Lovely place to come with family and friends. The food is amazing, and the staff are so helpful. They do a great deal on burgers as well on a Thursday, this is our go-to spot. It can get busy so I would recommend booking

Just because it’s local, and value for money doesn’t mean they don’t go the extra mile. Simple booking, table was readily available on arrival, and allowed me to have flowers delivered ahead of time for our meal. Food was excellent, comfy seating, thank you Lucy and the team for your service. Will be back !!!!!!!!

Everything was great had a breakfast good portions and was quick to the table. Willbe visiting again thank you.

Went on Sunday. Sat outside as it was a hot day and no air conditioning inside. Had a Sunday lunch, which was the usual microwave style. Thought this as when ordered was told it may not be in stock (and this was at 12 noon) Also ordered a chicken mix which was good, but recommend that you do not order the chicken breast option as they were very very very tiny and tough. The chicken scewers were fine though. All in all, people usually go here for the grill options, such as steaks, ribs etc and that seems far better than other items such as what we ordered.

Well this photo just sums up what the food is like,🤢 ordered two of the burgers after waiting over an hour they came out like this! cold looked as it was reheated !!!absolutely terrible service! Don't waste your time

I only had cheese/bacon Beefburger, served with fries and onion rings, it was good, I enjoyed it, would have looked more appetising with a little salad garnish on the side. But it was ok.

Excellent food, staff are friendly and go the extra mile. Good value for money, many offers Monday to Friday. Very busy at weekends. But has outside seating on those few sunny days. Well worth a visit to see what you think? I hope you'll approve!

Really enjoyed the food. Good value for money. The staff were lovely, had lasagne but they'd run out of garlic bread. They offered chips as an alternative so cant complain. Would go again though

Lovely place definitely recommend

Member of staff was rude from the offset and we spoke to on shift manager who didn’t seem bothered. Ended up leaving and not eating here.

Its gpod for the money and certainly gets fully booked. Kids always seem to like it there. Best is give it a try but do not expect food like in a 5 star hotel.

It's within walking distance to where we live, so handy for us and our family and friends like to have a meal and drink here.

This was a nice pub style restaurant. The food was excellent and tasty. Very filling. I will be going back again It is a dog friendly place with outside seating on a deck there was ample parking and there was charging facilities in the corner in the car park

Menus were sticky. The tables were sticky. The counter was not sticky & looked mostly clean too. This place needs a thorough scrubbing. I'm sorry, but it was dusty and sticky and very dated. The toilets were very, very dated & well used. But, they were clean to be fair! On a drier day, you can sit outside & watch TV, eat, drink and be merry. The veranda is laid out lovely, with plenty of seating for a good-sized crowd. The staff are friendly. Won't knock them! What annoyed me most when I arrived was not having a single spot to park. All the free parking spots were taken by parents collecting their children from the primary school, just a stones throw from the Venture parking area. Some were even double parked! The coffee from the machine was dreadful. Drank half, even added sugar to see if this could help, but no, it was just awful. The food wasn't that bad. Very much what someone would cook from home. Although I'm sorry to say, I've had much better home cooked meals. It's only OK in a pinch. Sorry to say... I won't be going back again any time soon.

This is the best place for a family meal,really busy tonight and there was a slight mix up with our order for 5 of us but the staff were so helpful and quick at getting it to our table,the food is always spot on can't fault anything 😀 Be back to try the rest of the tatsy menu

Visited Venture during the week with my partner, we opted for the 2 for £11.99 offer and both had the steak pie. The meal was lovely overall... we were expecting a slice of pie each but got a whole pie on each plate 😆😆. Was certainly very filling, couldn't finish it. Very good value for money. No complaints from us. Also noted that The Venture is dog friendly so will be visiting again when out on our walks. Overall a nice friendly pub atmosphere to dine in, highly recommend. EDIT - Visited again yesterday with my dog for a quick bite to eat, food was delicious again and a thumbs up from my pooch who had chicken and sausages off the doggy menu and scoffed the lot 😀

Went today with the family (6 of us). Myself and my brother ordered the half Chicken Sunday dinner with the beef dripping gravy. The Chicken was very dry, the roast potatoes were overcooked and soggy, like they had been standing a while. The mash potato was stodgy and tasted like it had come out of a packet, and there was hardly any beef dripping gravy. I'm sorry to say we didnt enjoy it whatsoever. The other meals that were ordered were fine and everyone seemed to enjoy what they had, but the roast chicken dinner was a hugh let down.

Was packed inside, but service was very swift and not much waiting. Food good and well cooked and tables clean. Will go again.

Really nice place to visit The staff are very helpful and friendly the food was great and I would recommend going along it gets busy so I'd always say best to pre book a table if you're just going for a drink there's plenty of outside space too.

Food and service are great and reasonably priced. Usually quite busy and not the biggest of places and can feel a bit squeezed in next to people. Overall a good place to go aslong as you book a table.

Food was cold missing items. Nobody came over once food arrived to table. We had to chase missing items by the time it arrived food was cold. Standards have dropped recently. Shame as lovely pub.

