food was excellent, I can strongly recommend that Chicken kiev, sticky toffee pudding and the crème brulé (by far the best crème brulé I've ever had) The wait staff are attentive but discreet, friendly but professional. At this point I'd like to single out one of the staff members as being exceptionally good, a lady by the name of Beata, she managed to strike the perfect balance between being available but unobtrusive, friendly and professional not to mention very quick and efficient in dealing with requests.

Tried to book by phone via reception. Told fully booked until evening. Called in and found I had a choice of tables all afternoon. Able to easily book for five people. They nearly missed out on a booking for five. Thats £75 plus drinks. However carvery was ok for the price.Choice of starters and soup which were ok. Carvery was generous with the meats and there was a limited choice of vegetables. Choice of four sweets which were quite tasty. This carvery was not as good as it used to be in my opinion but ok for the cost of it.The plastic dishes used to serve the starters and desserts are really a bit naff. Where are the glass dishes?. Staff were excellent and restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Will use again and use my members discount.

I have been here on several occasions. The restaurant serves traditional english breakfast in the morning as buffet and regular meals during lunch and dinner time. The food is good, yet not outstanding. Last time I had seafood as a dinner meal, which was decent, fresh and not overcooked. A colleague had lamb which was fine as well.

A reasonabley varied menu, very good food and our server Alice was attentive and helpful. All in all a very good venue and worth a second visit.

I had a sirloin steak. Cooked exactly to requested standard and the best couple of pints of Guinness that I've had this side of Dublin.The peppercorn sauce was a delicious coupling to the beautifully cooked steak with wonderful presentation, much like the beautiful waitress that served me. Thank you kindly to Alice a polite and kind woman who perfectly complimented the fantastic service provided!The desert too was well presented and proportionally perfect.Service was quick and accommodating. We were staying in the hotel on a deal that included a 2 course dinner. Good choice of starters, mains and deserts. Starters of ribs was very good and the healthy salmon main was delicious. Service was excellent with very friendly staff. Looking forward to eating here again.

A very cheap carvery, served slithers of meat, offered up half empty vegetable dishes to try and help yourself from. Entres and Deserts served in nasty plastic dishes, that come free when you buy from Iceland. Food wasnt special, but the waiting on staff were nice and pleasant. This is quite an expensive restaurant but I bought a Wowcher voucher for £19 for which there was a set menu. The choice wasn't great but we had chicken Kiev with mashed potato. It was delicious. We also had a bottle of house wine for £10. The staff were very attentive and polite. All in all a good choice.

We were staying here as going to Creamfields & grabbed a couple of burgers from here. Home made & very tasty, with decent fries too.

Visiting on business and in life I am generally wowed by food in restaurants anywhere let alone in a hotel restaurant. All credit to whoever put the menu together and to the chef tonight I am delighted with the meal and I can hear compliments to the chef coming from other tables too. The staff are exceptional so in conclusion yes your paying more than you may locally but I will make this hotel a stop whenever I pass or am in Warrington- very happy customer

The food is good and well presented though somewhat overpriced. Staff are very attentive... but beware booking and paying in advance if you are staying in the hotel... make sure you have copies of all your booking special offers and paperwork as these could well not show up on their records.

Tonight we dined at The Village Hotel in The Verve Grill.I had the same as my husband, the 7oz beef burger with fries and a side of relish. The burger was serve with a portion of bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce and red onions.The fries came in a little metal tub and were surprisingly quite filling considering they were skinny fries. Served red hot as well!The burger was the size of my head and very juicy! It was thick and grilled to perfection.For dessert I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding with a caramel sauce and pecan nuts, with a side of vanilla ice cream. It was very very sweet, so a small portion was defiantly enough because of the sugar content!My husband had the Chocolate Moose with honeycomb sprinkles and cream. The moose wasn’t as sweet as the sticky toffee pudding so I believe that’s why it came in a bigger portion.The mains were approximately £15 each and desserts £3.95 each. Drinks were very expensive, but it is a hotel. A pint of stella was £4.10.I would visit The Verve Grill again as the food and staff were spot on.

There were 23 of us which descended on this restaurant for a special occasion. There was another large group in at the same time but this didn't affect the service in anyway. The food was of great quality. We ate off the set menu which was 2 courses for £15 and this was exceptional value.The only downfall was that we were expected to go to the bar for drinks - although it saved any awkwardness at bill stage so I suppose it wasn't too bad an idea.

