Lovely interior, friendly staff and quality coffee. Found a lovely little spot in Southbourne which seems to double up and a bike shop. Really love these multi use premises and thought this particular venture was done very well! Cannot fault them will definitely return when I'm back in town.

I popped in to get my tyres pumped up. Although their bike service was closed Grace and Jenny were more than happy to help! They pumped my tyres, offered a glass of water (hot day!) and were very friendly. Will definitely be back for some more bike advice and maybe a coffee next time! :)

Staff were friendly, vibe was really cool - my only regret is not grabbing anything from the food menu as the absolute state of some of the dishes that were brought out was immense. Loved the chilled mugs it made me feel like I was at a mates gaff

Quirky, nice atmosphere, great decor. Amazing food and very good value. Been living here a year first visit today and really loved it and will be back. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito which was amazing. Tea in a mug, no annoying tea pot. Friendly staff and quick service.

Best vegetarian breakfast burrito I’ve ever tasted! Simply delicious 😋 the coffee has a nutty taste which was also wonderful! The Turkish eggs were nice, not quite as expected but tasty! Clearly a popular place to get in early for breakfast you won’t be disappointed!

2 minutes agoNEW Vegan tacos are OK, the pork taco was moist but bland and the chicken taco was dry and tasteless. The decor is cheap and quirky but not in a good way. The menu is very limited.

Totally unexpected, but we had heard about this on the grapevine so gave it a go. Had full breakfasts - avocado and egg on toast for me followed by coffee and cake (no judging please!). We were lucky - got a table immediately. It's a popular place and we saw many having to wait. Place is bright, with wooden tables and two low tables in the windows which were very cool. Atmosphere was very friendly, relaxed and felt young although age range of customers was from teens to pensioners, with young families too. Really comfortable place to be. Great friendly service and the food was really good, with a surprising (and tasty) chipotle drizzle on my plate which I loved. Good sized portions. Price for 3 of us having breakfasts and coffee was around £10 each, so very reasonable. Thanks to all the staff - we loved your place!

A bike shop that’s added a bit of a cafe. No fancy decor or pretence BUT omg breakfast burrito from heaven. Having gone out to murder a full English somewhere the menu was shall we say ‘ tad healthier’ . Burrito arrives and I say to my mate this first mouthful will make or break my day…it made it and more. Bottom lip wobble at last mouthful. Had to commend the chef. Go there..get a breakfast burrito and spend the day smiling….even the occasional yap from a collie cross couple of tables away (can’t stand yappy dogs) drifted into insignificance.

This is a bike shop that has been divided into 2 parts, the bike shop and the cafe. The cafe was very friendly and welcoming. It has limited choices on the menu which want too much of a problem for us as we liked them but it doesn’t do a cheese and ham toastie for example. Good prices

Gave this bike repair and cafe shop a try for a spot of breakfast on a day off. Had the Turkish eggs which were very good. Not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive place either, and worth the money.

A superb cafe with great food and coffee. We visit regularly and our favourites are the Cajun Burritos and the wowser Turkish Eggs ... add a cup of the local-legendary Bad Hand coffee and you're in for a treat. Sarah and the kitchen team do a fantastic job and the service is great too. Seating can be a tad basic, but so what - everything else is superb.

Amazing food!!!! This place just doesn’t disappoint each time. The breakfast burrito, pancakes and coffee are just fantastic. Staff are always amazing. Sometimes there can be a little wait for coffee but I never leave this place feeling disappointed. For anybody stopping by...pop in! You must!

Couldn't find a cafe on the front, so came inland a little and stumbled upon this place ! We sat down and thought it was a limited breakfast menu, but inspected further and decided upon two dishes we would never have even looked at somewhere else. But... OH MY GOD !!! They were absolutely incredible !!! I had the breakfast burrito and husband had the Turkish eggs !!! We didn't want the meal to end - and pretty reasonably priced. Not huge portions but worth every moment of delicious dribbly wonderfulness on the tongue.... I want the recipes please !!!

