Great restaurant, friendly staff great selection good food highly recommend! they serve breakfast, lunch etc. bacon sandwich and sausage sandwich are really nice! highly recommend

I was told to try this venue by a good friend, he was spot on, the bacon sandwich was superb, coffee served is very good. The staff were really knowledgeable and friendly. Not a cheap place to go for breakfast I will grant you, however I believe it is not an expensive one either, as the quality is excellent. Will not be my last visit for sure

2nd time here for me and my boy, ordered bacon sandwich and sausage sandwich with apple juice and cappuccino. We split the sandwiches between us cause we haven't tried the sausage sandwich before. What can I say both cooked to perfection and best I have ever tasted, the look on my sons face was priceless, and the drinks finished off a perfect breakfast. Thank you and we will be back.

My wife got me a sausage making master class for Xmas. As an ex-chef I wasn’t sure what I would get from it. What an evening I had forgotten what a pleasure it is to spend time in the company of someone so passionate and knowledgable about their trade. Great entertainment using the sausage machine and the products I’ve come away with are fantastic. Simon is a butcher that cares about traceability using the best the forest provides. Real great night out will book more.

Popped in after a long run as I knew the breakfast would refuel me ! The sausages and bacon are so tasty, nothing like you can buy anywhere else. The quantities of bacon sausage and to die for black pudding (AMAZING !) is great. Today I swapped out the lovely thick bread for an extra sausage … for my boy, he is a mini sausage 🤣😉 I also had a great Americano coffee and a small bottle of Chilean Merlot.. recommend that also 👍 Steak Wrap Dave

I heard about the world wide winning Hagis and just had to try it.It definitely lived up to it's reputation and was absolutely delicious,Id definitely recommend it to anyone and it gets ten out of ten from me 🤤

Uptons has it all. Amazing quality meat and Full English Breakfasts which taste out of this world, lovely staff and brilliant pop-up themed evenings. With so many award winning dishes on the menu, you’re spoilt for choice. Gluten free bacon and sausage sandwiches are a hit with our children and we recommend this place to everyone we know.

I visited Uptons of Basset today and was impressed with how they manage a unique blend of being a deli-butcher and a cafe. The homemade cured collar bacon in my bacon sandwich was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I couldn't resist taking some of their bacon, scotch eggs, and sausage rolls home. A lovely place that definitely deserves your visit!

I have lived in Southampton all my life and driven past this place, probably a thousand times,but recently saw a review on line which made me come and visit. I feel cheated, why haven't I visited here before, years before. Me and my boy popped in this morning and order two bacon sandwiches, cappuccino and an apple juice. What can I say, wonderful service, bacon sandwiches to die for, the best bacon I have ever tasted, the best cappuccino I have had in a long time and very and a very reasonable price. Thank you all for a great start to a Saturday, and we will definitely be back.

I went to buy some sausages (they are the best in the country!) and could not resist the buzzing atmosphere of the bistro. I had this sensational wrap with beef and feta cheese, warm, delicious with juicy minced beef and creamy feta. To continue, the Slovakian cheesecake from Mrs. Uptons family recipe book- a light, fruity baked cheesecake that went really well with a cup of tea. Well done guys!

Heard such good reports about this place so thought we'd give it a try. My husband and I ordered the eggs Benedict. When it arrived we were most disappointed. It was served on toast which was burnt on the edges ( saw the chef scraping the toast to get rid of the other burnt bits!) The eggs were small and the hollandaise sauce was so sparse we couldn't taste it. The bacon was good though.We waited a good half an hour for our lunch to be served so all in all we won't be going back.

Went for brunch after Baby group nearby with my daughter and her baby. All 3 of us happy with our choices from menu. 2 Superb Coffees, full English and bacon sandwich. Baby sat in her buggy to eat and was no problem. First tiny taste of Upton sausage, toast etc Our family Always look forward to our treat going here! Bought an Upton steak pie for meal next day and it was perfection.

