Disappointed, breakfast was very bad, burnt black bits all over the plate, they need to clean their hot plate. missed items. Waitress was lovely and polite.

Went for Breakfast, the waitress was polite and helpful. Ordered a Latte and a cappuccino, for myself and my wife, and our food order was a toasted Bacon Sandwich for my wife and a small Breakfast for myself. I specifically asked for my egg to be turned over and not hard or broken. The food arrived and it was inedible. My wife's bacon sandwich looked awful, black residue from the grill, greasy and cold. My egg was hard and broken and I did tell the waitress who offered to change it, which I declined. The meal looked like it had been scraped up of the floor everything had burnt residue from the pan or hob. Sausage was done in a deep fat fryer, was burnt and had no skin, I have no idea how the mushrooms were cooked? Boiled then fried? Beans cold and stewed, again the bacon had black residue. Everything was lukewarm or cold and greasy. I wish I had taken a picture for Hells Kitchen! The waitress said sorry but was happy to take my money. I should have refused to pay but I'm not that impolite and certainly didn't want another regurgitated meal. Avoid this place its not good.

Visited Venecci’s this morning for a catch up with a friend and this was the first time I had been after seeing it driving past. The lady serving us was chatty and friendly and made us very welcome. The food was lovely, I ordered a sausage and fried egg sandwich and it was in lovely thick fresh bread. The menu had alot of variety so will be back to try some other things. We had great teas and coffees and we ended up sitting outside for a few hours as it was such a lovely place to visit. Toilets were so cool as well! Will definitely be back again.

Location is absolutely serene and u have a wide view of the sea. Staff is very friendly and help u make decisions regarding the order. There is indoors and outdoor seating. Food is delicious and coffee is very good. Definitely recommend.

Great atmosphere. Service a tad slow and had to remind the staff of some items. Was not overly impressed by the breakfast items we ordered. American pancakes were more like dense crepes than fluffy American style pancakes. Egg Benedict hollandaise was thick and somewhat separated and on the side which I found odd. And a small amount. Pricey for portions recieved.

Not sure what's happening here, this cafe used to be good. Today or order was incorrect. Service without smiles or appologies for incorrect food. Eggs Royal was awful, without garnish, slimey egg white and lumpy sauce we didn't even try.

Had the best bottomless Prosecco afternoon tea! Was worried about some of the reviews but our experience was amazing! Staff were so friendly and attentive! Did not rush us and let us sit and enjoy our afternoon tea for hours without a problem! We had a buy a gift voucher for my birthday and so glad we did! Decor is amazing really quirky! Will definitely be back thank you for such a lovely day.

Lovely little place, good food but some service issues that need addressing. We were booked for the bottomless Prosecco afternoon tea - the food was good (especially the coronation chicken!). Our waitress was friendly and very nice but we were left at our table for some time before being offered a drink - our bottle was left unopened (we ordered 3 in total and had to open all of them ourselves). When we asked for more sandwiches we were told the cook had gone home so we couldn't have anymore food - seems a shame as they're missing the chance to make some more money & keep customers happy. Then we were all just shouted to that if we wanted a coffee to order it now as they were turning the machine off, it would be much better to visit the 3 tables that still had customers and ask them rather than shout it out and wait for your customers to shout back! Lastly, a lady we hadn't seen previously then proceeded to hoover the restaurant whilst customers were still dining and trying to talk to each other. Such a shame to make your paying customers feel they must leave in this way - I understand that you would start some clearing and cleaning but hoovering??!! We were going to ask about private hire for events but I wouldn't feel comfortable inviting my family & friends to somewhere that does this, such a shame and I hope the venue takes these comments as they're meant - advice to help improve things going forward.

Had a lovely Afternoon Tea with friends at Venecci's, phoned up to buy a voucher for 3 people and booked a few months later. We had a very helpful waitress called Rebecca, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend for a relaxed experience coming here, will be back soon

Food was late cold n had food missing

Awful service. Everytime we order they forget items. Then when we call to remind them to remember they burn it! Useless!

Wife and I pop into Venucci quite often for coffee on our seawall walk but the last occasion 10th Feb 2024 we both had chicken, Brie and cranberry panini, it really was the best panini I I had tasted for a very long time. Everything we have ever had was always well cooked and presented. Highly recommended.