We took advantage of the special offer - eat as much as you like..... I must say the food was OUTSTANDING, the very young inexperienced staff were very very polite and helpful, BUT, clearly not trained properly and spent to much time talking to one another and everything was done in slow motion. I did notice two managers or senior staff (one with a reddish beard) who had no idea what was happening right under their noses, they gave of the feeling that "they were the bosses, look at me". Not pleasant when they should be motivating and teaching their staff to do better. I am not surprised about the managers non Chalont attitudes as I have reported several times to the reception team, that they consistently allow non blue badge holders to park in the disabled bays and 6 complaints later they are still allowing it. I would like to eat there again, as the food was great, so here's hoping something happens, I will post my results what ever the outcome

Nous avons hautement apprécié le cadre et la nourriture du Verve Grill lors de notre séjour. Les moules-frites sauce vin blanc et chorizo, le dos de cabillaud à la poêle et le carpaccio d'ananas ont ravis nos palais.

I arrived here early so was offered the 3 courses for around 13 pounds option...... silly to miss out on this at it was food off the main menu i wanted anyway! The food was all fairly nice, I had great service but it was quiet at the time. The real downside was that i charged the meal to my room, when i checked out I had a service charge added to my bill!! I left a tip on the table in cash! not to happy about that!!!

Visited here with my partner, we waited 20 minutes at the bar being ignored by a young member of staff numerous amounts of times to then find out that the restaurant is closed for an event, I am not sure why it took that long for a member of staff to realise that we were waiting. Disappointed

We are members of the Velocity gym here and with a special offer of 25% discount we had to try it. We weren't disappointed, menu choices and food first class although a bit pricey. New 500 calorie menu excellent, tiger prawns in pasta with spinach in a lemon cream sauce or the steak especially nice. The ham hock terrine to start with was to die for! Thanks to Christian and the chef for this amazing menu!

Really disappointed. Food took ages to come.... Arrived luke warm, bland and boring. The stroganoff was like minute steak with one chopped mushroom added with a dollop of sour cream on the side. Just really poor.

We stayed on a dinner,bed and breakfast deal for £79. This also included full use of the leisure suite. What impressed me most was the 3 course evening meal deal in the restaurant. the choice was limited but the choices were to my liking. The food was excellent, the staff good and the whole experience was enjoyable. would deffinately recommend.

It was a very good experience. There is a verybgood choice of food and the price ia reasonable. The pudding is great!

The chef was happy to provide more veg for my wife to the table when they had ran out of Carrots.Waiting staff friendly and attentive, and everyone bent over backwards to assist my wife in finding what was and wasn't Gluten Free on the menu.Desert was very good, in both size and quality!

4 generations of the family went here for my mother's 90th birthday.They were kind enough to open it when they would normally be closed.Everybody enjoyed their food, and drink.Prices were reasonable.Service was friendly.Went as well as we had hoped.

Amazing choice and food was exceptional. My wife is vegetarian and we struggle to find venues that serve vegetarian food without spice. Most venues need to place spice in the food to ensure this has some flavour. However the Village restaurant had numerous choices and exceptional food. The price was reasonable and the service was amazing!!!!!

Food was delicious although range somewhat limited to steaks, burgers and grills. The service was excellent. Evidently the place is popular locally because on the second night people were being turned away if they had not booked. Early evening menu is cheaper, great quality and quantity and the place is quieter.

The food was amazing with great portion sizes, staff were lovely and made our meal fantastic! We were shocked by how cheap the bill came to, we will definitely be returning if we are in the area again!

Went for Sunday lunch, decent buffet style roast dinner with numerous extras including large choice of starters and desserts. Probably best value in Warrington on a Sunday.However some negative points which may sound trivial but worth mentioning.Why is this the only village hotel that insists on set times for a Sunday Dinner? You either need to book for 12.30 (too early for us) or 3pm (too late), yet every other Village allows you to turn up anytime after 12.30 pm and no difference in food quality.With doors open on Sunday cos of heat, numerous flies around the buffet. Appreciate this cannot be helped, but the staff made no effort to try and move them. Several remained on an iced dessert for duration of my time in the restaurant.

Went on a offer from living social. Surroundings are pleasant. Looming at menu quite expensive but it is in a nice hotel. Strange that waiters/waitresses were in Jeans/casual clothing. Food quick to be served and average quality. Strange we had to go back outside to reception to pay. Mistake on bill as deal had free glass of wine which was originally put on bill. Removed when asked however not even an apology from supervisor was serving us. In fact her manner was sharp and snooty. Wouldn't go back as better value places where service is much more pleasant.

