The Raven Inn Restaurant in Warrington

After visiting The Raven Inn for the first time today, I can hand on heart say that it is one of the cosiest pubs with lovely bar staff and some of the best pub grub about! Attentive staff, quick service and really reasonably priced too! We’ll definitely be coming back, thank you for your great hospitality! 😁 (Don’t listen to the bad reviewers they clearly have no taste!) x

Everything about the Raven was fantastic. The food was the best we had this year and we have had a few meals out at various places.

Great little pub, home cooked style food. Only a small pub so you have to book on the busy days. Braised beef was excellent.

Great food, great service, staff friendly and helpful, had a great evening and would definitely go again. Highly recommended

Missus wanted a Sunday lunch and I must be one of the only people in the country that doesn’t really enjoy them! Anyway called in here as have driven past a few times and looked nice from the outside. All I can say is I’m converted! It was excellent and the service was very good all in all very impressed and may even treat the missus again!

We went in the week it reopened. We weren't impressed. But we said we would come again once the teething problems had been sorted. Granddaughter asked for a burger. Nope, they are out of burgers. Really? Her 2nd choice, gammon. Nope, they are out of that too. Chicken in peppercorn was rank. Overall, just DONT GO.

The Raven Inn is one of my new fave places to eat and drink. The staff are all great and friendly. The food is epic The pub is cozy and clean. You won't ever be disappointed here

Great place for Sunday lunch but you must book a few days in advance.

Excellent local community pub. Hadn't been for years but will go back soon.

Fabulous food. The chips were divine. Went with friends for lunch. Waiter, young male, was so attentive. Atmosphere great. Shame a very aggressive prison officer came in the pub and shouted loudly at the waiter over a personal matter outside of the establishment. The prison officer was very arrogant. He could have taken the young waiter to one side and been discreet, but chose not to. I hope the pub bans him. The clientele in there were shocked at his anger and actions towards the young male waiter. Top marks to the waiter, he dealt with the matter very calmly and professionally.

I can hand on heart say we will never go back to eat here! I don't want to be mean but it's a great looking place that won't survive if they don't up their game! Both had a Sunday roast and my wife's beef was cut the wrong way and was so chewy we had to send it back and didn't pay for it. My roast chicken was a roasted fillet, sliced. Chewy and tasteless... when you have a roasted chicken dinner you expect it to be cut from the bone! Bland untrimmed baby carrots, soft mushy broccoli, very lumpy watery mash and roast potatoes pale and soft which i know had never seen any oil, and the Yorkshire pudding was never made that day, it was a chewy burnt leftover one. To top it all, tasteless powdery watery gravy... I left 2 thirds of it but still paid in full as I couldn't be bothered anymore. If a place can't get a simple roast dinner right, it's a sad situation in mine and my wife's (who is a chef) opinion! It really was, THE worst roast dinner ever, no love in it at all... never again!

Popped in for a drink as traffic was really bad. Ended up having food, which was amazing. Staff really friendly. A few seats outside and dogs welcome.

Lovely selection of food and drink all freshly prepared. So thankful to have this building saved and brought back to life.

The menu has been changed again this is what we like about the Raven. Changes to menu and always different specials on the board. Highly recommended. We walk from Cadishead across the moss and conservation area.

Got breakfast put on for an event. Food lovely, excellent service. The little girl was so kind, even got her colouring book and pencils for my son, a real credit to her parents. Look forward to coming back for a meal in the near future.

It was comfortable, relaxing and the staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Kitchen was closed when arriving but menu looks very nice and will definitely be ordering food next time of visiting.

Great service. Our first time on Saturday night. My wife and I went past the raven, and I made a comment that we should call in for a drink on the way back from the black Swan But the black Swan had a function on so we decided to call in the raven. Now, this is on our list for our date nights, thanks to the cheeky blonde chip thief .lol Stuart & Denise

We arrived at 4 30PM told no booking needed cud for us in at 5.30PM we wasn't happy so was going to leave after our drinks then staff came over and took our order The food was delicious service was fantastic great surroundings especially the church facing

Just celebrated my 54th birthday at the raven inn today (31.5.24) the food is very nice, tasty and hot, the menu is not massive but is a good selection, the staff are very well presented, polite and have good knowledge of the menu and specials board, I would definitely recommend this place

Went for lunch again today. We ate their fish and chips, absolutely delicious. It's a lovely place with great staff. I highly recommend Raven Inn.