Breakfast always a surprise. Not just for cyclists. I had the avocado and sourdough with a poached egg & this comes with little extras like chia and sunflower seeds plus garnish. Fantastic. My partner had similar no egg but halloumi. Will go again with the bikes.

We visited on a wet and cold Saturday morning. The high street was deserted but Velo was heaving. A true reflection of the appeal.The food is fabulous particularly the pancakes. The coffee is roasted in Bournemouth and is one of the best.A great place to relax, warm up and enjoy the bustle.One of the best cafes in the area

I came here on a Sunday morning for a coffee with my good friend. Upon arrival I was greeted by the smell of fresh coffee and lovely food. The exuberant atmosphere, great staff and delicious food (veggie breakfast burrito) made for a cosy and relaxing visit. Highly recommend!!

We stopped at Velo Domestique for breakfast.. there were plenty of vegan choices. We opted for the delicious avocado on sourdough and a filling, tasty chilli bowl.. both were absolutely yummy! The staff were very friendly too... Highly recommended!

Great place, very friendly staff much more than just a bike shop! They have an interesting selection of different cold drinks, the carrot juice is my favourite. If you work from home and sometimes look for a place to change the environment a bit, this is the place to go - usually quiet in the mornings and the Wifi is great! Worth a visit :)

Family visit for first time. Coffee lived up to recommendations. I tried a V60 which was excellent. We enjoyed a really good breakfast, from breakfast burrito, eggs on sourdough and wonderful home made pancakes. Staff very friendly and definitely will return.

I would 100% recommend checking out this place. The food, coffee and service are all great. If you go then you have to try the breakfast burrito! Really chilled vibes and the staff are really friendly to everyone who comes in. One of the best places going in southbourne/Bournemouth.

Love this place — great menu, especially for vegetarians. We're based just round the corner and often jump on the bikes and stop by for a Breakfast Burrito or the mega tasty Chickpea & Spinach Pancakes.

A few of my friends had been saying about how good breakfast was at Velo so decided to give it a go - menu choices were really good I opted for the bacon ciabatta which was fantastic but couldn’t help myself keep dying up my friend avocado and poached egg! Staff were chilled and friendly - the perfect mix for a lazy morning.

We love this place it has everything you could possibly need including lovely staff who go out of their way to ensure that there is something for everyone foodwise....(should you have certain food requirements) and the burrito is well known by the locals as being the best ever tasted avo on sourdough never fails to be delicious and the pancakes come in gluten free should that be required ! The coffee is top quality. The atmosphere is friendly and low key and everyone and their dogs are welcome. The bike servicing is professional and fast and everything is very well priced.

The food was of a very high standard, as was the girl who brought it to the table, both 10/10. Only thing that lets the place down is the amount of Mamil’s walking around! (Midde-aged men in Lycra).

My wife and I visited last weekend with the intention of only stopping for coffee, however the menu looked promising so we decided to share a 'Burrito'. The café was obviously very busy and we had to wait a little for the food to arrive, however was well worth the wait- best burrito we have had in years!

They do really good food that simple and taste. The coffee is sourced from 'south coast roast' and a good smooth coffee. The bonus is you can get your bike fixed too.

I stopped here half way through a bike ride. Super nice staff who can recommend the best things to eat and drink, from a well constructed menu. Great coffee. Relaxed atmosphere in a nice setting. Kid and bike friendly. Highly recommended.

Yo he visitado Velo Domestique un número de veces desde que abrió sus puertas hace más de un año. Que haya ido de fuerza a la fuerza con un personal amable y servicial, la comida deliciosa recién hechas y una gran variedad de cafés especializados. Siempre parece haber algo, desde paseos en bicicleta a la noche del miércoles, proyecciones de películas y una noche de tapas. Solucionar todo tipo de bicicletas y hacer a medida construye pero no importa si, como yo, ni siquiera su propia bicicleta. Siempre una cálida bienvenida. Altamente recomendado.

