Peacock in Warrington

Came here for some drinks with family on our sons 18th. Our son was treated so well by the staff, and had an amazing time(as did we all). Regular customers (whom we had never met before) even joined in our celebrations! The food was delicious too. An absolutely brilliant time and amazing bar staff.

All the staff and Sasha , the landlady are so friendly and welcoming.. especially for our Open Mic nights

Food and venue were good. There was some confusion over my booking my table, but it got sorted. No hostess to greet you.

Staff were friendly, service was pretty slow considering it was very quiet, jacket potatoes very dry and most of the food wasn’t very hot. Pretty disappointed, doubt we would visit again.

Food was tasty. Service was very slim, we were at least an hour between starters and main course, with no update or apology for delay from staff. When the food did arrive (one of the meals was wrong and had to be redone), and we mentioned the long delay there was also no explanation or apology. This wasn’t our first visit, but this time it was very disappointing

I wish I had checked all of the reviews before going here. A sudden flurry of excellent reviews gave a false account. One person reviewed this pub twice using the same words just putting different dates - lets get real. Check the real reviews. This pub is dreadful. The food took forever to arrive and the quality was appalling. I asked for an extra side of chips. These came cold in a soup bowl and less than a handful nearly £4. My sandwich was stale with a tiny filling and my colleagues meal was cold greasy and inedible. The wort part was when we tried to complain. The response was over assertive at best, rude and unhelpful. The woman actually picked up one of my chips with her fingers to feel if it was warm. We work on the local business park and were planning on booking for a Christmas get together for 20 people. Not an option; they could not even get two meal right. Poor quality, poor service and even poorer management Fudging reviews to falsely attract people is very very poor Marsdens, shame on you

This used to be my favourite local pub / restaurant but the quality has decreased massively. I only had fish and chips, the chips and peas had obviously been left under heaters for a good while, nothing was fresh, daughter had pizza which was lovely. It is now massively overpriced for awful quality. The place was not busy enough to warrant food not cooked fresh. Will not be returning, I have also spent all morning feeling very poorly and sick. I was here for my birthday and due to sickness I have been forced to pull out of the local half marathon

I've been here a number of times and it never disappoints me. Great food, great customer service and great atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone

Went to quiz night at the Peacock on Thursdays and it’s the best quiz night ever! Such a laugh. Plus food was great, service great. Had a fab night.

Harry was a great help at the bar, Sion was super friendly and did a great job of keeping us all laughing and happy, kudos to Sasha too on her rocky road for my son 👏

Debby and the team make our Sunday lunches very enjoyable. The food is excellent but the service is beyond exceptional.

We visited today for Sunday lunch. We both enjoyed excellent roast lunches cooked by Charlotte. Service by Shaun both behind the bar and at the table was faultless

Debby served us and was really lovely. Food was nice, 2 adults and 2 kids and every plate empty at the end. Nice atmosphere on a Sunday evening although ran out of Sunday roasts and steaks so if you're picky ring ahead.

Been going to the peacock for around 2 years, always had a friendly welcome. Food was fine, average for a pub, reasonably priced. Recent changes in staff give a mixed result. There aren’t enough staff behind the bar and the bloke has a terrible attitude, actually arguing with a customer today in front of everyone insisting he was right and implying she was lying about her shopping habits. It’s not the first time he’s been snotty, he shouldn’t work with the public!

Second visit to the peacock today following a bit of shopping. We ordered the soup of the day, which was leek and potato and the cheeseburger. Both of which were cooked to perfection. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

I'm only giving a one star as we waited 70 mins for food on a Monday. Other diners that came in after us were served before us, when questioned waitress looked stunned like she didn't know what we were talking about and then the staff said salad was quicker ( they came in half an hour after us) We were offered a dessert free and if you saw the size you would laugh ..the smallest piece of cheesecake you have ever seen ( I think as they offered it as a consolation for the food being 70mins late they gave a small tiny portion, it was not the size on the menu) I was very disheartened at this point so i didnt say anything as that was definitely not worth the £5.99 menu price. I will try again in the future and hopefully they can improve as it has a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Visited today. Family of four with a dog in the beer garden. Food was lovely. We had the donner flatbread and salt and chilli flatbread. Boys had pizza and burger. All very nice. Big shout out to the lovely staff especially Debbie who went above and beyond and also helped me with my husband when he went hypo. Thanks.

