Not actually been here in about 5 years due to moving away, I used to go regularly, but since moving home we have been back a couple of times in the last few months tonight included. I can honestly say it's as brilliant as ever. 11/10 get yourselves down there, best chippy in the area !!

Called in on way home after a late day at work. Fish & chips were superb.

Amazing food and service. Guy behind till really friendly and contributes to the local area. Way better then all the other chippys in the area.

Delicious food and reasonably priced! Really friendly staff. Amazing gluten free options (even when it’s not their dedicated night for it!) including homemade fish cake and curry sauce that were delicious! Highly recommend.

Went here after recommendations from Google - great place proper traditional fish and chip shop - chalkboard menu no neon signs - fish cooked fresh and loads of scraps - owner was lovely, really chatty and will be back to take you up on your haggis offer!

Lovely fish and chips..I went for small cod and chips on this visit..good prices and good choice of meals . Friendly staff and they recognise you if you have been before or are a regular. While you wait for your order no awkward silence they will chat with you about what you are up to.. You can phone in your order too. They have a little area of seating to eat in ..nice and clean chippy/cafe

One of the better fish n chips I’ve ever had. Very very friendly people, everything cooked to order so not sat around on a hot cupboard. Take away or eat in. I ate in as I love eating in a fish n chip shop, which sadly is a scarcer opportunity these days. I’m not - but they have a gluten free menu on Fridays & Saturdays Eat here, everything was great.

Looking for local fish and chip shop that was good and a work colleague suggested Minster fish bar. Arrived on a Friday night and it was doing a really good trade......always a good sign. Ordered 3 large fish and chips and a battered sausage and were quickly served. On arriving home the carrier bag felt really heavy and we got down to dishing them out. Inside there were absolutely loads of lovely dark coloured chips that were really soft on the inside and so tasty. The large fish were massive and not all batter like other places we have visited previously. The fish was full of thick white fillets and tasted delicious. The quantity you get here I thought was fantastic and this will now be our go to chippy! Also they do not charge extortionate prices. Well in minster fish bar.... being a massive fish and chip fan,I was very impressed.

We were made to feel extremely welcome as we first stepped through the door, excellent service, excellent food! Definitely go again!

Went here for first time tonight, two lovely white flaky cod, perfectly cooked, nice peas and the potato scallops best I’ve had. Add into it extremely good, friendly service and it’s a 5/5

I popped in for fish and chips after a long and horrible winter journey. The staff were wonderful, really helpful, efficient and chatty. The young man was also helpful and I really appreciated his recommendations! The fish, chips, sausage and curry sauce were all delicious. I've never been here before and we will most definitely be back for more next time we fancy a chippy tea! They were also really good value.

In the area overnight and stumbled across this place. Had small cod and chips and it was delicious as was the curry sauce. The chips had fantastic flavour and the fish was perfectly cooked. A small portion was enough for me (used to Southern Jessie portions) and the staff were friendly efficient. I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area, thank you.

Just got my fish and chips paid £6.40 a tiny portion 14 chips and a very thin fish feel ripped off never again .

Lovely fish and chips at a good price. Best chippy in Howden. Not too greasy which is the downfall of a lot. No really queuing system at the front, can be a bit chaotic, but if you order ahead of time and collect they're always on time.

Best quality fish and chips. Friendly service. And large fish and chips means large. Seriously - 2 people could easily enjoy one large portion between them. So if you enjoy excellent quality and a large portion you really do get what you pay for. My husband and I won't go anywhere else for fish and chips. Truly excellent!

Called here as Mr C's had closed the restaurant for some strange reason. Glad we did as its a much better fish supper. Superb traditional fish and chips with a variety of fish sizes available. Very impressed, some of the best i've eaten in years. Excellent fish, batter and chips. Well done.

We were staying close by and found this amazing fish bar by chance. We shared fish and chips and one portion was more than enough. The chips were very tasty, not greasy at all and, the fish was the best we have had. The cod was lovely and white and the batter was exceptional. We will definitely be back to the area, even if just for the Minster Fish Bar experience!

What an ingenious idea to deliver fish and chips to those people in Howden who are self - isolating! The fish and chips were lovely and were delivered at the pre - arranged time and the driver was considerate regarding the isolation rules. They also arrived hot and freshly cooked! Thank you so much as we thought it was going to be quite some time before we could enjoy fish and chips again!

We called into this fish bar on our way back to Leicestershire. We had never been here before and what a find! Everyone was friendly. The food was first class. Nothing was too much trouble. Many thanks for a delicious meal with a good pot of tea. We shall definitely come back again when we come back to the area.

We called into Howden this evening to get something to eat, Minster Fish Bar did the trick. The food was delicious and since it was close to closing they gave us lots of extras for free too. We will definitely be calling in again.