Been in there multiple times over the past 12 or months with issues with my bike and always had it back the same day (providing its taken in first thing). Very good rates and friendly and knowledgeable staff.

More rustic than Rockets and Rascals, but more down to earth and welcoming. Pancakes were more drop scones than crepes which made them really filling. Family friendly with toys and books. They will even lend you a lock for the decent no-nonsense bike racks outside.

Really lovely cafe, great service and really friendly staff. They also do a great deal for "working people" you can use their wifi all day and for a set fee get unlimited coffee provided!

This is a great cafe and bike shop and I used to go here a lot as the food choice was varied and well priced. On the last 2 occasions I went the portion sizes were considerably and noticeably smaller and the food also took ages to arrive even though there was only me and another couple there. Poached eggs on toast shouldn't take 20 minutes! Recently the menu has changed and there is much less choice and the prices have increased a lot. This coupled with my previous experiences means I won't be back which is a shame as the staff are great and it's a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.

Being a cyclist i was extrememly happy to see this place open at the end of my road. They offer workshop facilites for servicing and im told they even do complete builds to a high standard.I had a coffee which they source locally from Boscanova and it was top notch. Little things like warming the mug first make all the difference. WIFI and Plug sockets for Laptops are also available - its easy to spend a whole day here!I like this place alot.

Came here with my dad to have a veg lunch and the burritos and had an amazing hot chocolate and it definitely deserves a five star rating,Jessie

As a cycling enthusiast, I've been meaning to try Velo Domestique for a while now. It's an awesome place with a really cool atmosphere, and the coffee is exceptional. I wouldn't call it cheap, but I think you definitely get your money's worth with the quality. The food they were serving looked really good too, so I'll no doubt be back to give that a go sometime soon. Well worth a visit!

This will become one of my regular haunts. It appears to be the Southbourne version of Boscanova, run by the same people?The menu is interesting with new Mexican style open sarnies, although the avocado one would seem to be so popular that I had to settle for soup instead. Although from frozen, it is clearly a home made and was chick pea and lentil with tomato, served with sour dough toast. Really delicious and a nice full bowlful. Excellent value. Staff are friendly and the place attracts the type of people I enjoy being around....oh, and a few cyclists, though I should think they have a job getting space amongst the locals!!!A lovely addition to Southbourne and I look forward to many more visits.

Highly recommend this place, which we happened across when wandering past. It's a strange mix, a bicycle repair shop with a funky cafe inside .. But it works. And perhaps why shouldn't it. I mean key cutters repair shoes and there's a knitting shop further down that serves tea. Service was excellent and friendly. Anyhow, definitely worth a try.

I've like in Southbourne my whole life and this is the place that it has been screaming out for for years. With cycling on the up they use the shop as much for food and drink as they do for bike repairs. Stopped in for a coffee with a friend and sadly the steamer on the espresso machine was down so we had a Jimmy's iced coffee which is always a treat in its self. Sadly we weren't staying for food. The menu and specials board looks quality and the smell from the kitchen was incredible. Great vibe inside with chilled friendly staff will be back soon to make my way through that menu.

I was looking for a place to eat in Southbourne and came a ross this cafe/bike shop.The staff are really welcoming and helpful and the food is amazing. I had avocado mashed up, with I think, lime, s&p and chilli flakes. A pile of fresh peppery watercress was on top and the whole thing came on a couple of slices of toasted wholemeal. It was so simple yet so delicious. For a cooling drink the chap behind the counter recommended the citrus medley. Absolute nectar for a hot summers day.Well done guys.

Popped in for lunch after a long morning cycle with my wife. A great selection of healthy salads etc We had an Avacado salad and a very nice lime drink. It caters for the general public as well as cyclists and has a friendly warm atmosphere. If you cycle there they provide free locks to safeguard your bike. A nice touch !

