First time I visited. Lovely play area for little one, ordered a lovely breakfast which was delicious. God value. My only criticism was it was cold but it was early on in the day and maybe it would warm up later.

What an amazing desert delivered service you have, love the attention to detail and the fact your food is actually tasty unlike the other award winning option in South Shields that sells cheap rubbish! Keep up the good work guys you will go far!

Visited here a couple of weeks ago with my mum and small granddaughter. The cafe is very clean and has a children's free soft play area unfortunately we were unable to use it as it was down a steep flight of stairs and as my mum has walking problems we were unable to go down. The menu isn't huge and we ordered banquette sandwiches which we waited a long while to be served and as the cafe wasn't full didn't understand why we waited as long. Anyway my granddaughter entertained herself with the craft box colouring in with the various craft supplies. Surroundings are clean with comfy sofas dotted around we will certainly try it again and hopefully the service next time mite be a little quicker

In a world of big chains and greasy spoons, here we have a breath of fresh air. Upfront is exactly that, a clean, well ran and superbly located cafe. The menu is simple but tasty and well priced. The service is what really impresses the most, with a dedicated chef in whites and attentive servers. They are currently working on a separate free from menu, but are still more than happy to discuss and cater for allergies. I can't eat gluten/wheat, but still enjoyed a lovely breakfast here and the chef reassured me that he'd checked every item. Another excellent idea is downstairs. A kids area called Nincompoops, here there are tables for the adults and many things to entertain toddlers and children. The cafe is accessible from the rear for anything with wheels and there's a huge car park outside. The manager Craig is always available and I believe can even cater for small events such as christenings. If you're in the area and fancy a cuppa, this is definitely the place to be and has my recommendation.

Excellent value, home cooked mince & dumplings. I was recommended by my friend John and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I'm a cancer sufferer and Charlie, the boss, couldn't have been more helpful.

Don't want to give these guys away, since they're really local to me, and I want them all to myself! But... that would be selfish :) It's a super chill place, informal, cozy, with really great Neapolitan style pizza. Edit: Have now taken three Italians here at different times. They all agree the pizza is very good, and that says a lot!
