I ate alone as had just finished work on a Saturday. Firstly the positives: I had a tasty Lamb Rogan Josh, with freshly prepared rice & a light Nan bread. The pops & dips we’re good although I would have liked some chopped onions. The draught kingfisher was also v good. The only negative is they do not offer a discount off the menu prices for collecting a take away. Their competitors do offer min 10% off if you collect. I found the staff friendly and attentive.

To be honest the best indian food I had after I came to U.K. Especially the Tandoori chicken wow it's fantastic 😋 and absolutely delicious. We had that spl chicken biryani this biryani which represents the famous hyderabad biryani I recommend u guys must try this. Not only those two items what we had everything is fantastic and the best thing we have observed its there quality 👌 Quality matters URBAN Dhaba is >>>>>>>>> all restaurants in Milton keynes. Unfortunately I do not recommend people to eat at this premises as it’s so cold & has no ambiance - needs decorating. The service was slow & the waiters gave the impression that they didn’t want to be there. I would recommend take away as the food was quite delicious & good value for money.

I have been to this place on several occasions and despite requesting mild, their food is always spicy which doesn’t cater to my requirements and also due to my body not able to tolerate spice. We had ordered drinks and when we had asked the waiter after some time, they said they had forgot which is not what is expected. It was also very slow service as only 2 staff working. One of us requested bottle of cobra and the waiter was misunderstanding thinking we asked for drought. Seems like the management is not very good as other places have been better and catered. Will not visit again and do not recommend

Before this restaurant moved we considered it the best in Milton Keynes. Now it is shambolic!!! The food was edible however it contained so much spice you couldn’t taste anything else. The restaurant itself is cold, I had 3 and I was still freezing! It lacks ambience and absolutely NO professionalism from the staff. There’s only one member of staff working the floor so it’s the service level is dreadful. Despite only have 2 other tables occupied it took over 25 minutes for our drinks, the water never arrived and near enough an hour for our mains and then there was a dish missing!!! The lack of attentiveness/awareness of these mistakes was frustrating. We had to ask for cutlery to which we were given knifes and forks when needed spoons. The waiter bought over 2 when we’re a table of 6! We had to request them to clear away the starter plates but even that seemed a chore!! When we asked for some yogurt for the children as the food was so spicy it took so long to arrive long their food was cold!! It’s not surprising the restaurant was so empty as they have absolutely no hospitality skills!!! They barely acknowledged our complaints let alone apologised for it. I never write reviews but felt compelled as they showed such arrogance at our complaints about their lack of BASIC customer service. It’s no surprise we won’t return and will tell others to avoid too.

I ordered food delivery from Urban Dhaba for a birthday party of about 50 people. The food was delivered to the venue on time. All menu items were very tasty. The food quality and taste were well appreciated and liked by all guests. Spices used were at the right level. Sri helped to plan the menu for the party. Thanks to Urban Dhaba for the delightful food liked by all.

Our first visit. Menu is a lovely change, offering a wide range of dishes not usually found on most Indian restaurant menus with plenty of the old favourite dishes too. All priced very, very reasonably. Food was well presented and delicious. Plenty of non-alcoholic drink options plus lots of cocktail, beer and wine choices too. Service was really good, friendly, helpful and efficient. Decor is an unusual mix of rustic and industrial which somehow works to create a pleasantly warm and welcoming atmosphere. Very much looking forward to our next visit.

I’m so pleased to discover that this excellent Punjabi restaurant hasn’t closed but has moved to the Lloyds Court, opposite the main shopping centre. This place serves possibly the best Indian food I’ve ever had (even after four visits to India). It’s so authentic they even have Limca and Thums Up. I had the chicken massala. It’s nothing like the red, creamy dish you might have had before. It has a great depth of flavour and is warmly spiced. Buttered naan, basmati rice. Perfect. Big portions too or I’d have added the Chicken 65 to start. Or maybe one of their excellent Puri dishes. It’s fantastic and it’s pretty cheap too. Absolutely recommend without hesitation.

Good food. Ok Service. Expect service delays even when it is quite. In my experience, they are usually short staffed when quite. I have seen the manager running around serving 3-4 table on his own and no other staff present on floor. So, if you are looking for good food and if you have plenty of time to kill at hand, then UD is a nice place to eat in a leisurely environment.