As always it's a challenge finding somewhere gluten free and safe for my coeliac daughter. I gave them a call before we booked to check it's possible for them to cater for her and they were nothing but brilliant. Every member of staff that I spoke to regarding her meal was so helpful and reassured me that all the safety measures were put it place for her to eat safely and not be ill. Fantastic experience for us as we struggle to eat out as a family without worrying about her getting sick afterwards. Definitely recommend to fellow coeliacs! She enjoyed sausages, chips and gravy and followed that with ice cream, chocolate sauce and a flake. We will definitely be back, thanks so much!

Excellent experience for a family lunch. Special mention to Sion who helped us pick from the menu taking care of allergies and who was really friendly and helpful. Great food and warm welcome from staff, would highly recommend.

Love this pub. Management and staff are all really friendly. One member of staff really stands out and that's Sion. His happy and pleasant personality sends out a lovely vibe and makes you feel really welcome. The rest of the staff are also very pleasant as well and do a good job. We pop in for a snack now and again and we're never disappointed. Tables are always full with people eating which says a lot. Well done to Sasha.

Staff went above and beyond. Made sure to let me know that my gluten free order was prepared separately in the kitchen and that my cutlery was rewashed before being brought to the table. My GF Bangers, mash, peas and gravy were delicious and so was the apple crumble and ice cream! I highly recommend the Peacock. Staff are lovely, too!

During my recent visit to The Peacock had the pleasure of experiencing not just great food but also the exceptional skills of a particular kitchen staff member, Ellie. Their talent and dedication were evident in every dish that came out of the kitchen, making my dining experience truly remarkable. Our sever Sion was attentive without being overbearing, checking in at just the right moments to refill drinks and ensure everything was to our liking. They managed to strike that perfect balance of being friendly and professional, making us feel welcome and well cared for.

Amazing atmosphere, wide range of drink selections, food is beautiful and decent priced. Sion is a lovely person and very focused on customers.

Always my favourite place to go when I have some free time, delicious food, beautiful decor, and the staff cannot be faulted for anything. I was served by Harry today who gave quick and friendly service and was really helpful - thank you to The Peacock once again for making it an enjoyable venture out to Birchwood :)

The peacock is just a beauty vibe, you can tell that the food is cooked with love. The staff are lovely and easy to get on with. The open mic every Tuesday is a vibe! Full of talented musicians. I love how community driven the pub is, regularly hosting events like pride, santa paws I think it was, quiz nights, football. Just a top place

Although the meal was goodthe visit to the bar was awful I stood and waited fir the bar person to make a cocktail which was fare enough I was next in line so waited and people come in behind me so the bar person shouted for help a young man came around the bar and went straight to the other end to serve a gang of young men completely blanked me suppose being a woman I shouted to him I was next as I had been waiting a while by now he completely ignored me and carried on serving it was so ignorant don't think il be going back which is a shame as we only live local

Visited as a couple visiting for some tea and a drink. I have a blue light card and asked the young man at the bar if they accepted it. He said yes but it could only be used for one meal and not the two meals we were ordering. I said oh that's odd as i had always managed to use the discount and most recently used it at the Marston pub at Cheshire oaks designer village without a problem.He then said "Oh hang om a minute,I think you can't use the code at the weekends" He spoke with a colleague who said yes that's right. I found this extremely confusing and disappointing!! So gone from yes you can use it but only on one meal to no not at all. We were hungry so paid the £28 pounds for our food.When it came to our table my plate of scampi chips and peas was that of a child's portion!! I could count the peas as there wasn't even a spoonful on the plate.They shouldn't of even bothered! My partner ordered a steak and ale pie which had hardly any filling.We asked for a side of onion rings snd the waitress put the bowl on the edge of the table and when my partner reached to put the bowl between us it was that hot he burnt his hand!!We wanted some mayo but found it to be on a table near to the door leading to the pub garden and it was a really hot day. The sauces had moisture in the top of them due to being in direct heat. Nobody came and asked how everything was.Frankly it was bad all round. We certainly have been put off going to The Peacock again that's for sure!!

The food was very dry, the "garden" peas were hard and shriveled, the tartare sauce had a skin on it overall not very nice

It was a great experience even had colours for the little one, everyone enjoyed their meals and said they would have it again. We are planning another visit we enjoyed it that much

We came into the peacock for some food, and can I just say amazing. When we arrived we were welcomed by Maddie,she was bubbly and very friendly. She was on her own and she still made us feel like her priority. The food was amazing the chef was called tom. We will definitely be returning soon!!

Great food! Easy access with the mobility scooter!