The food at the venture is very good and the staff are very friendly and welcoming you to this lovely pub in Wigan the food is excellent ill be going again sometime probably near Christmas 🤶 I recommend this place for good friends and family members for small or big party customers that will come back time after time,! Excellent choice of food and drinks, great value

Had a lovely meal here tonight with my family. The food we ordered was lovely, hot and reasonably priced. My sons chicken burger was slightly undercooked but was quickly replaced with a freshly cooked one. When ordering an ice cream for my grandson, the lady serving said it would be free because of the burger being replaced. They brought out such a lovely big ice cream with fresh strawberries and strawberry sauce. Overall we had a really lovely meal with outstanding customer service. We will most definitely return

Turned up without booking and despite being busy we were found a table. Food arrived really quickly and was delicious.

Haven't been here for a while and was pleasantly surprised at how warm and welcoming the staff were and very accommodating,they welcome dogs and choices of food was a good variety and offers were great,I and my partner had the BOGNF offer on the burgers which were just the right amount for a lunch time meal over all would recommend to anyone and will definitely be going again pretty soon.

Can't review the food as the previous two visits resulted in walking straight out again as there were no tables available. This place gets extremely busy and is a very popular pub with the locals. The range of beers is good but if you want food early evening, it probably is worth reserving a table. Hopefully, better luck next time.

Very busy, we were a table of 7, staff were great and from the start were informed there would be a wait for our main courses which didn't matter as we were having starters anyway. All meals were plentiful and tasty, every one enjoyed and it's very reasonably priced.

I love everything about this place. From the great selection of drinks to the friendly bar staff and the pretty girls that I'm a bit too shy to talk to hehe. I come here without fail every Sunday for my chicken platter and pub quiz thanks to Colin for putting on a great event. Unlike simple minds I'm here every week, even if it's a couple of days before pay day my last £2 is going straight on that bingo ticket. One day I'll win that jackpot and finally be able to quit my job and buy myself a Tesla. Instead of pretending when I park next to the electric charging points hehehe. CAN WE GET SOME SERVICE IN HERE!

Stopped in here for some lunch after visiting the Summer Fair just down the road. The service was impeccable from all staff, including the (I think) manageress who stopped her own lunch twice to check if I was okay when queued up at the bar. A glass of coke I ordered was end of the barrel, quickly swapped out as soon as I mentioned it and new drink provided straight away. The food is what you would expect from a chain, not the worst but not the best yet I would still 100% come again if I was ever in the area for the service alone.

I have been here a few times… for a pint it is quite a nice place, but as a gastropub there is less of a “drinking” atmosphere than a normal pub. The food here is below par, and I believe there are cheaper restaurants in the vicinity that provide a better meal at a better cost. You will be waiting for a long time for just a pint and your food.

Been here multiple times and never have an issue. The food is what you expect from a green king pub, quick service always. Prices are what you expect in this current financial state.

I was at Venture yesterday with my sister. A very enjoyable experience..food was amazing..staff were so friendly. It was a very busy time (1.00) but it didnt stop staff from being really helpful & cheerful. Will definately be going again. Thanks to all!!

Really nice service from the bar staff team, pub was quite busy but the service was quick and snappy, food came out in 20 mins despite it being busy which I thought was just brilliant. I have to say I was very disappointed with the platter we bought. £25 and it barely fed 2 of us. My wife and I are not big eaters at all and quite often can't finish a pub plate of food but we ate everything here and were still left hungry. The biggest disappointment were the chips. Barely enough even for one person. I feel their could easily double or even triple the chips and I wouldn't complain as badly. The beef was immaculate, chips were crispy, chicken was okay but a bit flavourless, Mac and Cheese was a measly portion for the price and the sausages were fairly poor quality and VERY dry, we couldn't eat the ends. I'm sorry to leave this review. I like Greene King and I will go again but I will order something different next time

The place felt a bit dirty and run down but we had been advised by friend to try it so we did. The food we had was lovely and hot and really tasty. If they could smarten the place up a bit and give it a good clean we might decide to go back just because of the good quality food we had.

Ordered steak fondue ...was awful made up of scrap ends of steaks . Tough as old boots 👢 😪

One of the better Flaming Grill pubs and a favourite of ours when we're up in Wigan. Great value food, large portions, decent quality.

We arrived early & asked where our table was , there was some confusion of where that had put us. Eventually we ordered, starters were lovey, but the main a sharing plate steak fondue was ok but slightly confused that the Camembert was slapped on top of the steak rather than being on side to dip the steak into as a fondue! The gravy/ beef dripping was awful (I suppose it’s a matter of taste) We ordered a bottle of wine & no ice bucket was offered & we never had any staff ask us if everything was ok with the meal.we couldn’t eat everything so ask for a doggie bag & they didn’t even have anything to put our steak in so we just wrapped it up in napkins. Maybe for future reference offer containers for leftovers for customers to take home ! Will try again well worth the trip out though .

Deserves more than just 5*. We went yesterday for my son's 13th birthday. When we arrived I wasn't comfortable with the table we were allocated We spoke to a member of staff and asked if we could go to a quieter area without hesitation the lady was quick to assist me. Once settled at our new table we ordered our meals the server was excellent and patient with me. Food came out at a reasonable time. There was a minor mix up and I did have to return mine I was just expecting one piece of meat to be replaced but instead my whole meal got replaced. Such friendly staff I'm so glad I returned after an 8 year gap. Venture you have such amazing staff! The food was amazing my children ate everything and they normally don't. Cannot wait to return again. Keep grilling you are all fantastic.
