Vegas in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Not it's normal standard. This is the second time the chips were not great. The tea was poor and the cup was only just over half full. Two portions of chips and two teas just shy of a tenner.

Can not fault the friendliness of the staff and ordering Gluten free was not a problem. The portions size of the fish and chips were very generous. The chips were nice and the gluten free batter was very good and fish cooked very well. However I felt like the chips and fish were straight out of the fryer and into the cardboard box with no chance of draining mean these were very oily which meant all the chips stuck to the cardboard box.

We visit Hunstanton often and usually drive into town for fish and chips. This shop is near where we usually stay so we thought we’d give it a try. The staff were lovely and very efficient everything seemed well organised. The fish and chips were excellent, fresh,hot and huge portions. It was cheaper than we’d paid in town and much nicer. We’ve found our new fish and chip shop!

Don't bother with this place the food was absolutely disgusting God only knows when they last changed the cooking oil and to top it off they had a manky kebab hanging upwhich the guy was cutting then went and started battering fish without washing his hands AVOID this place

Visited Vegas Fish Bar while staying in a caravan in Hunstanton. Ordered 2 Cod and Chips to eat outside in the undercover seating area. Waited about 10 minutes for our food to be cooked. Fish was hot with crispy batter and delicious and the chips hot and tasty too with generous portions. 2 lads serving inside were very pleasant and friendly. I would definitely recommend Vegas for tasty hot fish and chips.

Friendly service and fair prices. The chips and curry sauce were delicious and it was clear why there was a queue going down the street. There’s an option to ring your order through then come and collect, which is probably do next time to avoid queuing.

Had fish & chips here a year ago it was really nice. Had it in May and June wasn’t as good. Thought it might have been a quiet time. So today went at 6 busy time. We were really disappointed, chips where greasy, batter was hard and greasy piece of fish wasn’t very meaty , we’re really disappointed. The owner is really friendly staff are good place is really clean, just need to review the process.

An impromptu visit to this chippy was a delight tonight - Fish cooked fresh to order - perfectly cooked in crispy (but not greasy) batter and lovely chip shop chips in lashings of salt and vinegar with possibly the best ever sachets of tartare sauce I've had! I didn't have particularly higher expectations as it's just a chippy attached to an arcade by a road a little back from the fair by the seafront, but was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely staff, good safety regs, sensibly sized portions and wonderful chips.

Fish cooked to order - freshly and tasty in good batter, and a decent portion of chips done to perfection. What more could one possibly ask for? This is one of the very best fish and chips meals we have enjoyed in a long long time, and deserves a medal. The Vegas is a little out of the town, but is well worth a visit. Most noticeable is the cleanliness of the place, so clean that you almost feel you could eat off the floor. We've been before, and rarely been disappointed.

The staple Great British dish done at its very best. Classic Fish & Chips is for me one of my very most favourite dishes to have and these guys do it right ! It was busy (which is always a good sign) and everything was cooked fresh to order so make sure are prepared to wait a little while, but for nice fresh cooked food I do not see why anyone would complain about that. We had two special boxes with the fish and chips in and a tub of curry sauce and mushy peas. We absolutely loved every bite and would 100% use again when we are next in the area.

If you're out for a walk then chips are lovely. However the fish is a little bit lacking. Being right by the sea we thought it would be so fresh but it felt more fried and refried. We know some people have had great reviews but for us it didn't suit.

Ate here twice this week while on a short break in Norfolk. So difficult to find decent gluten free fish and chips and more than happy with our meal here. The fish was lovely with crispy batter, even had a battered sausage as can't get them in many places and it was perfect. The chips weren't the best we've ever had but they were fine and we enjoyed our meals, which is why we went back again. Will definitely visit again when back in Norfolk.

This place used to be the jewel of Hunstanton, years ago, always busy and the best place to visit. Unfortunately today’s offerings are not good. Chips were Burnt, dry and the sausage was something you’d find 4 for a pound coated in batter. I will not be visiting again until things begin to improve

The lad cooking burger used same utensil to pick raw chicken up to put on grill,food was cooked way too quickly and unhygienic sharing same utensil,I asked to speak to manager but he had gone out ,I felt sorry for the lad as clearly didn't know what he was doing and was under stress as also training new staff,in the end I just had money back and went somewhere else

Staff were not very friendly but order was taken promptly. While waiting for the food, all but one customer came in wearing a mask. Food, fish and chips of course, was good although portions were on the small size. It was ok.