When my mixed grill arrived, I'd asked for a medium rare steak. The steak was well done and the gammon was burnt. These were returned in the hope of them being prepared correctly the second time. I'd nearly finished my mixed grill when a second steak and gammon was brought to the table. Sadly, the steak was again more well done than medium rare. I left the steak and informed the young man who asked if everything was okay at the end of my meal. Clearly I told him it wasn't and the reasons why. He apologised following which I asked him to inform the manager. He returned a short time later and said he'd raised it with the manager, he again apologised before asking if he could get us a dessert. Foolishly, I assumed this would be 'on the house' by way of an apology. I was of course, wrong to make such an assumption as I was charged in full. Is it really that difficult to cook a medium rare steak or to satisfactorily compensate an unhappy customer? Just my honest review.

Live local to the peacock it’s a lovely place to have a catch up with someone or a quiet pint in the beer garden on a hot summers day. The food is lovely id recommend

2 hours and 15 mins and still never received our meals, we were never told there was wait times and our kids were very restless, we normally love the peacock but this has put us off from returning. We had a big day out planned which has now been ruined as we now have to go find food else where.

We had a lovely experience at The Peacock tonight. We had a smiley server called Lily who was very chatty and polite. The food was fresh and hot and the pub was getting ready for the quiz so was quite busy!!

Great food deals and friendly staff

The quality of the food was extremely poor, as it was either dry and overcooked or deep-fried for an excessive amount of time. Additionally, some members of our group did not receive their pizza despite repeatedly requesting it. By that time, the rest of the people had completed their meal also unhappy. The food was unavailable when ordering through the app. When purchasing sweet potatoes, you will receive an additional egg as a substitute for this with stale fries. how can it go this wrong - as you can see this was me giving up on a £17 mixed grill and just leaving , after the starter i didn't think it could get any worse but it did !!

Really disappointed. Arrived, bought a beer paid for food but forgot to take the 30% voucher to the bar. Returned one minute later (literally one minute later) with the voucher but the bar staff wouldn't accept it. The voucher states it should be presented to a member of the team, it doesn't state when....Well....we won't be back. You have lost two customers.

Debbie was amazing , one of the friendliest staff I have ever met , with the biggest smile. She loves the buzz of making customers feeling welcome and it is much a refreshing change. The food was lovely and the banofee tart was to die for , the purple rain cocktail is a must , so refreshing, if you haven’t been then it’s definitely worth a try .

Visited today for my mums birthday lunch. The food, service and location were perfect for the occasion. We ordered the cowboy burger and the soup of the day, both of which were cooked to perfection. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you very much!

Ordered my meal with "Chips" instead was done with "Fries", did not enjoy my meal at all.

Steak pie was awful and not as described on the menu. Hardly any filling. Rump steak was overcooked and dry. With only a few people in, we still waited a long time to be served. No genuine concern about our complaint, and no satisfactory solution was offered.

I had the steak n ale pie, my mum n sister had the lasagne, dad had hunters chicken and hubster had the burger, all cooked to perfection. We live in London but when visiting we always pop in with the family for a meal. It's great to be greeted by a friendly smile and that's exactly what Debbie did, nothing was too much trouble. Debbie looked after my family as if she was part of the family and for that we thank her, you should be proud to have Debbie on your team she's definitely a credit to you, and yes sitting back watching, Debbie treated all customers the same, well done Debbie.

Been here a few times now, with family, friends and have even been for work's Christmas meal, and it's always been lovely. The staff are friendly and attentive, even when it's busy. The food is great and arrives hot and fresh. Great selection for me as a veggie too! My friend and I now come at least once a month for a catch up natter and a decent meal (with desert too of course) and are always welcomed warmly.

We came to the peacock for a nice evening meal, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very helpful and friendly, menu was easy to follow. The food was excellent and enjoyable. Especially Charlotte who helped us with everything. We will definitely be coming back to this place again.

Fairly poor experience on this family visit. If it wasn’t for Debbie’s perfected and genuine customer care we wouldn’t have stayed and requested a full refund along with a huge question mark on whether we’d ever visit again. 1 meal was a completely different item than the one ordered, even after sending it back we still received the correct item wrong, sent back for a 2nd time!! We also only realised later in the meal that another item was wrong after my 5 year old was complaining her chicken burger was spicy even though we ordered kids buttermilk chicken. Again, totally different item vs what was actually ordered. Things sometimes go wrong, what is important is the corrective actions. Debbie is fab, the lad behind the bar needs to work on his concentration levels, stop staring out of windows and a reminder that he needs to focus on the basics instead of spinning glasses in his hand. Kitchen staff could also do with learning how to read and check what is on the plate matches the instructions on the slip before sending food out. credit where credit is due. Debbie is the reason why customers with a poor experience come back.

Food does not justify prices. Wine more expensive than other pubs. Service was very good. We always buy wine by the bottle .We were served a bottle which was opened and was not full
