Came for Sunday lunch, and it was great food was really nice and service was amazing and super friendly. We were served by Becca and she was very welcoming and and friendly!!!

Lovely pub, they take allergies very seriously and have a lot of gluten free options ! Becca our waitress was lonely and very helpful.

What a lovely pub restaurant - we were served by Becca tonight. She is absolutely charming. Travelled down from Scotland and loved our dinner tonight with our wee granddaughter.

Me and my Father attended on the 11th for a last minute meal. Eveything was to perfection ! We were served by Becca who provided exceptional service and ensured all our needs were attended to. I enjoyed 3 of the appetisers and my Father had the fish and chips and we both devoured it all ! Would definitely recommend coming here for any occasion.

Myself and my partner went for a Sunday roast platter. We found not only the food absolutely incredible and well worth the money but the service that matched it! We had James as our waiter and he was nothing short of amazing. Super friendly, really helpful and great at recommendations. Myself and my partner every Sunday try different places for roast dinners, and as it stands now the Jolly Thresher was by FAR the best. Highly recommend!!!

We had my daughter's 40th birthday party here last Sunday in the Tipee. What a great venue the food was lovely and Matt who looked after us all did a fantastic job, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

The servers were very pleasant but we had to ask a couple of times for menus,not a big deal but it wasn't particularly busy. All in all a lovely place for a bit of pub grub, really nicely decorated, good atmosphere.

We visit the Jolly Thresher for meals and as the food and service is always excellent, I hired the Tipi for my husband's 60th birthday, the food was delicious, the tipi and the service we received all night was excellent! The team made our night really special – so thank you! A special thank you to Matt who really looked after us, nothing was too much trouble!

The Jolly Thresher has become the staple of Lymm after its recent refurbishment. The entire premises is a fantastic place to venture everyday of the week. Myself, my partner and my family attended today (7/7/24) and it was a good job I booked in advance as the place was heaving - that’s always a good sign of a highly rated environment! Our server/waitress, Jill, was exceedingly pleasant, she was very patient with my hard of hearing grandad, she took down all of the food allergies that were presented and her presence made the visit that more enjoyable.

We've been here many times and the friendly service and good food being us back. The toilets are clean and fresh and the decor is nice.

Top place. I had a meal here Saturday afternoon and staff were friendly , service efficient and the place was clean and comfortable. In the evening I attended a wedding reception in the Tipi in the garden. Fabulous location, with excellent service from the staff. Warm with heaters above the guests and a fire lit later in the evening. Beautiful buffet food. There is a spacious carpark where I parked my motorhome and checked I was OK to stay overnight. I couldn't fault the place. Excellent.

Booked the table for 7pm, got there early and was seated within a couple of minutes. Menu was really good and reasonable priced. Excellent meal and service. Staff not pushy getting you out after your meal. A most enjoyable evening.

As usual food excellent, service very slow, 2 hours for a 2 course meal!!

There's nothing jolly about the prices in this place £10.85 for 2 halves of lager and 2 packets of crisps, shocking, won't be calling in there again

The service was amazing but food not so 🥲 roast dinner was over complicated and the sweet carrot and swede mash was ridiculously sweet. Roast puddings over done. Just very disappointing

Came on Thursday for my 40th birthday with friends, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, all freshly cooked with fresh ingredients, have to say probably the best pub food I have had in a long time. We were sat in a booth which was really comfortable and spacious felt private but didn’t distract from the cozy feel of the surroundings. Will definitely be returning soon.

Went here with our Grandchildren. Prices at 5.30pm in the afternoon far too expensive. Food not so good to charge so much. Average quality meal cost £71 for two adults and too children. My steak was tough.. But to be fair they did replace it with a nicer one. Rest of my plate was some fries and half a tomato 🍅. Need to have choice of new potatoes, veg etc.

Totally gutted not been in for many years decided to take my family in for a drink really enjoying ourselves so decided to eat in ordered food 50 minutes to arrive after chasing it up once arrived side dishes were missing other parts of main was burnt really gutted have many good memories with my dad plus people smoking next to us didn’t help. I know it’s busy but too much sorry guys but spent over £200 expected better.

Nice pub/resturant with large outside gardens and seating area and a massive wigan outside. Food, drinks and service excellent. Large car park.