Such good location and food was out fast, however the experience was ruined as we had to wait and watch, what I guess is the owner complain at the three young workers that where there at the time. I feel that if they're on work experience or part time they should not be treated in such manner.Apart from that food is lovely haddock was tasty and well done and so was my kids fish meals. The fish was fresh and succulent, the portions were generous and well seasoned. Very good value for money, however the owner or manager really ruined the experience for us. He was constantly yelling and berating his young workers, confusing the orders and blaming the workers for his mistakes. It was unpleasant to watch, the food was great however.

We read reviews and heard this was a good place.... Me and my friends went in to get some chips. Whilst one of my friends was trying to place an order (she was alone at the till when this happened), the two men who were taking her order kept saying "S*x on the beach, s*x on the beach" at her?! This left her, and us, feeling extremely uncomfortable and confused. Definitely not what she or us expected when we trying to just get some chips!?

Do you want a bag? The server said? "I'll be fine", I replied.I then manage to drop my lunch and make a bit of a mess. They cleared it up and replaced at no charge, and it was my fault entirely. Great food - recommended. The measures they've put in place for social distancing are thorough and effective.

We wanted a portion of gluten free fish n chips & we got it! Did some trip advisor research & thanks to a review a few days ago, opted to try it out. Given there are lots of fish n chip bars in Hunstanton & this one isn’t in the middle of the town, we were lucky we found out it was there. Pleased to see an entire GF menu & the meal prepared entirely away from non GF meals. Sensitively handled & staff that were aware of ingredients in ketchup & vinegar (vinegar supplied was GF!). Large crispy, well cooked cod; result! We did have to wait for it to be cooked but that’s absolutely fine!!! Our only request for improvement would be a bigger (wooden) chip fork. The tiny plastic ones are pretty useless! Thanks though guys. Nicely done & friendly staff.

Just bought a place near here and we went yesterday for various fish and chips, adult and child meals.All of it was freshly cooked to order (may be different in the season).Poring with rain outside and we took them home and all scoffed the lot - they were lovely.not the cheapest and not the most chips, but all that we had was really good.We'll be back.

Best gluten free fish and chips I have ever had. It does not look anything from the outside but has read so many reviews I decided to try it.They had a whole gluten free menu which was a welcome surprise and everything cooked in a different fryer.There was a bit of a wait but well worth it. The fish and chips were piping hot and obviously had been freshly cooked. This was the same for the non gluten free meals too.Husband had fish and chips and son had fish cakes and chips off the “normal” menu. Lovely.We could not fault this and prices not bad for a seaside town. Will definitely be revisiting.

Me and my son called in. We shared 3 sausages and a portion of chips between us. The staff were not grumpy but very stern. The chips were just warm with no flavour and been sitting there for a while. The sausages were bland and cheap but at least they were hot. £6.00 wasted but it filled a hole

I was recommended this for takeaway fish & chips by the hotel I was staying in locally in Heacham. I can’t eat gluten so was delighted to discover they can do nearly all of their battered items gluten free!Oh my, I had plaice and chips, all freshly cooked and utterly delicious, in fact the best I have eaten. Thank you so much guys for making the extra effort to offer gluten free on your menu, it made my trip! :)

Bit of a wait to get the takeaway but as everything is freshly cooked it is well worth the wait. Plenty of delicious chips enough to share. I had the cod roe which was lovely, hubby had the cod which was a generous portion & he really enjoyed it, the batter was crisp and not at all greasy, I had to sneak a piece it looked so good. Everything was still hot when we got it home, about 15/20 minutes away.

It does what is says on the tin, it provides great fish and chips fast and hot. Cannot beat that! We have been here a few times and always enjoy the food and the fact that you can have a seat right outside or round the back to enjoy your chips hot.

Visited last Thursday tea time (22nd Aug) the food was lovely, BUT the service was REALLY bad, the lady who served us was completely rude, no service skills at all, its not like they were busy and rushed off their feet, in fact most of them stood around checking their phone. When my chips were delivered she asked IN OR OUT???? I said takeaway please to which she slammed the boxes on the counter.... even the people behind were shocked. The chips maybe nice but the service is much better in the main town, doubt I will be back. sort out your customer service guys and girls!

We have stayed in hunstanton quite often and have always come to Vegas for fish and chips as it was probably one of the best. However this time round it was a let down. The fish was mediocre and chips didnt taste very nice. Very small bits of fish and worked out quite expensive for what we got. I'm sorry to say I dont think we will be back

I can only feedback on the chips. The experience we had was fantastic the chips were non-greasy, had a nice fresh smell about them. Some seaside chip shops has that awful greasy smell which i can not stand. This place was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Will go back when in the area again.
