A stunning location in Paignton with a delightful view. Welcomed in by the owner who explained things well and tended to us in a timely manner. Very friendly place and the decor is excellent. The menu is amazing and each dish was lovingly cooked and stacked with wonderful flavour. Some unique class is born in Paignton. My new fav place. 5 stars all around. Hats off to the owners for delivering a wonderful night out experience.

We were so pleased to book a table at Upper Deck for our anniversary. Lovely atmosphere and a great location on the sea front with beautiful views. The food was absolutely delicious, lovely tapas style small plates with a Devon twist and locally sourced food. Would definitely recommend the Duck Balls and Chroizo in Cider!

We had a fabulous meal at Upper Deck so much so that we forgot to take any pictures of our food!! Good portion sizes and a good variety of tapas - we were stuffed! Views out to the sea were stunning and service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. We definitely recommend if you are in the area.

What an amazing find. So pleased we found this restaurant, from the moment Peter welcomed us in we felt relaxed. The restaurant has amazing views over the sea, unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough for us to sit out on the verandah but inside the views were just as good. The menu is varied and homemade, with a lot of variety. We had the nibbles of anchovies, houmous, pitta bread and homemade sourdough with oils. Duck balls, satay chicken skewers, garlic prawns, whitebait, cider chorizo and patatas bravas, which was ample for two. Followed by the most divine panacotta with strawberry coulis, topped off with espresso martine, completely delicious, we couldn't fault a thing.

We were greeted with a warm welcome when we arrived and enjoyed every moment of our birthday treat visit. A stunning view, great food with excellent service. I can’t recommend this bistro for the grown ups highly enough. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating and deserve huge success. We will definitely return. Thank you Ruth & Peter.

Preston seafront is definitely upgrading itself and knocks spots off Paignton in my opinion. We had a wonderful tapas lunch served by one of the owners ,great food and the view is to die for.Get yourselves down there people and give this business the success it certainly deserves.

Last night we went and tried this little tapas bistro with friends and we would recommend it to all the locals to try. We sat on the balcony and the owners couldn’t do enough for us. A lovely couple own the hotel and bistro. The food is all Tapas and we definitely recommend to try the duck balls. The View is stunning and it is only for adults 🥂🥂🥂 smart dress code (no beach wear) upper deck bistro

We really enjoyed sitting on the terrace with panoramic views from Torquay to Brixham. The service was excellent, food was very enjoyable with a good selection of local produce. The front runner in the Preston food scene!

First time visiting Upper Deck Bistro but certainly won't be the last. The tapas were truly delicious and plentiful, with so much choice too. Our host, the setting and of course, the incredible view made for a wonderful night. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Wow, what can I say, would rather say nothing and keep this as my own go to place with friends really. Tapas tasty, spotlessly clean place , adults only, great attention to detail with complimentary olives served with our wines whilst awaiting food, great view even on an overcast day. Prices reasonable, great choice of both food and wine, hence we’ve booked again. Very friendly owner Peter whose wife was busy in the kitchen.

I can highly recommend paying a visit to this bistro, tucked away at Preston sands Paignton . The small plate tapas is freshly cooked and tastes delicious 😋. The choice is good too … something for everyone . With the choice of sitting on the decking overlooking Torbay in the summer evening sunshine was an added bonus. And not a seagull in sight. ! Give it a try you won’t be disappointed .

Terrible experience! From the outside looks like your next door neighbours conservatory… we booked this based on the reviews and from our limited experience what a mistake. Myself and family when we got there couldn’t get inside, all doors where locked and the ring doorbell didn’t work. Then when the owner/manager came he told us we could not enter as we didn’t own a face mask… 12 months ago I appreciate this however all restrictions have gone… therefore we got turned away… dare I say anything more. If you book I hope you remember your face mask, manage to get inside the building then enjoy your meal. If you don’t have a face mask I recommend the boathouse which is within 100 metres.

Spoilt ourselves to a lovely meal at this adult only boutique hotel as we were in the area. With the best views out to sea, staff/owners made us feel welcome and we enjoyed hearing the interesting stories of the area from themselves and a neighbouring couple. The food excellent, I chose the cured duck breast and the wife had the scotch egg for starters. Mains we both had the rack of lamb and it was very impressive that we had to squeeze in a pudding, I went for the rhubarb mess while the wife had the sticky toffee and wallnut. Washed down with a nice bottle of pino, and before we left had a cheeky cocktail. Great experience and would definitely return if in the area again. Thanks Bob & Leanne.

This is a lovely restaurant with excellent views over the bay. The food was unusual, beautifully cooked and presented. Try the Scotch egg with homemade piccalilli!! The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere particularly in the conservatory and the friendly owner added to a lovely evening. This is definitely one, if not the, best restaurant in Paignton.

Just had a very enjoyable lunch at the Upper Deck. Comfortable and stylish with fantastic views from all areas. We ate inside but with better weather I can imagine that the outside areas will be very popular. Menu was varied and great value. Food was very good and well presented, served by the friendly owner. With the views and great food, we could not have asked for anything better. Highly recommended.

I took my mother and father as I hadn't seen them for almost 2 years. We wanted to find somewhere new, we had seen this place while walking by on a walk on the beach and booked right away. We ordered a variety of dishes with starter and main, both meals I had were delicious, my mum and dad's were also fantastic and great value. The waitress was very attentive and food came out very quickly I'm guessing the chef is also very completant and presented the food very well. I would definatley recommend for anyone to come for lunch or dinner.

Minster Fish Bar is situated in the town, on a street with limited parking, but just around the corner—less than 100 metres away—is a large pay and display car park, so no problem there. The shop was spotlessly clean and tidy, and the staff were very happy, smiling and polite, helping customers feel welcome, as we did. The large haddock was something very special. Fresh, thick, and cooked to perfection in a light, crispy batter. The mushy peas, although a little liquid, were sweet and delicious. The curry sauce was also a treat—thick, with a nice kick, but not overly spicy. The battered sausage was one of the best I'd had: a nice thin beef dripping batter on a quality, meaty sausage. The potato pattie was delicious, containing nice little potato chunks, and the herbs added a subtle flavour. The cheese on the cheesy chips was lightly matured and not overly salty, and there was plenty of it, and the plump chips. A good serving of beef dripping-cooked scraps finished the meal off perfectly.