It was Calcutta Rescue's Milton Keynes chapter.. the 2nd fund-raiser lunch within 3 months and this time to celebrate Valentine Day.. People braved the weather, storm Dennis not the least, ensured a full house to support a noble cause! The entire event was ably & whole-heartedly supported by our host Urban Dhaba.. The restaurant gives you a traditional Indian Dhaba kind of an ambience although indoors.. Spacious and spread out with a stage area as well.. The quintessential charpai s (knitted cot), lanterns, image of an Indian truck adorning one of the walls.. Food served in steel plates.. the other thing and most important thing about an Indian Dhaba is the warmth of the staff, the feel-good factor you get.. Food is cooked with love and served with love.. Many thanks to Kavita & team for bringing Dhaba atmosphere into life indoors.. Coming to the food.. Authentic Indian food on the offering.. Chicken Tikka Veer, Gobi Manchurian, Papri Chaat, Dal Makhani, Palak Paneer, Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan e Nishat (Kashmiri Lamb curry), Veg Biryani, Gulab Jamun, Shrikhand - everything was delicious, yummylicious.. Next time I'm in Milton Keynes I'll be having my meal here.. Highly recommended!!

We've just finished visiting urban dhaba on valentine's day. We got a nice cosy table near the window. We decided to let our waiter order for us. The pre-starter food we got was papadums with 3 different sauces. The green one was full of coriander which I loved. As our starter arrived it was chilli chicken. Excelently cooked. Great flavour. Nice spice and succulent. We just fell in love with the spices. The Indian Sauvignon we had, washed away the extra hotness and was a great compliment to the chicken. Our mains consisted of chicken and lamb curry. I do have to say it's hard to cook a great lamb but they've nailed it! Nice and easy to tear apart, great sauce and aromas. It was absolutely delightfull. The chicken was a bit too spicy for my taste but nonetheless beautiful. As a pudding we shared a brownie. Definitely recommentStaff were nice and patient. Will return. Thank you.

We went to this place on New Year’s Day for lunch. Although we were the 2nd lot of customers, they ran out of the basic buttermilk or lassi drinks. The lady who was waitressing lied to us that the kitchen was closed for new orders ( this was midst our meal) but entertained new customers. Although the food was tasty, the service was abysmal. If the lady is in there again, we would make an about turn and won’t bother entering.

I've been here many times, both at lunch and dinner and always had a pleasant experience. Their lunchtime non-veg thali's are great! However, on this occasion we visited at 958pm on a Friday night only to be told the kitchen was closing and we couldn't enter. No explanation, no nothing, just blank expressions from the waiters who were hurriedly clearing up whilst a couple were dining. Obviously the staff had somewhere better to be. I hope this was a one-off as we regularly visit around at this time. We will try again soon and hopefully it'll be a better experience.

First impressions were good but the entrance is out of sight of the bar so we were hanging about for a few minutes before we were noticed. The staff were generally ok but not overly friendly or attentive.Menu wise it was a bit strange, as a connoisseur I've had countless currys and I've not been in a restaurant that hasn't got an onion bajhii on the menu before! The food was mediocre, with all of the dishes being heavily spiced (including the korma!) If you dont like spicy food then this definitely isn't the place for you.My biggest problem though is that I emailed the restaurant a week before hand asking about where they sourced their meat, the quality and checking they used meat from ethically farmed sources - no reply. I therefore didn't order any meat dishes but others did and the general feel was that the meat was clearly cheap so almost certainly broiler chicken that's been injected with antibiotics and growth hormone all its life. I suspect the lack of reply confirms this which is a shame in 2019 that they can't use ethically sourced food. All in all a disappointing meal from a restaurant I cant recommend :(