Took a friend for lunch at The Raven today. The food, the service and the atmosphere was just great. Really impressed. I had the soup with salad which was lovely. Friend had the goats cheese on Ciabata which she loved. I honestly thought I made the best Brownie in England. Not any more. The Brownie with cream was the best Ive ever tasted! Will be going here instead of The Green Dragon or Bents in future. Just lovely!

Community run pub with a great atmosphere. We went to try the quiz as our usual one had finished. Great choice of beet wines and spirits lovely staff the pork pies are good too. We are definitely going again!!

Great food, plated attractively and tasty too. Table and bar service prompt and staff friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. No music and TV a welcome change with good old fashioned conversation and time to socialise with friends and family instead. Thank you 'The Raven' I would definitely recommend a visit.

Visited the pub after reopening, and wasnt dissapointed. Totally changed since last time we called, as it did close down. Lovely food and the staff were brilliant, quick and friendly. I was even given a sheet with details of the original building and the life it has had along the way. Very interesting reading. Now a community pub i hope it continues to do well. Really good to see this place back open. The atmosphere and what they have done with the place is amazing. A really warm and welcoming place with with great food.

Took my mum and younger brother last night as I went around Christmas and was impressed. They both loved it, the food is fresh and delicious and we couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly, attentive and accomodating and the pub atmosphere is very cosy and welcoming. We will definitely be back after a very enjoyable night at a lovely pub! 🥰

We had the Steak & Ale Pie + Braised Steak, both with mash & veg. It was absolutely outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection, I personally had the pie which was the best Steak & Ale Pie I've ever had. Reasonably priced too. The staff are very friendly too, with excellent service all round, and didn't have to wait long either. Highly Recommended

On the main road, just outside of Culcheth. Nice real fire and original beams. On entering very nice staff were at hand to see to us. We ordered Lager and small bottle of Prosecco (very nice), and then perused the menu. The menu is not expansive but has all the good options. I went for one of the specials, pulled lamb, veg and mash with my lady having the cheese pie (delicious). We were at lunch on a Saturday and there were few empty tables. I’ve marked the atmosphere at three but it quite well have been different on another day. Toilet’s were nice and seating good. Will definitely put on list for a return visit.

Visited for a birthday meal. Happily accommodated us when I phoned to ask if they were Dog Friendly (which they are) they reserved a table for us which was very good of them. Food was DELICIOUS! very reasonably priced and great service. Would happily visit again!

Booked a table of 10 for a birthday was asked if we could pre order our food as it was a large table which we did no problems order was dropped off the day before in the bar , the table was booked for 4pm the first starter came out at 40 mins later and the last main at 5:40 most the food was a poor standard at best there was items that were not Available but we had to ask to be told there was none , a side that came out 20 mins after the main course and a crumble pudding with no crumble on top all In all a terrible experience and something none of our group will be returning to go through again , It’s a shame as the place is nice and friendly

First visit. Excellent home cooked food. We had steak pie chips & veg, braised steak, mash and veg. Both were really good. Highly recommend. Great service.

I had lunch, with a friend, on the 31st January. I cannot fault a thing. It is a fact that the building is incredible. The atmosphere was warm, friendly and welcoming. Both the feel of the place and the staff. The service was spot on. The beer was rather good and our respective meals top class. To be recommended 👍

Visited in December the food was delicious, all homecooked. I had the roasted lamb and then finished it off with the chocolate brownie, it was lovely. Will definitely be going back. If you dont enjoy the food here, you should probably cook you're own food at home in future. I honestly can't recommend enough. The only downside to the place is that they let dogs in which I thinks a bit unhygienic when foods around. They have a dog free section but I still believe food shouldn't be served around animals.

I was on a bad date last night with a man who was not nice at all!! I informed the staff and they kept checking up on me to makesure i was safe and OK and I can't thank them enough for there support in the situation. Two blonde girls I'm sorry I did not take your names thankyou for supporting me before I made my exit swiftly ❤️ food was lovely and the wine !!! Shame about the company

I was looking forward to trying the food here but had a disappointing experience. After being seated and waiting ten minutes for a menu we were asked for the drinks order which was taken, a short time later the member of staff who had taken the order came back and asked my daughter for ID ( she’s 30 years old ) she didn’t have ID with her so that was that no lager shandy for her. “Rules are rules “said the staff member despite it being legal to drink alcohol with a meal from the age of 16. Overall a disappointing experience

Lovely quiet pub, the staff were friendly and polite. And it was a nice evening. Went there with my friend and enjoyed the beer on cask, which was a small but lovely selection. Will definitely be re-visiting in the future.