Visited for lunch today. Sat on the outside terrace where there is lots of room and the tables are not too close. All the staff were very friendly especially the lady that served us I think her name was Ghilli. The food was delicious and arrived quickly but we were not rushed by the staff. We will definitely be visiting again

I had a family meal at the Jolly Thresher on Sunday. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. Even though they were very busy, the service was brilliant. Our server was very attentive and the food was very tasty. The decor was also very nice and it was clean. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area again.

The food here never ever disappoints, ever!!! It is always incredible. The menu is so varied and plenty of choice. Service was fast and the lady that served us was so so lovely and friendly. Would always recommend this place

Has a great Turkey roast dinner here on Sunday food was very good. Friends had the Roast Platter looked amazing they really enjoyed. Staff were friendly even if they were very busy. Will return lovely atmosphere.Great looking beer garden.

A very nice pub. The cheese and onion pie is a blessing from the gods. The toilets are nice and clean. The chocolate brownie is absolutely divine. It is the best pub I have Been to in a while. Very snazzy.

Went in for Sunday lunch. The lady who served us was very polite, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was excellent. I had the roast chicken dinner and it was delicious. The portions are huge and very nicely cooked. Sadly I did not have room for dessert!! Highly recommend a visit here but you must book, it gets very busy.

I booked the tipi at the Jolly Thresher for my 30th birthday. The process and service from start to finish was so efficient and impeccable. On the day/night Matt looked at us and his service and attentiveness was second to none! He ensured the day/night ran smoothly and took all the pressure off. He couldn’t do enough and went above & beyond! We had the bronze buffet option and everyone loved the food, so many options and catered to to everyone. Couldn’t recommend him and the venue enough, it was a fab night had by all! Thank you Matt and everyone at the Jolly Thresher for helping me celebrate my 30th birthday! :)

The staff couldn't do enough for us, they were all amazing in particular Matt who looked after us all in the Tipi for our sons 16th Birthday Celebration. We all had a brilliant time! The buffet food was incredible and everyone enjoyed it. Thanks to all staff at the Jolly Thresher.

This is a great gastropub for a pleasant lunch with family. The food was excellent with a lovely variety of both adult and kids’ options and all ages from 3 to 78 thoroughly enjoyed it! Lovely service too. The children said we had to leave a 5 star review!

Hi I'm not one to complain but honeslty last sunday has left a bitter taste in my mouth The food quality is on the down I used to love coming here for pretzel bun burgers ,fantastic Sunday lunches and good pub food but now its lacking I came last Sunday with my partner and left disappointed the beef was underseasoned and was just full of fat now I like my meat medium rare but this beef just was sliced way too thick had way too much fat on it and didn't taste seasoned on the menu it described as coming with horseradish sauce.... it did not the veg was bland the potatoes more mush than roasted Just overall very poorly executed Such a let down as currently I won't be wanting to return and I used to love this place

Always busy. This is due to the recruitment and training of the staff and the consistency of food quality. Prices are reasonable as well - especially Sunday roasts. Special mention for Jill who served us so well.

It was my first visit here meeting up with friends. I was impressed with how bright and airy it was inside, with plenty of different areas to enjoy a meal. The menu was good and varied, service was prompt and the food delicious. A very enjoyable experience.

They also serve doggy dinners, so might bring the pooch on my next visit! A great find and will definitely return!

Visited with friends and we all throughly enjoyed it. The food was like home made food you would enjoy on a cold winters night and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and polite.

Had a lovely lunch here. I had the chicken, leek, and cheese pie, which was delicious. The others had the steak and ale pie, also delicious. The servers were attentive, and we had a great afternoon. Will definitely be returning.

Good menu, listened to booking request for table by fire. Tasty food good sized portions.

Very average very chaotic. we chose camerberg as a starter to share came with 2 very small pieces of bread cut into "soldiers" asked for more bread as this was a sharing dish it came as requested but we were charged an extra 1.95! Table was old rickety and only inches away from a step down if l had pushed the chair too far back and l would have been on my back we know they were busy but we had booked the table earlier. As we left l acknowledged the manager who completely ignored me he should take a leaf out of his staff's book who were polite and efficient. We will not visit again.