Given the good reviews on Tripadvisor, we were very very disappointed with this restaurant.I reserved a table online and got a very brief email from a mobile phone(!) to confirm, stating only that my reservation was confirmed, but not confirming the time or date of the reservation or giving any details of the restaurant. When I replied to ask for confirmation of the time and date they get the wrong month(!), so that had to be corrected. If I hadn't been able to see the restaurant name from the email address used I would not have remembered the name (or been able to find the address) of the restaurant. From the moment we walked in at 6pm last night, the service was underwhelming. The restaurant is a very large room with many tables. No-one came to welcome us. (Many people arrived while we were in the restaurant and none were greeted. One group of three eventually sat themselves down, at which point they were immediately asked by the staff to move, so they just walked out.) I had to go to the bar right at the back to get anyone's attention. We were told we could sit at any table set for two, so we chose one. Then we were told that table was reserved as part of a party of eight, so we had to move (ignoring the fact that we had a reservation, although I don't think they found any record of it!).The waiter who took our order was obviously new and very nervous but he did get the order right and everything arrived pretty quickly. The peshwari naan was tasty but dripping with oil. My wife's lamb shank was good, but my chicken curry was mainly bones. The sauce was tasty but there was very little chicken meat. There were several groups of small rib-type bones with virtually no meat on them. The chicken appeared to have died of starvation! On paying the bill there was no question from the waiter about whether or not we had enjoyed the meal. The waiter even keyed the bill total into his card machine before he gave it to me to check. He was obviously not expecting a tip, and didn't get one. He left and we just showed ourselves out with no farewell from anyone.A thoroughly dispiriting experience, which will not be repeated.

I visited this restaurant largely because it was near my hotel and I wanted a curry. What was an exercise in laziness on my part actually turned into something of an unexpected pleasure and surprise. The menu was quite unlike those you would see in most Indian restaurants in the UK. At first, that somewhat threw me. I was thrown again when a metal tray was left on my table - I couldn't understand what it was for until my food arrived and I realised that it was my plate. What an idiot! Nonetheless, I have to say that the food was very good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A lot of the other diners appeared to have Indian or British Indian roots and so I took this to be an endorsement of authenticity. Either way, it was good.

I’ve eaten here several times and I’ve been aware on the first two occasions of a lot of children in the restaurant. Some may be the owners, some are clearly diners. Maybe it’s the culture to allow the kids to run freely but for me, it’s totally unacceptableOnly when the food is served are the children called to the table and for a time silence reigns. But what about the folk already eating in the restaurant? It’s literally like trying to dine in the middle of a children’s playground as they scream, laugh, play games around you as you dine and then of course, the crying and the tantrums Far too old for this, the food is 9/10 but the atmosphere is 1/10 at best

I would definitely give UD a good 4.5 on their food which took me back to flavours of India journey and in particular Delhi where food is a big thing. Liked the sheer authenticity of the food and my 3 year old son liked the Dal and jeera rice and according to him it’s better than home cooked ♂️( a bit gutted there and need to up my game at home). The downside are a)UD needs to create a good ambience inside as the decor looked very basic and could add more rustic look like that in a proper Dhaba. b) need to lift their customer service by including waiting area; friendly looking personnel.Overall happy with this find and definitely for proper Indian food would suggest a visit to UD. I had all my favourites, the chicken lollipop is that same as the ones you eat in India and so is the pani puri like the streets of Mumbai! I ordered the Baingan Bharta for main along with Punjabi Chicken Masala - OMG!!! The butter naan was perfect. My husband is Italian and has been to India a number of times and even he said the food was perfect and typically Indian. What a great experience. The staff is great, the manager/owner came to enquire if everything was alright and the waiters were polite. The wait was not long at all, the food is all made fresh and from scratch so if you have to wait it’s because of that (like in India) Great experience!!!! Thank you

The Urban Dhaba is right in the middle of MK, just across the road from the main centre. The food is exceptional - delicious Indian flavours, but with a fantastic twist. Try the Punjabi Samosa Chaat for the best and most unexpected Samosa dish I have ever had.

I had visited this restaurant atleast 5 times till now with my family , friends.Very nice interiors, excellent staff.Excellent authenticate Indian restaurant and taste.Punjabi Samosa chat, Aloo Tikki, Paneer curries, Bhaigan Bharta, Vegetarian Biryani (Jack Fruit) etc.All the food was excellent , however felt Jack fruit in Biryani did not go well.Portion size is little , could have been a bit more.Definitely worth visiting but not a cheap restaurant as the prices are higher compared to other restaurants in MK.