Bad customer service booked for my 77th birthday phoned and booked for 7 following day phoned to add 1 to make 8 Arrived at the restaurant left standing in doorway assitant shouted over to us have you had an email we said no we did phone call she then said booking was for 2 then 3 didnt come over to us and shrugged her shoulders no apologies if it was a mistake no apologies for any misunderstandings rude and bad customer service

Shocking service from the moment I stepped inside the venue! We were greeted with a rude and aggressive tone from a lady who barked at us that they didn’t have our booking - we had booked for 7 people for afternoon tea originally, then this morning phoned up to change the booking to 8. That is two phone calls to confirm our booking. Clearly a mistake on their part, we were told they only had us down for 2 people. I understand that mistakes happen but they way in which this was dealt with was totally shocking and unacceptable. The lady proceeded to yell over to us, causing other diners to fall silent and made it very awkward; we were made to feel like it was our fault. Not once did a member of staff actually come over to us to explain what was happening or to apologise; we were stood waiting in utter awkwardness wondering what was going on. At this point, we felt totally unwelcome. I then heard the member of staff talking to another customer saying that they didn’t have enough food for 8 people, seemingly communicating with everyone except us. A huge shame as it was for my Nan’s 77th birthday. As we left, the lady proceeded to just shrug her shoulders as if we were the problem and the whole situation was an inconvenience for her.

we called and booked yesterday for a table of 7, and called today to add one person to make it 8. we turned up on time for our booking, and were told we booked for 2 people, and it was expanded this morning to 3, which is an obvious mistake on your part, as we confirmed 8 people over the phone this morning. when we said this, the woman was rude and said “it was only booked for 2 people”. the woman then yelled at her colleague who let her know our booking was over the phone and her reply was “yes i know they called”, and this was yelled across the restaurant to us at the door. we were then left to stand at the door, and not a single thing was said to us for about 5 minutes. no apology about the mistake and a horrific attitude when we were about to spend £200 odd pound in this establishment. what a horrible way to speak to both potential customers and colleagues alike.

I think we drew the short straw today. We took the kids in for afternoon tea for 4 today and although the service was friendly and the decor was great. The food was very below par. The sandwiches had been left out for too long and became dry and there wasn't a home made slice of cake in sight. The cakes seemed like they were from a shop bought bites sized selection pack. I did over hear that the normal chef had called in sick so... that should have been reflected on with a discount.

The seats are comfortable and it is a very cosy place to eat and drink. There are so many choices for breakfast! I had an English breakfast with avocado on the side and it was lovely. The staff are nice and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing and cosy. There are cool decorations around the room and interesting things to look at. I would highly recommend coming here.

What a find!!! If you’ve not been here, you need to pay this place a visit! Terri the lady who served us was so lovely, food was amazing, decor was amazing oh and make sure you visit the loo even if you don’t need to go! Absolutely spectacular! Feel like we’ve discovered a hidden Southend asset! We will 100% be back with friends.

This place is amazing, my daughter treated me to a afternoon tea. The food was delicious and very well thought out. Everything was fantastic from the start to the end. The staff and Terry made you feel extremely welcome made sure you were comfortable and went above and beyond. Thankyou so much to my daughter but thankyou Venecci lounge for a truly wonderful experience.

Had my birthday afternoon tea here cant recommend enough food was fantastic and the staff were great very attentive nothing was to much for the them toilet was out of this world will recommend to friends and family and will definitely be back!!!!!

went here in the summer and it was very very cute. Was quite a few cocktail options, I had a strawberry daiquiri in the sun but moved in when it got ok chilly outside. Cocktail was nice

We went there for bottomless prosecco afternoon tea, and I can definitely say it didn't let us down. We had a lovely time and our glasses were always kept filled up. Thank you Sue. I have also been there for breakfast and lunch before now, and each time it's always been great service and great food.

Lovely place to eat. Food's delicious, service is always great (particularly Terrie). Really interesting theme throughout, we spot something new everytime we come.

The pancakes are not as described or what is advertised. The are disgusting, thin and bland.

Went out for a spot of lunch with my friend who hadn’t been able to go out for a while Decided to try this coffee shop , always looked busy I opted for chicken salad my friend had prawn and avocado salad Sadly we were both disappointed with our choice Her prawns were pre frozen My chicken was sliced out of a packet and heated up so dry and hard Service was bad as only one person working Told the waitress my chicken was dry she was taking off 10% off the salad price 85p We asked for the bill after 2 hours being there for lunch Then bill was 80p overcharge so no discount Sadly won’t be going back or recommending

Really lovely salad the only reason for a 4 star is the avocado had chilli in it which I wasn’t aware of and don’t like chilli, could of done with more peppers and tomatoes as only had 2 cherry tomatoes and a few slices of pepper. Hasn’t put me off ordering from them again though as did enjoy it just a few tweaks and would be perfect

Lovely café with a friendly atmosphere. It's worth checking out the memorabilia inside. It'll bring a big smile to your face. We only stopped for coffee. A great place to people watch.