If you want a lovely lunch out in Lymm, I'd be heading in the direction of The Jolly Thresher. The carpark was almost full at Monday lunchtime, which speaks volumes - so probably best to book a table in advance. All the staff made us feel welcome, not only our table server. The restaurant is very clean and good layout of tables so you don't feel cramped. I was impressed with options on the menu, does cater for all tastes. Food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The chicken and leek pie was delicious, and very generous portions. I will definitely be planning on a return visit with my family.

Recently had lunch here for the first time and really enjoyed it. Our visit was a catch-up with famly members, very nice place inside and although it was quite busy we were served quickly and the food was delicious. Me and my husband ate off the 2-course set menu, there was a good choice and we both had the meat & potato pie followed by jam & coconut sponge & custard, very tasty. Will be visiting again.

We made a booking on Sunday morning for the evening and there was availability. The table was in the perfect place, overlooking the outside area. The food was beautiful and served hot. We had the roast beef dinner and the battered fish, we enjoyed both meals. The homemade desserts were fantastic. The staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely visit again and have already recommended to family and friends.

I don't know where to start. From entering, we were made to feel very welcome. When sat, the menu was explained to us, including what was sold out. I ordered my starter and asked the lovely girl serving what she would recommend out of the 3 I asked. She recommended the lamb, and WHAT A RECOMMENDATION... started arrived, it was lovely, then we weren't waiting long for the main to arrive, the second i saw it, my mouth started to water. Grabbing the bone, it literally pulled out of the shank, clean.. The lamb was tender and amazingly tasty, covered in a thick gravy with a hint of mint. (I'm salivating again just thinking of it.) Then starters were soon to follow, cremé brulè absolutely gorgeous. As a whole, I'm totally looking forward to returning again to try something else. The staff serving us was Kizzy and Charlotte, both an absolute asset to the business. I would not hesitate to recommend the jolly thresher to anyone, intact I have already to many people including some of my own customers.

Great pub and great food. Came for birthday celebrations with family. We were a large group and the JT hosted us amazingly well. We had elderley and disabled members and they catered for our requirements without any issues. The food was fantastic and the beers are great. I would definitely recommend for family events.

Wonderful 1st visit to The Jolly Thresher. The pub was very welcoming with a colourful & warm interior. The menu was extensive and the lunch set menu was excellent value. The presentation & quality of the food was fantastic, as was the service from the staff. Enjoyable catch up with our friends.

The decor in the pub is very stylish and relaxing. We sat in a booth which was very nice and private. All our meals were amazing. All cooked to perfection. I had the scampi which was beautiful and moist. The waiting staff were very pleasant, friendly and attentive. Our visiting friends were very impressed.

The whole team are amazing under the guidance of Josh. Log fires in Winter and a cracking beer garden in Summer. The staff are awesome.

Staff barely acknowledged our arrival. Went to the bar to order food as no one came near the table. This server was lovely and attentive. The food arrived and the soup had a skin on top of it as if it had been sat and the turkey sandwich was not nice at all. We shared half and left the rest. No one came anywhere near the table to ask how the food was or to clear plates after we had finished. Went to the bar to pay and, again, was not acknowledged despite the manager being around the bar setting napkins on tables. Once again, was not asked how the food was so paid full price for a very disappointing service.

I am a strict Coeliac and have visited several times. Staff extremely willing to help and accommodate any requests or answer any questions. Always go out of their way to make sure your meal is safe to eat and understand when you explain about cross contamination.

My friend and I dined here recently and couldn’t fault a thing. The food and service were top class! And ordered the chicken breast with all the trimmings. It was a delicious plate of food with everything done to perfection. I wanted another helping after polishing off my meal! Our servers were polite and attentive and our food courses delivered hot and speedily. Overall, a great experience and one I will be enjoying again soon.

I booked a table for my dad’s birthday for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was extremely busy. The food was very good and the service was good, considering how busy it was. We will definitely be back!

The staff are always very friendly and accommodating - I had made a reservation in a rush and forgot to ask for a table near the doors to the back terrace (my dad has dementia, so having a table where my mum and I can keep an eye on him when he goes outside for a smoke is always a big help). The staff were able to sort this out on the spot for us, which was greatly appreciated!