My first visit and overall a very good experience. I liked the bright decor and space. The staff were very helpful in explaining a couple of items on the menu and they did not quibble when my initial starter was a bit heavy for me and I ordered veg samosas instead. For my main meal I had a spicy chicken curry on the bone with pillau rice and a mint paratha. Overall very good food however my paratha was a bit greasy. I would definately return with friends and hope they have homemade kulfi next time.

initially when the restaurant opened newly, taste was good, now-a-days finding gravy is very common in all the curry items. And best biryani,,,,,,common,,,,no flavours at all. This is another inline as bangla ones.

We have visited this restaurant a few times now as the menu has a great selection of dishes from all around India. On our last visit, we had a big family reunion of 21 members visiting from abroad, they all loved the food, the decor and all the staff ensured that we had a perfect lunch.

I really enjoyed the food, well flavoured and spicy, my wife however was very disappointed. She was dithering about her choice, she only likes very mild dishes. She was going to order Baingan Bharta, but at the suggestion of the waiter had Bhindi Dopiaza and really didn't like it, unfortunately she didn't mention this until after we had left otherwise I would have complained.

From the decor to the menu it is like being there, I have never been to a Indian restaurant like it. The menu had so many dishes I had never heard of which was great. The portions were generous and the taste was amazing. If you like to try different foods and want a great selection for vegetarians this is the place for you.

I have been to Urban Dhaba with family and parents. My kids always enjoy the premises and the ambience is too good. Twice a week, as a team we go to Urban Dhaba for lunch. As per my experience, Very good tasty food and nice service. For me, Dum Biryani and Chicken Tandoori are the best and i always go for these items. The best part is Catering, we ordered food (60 members - 10 varieties) for my daughter's 9th Birthday 3 months back and the items, variety and taste of the food provided was truly amazing and each and everyone asked about the origin of the food and i said Urban Dhaba. Isn't this enough to give a FIVE STAR.Go and enjoy with friends and family.

Have been to Urban Dhaba with Family, friends and other party events a minimum of 70-80 times. This is the best restaurant for Ambience and food. I bet, when it comes to enjoyment and having fun, no kid can enjoy anywhere else in the UK restaurants except for Urban Dhaba. Coming to the food, absolutely tasty and reliable compared to other Indian restaurants. Waiting time for food is common in any restaurant but, here it is not much as far as i am experienced. I always refer to all my friends, colleagues and acquaintance to have a visit if they are in and around MK.Go and give a try people!!

Since it’s opening we have been there a number of times. Food quality and authenticity never disappoints. The variety and the taste make it a place of choice.Over a period of time, my favourite dishes are the mutton chukka, kodi polusu and lobster tail curry. The kathal biryani is pretty good too.In terms of service, it can be quite slow even when the restaurant is not very busy.

Full marks for Food. However service hasn’t improved from the time this restaurant was opened. I had been there on a weekday to lunch with friends, food was good unlike my previous buffet experience. But the service is not great atall. They have to be bit pro active.

I'm dutch invited by an British Indian family friend to try out tasty Indian food. I must admit this is the best Indian food I have ever eaten in my life time. I did visit plenty of Indian restaurants before but UB scores in all aspects. Food is delicious and cheap too cost wise compared with other Indian eateries out there. I had Biryani with Kudi pulse both are mixed too well. I tasted Rabbit keema too so nice, not too oily as well. I would certainly visit to this restaurant regularly and highly recommend if anyone wants to have Indian.

So if like me you are Indian born and bred.... and feel disappointed at most of the 'indian' restaurants in the UK.... you need to try this place..... amazing! Not the typical usual menu you find at most Indian places and certainly not bangladeshi food impostering Indian.... it's authentic Indian menu with a variety of dishes from various regions. Love it, love it, love it! Go and try it... staff were great... please keep the food this great always!

