Great staff, great food and fab atmosphere :) Went mid-week and was pretty quiet, nice seating and music ! 100% recommend :) PS Huge student discount (hence the extra sides we got)

Van Winkle's is a place I have wanted to visit for years, but is in a area of the city I do not visit all that often. Was attening the Richard Hawley gig at the Barrowland's across the road, and decided to put it right at last. Pre-booked and glad I did as it was VERY busy, and no chance we would have got a table if we had just walked up. Great settings and good music. Staff are brilliant and took our orders in no time and asked how our meal was and of we needed more drinks. Mainly burgers on the menu, so me and my wife went for the chili cheese burgers, along with a few beers, and a side order of Haloumi fries (A MUST!!!!!!). All in all, price was really good, and food was excellent, so will most certainly visit here again in future.

The food here was awesome, loved every bite. I had a Haggis burger and dirty fries.my wife had the pulled pork burger that was also great. All in all you won't be disappointed. Loved quiet little place that's well decorated and clean.

We recently visited here with our 3 teenage kids and our dog. The atmosphere was brilliant, cocktails were really good. We all got different burgers, and all of us enjoyed them, the kids ate it all (which is rare) the staff were friendly, we definitely will be back. Great family dinner out.

If I could give a zero I would. Possible the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. Walked out after waiting an hour for our meal, which still hadn’t arrived. The waiter continually telling us 5 minutes. If you are incapable of covering a meal service for the number of folk that were in I would suggest you do not take as many bookings in future. Will not return

Friend had Macaroni and chips which she really enjoyed. I had a halloumi burger which was lovely, a bit oily but tasty nonetheless. Really nice coleslaw too. The dug had chicken and peas and ice cream for afters, all scoffed except for the peas :D Loved the corrugated bogs and poster walls and thank you mille fois for having women's toilets and not gender neutral, so many eateries scratched off my list because of this. The young woman serving us was lovely and we felt very welcome. We will be back :D

Went for a few drinks and some food before McFly at the barrowlands with the wife and friends, food was all incredible and staff were all really friendly and knowledgable about the different bourbons, red haired bartender (never got a name) was excellent and told us all about why the van winkle bourbon is so expensive, overall great experience and will definitely be back

Déjeuné le 04/06/2023. Nous avons d'abord atteri à l'autre Van Winkle à cause d'une guide très médiocre et on a perdu un temps précieux. Ensuite, on est arrivé à celui-ci, le service a été rapide pour notre groupe de 30. Mais pour ce qui est de la nourriture... Une entrée avec des beignets, une plat principal composé de pâtes en sauce blanche accompagnées de frites (eh oui, vous ne rêvez pas...) et pour terminer une boule de glace vanille avec une gaufre industrielle nappée de coulis de caramel et de chocolat!!!! Comme je n'aime pas gâcher la nourriture et que j'avais faim après avoir déambulé dans la Nécropole, j'ai tenu à finir mon assiette... je l'ai payé le soir même avec un bon mal de ventre et en étant très brassé vu le gras et le sucre ingérés... Bref, la malbouffe américaine n’est pas une légende, j'en ai eu la preuve ce midi... Chacun de ses ingrédients restait bon au gout mais mettre tout ça ensemble dans un même repas, c'était tout sauf indiqué d'un point de vue gastronomique...

Only been a couple of times but the drinks and the menu are spot on, and it's down to the girl from Irvine(not sure of her name) who works behind the bar, a credit to the bar. The decor its fantastic, ps, just a pity she supports the wrong team lol. Will be back again and soon.

Myself and my boyfriend visited Van Winkle on Saturday night for some food and a few drinks, our service was nice and quick. They had a simple southern menu which tasted amazing…as well as the cocktails! We enjoyed the casual vibe and would visit again 🥰

We came in on the day of the Glasgow 10k and half marathon and desire being busy, managed to get a table. The young man who served us was friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and the whole atmosphere of the place was nice. Toilets were also clean and tidy (often the measure of a place in my book!) We’ll definitely be back. Thanks Van Winkle.

Visited today on a whim after passing by. 2 of us had the 5 cheese Mac n Cheese with chips, one had the Chicken and Waffles and I had the small plate Chicken Tenders and fries. We all agreed the Chicken was the best we'd had in Glasgow in a long time! The crispy coating was incredible and full of flavour. My husband said the gravy served with the Chicken and Waffles was unreal. Same was said for the Mac N Cheese, really tasty and perfect with chips. To top it off the atmosphere was lovely and so were the staff. They were so friendly from when we walked in until we left and are a definite asset to Van Winkle! We'll absolutely be back 👌🏻

Found this place by accident when visiting a local business (which ironically was closed) so when heading to Morrison’s for a snack before going home we spotted Van Winkle’s and decided to have a lunch instead. Great decision. Best Mac Cheese ever (and I think my own recipe is 5star) with chips, and my aunt had Mac Cheese and Halloumi fries. As it was still quite early we didn’t have room for dessert..but maybe next time. Finished off with the perfect coffees. However, I’m annoyed with myself for not asking the name of the young man who served us as he was smart, friendly and polite and we enjoyed our chat. He is definitely an asset to the business. Oh, and everything was immaculate 👍

Staff were great and food was lovely! Saw a review saying Philly cheese wasn't cheesy enough, but our friends commented that it was too cheesy which we laughed at because it's like saying steak pie is too beefy 😆 Burger was tasty and I really liked the tacos 👌

Have eaten here numerous times before a gig at the Barrowlands and I have never been disappointed. The burgers are tasty but the real stars of the show are the staff. They are so pleasant and welcoming that it feels like a wrench to cross the road for the gig.