Went there Sunday morning with my son. Waitress was a nice girl but didn’t really know what she was doing, I’m guessing she was new. Son ordered sausage sandwich and chips, I’m a vegan but luckily I’m not that fussy because there’s nothing for vegans. I ended up having the vegetarian breakfast without the egg. My sons food turned up and the sausages were undercooked. My breakfast was very basic, the veggie sausage was nasty. Ended up eating the chips, the hash brown and the toast. Food was below average and staff didn’t know what they were doing.

Lovely place for afternoon tea. Busy little quirky coffee lounge. Staff friendly and helpful. We had a great time and looking at some of the other food coming out we will be back as it looked amazing!

Was busy and she did her best but too much for 1 person so the boss not present shld get more staff in!! Could not have food when wanted as the only chef they have in on a Friday was ill so could have only drinks and night ended early as planned!! Ended up having dinner elsewhere!!! I suggest fb shld be updated when no dining nor chef coming in as not 1st time come to southend plan for pre drinks before meal no updates on Fb closing and arrive closed!

Quite possibly. We’d booked in advance… even had our booking confirmed via email by them a day prior…but they hadn’t excepted us. So we patiently waited 30 minutes during which we didn’t get offered any tea (we eventually asked for some) but were told we weren’t able to have any of the promised mini cakes as they weren’t prepared. We eventually received shop bought scones, jam and cream slapped messily into bowls, savoury pastries cooked from the freezer, a roughly cut flapjack from a packet (i.e., shop bought) taken off the counter, and bought in sliced cake (actually the best thing by a mile). The sandwiches were okay… but the cheese sandwiches had been made with the rind left on. The waitress, while pleasant, seemed far more interested in brushing her hair and eating chips at the counter than us. Oh, and no-one remembered this was a birthday booking. Got to admire their front, but surely they must realise this isn’t good enough. We’ve been to many, many other cafes in Southend and beyond have genuinely never experienced a less customer-focused approach or worse value for money elsewhere. You have been warned!

This place never adheres to its opening hours, doesn’t answer the phone! Went in at 2.50pm. The waitress eventually came over at 2.56pm to say they weren’t taking food orders as the kitchen shut at 3pm. Pointed out it wasn’t 3pm, totally ridiculous. It used to be really good, not sure if it’s changed ownership but it’s gone way downhill!

Great Food! great evening menu! came down and nothing was too big of an ask. Went with friends and we all said how friendly the staff were. Calleigh and Sara were the most attentive waitresses!

Lovely food and service. Waitress was great. Although, I ordered a decaf coffee specifically as I don’t have caffeine. I then asked if I could have it iced, and that was okay with them. When I go to the till to pay, I notice that they’re using prebottled iced coffee from Aldi - which has caffeine in it and really isn’t worth the money you pay. Really disappointing as they have a proper coffee machine. It would be a far nicer product than the cheap sugary alternative.

This place is the perfect little cafe by the seafront. It's reasonably priced and has a wide range of breakfast foods, coffees teas and sandwiches. The service was quick too and we loved sitting outside and watching the sea. Will definitely return!

Afternoon tea - went for afternoon tea as a gift for friend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great food, great service, great place (including decor and location) and superb staff. Really friendly and helpful. Already recommended to friends and family and will look forward to going back again.

Family of four. Had lunch one day and breakfast the next. All delicious including good coffee. Very small but perfectly formed with coolest toilet ever! Will definitely go again when in the area.

Absolutely fantastic afternoon tea served by Terri and Sarah. The sandwiches were super thick and soft. I have never seen such large scones either which had wonderful fresh clotted cream and jam served with them. The coffee is a lovely blend too. The service was faultless from the moment I telephoned to the moment we left. Even our young dog who is well behaved was made so very welcome. We recommend this place wholeheartedly and will be returning without a doubt.

Absolutely fantastic, what an atmosphere this place has, felt like i was in paradise, my waiter kieran was superb, took great care of us and as a result got his own food and came and sat with us. Although his breath smelt, what a great waiter you guys possess

I love this place! We have a range of cafes and spoons we could go to, but I always choose this one. They do a fantastic range of foods, I particularly enjoy their English breakfast. Well recommended and fantastic service too.

Visited on a sunny but chilly day, so sat outside for a little while before retreating inside. It was a bit of a squeeze as every table was taken. Food good but the hot food was cold. This was because the girl serving was on her own and had 8 tables to serve. Will try again.

Went with my dog. I had egg and bacon sandwiches, which was great. Dogs had a doggie sausage. The toilet has to be the best cafe toilet in the world. I won't spoil it for you, but 20 out of 10. Eat outside or inside with plenty of space.

Got great feedback from my friend about this place. Tried it with my son for breakfast and was very disappointed. Pancakes for both of us were burnt, made a complaint and another batch brought to our table which was under cooked to the point where the batter was runny. The waitress was very helpful and place is nice and cosy and quite unique in its decor but we will not be returning for seconds!