Perfect. Came with my sister and friend. Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious. We were given a leaflet with historical facts about the building and area .It was so interesting. We will be back !

Not a huge food selection but there was enough, I had fish & chips which was delicious and the price seemed very fair. They also have a good range of gins, rums, wines and beers. Went in December and the place was well decorated with fires lit so felt very cosy.

We were hoping to order from the festive fayre menu detailed on the website. 2 courses for £20, 3 for £25 but it didn't seem to exist. No one bothered to speak to us when we arrived for at least 4 mins. Food was average despite visiting 3 weeks ago and thought it was excellent. Maybe under pressure over the festive season.

Attended this lovely refurbished pub for an Xmas meal out with friends and didn't disappoint, the food was lovely, the ambiance very pleasing and will definitely visit again.

It took an hour for our order to arrive. Service was disorganised at best, the table next to us were on their third course by the time ours arrived, despite arriving at a similar time, and even the drinks were slow to arrive. The food was very good, and a great job has been made of refurbishing the old pub. I‘d like to go back, but not if I have to wait such a long time.

Only called in with some friends for a couple but was allowed to sit on a table till reserved time in front of the log burner. Will come back for food as smelt amazing.

Gorgeous pub, lovely atmosphere, oldy worldy, clean and cosy! Food was lovely although disappointed with toddlers chicken nuggets as they were mainly batter. Disappointed with service as no one greeted us and then once we had sat and organised 2 high chairs, was asked to move for the table to be given to another family who had not booked. Waitress who dealt with us was unfriendly. Meant to be table service but slow. Otherwise a lovely visit and would hope to visit again to more welcoming staff members! The waitress who served us later on was lovely and friendly.

A wonderful old pub saved by the locals. Lovely interior, and cask conditioned beers drawn by handpump. It being a cloudless cold day, we welcomed the log burner!

Had a lovely Sunday tea here. Was only a limited menu due to how busy it had been in the day but the food we were served was homecooked and tasty Would like to try other options on the menu as they sounded tasty Highly recommend

Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Food service and presentation excellent. Plenty of spaces and dog friendly "first puppy and first pub ever with a family pet" relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend and well worth a visit.

Wow so on point they asked about what you about anything you were allergic to .produced amazing food to suit my allergy. Staff so friendly and helpful ! Building So much history adds to ambiance!! We definitely will return the community pub excellence in every aspect. Thank goodness you saved and made a wonderful contribution. Thank you x

Went with family to celebrate mum's special birthday and couldn't fault the place. Staff were very attentive, food was fabulous. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Visited Raven Inn on Mon 16th Oct with a couple of friends for tea, absolutely lovely atmosphere true country pub feel, food was excellent, not had such good food in a long time when eating out, service very friendly, great natural brick decor, very warm feeling we have booked for Christmas Set menu in December, well done to everyone who saved such a gorgeous building and best wishes for a bright future. Definitely worth a visit, highly recommended thankyou everyone

The pub is beautiful! Well done to all that saved it. It is the perfect place to stop for a drink with friends, or a sunday lunch. It will be super cosy in the winter when the fires are lit. We visited over the weekend, staff were friendly, food was good. However we were disappointed with the Pudding. We all chose the crumble and we wish we had not! It was a sloppy fruit compote with a thin layer of crumble. Which, after a fantastic lunch, was a let down. However, it will not stop us from returning very soon.

On this night the service was VERY slow. The food ordered had obviously been standing under a heat source for some time prior to 'eventually' being delivered to the table. If there was a shortage of staff this should have been communicated.

Newly renovated and refurbished back to original as much as possible. Wonderful inside and out. Had a warm welcome and excellent service, with a wide choice of drinks and decent portions of tasty food we had a great night.

Went for lunch. I understand this place was saved by the local community and recently reopened. It is still finding its feet a little it seems (not quite as slick as an established pub), but the food was lovely (typical pub grub and a decent choice), reasonably priced, fairly quick to arrive, and the staff were friendly. I would definitely come again. I hope it will go from strength to strength.
