Steak Cattle & Roll - Merchant Square in Glasgow City

Booked online for a Saturday night. Good job as it was very busy! Their food menu is varied so something for everyone. The portions are very big! The onion ring stack is nice but very greasy. The chicken burgers are lovely. They have a good drink selection. The cocktails are tasty. The member of staff who served us was very attentive and efficient, regularly asking if we needed more drinks so can’t fault the service at all. Really enjoyed our night out there.

I had been recommended SC&R by a colleague,so decided to give it a bash. I spotted the 2 foot hotdog they did,and being the type who enjoys a challenge,opted for this. The thjng was ridiculously huge,and given i’d been at a party the night before and was feeling a bit queasy,I knew it was gonna be a task. The food tasted amazing.I’d have preferred a softer bun rather than crusty French bread,but decided to tuck in anyway. 30 mins later,the sausage was gone,but I could only fit half the bun in and was ready to burst. At £16,it was good value,and I’ll definitely be back to try it again when i’m better prepared. Waiter and waitresses were great,making sure our drinks were topped up (the cocktail list is the funniest one I’ve seen),and its all set in the lovely surroundings if Merchant Square. Brilliant burgers and steak!! The cocktails are rather nice also. Friendly staff. Would defo return next time we are in Glasgow.

I have come to SC&R a good few times now with my partner, and have invited friends and family to repeat visits, every time we go we are always served promptly, seated and looked after, the staff are always great. The Food is always well cooked, never had any issues with the foods, look, temp or taste. It's always arriving in a timely manner and cannot complain. SC&R is a 5 in my book anytime!

Express Lunch was great value and waitress wonderful. Popped in with my daughter on a dreicht Glasgow lunchtime and we fancied a wee burger etc. The waitress was a star throughout. Lunch menu for a £10 was great value.. big portions as well

Met family at this establishment last night initially served by a lovely waitress I ordered a bottle of prosecco to be served when my family arrived. This waiter brought it with a bit of attitude I asked could he open when my family arrived he shrugged ok but you cannot open I must do it!!! My family arrived waved at the waiter to open about 5 minutes later he stormed over to the table shouting could you not see I was busy really aggressive we were all stunned disgraceful behaviour put a damper on our evening we were going to eat there but went elsewhere this person should not work in hospitality.

Popped in for a late lunch yesterday and the staff squeezed us in even though we didn't have a booking which was good. The food was the usual high quality but a review of the wine on offer is badly overdue. I think we've now tried all the dry whites but all are pretty terrible if i'm being honest. I'm not a wine snob by any stretch but the wines on offer here are of poor quality. I'm not a beer or cocktail drinker so i'm pretty stuck to the wine on offer.

We popped in here for a quick drink. It has a good atmosphere and the decor is very nice. The drinks menu is quite extensive. Sadly, they didn’t have the only rum I wanted on the menu which was a shame but there was others to choose from. The service was very friendly. We will try the food next time. The onion ring stack looked huge and very tasty!!

Came here for dinner and cocktails on Monday. Cocktails were really nice - a wee bit pricey but meh Food was beautiful as always, portions are big so be careful when ordering 😂😂

had great service from a young girl called Skye!! she was brilliant, very communicative and chatty. made our experience great. however other staff kept to themself and not much help. food was great and drinks too!! good price for city centre! Visited for a mid week lunch and was surprised how good it was! £10 for a burger fries and drink, large portion and very tasty, nachos were best i have had for a while. Service was friendly and fast! Definitely recommend and will be returning.

I booked a table for 11 online. When we arrived for our booking we were given 2 booths which were back to back with no way of talking to each other. When i asked if we could get a table together, the server asked me if i had requested to sit together on my booking - as if this isn’t something they should assume when you book a table! There was no mention of our booking being split over 2 tables and the server was rude when i challenged it. All that they needed to do was to communicate the booking would have been over 2 tables prior to us arriving incase that didn’t suit (which it didn’t) and say sorry. Neither of these things happened and instead i got a sarcastic comment back. Won’t be back. Shame because food was good but service was rubbish.

Lovely night here on Saturday night was very busy and fantastic atmosphere. Prefect service from a lovely lady. Only one negative the food was delicious apart from the chips as they were bit to greasy but they might be fine for someone else taste buds. We have visited here twice already and will definitely be back