Upon arrival at the restaurant was greeted by an adolescent youth dressed in jeans and an untucked (unironed) polo shirt. I was told that there were no tables available for 15 minutes, so I waited at the bar which was fine. When I got into the restaurant I was a bit puzzled about the wait as there were a lot of empty tables - I assume the chef or waiting staff cannot cater for the restaurant when it's full. Waitress took my order (again, a teenager in a tshirt and trousers) although at least she was a bit smarter than the waiter.I ordered gnocchi with a side order of sweet potato fries. Based on my previous gnocchi experience it's never enough for a main dish. And I was right. The portion was pretty small and not quite warm enough. The sweet potato fries were nice though.There wasn't a lot of choice on the menu, mainly burgers and steaks or ribs. The restaurant was also quite cold with an eclectic mix on the stereo. Probably won't come back for the price or atmosphere.

Horrendous service, bad attitude by staff. Bad food! Watery, greasy and made us ill. Knowingly served mousse that had split. Just went from bad to worse!

This used to be a great place to go for a steak -- the menu is poor its limited and its not worth it. if you have no other option but to eat here go in the bar and buy a burger.

Reviewed this with a De Vere village review. Absolutely outstanding food. Service amazing, lovely staff. Would definitely use this again.

Had a reservation yet still kept waiting for 15 mins - had to remind them at which point they took me over to one of the many empty tables (it was late). Food then took 30 mins to arrive. Went for the fillet steak which was pretty good in itself although definitely overdone given I asked for medium to well. Was disappointed that it only came with one accompaniment (choice of chips, salad, etc.). The price put me off getting a dessert, but the staff were friendly, if a little young and inexperienced. Overall I would say the prices suggest this restaurant is trying to be something its not. The menu is also limited, and as far as I can tell there were no veggie options (surely a must for any restaurant these days?).

Lovely pub type venue offering varied menu - although we didn't eat food looked fab. Music very loud and unnecessary which made it difficult to chat but nice place.

Hotel restaurants are always a little hit and miss, but this one is definitely a miss. The service was friendly, but very slow. The menu had some interesting options by 'grill' standards, but sadly they did not deliver. Starter portions were insignificant, the salt and pepper squid was measly and cold by the time it got to the table. The chicken and veg broth was also on edging cold. The flat iron steak was overly fatty and chewy and the chips were soggy, as they had been served on the plate with the steak and were floating in its juices. Serving them in a side bowl may have saved them a little, but even then, they didn't seem fresh. The salmon main was over-cooked. Overall, overpriced and very disappointing.

A typical hotel bar, although due to it being focussed on sport, not always to everyone's taste, TVs everywhere and volume up when games are on. Outdoor drinking terrace, booths for group meetings, average food and drink but a definite if sports watching and drinking is your thing!

Excellent value cavery on Sunday's excellent choices for starters, main meal and puddings, plus you can each as much as you like. Nice relaxing place. If you do over eat a walk around the lake is lovely, you wouldn't think you were in the middle of Warrington

Been going to this restaurant for 5 plus years and am always happy, food is good quality both at evenings and carvery and have never had any problems, they have a new menu that is very different to the others as less steaks and more other meats and fish that suits me, Prices are average for restaurants on normal menu but have started doing a meal deal on Friday and Saturday nights where 2 people can eat 3 courses for £30 great value as can spend more on drink.staff are friendly and always give us a warm welcome most have been here a while and recognize us one lady who has been there since we started going always takes the time to ask us how we are and we enjoy the atmosphere, Would recommend the visit to anyone just wish I'd known about trip advisor sooner

Not as good as it used to be during 2010 with less choice but still very very good and well worth a visit even though expensive.

I went to the VERVE many times on Sunday because they have a wonderful carvery. Apart from the price, that is really good, they have a wide choice of vegetables, salads and dessert. Also they have a good selection of dishes for vegetarian, you can choose pasta or fish and the chef prepares your dish at the moment. The food is really fresh, the meat is tender and there are a lot of sauces for salads and meat. In addition they proposed a Waffle stand in which you can have a fresh waffle as dessert together with fruit or cream or chocolate siroups. I tried many carveries in UK but this one is surely one of the best. It is worth a visit.

Visited on numerous occassions, whilst it is a hotel chain the food is really nice and fresh on the carvery buffet. Excellent additional choices included in price like soup, pasta and numerous desserts. Just do not understand why sittings are now at set times on a Sunday rather than all afternoon.