What can I not say about Urban Dhaba - simply amazing food! authentic to the T! We were a little doubtful at first but came here based on the reviews and they did not disappoint. We ordered many dishes and all of them were excellent - really tasty with real spice. And the drinks selection was excellent - I had a bottle of red wine which was under £20 and it really appealed to our palettes, they had a good selection within reasonable range. One person ordered the Pan Mojito - this is the best Mojito i've ever had - even compared to an alcoholic one. It had all the flavours of pan and it just worked SO well - it truly is a genius invention! Would definitely go back just to eat there even though it's some 50 miles away! The staff were also lovely and the restaurant had a pleasant family atmosphere.

We visited this restaurant early evening on Saturday the 10th June. Well what can we say, except quite brilliant! The food was exceptional, very tasty, well seasoned, spicy enough and full of flavour. A taste of true India! The service matched the quality of the food, excellent! Very friendly, helpful staff, nothing was to much trouble. Its testament to a good restaurant that it was full with families enjoying the food and ambience of the place by the time we left. Hopefully on our next visit to Bucks we will visit again

ouldn't Even give this restaurant a 1 but had to to be able to write a review. Absolutly appauling!!!!!!! As they no nothing about Allergens!! My wife has a nut allergy and when asked the waiter if certain dishes contains NUTS he advised that certain ones didnt. However, when my wifes dish came out and she had couple of mouth fulls, my wife had a reaction. When asking the waiter again that does the massala contain nuts he asked the chef and then stated that it contains Cashew nuts. Sorry isnt this a nut. He then stated that she said peanuts. No we said nuts which is the same thing!! They need to be re trained on Allergens as they have no clue what so ever. I would advise anyone with any sort of allergy, especially nut allergy to forget about eating here, as they have no clue on any of these Allergens. My wife had a bad reaction and was even sick in the toilets because of this. Stay clear if you have a peanut allergy or any allergy.

Easy to find, free parking after 6pm. Quick and friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Meat dishes were flavoursome, however the vegetarian dishes were a let down, bland with very little flavours. Samosa in the samosa chaat didn’t seem as it was freshly fried, corn pani puris were plain and dull. No dishes specifically for children. Overall, an ok experience.

Severe weather with heavy rain and storms and dressed for the beach led us to do a quick search of nearby restaurants on Trip Adviser . So lucky this restaurant was nearby as superb all round experience. Really lovely decor and ambience, efficient and friendly service from all and really refreshing and very authentic menu - proper food ( no tikka Marsala or Korma here). So many vegetarian options all of which I had never seen before- actually made it so hard to choose ! All four of our party tried dishes we had never had and totally agreed it was definitely on our list of best meals out ever. Flavour was exceptional, perfect seasoning and so aromatic- divine! The flash flooding that was closing several roads and underpasses around us also caused major issues to many of the buildings around us - the poor team at this restaurant had to deal with copious amounts of water pouring through ceiling and we really felt for them! They dealt so professionally with it and it didn’t affect our visit.Thank you very much for excellent evening and we will hopefully get to come back soon!

We had a good initial discussion about the requirements for our lunch party , they were open and honest about the pricing. They gave us multiple options from the menu to choose from and also personally recommended some signature dishes .Overall food was excellent all the guests were very happy with it , quantity was good and service was prompt. I would definitely visit again with family and recommend my friends also to try it. They are very punctual in delivery and one of the owners came to deliver the food in person which added a personal touch to it.Only suggestion I would make is to consider set up time for catering orders as mentioned to the team in person as well.Punctuality, food, service is all very good and would recommend to everyone to try.

I am a bit of a veteran of Indian restaurants around UK and wherever I travel I try the local Indian. It was therefore a bit of a surprise to go to one where none of the items on the menu were familiar to me! The restaurant was packed with Indian people and the meal was absolutely excellent so I reckon this was more of an Indian Indian than the typical British Indian. Well worth a visit.

Some items on the menu are uncommonly found on the average Indian/Bangladeshi menu. Sadly, the menu includes items no longer available! In the starters, Chicken 65 was both tasty and fresh and, happily, was not served with a salad of wet shredded lettuce and pale tasteless tomatoes!I visited the restaurant to have the soft shell crabs. However, it transpires that the item has been removed from the menu. Cheekily, the lobster dish came with an unsolicited naan, which was charged for!The restaurant does not possess a coffee machine, according to the waiter. Despite the novel menu, this restaurant needs to try harder if it wishes to be taken seriously.