We visited here on a cold March morning for a quick coffee. We loved the cool, modern exterior, but not being bike enthusiasts, we wondered how welcome we would be. Plus we had a rather active two year old toddler with us. Would he be welcome? From the moment we stepped through the door we felt welcome, friendly, happy staff, willing to explain what was on offer. We were handed a bag of toys to keep our boy entertained and sat down amongst many different age ranges, all enjoying the new cafe. We sampled a few dishes, all which were delicious, home cooked, generous and satisfying. There was a lovely mix of age groups amongst the clientele, all seemingly enjoying their morning coffee/brunch. All in all a great cafe, serving tasty food with a really friendly, warm atmosphere. We will definitely be regularly visiting and recommending. More places like this in Southbourne please!

Nice to have something a little different in the area which is tailored to a new market. Staff are friendly and were accommodating of my daughter's dietary needs.

Finally somewhere that serves speciality coffee in Bournemouth! Had a great Ethiopian pour over, something I never thought I'd get in Southbourne!It's not a cute, cosy cafe to take your nan to, but if you're looking for a great spot to meet mates or work in, this is a great choice. Plus a great menu and a bike shop with bike inspired decor, this is exactly what this rapidly improving street needed.Great job guys

Wow! The growing reputation of the Southbourne Grove cafe scene has been enhanced greatly by Velo Domestique, an informal but cleverly conceived restaurant. My daughter and I just popped in for tea and cakes this afternoon, and the guys, Dan and Robin made us feel so welcome.The rustic nature of the overall design from homemade benches and tables caught my imagination, so much so that I'm already planning my first coffee table made from old scaffold planks. Next time I will cycle there, have my brakes checked and make use of the new bicycle stands right outside, so thoughtfully contributed by Bournemouth Council as part of the regeneration scheme.Mark & Lucy

Had the pleasure of having lunch at one of Southbourne's newest eateries Velo Domestique. My partner and I were made very welcome by the two young men who run Velo. The place was light and airy and food was fantastic. Would recommend the homemade Cornish Pasty and Avocado on bruchetta which were both delicious. The soup looked amazing as well so will have to try that next time we are down there. We liked Velo so much that we went back three times during our stay and will definitely be going again when we are next in Southbourne.

A very welcome addition to the Southbourne food train. What a lovely surprise to find such a quality brunch and lunch spot. With items such as perfectly poached eggs with rocket on a bed of abundant avocado all served up on fresh ciabatta and topped with a delicious pasata. My daughter had a caramelised bacon and poached egg bagel, it was nothing short of scrumptious. To top it all off was a very decent cup of boscanova coffee, tooo say nothing of the staff would be a crime, so so lovely. You are missing out if you don't come and give it a go.

Popped along for a mid afternoon lunch with two friends to check out the recommended food menu and see what it's all about here. It's stripped back and functional with a long sweeping counter topped off with poured concrete. I didn't need my bike looked at today but it looked busy with plenty of cycles up on racks being repaired or upgraded. They had some subtle music vibes going on in the background and the atmosphere was easygoing with most of the tables occupied. We tucked into a North African shackshuka dish of rich tomato and peppers flavoured with fresh herbs all topped off with a poached egg and a healthy dollop of big bean and chorizo cassoulet that was perfect for a cold afternoon. Couldn't resist a slice of triple layered salted caramel cake and a sweet Dorset apple cake to finish. Totally yum and all in with a drink £33 for 3 of us. This is just the start of a journey into comfort and experimental food from Robin and a very busy season of bikeworks for Dan. They have a combo that works and think they have a vision that is excellent. We will be regular patrons that is for sure - though probably not so much for bike reasons...

Just opened. Had lovely breakfast here , original food definitely not your average greasy spoon I had bacon and egg bagel with spicy tomato and my husband African breakfast - a spicy vegetable stew with perfectly cooked poached egg. The staff were all helpful and charming especially Robin. We also had freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh ginger, lemon and honey tea. You can get your bike serviced at the same time. Dogs also welcome and fussed over which is a great bonus. Highly recommended