I just sampled the ox heart burgers which are really amazing burgers, so rich and tasty. And I also had the standard burgers which are quite honestly very tasty as well as the fat content is bang on. I'm going to have to try some of their other delicacies but I am very impressed by what I've had so far. 💯🔥

Came in today with my step dad for family and it was absolutely amazing I had a full English never been a fan of black pudding but their homemade one is delicious! Will only ever eat it there. My step dad had a steak and it was divine.

Quick, good quality, home-cooked, friendly, clean. In addition to organic meat and eggs and award-winning burger, duck wrap and bagel(!) they serve beer, wine, good apple juice and deserts. We will return.

We chose Uptons over a year ago, to cater for our wedding in July, and took a 3 hour drive to visit last week in order to taste the food in advance of the day. It was well worth the trip!! We were treated to an array of delicious food, served with a smile and such knowledge and flexibility in helping us decide what to have on our wedding day.Simon and the team are so passionate about what they do, and it comes across through the service and the food alike. We feel so confident entrusting one of the most important parts of our day in their hands, and we can't wait to be able to share their culinary expertise with our guests. The chocolate brownies are also OUT OF THIS WORLD! Wish we'd brought more home :'(

We went for lunch and I had the pork pie with a side of piccalilli and it was very tasty as usual. I have this almost everytime I go. My partner had a chicken wrap and it looked amazing and he rated it one of the best chicken wraps he's ever had. I will be having that wrap on my next visit. We finished with a chocolate Brownie which literally melted in your mouth. Excellent service and very welcoming with great food and a sunny outdoor seating area.

Wanted to do a family roast for mothers day as haven't been able to do one for ages. so decided to treat ourselves to some beef fore rib, was unsure how to cook it so asked for Cooking instruction, which produced one of the best if not the best joint we had, can not wait to come back again.

I have missed doing a big family roast( courtesy of covid) so on a wet day last week ,I decided a nice roast pork meal would be nice.Phoned Simon from Uptons and he said they had a new breed in, 1/2 Sandy& Black,and 1/2 Pitrian.It didn't mean much at the time, I left it to him to chine and score it,and my husband picked it up,all preparedI simply threw a bit of sea salt on it in a dish 250,-°left it for 1/2 an hour then another hour on170°with the par boiled potatoes carrots and parsnips around it to cook in the pork fat.simple as!OMG you will never have tasted a more delicious piece of meat ever,the flavour was outstanding, the texture was melt in the mouth crispy crackling, and juices that made perfect gravy .My husband, and 2 grandchildren (who collected a dinner) all agreed it was the best roast they'd ever had!If you like pork, please try it, you'll never want any other

Got a breakfast box here to do Hubs a fry up on his birthday. Simon was really responsive to emails, really helpful & put us together a smashing box which was delicious & great value. The most delicious and stunning meat from a top butchers in Southampton. Seriously so impressed with the quality and would highly recommend Uptons over any supermarket for the value and taste. A very friendly and helpful team of staff who go the extra mile to help you find exactly what you are looking for. Oh and you can't leave without buying a sausage roll!

We ordered a beef Wellington and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten! Divine beef and such wonderful flavours. The pastry was cooked all the way and was buttery and scrumptious. The beef was rare in the middle and just juicy! Thank you did the cooking instructions! An amazing butchery and I recommend to all !

I simply love the place! As family we recently attended a pop-up steak dinner (we had few other pop-up dinners there before) and as always it was a very pleasant evening. Lovely dinner and great hosting from Simon and team.I also visit the shop on regular basis for the meat counter and breakfast or lunch at the bistrot and I have always been pleased by the food and the service by the team...If you love meat you will love Uptons! :-)

Katarina’s Peruvian Chicken bagel “best bagel in Britain award” is fully deserved. So deliciously full of flavour. With avacado, Mayo, coriander etc and pork crackling on the side. What is not to love. I have frequented Upton’s for over 30 years. Simon and his team raise the bar year after year. Bistro was a great addition. You won’t get a better lunch. Well done. Never found another butcher to come close. Sorry photo isn’t better. I had wrecked it before taking it.
